وَوَصَّيۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ بِوَالِدَيۡهِ اِحۡسٰنًاؕ حَمَلَتۡهُ اُمُّهٗ كُرۡهًا وَّوَضَعَتۡهُ كُرۡهًاؕ وَّحَمۡلُهٗ وَفِصٰلُهٗ ثَلٰثُوۡنَ شَهۡرًاؕ حَتّٰٓى اِذَا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّهٗ وَبَلَغَ اَرۡبَعِيۡنَ سَنَةً ۙ قَالَ رَبِّ اَوۡزِعۡنِىۡۤ اَنۡ اَشۡكُرَ نِعۡمَتَكَ الَّتِىۡۤ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلٰى وَالِدَىَّ وَاَنۡ اَعۡمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرۡضٰٮهُ وَاَصۡلِحۡ لِىۡ فِىۡ ذُرِّيَّتِىۡ ؕۚ اِنِّىۡ تُبۡتُ اِلَيۡكَ وَاِنِّىۡ مِنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَ
Word By Word —
وَوَصَّيۡنَا
wawaṣṣaynāAnd We have enjoinedاور وصیت کی۔ تاکید کی ہم نے
الۡاِنۡسَانَ
l-insāna(on) manانسان کو
بِوَالِدَيۡهِ
biwālidayhito his parentsاپنے والدین کے ساتھ
اِحۡسَانًا ؕ
iḥ'sānankindnessاحسان کرنے کی
حَمَلَـتۡهُ
ḥamalathuCarried himاٹھایا اس کو
اُمُّهٗ
ummuhuhis motherاس کی ماں نے
كُرۡهًا
kur'han(with) hardshipتکلیف میں
وَّوَضَعَتۡهُ
wawaḍaʿathuand gave birth to himاور جنم دیا اس کو
كُرۡهًا ؕ
kur'han(with) hardshipناگواری میں
وَحَمۡلُهٗ
waḥamluhuAnd (the) bearing of himاور حمل اس کا۔ اٹھانا اس کا
وَفِصٰلُهٗ
wafiṣāluhuand (the) weaning of himاور دودھ چھڑانا اس کا
ثَلٰـثُوۡنَ
thalāthūna(is) thirtyتیس
شَهۡرًا ؕ
shahranmonth(s)ماہ تھا
حَتّٰٓى
ḥattāuntil,یہاں تک کہ
اِذَا
idhāwhenجب
بَلَغَ
balaghahe reachesوہ پہنچ چکا
اَشُدَّهٗ
ashuddahuhis maturityاپنی جوانی کو
وَبَلَغَ
wabalaghaand reachesاور پہنچا
اَرۡبَعِيۡنَ
arbaʿīnafortyچالیس
سَنَةً ۙ
sanatanyear(s)سال کو
قَالَ
qālahe saysکہا
رَبِّ
rabbiMy Lordاے میرے رب
اَوۡزِعۡنِىۡۤ
awziʿ'nīgrant me (the) powerمجھے توفیق دے
اَنۡ
anthatکہ
اَشۡكُرَ
ashkuraI may be gratefulمیں شکر ادا کروں
نِعۡمَتَكَ
niʿ'mataka(for) Your favorتیری نعمت کا
الَّتِىۡۤ
allatīwhichوہ
اَنۡعَمۡتَ
anʿamtaYou have bestowedجو انعام کی تو نے
عَلَىَّ
ʿalayyaupon meمجھ پر
وَعَلٰى
waʿalāand uponاور پر
وَالِدَىَّ
wālidayyamy parentsمیرے والدین پر
وَاَنۡ
wa-anand thatاور یہ کہ
اَعۡمَلَ
aʿmalaI doمیں عمل کروں
صَالِحًا
ṣāliḥanrighteous (deeds)صالح
تَرۡضٰٮهُ
tarḍāhuwhich please Youتو راضی ہوجائے اس پر
وَاَصۡلِحۡ
wa-aṣliḥand make righteousاور اصلاح کردے -درست کردے
لِىۡ
līfor meمیرے لیے
فِىۡ
fīamongمیں
ذُرِّيَّتِىۡ ؕۚ
dhurriyyatīmy offspringمیری اولاد میں
اِنِّىۡ
innīindeed,بیشک میں نے
تُبۡتُ
tub'tuI turnمیں نے توبہ کی
اِلَيۡكَ
ilaykato Youتیری طرف
وَاِنِّىۡ
wa-innīand indeed, I amاور بیشک میں
مِنَ
minaofسے
الۡمُسۡلِمِيۡنَ
l-mus'limīnathose who submitمسلمانوں میں سے ہوں
Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi ihsanan hamalat-hu ommuhukurhan wawadaAAat-hu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhuthalathoona shahran hatta ithabalagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaAAeena sanatan qala rabbiawziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen
