— Transliteration
Qul la yastawee alkhabeethu wattayyibuwalaw aAAjabaka kathratu alkhabeethi fattaqoo Allahaya olee al-albabi laAAallakum tuflihoon

Say, "Not equal are the evil and the good, although the abundance of evil might impress you." So fear Allah, O you of understanding, that you may be successful.

Falawla ith jaahumba/suna tadarraAAoo walakin qasat quloobuhumwazayyana lahumu ashshaytanu ma kanooyaAAmaloon

پھر جب ان تک ہمارا عذاب آپہنچا تو انہوں نے عاجزی و زاری کیوں نہ کی؟ لیکن (حقیقت یہ ہے کہ) ان کے دل سخت ہوگئے تھے اور شیطان نے ان کے لئے وہ (گناہ) آراستہ کر دکھائے تھے جو وہ کیا کرتے تھے

Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing.

Wala tasubboo allatheenayadAAoona min dooni Allahi fayasubboo AllahaAAadwan bighayri AAilmin kathalika zayyanna likulliommatin AAamalahum thumma ila rabbihim marjiAAuhumfayunabbi-ohum bima kanoo yaAAmaloon

اور (اے مسلمانو!) تم ان (جھوٹے معبودوں) کو گالی مت دو جنہیں یہ (مشرک لوگ) اللہ کے سوا پوجتے ہیں پھر وہ لوگ (بھی جواباً) جہالت کے باعث ظلم کرتے ہوئے اللہ کی شان میں دشنام طرازی کرنے لگیں گے۔ اسی طرح ہم نے ہر فرقہ (و جماعت) کے لئے ان کا عمل (ان کی آنکھوں میں) مرغوب کر رکھا ہے (اور وہ اسی کو حق سمجھتے رہتے ہیں)، پھر سب کو اپنے رب ہی کی طرف لوٹنا ہے اور وہ انہیں ان اعمال کے نتائج سے آگاہ فرما دے گا جو وہ انجام دیتے تھے

And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do.

بھلا وہ شخص جو مُردہ (یعنی ایمان سے محروم) تھا پھر ہم نے اسے (ہدایت کی بدولت) زندہ کیا اور ہم نے اس کے لئے (ایمان و معرفت کا) نور پیدا فرما دیا (اب) وہ اس کے ذریعے (بقیہ) لوگوں میں (بھی روشنی پھیلانے کے لئے) چلتا ہے اس شخص کی مانند ہو سکتا ہے جس کا حال یہ ہو کہ (وہ جہالت اور گمراہی کے) اندھیروں میں (اس طرح گھِرا) پڑا ہے کہ اس سے نکل ہی نہیں سکتا۔ اسی طرح کافروں کے لئے ان کے وہ اعمال (ان کی نظروں میں) خوش نما دکھائے جاتے ہیں جو وہ انجام دیتے رہتے ہیں

And is one who was dead and We gave him life and made for him light by which to walk among the people like one who is in darkness, never to emerge therefrom? Thus it has been made pleasing to the disbelievers that which they were doing.

Wasbir nafsaka maAAa allatheenayadAAoona rabbahum bilghadati walAAashiyyiyureedoona wajhahu wala taAAdu AAaynaka AAanhumtureedu zeenata alhayati addunya walatutiAA man aghfalna qalbahu AAan thikrinawattabaAAa hawahu wakana amruhu furuta

(اے میرے بندے!) تو اپنے آپ کو ان لوگوں کی سنگت میں جمائے رکھا کر جو صبح و شام اپنے رب کو یاد کرتے ہیں اس کی رضا کے طلب گار رہتے ہیں (اس کی دید کے متمنی اور اس کا مکھڑا تکنے کے آرزو مند ہیں) تیری (محبت اور توجہ کی) نگاہیں ان سے نہ ہٹیں، کیا تو (ان فقیروں سے دھیان ہٹا کر) دنیوی زندگی کی آرائش چاہتا ہے، اور تو اس شخص کی اطاعت (بھی) نہ کر جس کے دل کو ہم نے اپنے ذکر سے غافل کردیا ہے اور وہ اپنی ہوائے نفس کی پیروی کرتا ہے اور اس کا حال حد سے گزر گیا ہے

And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.

فِىۡ الۡحَمِيۡمِ ۙ ثُمَّ فِىۡ النَّارِ يُسۡجَرُوۡنَۚ

Fee alhameemi thumma fee annariyusjaroon
