Urdu —

اور تم جدھر سے بھی (سفر پر) نکلو اپنا چہرہ (نماز کے وقت) مسجدِ حرام کی طرف پھیر لو، اور (اے مسلمانو!) تم جہاں کہیں بھی ہو سو اپنے چہرے اسی کی سمت پھیر لیا کرو تاکہ لوگوں کے پاس تم پر اعتراض کرنے کی گنجائش نہ رہے سوائے ان لوگوں کے جو ان میں حد سے بڑھنے والے ہیں، پس تم ان سے مت ڈرو مجھ سے ڈرا کرو، اس لئے کہ میں تم پر اپنی نعمت پوری کردوں اور تاکہ تم کامل ہدایت پا جاؤ

— English

And from wherever you go out [for prayer], turn your face toward al-Masjid al-Haram. And wherever you [believers] may be, turn your faces toward it in order that the people will not have any argument against you, except for those of them who commit wrong; so fear them not but fear Me. And [it is] so I may complete My favor upon you and that you may be guided.

Ask the Children of Israel how many a sign of evidence We have given them. And whoever exchanges the favor of Allah [for disbelief] after it has come to him - then indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

وَاِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ اَوۡ سَرِّحُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ‌ وَّلَا تُمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ ضِرَارًا لِّتَعۡتَدُوۡا‌ ۚ وَمَنۡ يَّفۡعَلۡ ذٰلِكَ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَهٗ‌ؕ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوۡٓا اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ هُزُوًا‌ وَّاذۡكُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمَآ اَنۡزَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡكِتٰبِ وَالۡحِكۡمَةِ يَعِظُكُمۡ بِهٖ‌ؕ وَاتَّقُوۡا اللّٰهَ وَاعۡلَمُوۡٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيۡمٌ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wa-itha tallaqtumu annisaafabalaghna ajalahunna faamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw sarrihoohunnabimaAAroofin wala tumsikoohunna diraranlitaAAtadoo waman yafAAal thalika faqad thalamanafsahu wala tattakhithoo ayati Allahihuzuwan wathkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykumwama anzala AAalaykum mina alkitabi walhikmatiyaAAithukum bihi wattaqoo Allaha waAAlamooanna Allaha bikulli shay-in AAaleem

and they reach

then retain them

تو روک لو ان کو

in a fair manner

ساتھ بھلے طریقے کے

And (do) not

اور نہ

اور جب تم عورتوں کو طلاق دو اور وہ اپنی عدت (پوری ہونے) کو آپہنچیں تو انہیں اچھے طریقے سے (اپنی زوجیّت میں) روک لو یا انہیں اچھے طریقے سے چھوڑ دو، اور انہیں محض تکلیف دینے کے لئے نہ روکے رکھو کہ (ان پر) زیادتی کرتے رہو، اور جو کوئی ایسا کرے پس اس نے اپنی ہی جان پر ظلم کیا، اور اﷲ کے احکام کو مذاق نہ بنا لو، اور یاد کرو اﷲ کی اس نعمت کو جو تم پر (کی گئی) ہے اور اس کتاب کو جو اس نے تم پر نازل فرمائی ہے اور دانائی (کی باتوں) کو (جن کی اس نے تمہیں تعلیم دی ہے) وہ تمہیں (اس امر کی) نصیحت فرماتا ہے، اور اﷲ سے ڈرو اور جان لو کہ بیشک اﷲ سب کچھ جاننے والا ہے

— English

And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.

وَاعۡتَصِمُوۡا بِحَبۡلِ اللّٰهِ جَمِيۡعًا وَّلَا تَفَرَّقُوۡا‌ وَاذۡكُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ اِذۡ كُنۡتُمۡ اَعۡدَآءً فَاَلَّفَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوۡبِكُمۡ فَاَصۡبَحۡتُمۡ بِنِعۡمَتِهٖۤ اِخۡوَانًاۚ وَكُنۡتُمۡ عَلٰى شَفَا حُفۡرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ فَاَنۡقَذَكُمۡ مِّنۡهَا‌ؕ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَـكُمۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

WaAAtasimoo bihabliAllahi jameeAAan wala tafarraqoo wathkurooniAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith kuntum aAAdaanfaallafa bayna quloobikum faasbahtum biniAAmatihiikhwanan wakuntum AAala shafa hufratinmina annari faanqathakum minha kathalikayubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihi laAAallakumtahtadoon

And hold firmly

اور مضبوطی سے پکڑ لو

تم ہدایت پاؤ

Urdu —

اور تم سب مل کر اللہ کی رسی کو مضبوطی سے تھام لو اور تفرقہ مت ڈالو، اور اپنے اوپر اللہ کی اس نعمت کو یاد کرو جب تم (ایک دوسرے کے) دشمن تھے تو اس نے تمہارے دلوں میں الفت پیدا کردی اور تم اس کی نعمت کے باعث آپس میں بھائی بھائی ہوگئے، اور تم (دوزخ کی) آگ کے گڑھے کے کنارے پر(پہنچ چکے) تھے پھر اس نے تمہیں اس گڑھے سے بچا لیا، یوں ہی اللہ تمہارے لئے اپنی نشانیاں کھول کر بیان فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم ہدایت پا جاؤ

— English

And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.

Yastabshiroona biniAAmatin mina Allahiwafadlin waanna Allaha la yudeeAAuajra almu/mineen

Fanqalaboo biniAAmatin mina Allahiwafadlin lam yamsas-hum soo-on wattabaAAoo ridwanaAllahi wallahu thoo fadlinAAatheem

پھر وہ (مسلمان) اللہ کے انعام اور فضل کے ساتھ واپس پلٹے انہیں کوئی گزند نہ پہنچی اور انہوں نے رضائے الٰہی کی پیروی کی اور اللہ بڑے فضل والا ہے

— English

So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty.

— Transliteration

Waman yutiAAi Allaha warrasoolafaola-ika maAAa allatheena anAAama AllahuAAalayhim mina annabiyyeena wassiddeeqeenawashshuhada-i wassaliheenawahasuna ola-ika rafeeqa

the Prophets

نبیوں

wal-ṣidīqīna

and the truthful

اور صدیقین

wal-shuhadāi

and the martyrs

اور شہیدوں میں سے

wal-ṣāliḥīna

and the righteous

اور صالحین میں سے

waḥasuna

And excellent

اور کتنے اچھے ہیں

ulāika

(are) those

یہ سب لوگ

rafīqan

companion(s)

دوست

Urdu —

اور جو کوئی اللہ اور رسول(صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی اطاعت کرے تو یہی لوگ (روزِ قیامت) ان (ہستیوں) کے ساتھ ہوں گے جن پر اللہ نے (خاص) انعام فرمایا ہے جو کہ انبیاء، صدیقین، شہداءاور صالحین ہیں، اور یہ بہت اچھے ساتھی ہیں

— English

And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.

— Transliteration

Wa-inna minkum laman layubatti-annafa-in asabatkum museebatun qala qad anAAamaAllahu AAalayya ith lam akun maAAahum shaheeda

اور یقیناً تم میں سے بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جو (عمداً سستی کرتے ہوئے) دیر لگاتے ہیں، پھر اگر (جنگ میں) تمہیں کوئی مصیبت پہنچے تو (شریک نہ ہونے والا شخص) کہتا ہے کہ بیشک اللہ نے مجھ پراحسان فرمایا کہ میں ان کے ساتھ (میدانِ جنگ میں) حاضر نہ تھا

And indeed, there is among you he who lingers behind; and if disaster strikes you, he says, "Allah has favored me in that I was not present with them."

حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ الۡمَيۡتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحۡمُ الۡخِنۡزِيۡرِ وَمَاۤ اُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ اللّٰهِ بِهٖ وَالۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ وَالۡمَوۡقُوۡذَةُ وَالۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيۡحَةُ وَمَاۤ اَكَلَ السَّبُعُ اِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَاَنۡ تَسۡتَقۡسِمُوۡا بِالۡاَزۡلَامِ‌ؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ فِسۡقٌ‌ؕ الۡيَوۡمَ يَٮِٕسَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ دِيۡـنِكُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَاخۡشَوۡنِ‌ؕ اَلۡيَوۡمَ اَكۡمَلۡتُ لَـكُمۡ دِيۡنَكُمۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِىۡ وَرَضِيۡتُ لَكُمُ الۡاِسۡلَامَ دِيۡنًا‌ؕ فَمَنِ اضۡطُرَّ فِىۡ مَخۡمَصَةٍ غَيۡرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّاِثۡمٍ‌ۙ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ‏‏ 

— Transliteration

Hurrimat AAalaykumu almaytatu waddamuwalahmu alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahibihi walmunkhaniqatu walmawqoothatu walmutaraddiyatuwannateehatu wama akala assabuAAuilla ma thakkaytum wama thubihaAAala annusubi waan tastaqsimoo bil-azlamithalikum fisqun alyawma ya-isa allatheena kafaroomin deenikum fala takhshawhum wakhshawni alyawmaakmaltu lakum deenakum waatmamtu AAalaykum niAAmatee waradeetulakumu al-islama deenan famani idturra fee makhmasatinghayra mutajanifin li-ithmin fa-inna Allahaghafoorun raheem

wal-mutaradiyatu

and that which has a fatal fall

اور جو بلندی سے گر کر مرنے والی

wal-naṭīḥatu

and that which is red by horns

اور جو ٹکر کھا کر مرنے والی

wamā

and that which

اور جو

akala

ate (it)

کھائیں

l-sabuʿu

the wild animal

درندے

illā

except

مگر

mā

what

جو

dhakkaytum

you slaughtered

ذبح کرلیا تم نے

wamā

and what

اور جو

dhubiḥa

is sacrificed

ذبح کیا گیا

l-nuṣubi

the stone altars

آستانوں

wa-an

and that

اور یہ کہ

tastaqsimū

you seek division

تم قسمت معلوم کرو

bil-azlāmi

by divining arrows

تیروں کے ذریعے

dhālikum

that

یہ سب کام

fis'qun

(is) grave disobedience

فسق ہیں۔ نافرمانی ہیں

l-yawma

This day

آج کے دن

ya-isa

(have) despaired

مایوس ہوگئے

alladhīna

those who

وہ لوگ

kafarū

disbelieved

جنہوں نے کفر کیا

min

سے

dīnikum

your religion

تمہارے دین

falā

so (do) not

تو نہ

takhshawhum

fear them

تم ڈرو ان سے

wa-ikh'shawni

but fear Me

اور ڈرو مجھ سے

l-yawma

This day

آج کے دن

akmaltu

I have perfected

میں نے مکمل کردیا

lakum

for you

تمہارے لیے

dīnakum

your religion

تمہارا دین

wa-atmamtu

and I have completed

اور میں نے تمام کردی

ʿalaykum

upon you

تم پر

niʿ'matī

My Favor

اپنی نعمت

waraḍītu

and I have approved

اور میں نے پسند کرلیا

lakumu

for you

تمہارے لیے

l-is'lāma

[the] Islam

اسلام کو

dīnan

(as) a religion

بطور دین

famani

But whoever

تو جو کوئی

uḍ'ṭurra

(is) forced

مجبور کیا جائے

fī

میں

makhmaṣatin

hunger

بھوک

ghayra

(and) not

نہ

mutajānifin

inclining

مائل ہونے والا ہو

li-ith'min

to sin

گناہ کی طرف

fa-inna

then indeed,

تو بیشک

l-laha

Allah

اللہ

ghafūrun

(is) Oft-Forgiving

بخشنے والا

raḥīmun

Most Merciful

مہربان ہے

Urdu —

تم پر مردار (یعنی بغیر شرعی ذبح کے مرنے والا جانور) حرام کر دیا گیا ہے اور (بہایا ہوا) خون اور سؤر کا گوشت اور وہ (جانور) جس پر ذبح کے وقت غیر اﷲ کا نام پکارا گیا ہو اور گلا گھٹ کر مرا ہوا (جانور) اور (دھار دار آلے کے بغیر کسی چیز کی) ضرب سے مرا ہوا اور اوپر سے گر کر مرا ہوا اور (کسی جانور کے) سینگ مارنے سے مرا ہوا اور وہ (جانور) جسے درندے نے پھاڑ کھایا ہو سوائے اس کے جسے (مرنے سے پہلے) تم نے ذبح کر لیا، اور (وہ جانور بھی حرام ہے) جو باطل معبودوں کے تھانوں (یعنی بتوں کے لئے مخصوص کی گئی قربان گاہوں) پر ذبح کیا گیا ہو اور یہ (بھی حرام ہے) کہ تم پانسوں (یعنی فال کے تیروں) کے ذریعے قسمت کا حال معلوم کرو (یا حصے تقسیم کرو)، یہ سب کام گناہ ہیں۔ آج کافر لوگ تمہارے دین (کے غالب آجانے کے باعث اپنے ناپاک ارادوں) سے مایوس ہو گئے، سو (اے مسلمانو!) تم ان سے مت ڈرو اور مجھ ہی سے ڈرا کرو۔ آج میں نے تمہارے لئے تمہارا دین مکمل کر دیا اور تم پر اپنی نعمت پوری کر دی اور تمہارے لئے اسلام کو (بطور) دین (یعنی مکمل نظامِ حیات کی حیثیت سے) پسند کر لیا۔ پھر اگر کوئی شخص بھوک (اور پیاس) کی شدت میں اضطراری (یعنی انتہائی مجبوری کی) حالت کو پہنچ جائے (اس شرط کے ساتھ) کہ گناہ کی طرف مائل ہونے والا نہ ہو (یعنی حرام چیز گناہ کی رغبت کے باعث نہ کھائے)تو بیشک اﷲ بہت بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے

— English

Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah, and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns, and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death], and those which are sacrificed on stone altars, and [prohibited is] that you seek decision through divining arrows. That is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا اذۡكُرُوۡا نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ اِذۡ هَمَّ قَوۡمٌ اَنۡ يَّبۡسُطُوۡۤا اِلَيۡكُمۡ اَيۡدِيَهُمۡ فَكَفَّ اَيۡدِيَهُمۡ عَنۡكُمۡ‌ۚ وَاتَّقُوۡا اللّٰهَ‌ؕ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith hammaqawmun an yabsutoo ilaykum aydiyahum fakaffa aydiyahumAAankum wattaqoo Allaha waAAala Allahifalyatawakkali almu/minoon

And fear

اور ڈرو

l-laha

Allah

اللہ سے

waʿalā

And upon

اور پر

falyatawakkali

so let put the trust

پس چاہیے کہ بھروسہ کریں

l-mu'minūna

the believers

مومن۔ اہل ایمان

Urdu —

اے ایمان والو! تم اﷲ کے (اُس) انعام کو یاد کرو (جو) تم پر ہوا جب قوم (کفّار) نے یہ ارادہ کیا کہ اپنے ہاتھ (قتل و ہلاکت کے لئے) تمہاری طرف دراز کریں تو اﷲ نے ان کے ہاتھ تم سے روک دیئے، اور اﷲ سے ڈرتے رہو، اور ایمان والوں کو اﷲ ہی پر بھروسہ رکھنا چاہئے

— English

O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when a people determined to extend their hands [in aggression] against you, but He withheld their hands from you; and fear Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.

وَلَقَدۡ اَخَذَ اللّٰهُ مِيۡثَاقَ بَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِیۡلَ ‌ۚ وَبَعَثۡنَا مِنۡهُمُ اثۡنَىۡ عَشَرَ نَقِيۡبًا‌ؕ وَّقَالَ اللّٰهُ اِنِّىۡ مَعَكُمۡ‌ؕ لَٮِٕنۡ اَقَمۡتُمُ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَيۡتُمُ الزَّكٰوةَ وَاٰمَنۡتُمۡ بِرُسُلِىۡ وَعَزَّرۡتُمُوۡهُمۡ وَاَقۡرَضۡتُمُ اللّٰهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنًا لَّاُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنۡكُمۡ سَيِّاٰتِكُمۡ وَلَاُدۡخِلَـنَّكُمۡ جَنّٰتٍ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُ‌ۚ فَمَنۡ كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِكَ مِنۡكُمۡ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ السَّبِيۡلِ‏ 

— Transliteration

Walaqad akhatha Allahu meethaqabanee isra-eela wabaAAathna minhumu ithnay AAasharanaqeeban waqala Allahu innee maAAakum la-inaqamtumu assalata waataytumu azzakatawaamantum birusulee waAAazzartumoohum waaqradtumuAllaha qardan hasanan laokaffiranna AAankumsayyi-atikum walaodkhilannakum jannatin tajree mintahtiha al-anharu faman kafara baAAda thalikaminkum faqad dalla sawaa assabeel

(and) ten

leaders

نگران۔ سردار۔ نقیب

And said

اور کہا

l-lahu

Allah

اللہ نے

innī

`Indeed, I (am)

بیشک میں

maʿakum

with you,

تمہارے ساتھ ہوں

la-in

البتہ اگر

aqamtumu

you establish

قائم کی تم نے

l-ṣalata

the prayer

نماز

waātaytumu

and give

اور دی تم نے

l-zakata

the zakah

زکوۃ

waāmantum

and you believe

اور ایمان لائے تم

birusulī

in My Messengers

میرے رسولوں پر

waʿazzartumūhum

and you assist them

اور تعظیم کی تم نے ان کی۔ مدد کی تم نے ان

wa-aqraḍtumu

and you loan

اور قرض دیا تم نے

l-laha

(to) Allah

اللہ کو

qarḍan

a loan

قرض

ḥasanan

goodly

حسنہ

la-ukaffiranna

surely I will remove

البتہ میں ضرور دور کردوں گا

ʿankum

from you

تم سے

sayyiātikum

your evil deeds

تمہاری برائیاں

wala-ud'khilannakum

and I will surely admit you

اور البتہ میں ضرور داخل کروں گا تم کو

jannātin

(to) gardens

باغات میں

tajrī

flow

بہتی ہیں

min

from

سے

taḥtihā

underneath them

ان کے نیچے

l-anhāru

the rivers

نہریں

faman

But whoever

تو جس نے

kafara

disbelieved

کفر کیا

baʿda

after

بعد

dhālika

that

اس کے

minkum

among you,

تم میں سے

faqad

then certainly

تو تحقیق

ḍalla

he strayed

بھٹگ گیا

sawāa

(from) the way

سیدھے

l-sabīli

the right

راستے سے

Urdu —

اور بیشک اﷲ نے بنی اسرائیل سے پختہ عہد لیا اور (اس کی تعمیل، تنفیذ اور نگہبانی کے لئے) ہم نے ان میں بارہ سردار مقرر کئے، اور اﷲ نے (بنی اسرائیل سے) فرمایا کہ میں تمہارے ساتھ ہوں (یعنی میری خصوصی مدد و نصرت تمہارے ساتھ رہے گی)، اگر تم نے نماز قائم رکھی اور تم زکوٰۃ دیتے رہے اور میرے رسولوں پر (ہمیشہ) ایمان لاتے رہے اور ان (کے پیغمبرانہ مشن) کی مدد کرتے رہے اور اﷲ کو (اس کے دین کی حمایت و نصرت میں مال خرچ کرکے) قرضِ حسن دیتے رہے تو میں تم سے تمہارے گناہوں کو ضرور مٹا دوں گا اور تمہیں یقیناً ایسی جنتوں میں داخل کر دوں گا جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں۔ پھر اس کے بعد تم میں سے جس نے (بھی) کفر (یعنی عہد سے انحراف) کیا تو بیشک وہ سیدھی راہ سے بھٹک گیاo

— English

And Allah had already taken a covenant from the Children of Israel, and We delegated from among them twelve leaders. And Allah said, "I am with you. If you establish prayer and give zakah and believe in My messengers and support them and loan Allah a goodly loan, I will surely remove from you your misdeeds and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow. But whoever of you disbelieves after that has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way."

Urdu —

اور (وہ وقت بھی یاد کریں) جب موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: اے میری قوم! تم اپنے اوپر (کیا گیا) اﷲ کا وہ انعام یاد کرو جب اس نے تم میں انبیاء پیدا فرمائے اور تمہیں بادشاہ بنایا اور تمہیں وہ (کچھ) عطا فرمایا جو (تمہارے زمانے میں) تمام جہانوں میں سے کسی کو نہیں دیا تھا

— English

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people, "O my people, remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds.

قَالَ رَجُلٰنِ مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ يَخَافُوۡنَ اَنۡعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهِمَا ادۡخُلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡبَابَ‌ۚ فَاِذَا دَخَلۡتُمُوۡهُ فَاِنَّكُمۡ غٰلِبُوۡنَ‌ ‌ۚ وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ فَتَوَكَّلُوۡۤا اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Qala rajulani mina allatheenayakhafoona anAAama Allahu AAalayhimaodkhuloo AAalayhimu albaba fa-itha dakhaltumoohufa-innakum ghaliboona waAAala Allahifatawakkaloo in kuntum mu/mineen

And upon

Allah

اللہ (ہی)

fatawakkalū

then put your trust

پس تم توکل کرو

اگر

kuntum

you are

ہو تم

mu'minīna

believers

ایمان لانے والے

Urdu —

ان (چند) لوگوں میں سے جو (اﷲ سے) ڈرتے تھے دو (ایسے) شخص بول اٹھے جن پر اﷲ نے انعام فرمایا تھا (اپنی قوم سے کہنے لگے:) تم ان لوگوں پر (بلا خوف حملہ کرتے ہوئے شہر کے) دروازے سے داخل ہو جاؤ، سو جب تم اس (دروازے) میں داخل ہو جاؤ گے تو یقیناً تم غالب ہو جاؤ گے، اور اﷲ ہی پر توکل کرو بشرطیکہ تم ایمان والے ہو

— English

Said two men from those who feared [to disobey] upon whom Allah had bestowed favor, "Enter upon them through the gate, for when you have entered it, you will be predominant. And upon Allah rely, if you should be believers."

‌اِذۡ قَالَ اللّٰهُ يٰعِيۡسَى ابۡنَ مَرۡيَمَ اذۡكُرۡ نِعۡمَتِىۡ عَلَيۡكَ وَعَلٰى وَالِدَتِكَ‌ۘ اِذۡ اَيَّدتُّكَ بِرُوۡحِ الۡقُدُسِ تُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ فِىۡ الۡمَهۡدِ وَكَهۡلاً‌ ‌ۚوَاِذۡ عَلَّمۡتُكَ الۡـكِتٰبَ وَالۡحِكۡمَةَ وَالتَّوۡرٰٮةَ وَالۡاِنۡجِيۡلَ‌ۚ وَاِذۡ تَخۡلُقُ مِنَ الطِّيۡنِ كَهَيۡـَٔـةِ الطَّيۡرِ بِاِذۡنِىۡ فَتَنۡفُخُ فِيۡهَا فَتَكُوۡنُ طَيۡرًۢا بِاِذۡنِىۡ‌ وَتُبۡرِئُ الۡاَكۡمَهَ وَالۡاَبۡرَصَ بِاِذۡنِىۡ‌ۚ وَاِذۡ تُخۡرِجُ الۡمَوۡتٰى بِاِذۡنِىۡ‌ۚ وَاِذۡ كَفَفۡتُ بَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرآءِيۡلَ عَنۡكَ اِذۡ جِئۡتَهُمۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ فَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ اِنۡ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا سِحۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌ‏ 

— Transliteration

Ith qala Allahu yaAAeesa ibna maryama othkur niAAmatee AAalaykawaAAala walidatika ith ayyadtuka biroohialqudusi tukallimu annasa fee almahdi wakahlanwa-ith AAallamtuka alkitaba walhikmatawattawrata wal-injeela wa-ithtakhluqu mina atteeni kahay-ati attayribi-ithnee fatanfukhu feeha fatakoonu tayranbi-ithnee watubri-o al-akmaha wal-abrasabi-ithnee wa-ith tukhriju almawta bi-ithneewa-ith kafaftu banee isra-eela AAanka ithji/tahum bilbayyinati faqala allatheenakafaroo minhum in hatha illa sihrun mubeen

and (in) maturity

اور اڈھیر عمر میں

wa-idh

And when

اور جب

ʿallamtuka

I taught you

میں نے سکھائی تجھ کو

l-kitāba

the Book

کتاب

wal-ḥik'mata

and the wisdom

اور حکمت

wal-tawrāta

and the Taurat

اور تورات

wal-injīla

and the Injeel;

اور انجیل

wa-idh

and when

اور جب

takhluqu

you make

تو بناتا تھا۔ تو تخلیق کرتا تھا

mina

from

سے

l-ṭīni

the clay

مٹی

kahayati

like the shape

مانند شکل

l-ṭayri

(of) the bird

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

ساتھ میرے اذ ن کے

fatanfukhu

then you breath

پھر تو پھونک مارتا تھا

fīhā

into it

اس میں

fatakūnu

and it becomes

پھر وہ ہوجاتا

ṭayran

a bird

پرندہ

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

ساتھ میرے اذن کے

watub'ri-u

and you heal

اور تو تندرست کرتا تھا

l-akmaha

the born blind

مادرزاد اندھے کو

wal-abraṣa

and the leper

اور برص والے کو

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

ساتھ میرے اذن کے

wa-idh

and when

اور جب

tukh'riju

you bring forth

تو نکالتا تھا

l-mawtā

the dead

مردہ کو

bi-idh'nī

by My permission

ساتھ میرے اذن کے

wa-idh

And when

اور جب

kafaftu

I restrained

روکا میں نے

banī

(the) Children

بنی

is'rāīla

(of) Israel

اسرائیل کو

ʿanka

from you

تجھ سے

idh

when

جب

ji'tahum

you came to them

لایا تو ان کے پاس

bil-bayināti

with the clear proofs

روشن نشانیاں

faqāla

then said

تو کہا

alladhīna

those who

ان لوگوں نے

kafarū

disbelieved

جنہوں نے کفر کیا

min'hum

among them

ان میں سے

**`This is not

نہیں

hādhā

**`This is not

یہ

illā

but

مگر

siḥ'run

magic

جادو

mubīnun

clear

کھلم کھلا

Urdu —

جب اللہ فرمائے گا: اے عیسٰی ابن مریم! تم اپنے اوپر اور اپنی والدہ پر میرا احسان یاد کرو جب میں نے پاک روح (جبرائیل) کے ذریعے تمہیں تقویت بخشی، تم گہوارے میں (بعہدِ طفولیت) اور پختہ عمری میں (بعہدِ تبلیغ و رسالت یکساں انداز سے) لوگوں سے گفتگو کرتے تھے، اور جب میں نے تمہیں کتاب اور حکمت (و دانائی) اور تورات اور انجیل سکھائی، اور جب تم میرے حکم سے مٹی کے گارے سے پرندے کی شکل کی مانند (مورتی) بناتے تھے پھر تم اس میں پھونک مارتے تھے تو وہ (مورتی) میرے حکم سے پرندہ بن جاتی تھی، اور جب تم مادر زاد اندھوں اور کوڑھیوں (یعنی برص زدہ مریضوں) کو میرے حکم سے اچھا کر دیتے تھے، اور جب تم میرے حکم سے مُردوں کو (زندہ کر کے قبر سے) نکال (کھڑا کر) دیتے تھے، اور جب میں نے بنی اسرائیل کو تمہارے (قتل) سے روک دیا تھا جب کہ تم ان کے پاس واضح نشانیاں لے کر آئے تو ان میں سے کافروں نے (یہ) کہہ دیا کہ یہ تو کھلے جادو کے سوا کچھ نہیں

— English

[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is not but obvious magic."

اَوَعَجِبۡتُمۡ اَنۡ جَآءَكُمۡ ذِكۡرٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكُمۡ عَلٰى رَجُلٍ مِّنۡكُمۡ لِيُنۡذِرَكُمۡ‌ؕ وَاذۡكُرُوۡۤا اِذۡ جَعَلَكُمۡ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ قَوۡمِ نُوۡحٍ وَّزَادَكُمۡ فِىۡ الۡخَـلۡقِ بَصۜۡطَةً‌‌ ۚ فَاذۡكُرُوۡۤا اٰلَۤاءَ اللّٰهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Awa AAajibtum an jaakum thikrunmin rabbikum AAala rajulin minkum liyunthirakum wathkurooith jaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi qawmi noohinwazadakum fee alkhalqi bastatan fathkurooalaa Allahi laAAallakum tuflihoon

(of) Nuh,

نوح کے

wazādakum

and increased you

اور زیادہ دی تم کو

fī

میں

l-khalqi

the stature

ساخت میں

baṣ'ṭatan

extensively

فراخی

fa-udh'kurū

So remember

پس یاد کرو

ālāa

(the) Bounties

نعمتوں کو

l-lahi

(of) Allah

اللہ کی

laʿallakum

so that you may

تاکہ تم

tuf'liḥūna

succeed

فلاح پا جاؤ

Urdu —

کیا تمہیں اس بات پر تعجب ہے کہ تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کی طرف سے تم ہی میں سے ایک مرد (کی زبان) پر نصیحت آئی تاکہ وہ تمہیں (عذابِ الٰہی سے) ڈرائے، اور یاد کرو جب اس نے تمہیں قومِ نوح کے بعد (زمین پر) جانشین بنایا اور تمہاری خلقت میں (قد و قامت اور) قوت کو مزید بڑھا دے، سو تم اﷲ کی نعمتوں کو یاد کرو تاکہ تم فلاح پا جاؤ

— English

Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed.

— Transliteration

Wathkuroo ithjaAAalakum khulafaa min baAAdi AAadin wabawwaakumfee al-ardi tattakhithoona min suhooliha qusooranwatanhitoona aljibala buyootan fathkurooalaa Allahi wala taAAthaw fee al-ardimufsideen

So remember

(the) Bounties

نعمتوں کو

(of) Allah

and (do) not

اور نہ

taʿthaw

act wickedly

تم فساد کرو

fī

میں

l-arḍi

(the) earth

زمین (میں)

muf'sidīna

spreading corruption

مفسد بن کر

Urdu —

اور یاد کرو جب اس نے تمہیں (قومِ) عاد کے بعد (زمین میں) جانشین بنایا اور تمہیں زمین میں سکونت بخشی کہ تم اس کے نرم (میدانی) علاقوں میں محلات بناتے ہو اور پہاڑوں کو تراش کر (ان میں) گھر بناتے ہو، سو تم اﷲ کی (ان) نعمتوں کو یاد کرو اور زمین میں فساد انگیزی نہ کرتے پھرو

— English

And remember when He made you successors after the 'Aad and settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption."

وَاَوۡرَثۡنَا الۡـقَوۡمَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَانُوۡا يُسۡتَضۡعَفُوۡنَ مَشَارِقَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِىۡ بٰرَكۡنَا فِيۡهَا‌ؕ وَتَمَّتۡ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الۡحُسۡنَىٰ عَلٰى بَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَاۤءِيۡلَ ۙ بِمَا صَبَرُوۡا‌ؕ وَدَمَّرۡنَا مَا كَانَ يَصۡنَعُ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَقَوۡمُهٗ وَمَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡرِشُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Waawrathna alqawma allatheenakanoo yustadAAafoona mashariqa al-ardiwamagharibaha allatee barakna feehawatammat kalimatu rabbika alhusna AAalabanee isra-eela bima sabaroo wadammarnama kana yasnaAAu firAAawnu waqawmuhu wamakanoo yaAArishoon

We blessed

برکت دی تھی ہم نے

[in it].

جس میں

watammat

And was fulfilled

اور پوری ہوگئی

kalimatu

(the) word

rabbika

(of) your Lord

تیرے رب کی

l-ḥus'nā

the best

بھلائی والی

ʿalā

for

پر

banī

(the) Children

بنی

is'rāīla

(of) Israel

اسرائیل

bimā

because

بوجہ اس کے جو

ṣabarū

they were patient

انہوں نے صبر کیا

wadammarnā

And We destroyed

اور برباد کردیا ہم نے

mā

what

جو

kāna

used to

تھا

yaṣnaʿu

make

کیا کرتا۔ بناتا

fir'ʿawnu

Firaun

فرعون

waqawmuhu

and his people

اور اس کی قوم

wamā

and what

اور جو کچھ

kānū

they used to

کہ تھے وہ

yaʿrishūna

erect

چھتوں پر چڑھاتے

Urdu —

اور ہم نے اس قوم (بنی اسرائیل) کو جو کمزور اور استحصال زدہ تھی اس سرزمین کے مشرق و مغرب (مصر اور شام) کا وارث بنا دیا جس میں ہم نے برکت رکھی تھی، اور (یوں) بنی اسرائیل کے حق میں آپ کے رب کا نیک وعدہ پورا ہوگیا اس وجہ سے کہ انہوں نے (فرعونی مظالم پر) صبر کیا تھا، اور ہم نے ان (عالیشان محلات) کو تباہ و برباد کردیا جو فرعون اور اس کی قوم نے بنا رکھے تھے اور ان چنائیوں (اور باغات) کو بھی جنہیں وہ بلندیوں پر چڑھاتے تھے

— English

And We caused the people who had been oppressed to inherit the eastern regions of the land and the western ones, which We had blessed. And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of what they had patiently endured. And We destroyed [all] that Pharaoh and his people were producing and what they had been building.

Al-AnfaalThe Spoils of War008surahمال غنیمت

MaddiniSerial: Revelation: 88Verses: 75Parah: 9,10Rukus: 10Sajda: ---

ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ لَمۡ يَكُ مُغَيِّرًا نِّـعۡمَةً اَنۡعَمَهَا عَلٰى قَوۡمٍ حَتّٰى يُغَيِّرُوۡا مَا بِاَنۡفُسِهِمۡ‌ۙ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ سَمِيۡعٌ عَلِيۡمٌۙ‏ 

— Transliteration

Thalika bi-anna Allaha lamyaku mughayyiran niAAmatan anAAamaha AAala qawmin hattayughayyiroo ma bi-anfusihim waanna Allaha sameeAAunAAaleem

(is) in themselves

ان کے نفسوں میں ہے

wa-anna

And indeed,

اور بیشک

l-laha

Allah

اللہ تعالیٰ

samīʿun

(is) All-Hearing

سننے والا

ʿalīmun

All-Knowing

جاننے والا ہے

Urdu —

یہ (عذاب) اس وجہ سے ہے کہ اللہ کسی نعمت کو ہرگز بدلنے والا نہیں جو اس نے کسی قوم پر اَرزانی فرمائی ہو یہاں تک کہ وہ لوگ اَز خود اپنی حالتِ نعمت کو بدل دیں (یعنی کفرانِ نعمت اور معصیت و نافرمانی کے مرتکب ہوں اور پھر ان میں احساسِ زیاں بھی باقی نہ رہے تب وہ قوم ہلاکت و بربادی کی زد میں آجاتی ہے)، بیشک اللہ خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے

— English

That is because Allah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

وَلَٮِٕنۡ اَذَقۡنٰهُ نَـعۡمَآءَ بَعۡدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتۡهُ لَيَـقُوۡلَنَّ ذَهَبَ السَّيِّاٰتُ عَنِّىۡ‌ ؕ اِنَّهٗ لَـفَرِحٌ فَخُوۡرٌۙ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wala-in athaqnahu naAAmaabaAAda darraa massat-hu layaqoolanna thahabaassayyi-atu AAannee innahu lafarihunfakhoor

البتہ خوش ہونے والا ہے

(and) boastful

بہت فخر کرنے والا ہے

Urdu —

اور اگر ہم اسے (کوئی) نعمت چکھاتے ہیں اس تکلیف کے بعد جو اسے پہنچ چکی تھی تو ضرور کہہ اٹھتا ہے کہ مجھ سے ساری تکلیفیں جاتی رہیں، بیشک وہ بڑا خوش ہونے والا (اور) فخر کرنے والا (بن جاتا) ہے

But if We give him a taste of favor after hardship has touched him, he will surely say, "Bad times have left me." Indeed, he is exultant and boastful -

— Transliteration

Qeela ya noohu ihbitbisalamin minna wabarakatin AAalayka waAAalaomamin mimman maAAaka waomamun sanumattiAAuhum thumma yamassuhumminna AAathabun aleem

But (to other) nations

اور کچھ جماعتیں

sanumattiʿuhum

We will grant enjoyment

عنقریب ہم فائدہ دیں گے ان کو

thumma

then

پھر

yamassuhum

will touch them

چھولے گا ان کو

minnā

from Us

ہماری طرف سے

ʿadhābun

a punishment

عذاب

alīmun

painful

دردناک

Urdu —

فرمایا گیا: اے نوح! ہماری طرف سے سلامتی اور برکتوں کے ساتھ (کشتی سے) اتر جاؤ جو تم پر ہیں اور ان طبقات پر ہیں جو تمہارے ساتھ ہیں، اور (آئندہ پھر) کچھ طبقے ایسے ہوں گے جنہیں ہم (دنیوی نعمتوں سے) بہرہ یاب فرمائیں گے پھر انہیں ہماری طرف سے دردناک عذاب آپہنچے گا

It was said, "O Noah, disembark in security from Us and blessings upon you and upon nations [descending] from those with you. But other nations [of them] We will grant enjoyment; then there will touch them from Us a painful punishment."

فرشتوں نے کہا: کیا تم اﷲ کے حکم پر تعجب کر رہی ہو؟ اے گھر والو! تم پر اﷲ کی رحمت اور اس کی برکتیں ہیں، بیشک وہ قابلِ ستائش (ہے) بزرگی والا ہے

— English

They said, "Are you amazed at the decree of Allah? May the mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Honorable."

— Transliteration

Wakathalika yajtabeeka rabbukawayuAAallimuka min ta/weeli al-ahadeethi wayutimmuniAAmatahu AAalayka waAAala ali yaAAqooba kamaatammaha AAala abawayka min qablu ibraheemawa-ishaqa inna rabbaka AAaleemun hakeem

اسی طرح تمہارا رب تمہیں (بزرگی کے لئے) منتخب فرما لے گا اور تمہیں باتوں کے انجام تک پہنچنا (یعنی خوابوں کی تعبیر کا علم) سکھائے گا اور تم پر اور اولادِ یعقوب پر اپنی نعمت تمام فرمائے گا جیسا کہ اس نے اس سے قبل تمہارے دونوں باپ (یعنی پردادا اور دادا) ابراہیم اور اسحاق (علیھما السلام) پر تمام فرمائی تھی۔ بیشک تمہارا رب خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے

— English

And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise."

— Transliteration

Wa-ith qala moosaliqawmihi othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ithanjakum min ali firAAawna yasoomoonakum soo-a alAAathabiwayuthabbihoona abnaakum wayastahyoonanisaakum wafee thalikum balaon min rabbikumAAatheem

آزمائش تھی

Urdu —

اور (وہ وقت یاد کیجئے) جب موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے اپنی قوم سے کہا: تم اپنے اوپر اللہ کے (اس) انعام کو یاد کرو جب اس نے تمہیں آلِ فرعون سے نجات دی جو تمہیں سخت عذاب پہنچاتے تھے اور تمہارے لڑکوں کو ذبح کر ڈالتے تھے اور تمہاری عورتوں کو زندہ چھوڑ دیتے تھے، اور اس میں تمہارے رب کی جانب سے بڑی بھاری آزمائش تھی

— English

And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses said to His people, "Remember the favor of Allah upon you when He saved you from the people of Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst torment and were slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.

Have you not considered those who exchanged the favor of Allah for disbelief and settled their people [in] the home of ruin?

البتہ بڑا ظالم

kaffārun

(and) ungrateful

بڑا ناشکرا ہے

Urdu —

اور اس نے تمہیں ہر وہ چیز عطا فرما دی جو تم نے اس سے مانگی، اور اگر تم اللہ کی نعمتوں کو شمار کرنا چاہو (تو) پورا شمار نہ کر سکو گے، بیشک انسان بڑا ہی ظالم بڑا ہی ناشکرگزار ہے

— English

And He gave you from all you asked of Him. And if you should count the favor of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, mankind is [generally] most unjust and ungrateful.

اور اگر تم اللہ کی نعمتوں کو شمار کرنا چاہو تو انہیں پورا شمار نہ کر سکو گے، بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے

And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

اور تمہیں جو نعمت بھی حاصل ہے سو وہ اللہ ہی کی جانب سے ہے، پھر جب تمہیں تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو تم اسی کے آگے گریہ و زاری کرتے ہو

And whatever you have of favor - it is from Allah. Then when adversity touches you, to Him you cry for help.

Wallahu jaAAala lakum mimmakhalaqa thilalan wajaAAala lakum mina aljibaliaknanan wajaAAala lakum sarabeela taqeekumu alharrawasarabeela taqeekum ba/sakum kathalika yutimmuniAAmatahu AAalaykum laAAallakum tuslimoon

from your (mutual) violence

تمہاری جنگ سے

Thus

اسی طرح

yutimmu

He completes

وہ پورا کرتا ہے

His Favor

اپنی نعمت کو

ʿalaykum

upon you

تم پر

laʿallakum

so that you may

تاکہ تم

tus'limūna

submit

تم سپرد کردو۔ فرمانبردار بن جاؤ

Urdu —

اور اللہ ہی نے تمہارے لئے اپنی پیدا کردہ کئی چیزوں کے سائے بنائے اور اس نے تمہارے لئے پہاڑوں میں پناہ گاہیں بنائیں اور اس نے تمہارے لئے (کچھ) ایسے لباس بنائے جو تمہیں گرمی سے بچاتے ہیں اور (کچھ) ایسے لباس جو تمہیں شدید جنگ میں (دشمن کے وار سے) بچاتے ہیں، اس طرح اللہ تم پر اپنی نعمتِ (کفالت و حفاظت) پوری فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم (اس کے حضور) سرِ نیاز خم کر دو

— English

And Allah has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments which protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit [to Him].

يَعۡرِفُوۡنَ نِعۡمَتَ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ يُنۡكِرُوۡنَهَا وَاَكۡثَرُهُمُ الۡكٰفِرُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

YaAArifoona niAAmata Allahi thummayunkiroonaha waaktharuhumu alkafiroon

They recognize

وہ پہچانتے ہیں

(the) Favor

نعمت کو

(of) Allah

اللہ کی

they deny it

وہ انکار کرتے ہیں اس کا

And most of them

اور اکثر ان میں سے

(are) the disbelievers

کافر ہیں۔ ناشکرے ہیں۔ انکار کرنے والے ہیں

یہ لوگ اللہ کی نعمت کو پہچانتے ہیں پھر اس کا انکار کرتے ہیں اور ان میں سے اکثر کافر ہیں

They recognize the favor of Allah; then they deny it. And most of them are disbelievers.

وَضَرَبَ اللّٰهُ مَثَلاً قَرۡيَةً كَانَتۡ اٰمِنَةً مُّطۡمَٮِٕنَّةً يَّاۡتِيۡهَا رِزۡقُهَا رَغَدًا مِّنۡ كُلِّ مَكَانٍ فَكَفَرَتۡ بِاَنۡعُمِ اللّٰهِ فَاَذٰقَهَا اللّٰهُ لِبَاسَ الۡجُـوۡعِ وَالۡخَـوۡفِ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَصۡنَعُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wadaraba Allahu mathalanqaryatan kanat aminatan mutma-innatanya/teeha rizquha raghadan min kulli makaninfakafarat bi-anAAumi Allahi faathaqaha Allahulibasa aljooAAi walkhawfi bima kanooyasnaAAoon

اور اللہ نے ایک ایسی بستی کی مثال بیان فرمائی ہے جو (بڑے) امن اور اطمینان سے (آباد) تھی اس کا رزق اس کے (مکینوں کے) پاس ہر طرف سے بڑی وسعت و فراغت کے ساتھ آتا تھا پھر اس بستی (والوں) نے اللہ کی نعمتوں کی ناشکری کی تو اللہ نے اسے بھوک اور خوف کے عذاب کا لباس پہنا دیا ان اعمال کے سبب سے جو وہ کرتے تھے

— English

And Allah presents an example: a city which was safe and secure, its provision coming to it in abundance from every location, but it denied the favors of Allah. So Allah made it taste the envelopment of hunger and fear for what they had been doing.

— Transliteration

Fakuloo mimma razaqakumu Allahuhalalan tayyiban washkuroo niAAmataAllahi in kuntum iyyahu taAAbudoon

پس جو حلال اور پاکیزہ رزق تمہیں اللہ نے بخشا ہے، تم اس میں سے کھایا کرو اور اللہ کی نعمت کا شکر بجا لاتے رہو اگر تم اسی کی عبادت کرتے ہو

Then eat of what Allah has provided for you [which is] lawful and good. And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.

[He was] grateful for His favors. Allah chose him and guided him to a straight path.

— Transliteration

Subhana allathee asrabiAAabdihi laylan mina almasjidi alharami ilaalmasjidi al-aqsa allathee barakna hawlahulinuriyahu min ayatina innahu huwa assameeAAualbaseer

دیکھنے والا ہے

Urdu —

وہ ذات (ہر نقص اور کمزوری سے) پاک ہے جو رات کے تھوڑے سے حصہ میں اپنے (محبوب اور مقرّب) بندے کو مسجدِ حرام سے (اس) مسجدِ اقصٰی تک لے گئی جس کے گرد و نواح کو ہم نے بابرکت بنا دیا ہے تاکہ ہم اس (بندۂ کامل) کو اپنی نشانیاں دکھائیں، بیشک وہی خوب سننے والا خوب دیکھنے والا ہے

— English

Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Wa-itha anAAamna AAalaal-insani aAArada wanaa bijanibihiwa-itha massahu ashsharru kana yaoosa

اور جب ہم انسان پر (کوئی) انعام فرماتے ہیں تو وہ (شکر سے) گریز کرتا اور پہلو تہی کر جاتا ہے اور جب اسے کوئی تکلیف پہنچ جاتی ہے تو مایوس ہو جاتا ہے (گویا نہ شاکر ہے نہ صابر)

And when We bestow favor upon the disbeliever, he turns away and distances himself; and when evil touches him, he is ever despairing.

اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الَّذِيۡنَ اَنۡعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مِّنَ النَّبِيّٖنَ مِنۡ ذُرِّيَّةِ اٰدَمَ وَمِمَّنۡ حَمَلۡنَا مَعَ نُوۡحٍ وَّمِنۡ ذُرِّيَّةِ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَاِسۡرآءِيۡلَ وَمِمَّنۡ هَدَيۡنَا وَاجۡتَبَيۡنَا‌ؕ اِذَا تُتۡلٰى عَلَيۡهِمۡ اٰيٰتُ الرَّحۡمٰنِ خَرُّوۡا سُجَّدًا وَّبُكِيًّا ۩‏ 

— Transliteration

Ola-ika allatheena anAAama AllahuAAalayhim mina annabiyyeena min thurriyyati adamawamimman hamalna maAAa noohin wamin thurriyyatiibraheema wa-isra-eela wamimman hadayna wajtabaynaitha tutla AAalayhim ayatu arrahmanikharroo sujjadan wabukiyya

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن پر اللہ نے انعام فرمایا ہے زمرۂ انبیاء میں سے آدم (علیہ السلام) کی اولاد سے ہیں اور ان (مومنوں) میں سے ہیں جنہیں ہم نے نوح (علیہ السلام) کے ساتھ کشتی میں (طوفان سے بچا کر) اٹھا لیا تھا، اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کی اور اسرائیل (یعنی یعقوب علیہ السلام) کی اولاد سے ہیں اور ان (منتخب) لوگوں میں سے ہیں جنہیں ہم نے ہدایت بخشی اور برگزیدہ بنایا، جب ان پر (خدائے) رحمان کی آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے وہ سجدہ کرتے ہوئے اور (زار و قطار) روتے ہوئے گر پڑتے ہیں

Those were the ones upon whom Allah bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.

اور (ہم نے) سلیمان (علیہ السلام) کے لئے تیز ہوا کو (مسخّر کردیا) جو ان کے حکم سے (جملہ اَطراف و اَکناف سے) اس سرزمینِ (شام) کی طرف چلا کرتی تھی جس میں ہم نے برکتیں رکھی ہیں، اور ہم ہر چیز کو (خوب) جاننے والے ہیں

And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.

Fatabassama dahikan min qawlihawaqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allateeanAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihantardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadikaassaliheen

تو وہ (یعنی سلیمان علیہ السلام) اس (چیونٹی) کی بات سے ہنسی کے ساتھ مسکرائے اور عرض کیا: اے پروردگار! مجھے اپنی توفیق سے اس بات پر قائم رکھ کہ میں تیری اس نعمت کا شکر بجا لاتا رہوں جو تو نے مجھ پر اور میرے والدین پر انعام فرمائی ہے اور میں ایسے نیک عمل کرتا رہوں جن سے تو راضی ہوتا ہے اور مجھے اپنی رحمت سے اپنے خاص قرب والے نیکوکار بندوں میں داخل فرما لے

So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants."

He said, "My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals."

اور کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ ہم نے حرمِ (کعبہ) کو جائے امان بنا دیا ہے اور اِن کے اِردگرِد کے لوگ اُچک لئے جاتے ہیں، تو کیا (پھر بھی) وہ باطل پر ایمان رکھتے اور اﷲ کے احسان کی ناشکری کرتے رہیں گے

Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?

Alam taraw anna Allaha sakhkharalakum ma fee assamawati wamafee al-ardi waasbagha AAalaykum niAAamahu thahiratanwabatinatan wamina annasi man yujadilufee Allahi bighayri AAilmin wala hudan walakitabin muneer

(لوگو!) کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اﷲ نے تمہارے لئے ان تمام چیزوں کو مسخّر فرما دیا ہے جو آسمانوں میں ہیں اور جو زمین میں ہیں، اور اس نے اپنی ظاہری اور باطنی نعمتیں تم پر پوری کر دی ہیں۔ اور لوگوں میں کچھ ایسے (بھی) ہیں جو اﷲ کے بارے میں جھگڑا کرتے ہیں بغیر علم کے اور بغیر ہدایت کے اور بغیر روشن کتاب (کی دلیل) کے

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

کیا آپ نے نہیں دیکھا کہ کشتیاں سمندر میں اﷲ کی نعمت سے چلتی ہیں تاکہ وہ تمہیں اپنی کچھ نشانیاں دکھا دے۔ بیشک اس میں ہر بڑے صابر و شاکر کے لئے نشانیاں ہیں

— English

Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by the favor of Allah that He may show you of His signs? Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

— Transliteration

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum ith jaatkumjunoodun faarsalna AAalayhim reehan wajunoodan lamtarawha wakana Allahu bimataAAmaloona baseera

اے ایمان والو! اپنے اوپر اللہ کا احسان یاد کرو جب (کفار کی) فوجیں تم پر آپہنچیں، تو ہم نے ان پر ہوا اور (فرشتوں کے) لشکروں کو بھیجا جنہیں تم نے نہیں دیکھا اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اسے خوب دیکھنے والا ہے

O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of angels] you did not see. And ever is Allah, of what you do, Seeing.

وَاِذۡ تَقُوۡلُ لِلَّذِىۡۤ اَنۡعَمَ اللّٰهُ عَلَيۡهِ وَاَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِ اَمۡسِكۡ عَلَيۡكَ زَوۡجَكَ وَاتَّقِ اللّٰهَ وَتُخۡفِىۡ فِىۡ نَفۡسِكَ مَا اللّٰهُ مُبۡدِيۡهِ وَتَخۡشَى النَّاسَ ‌ۚ وَاللّٰهُ اَحَقُّ اَنۡ تَخۡشٰٮهُ ؕ فَلَمَّا قَضٰى زَيۡدٌ مِّنۡهَا وَطَرًا زَوَّجۡنٰكَهَا لِكَىۡ لَا يَكُوۡنَ عَلَى الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ حَرَجٌ فِىۡۤ اَزۡوَاجِ اَدۡعِيَآٮِٕهِمۡ اِذَا قَضَوۡا مِنۡهُنَّ وَطَرًا ؕ وَكَانَ اَمۡرُ اللّٰهِ مَفۡعُوۡلاً‏ 

— Transliteration

Wa-ith taqoolu lillatheeanAAama Allahu AAalayhi waanAAamta AAalayhi amsik AAalaykazawjaka wattaqi Allaha watukhfee fee nafsika maAllahu mubdeehi watakhsha annasa wallahuahaqqu an takhshahu falamma qadazaydun minha wataran zawwajnakahalikay la yakoona AAala almu/mineena harajunfee azwaji adAAiya-ihim itha qadawminhunna wataran wakana amru Allahi mafAAoola

Urdu —

اور (اے حبیب!) یاد کیجئے جب آپ نے اس شخص سے فرمایا جس پر اللہ نے انعام فرمایا تھا اور اس پر آپ نے (بھی) اِنعام فرمایا تھا کہ تُو اپنی بیوی (زینب) کو اپنی زوجیت میں روکے رکھ اور اللہ سے ڈر، اور آپ اپنے دل میں وہ بات٭ پوشیدہ رکھ رہے تھے جِسے اللہ ظاہر فرمانے والا تھا اور آپ (دل میں حیاءً) لوگوں (کی طعنہ زنی) کا خوف رکھتے تھے۔ (اے حبیب! لوگوں کو خاطر میں لانے کی کوئی ضرورت نہ تھی) اور فقط اللہ ہی زیادہ حق دار ہے کہ آپ اس کا خوف رکھیں (اور وہ آپ سے بڑھ کر کس میں ہے؟)، پھر جب (آپ کے متبنٰی) زید نے اسے طلاق دینے کی غرض پوری کرلی، تو ہم نے اس سے آپ کا نکاح کر دیا تاکہ مومنوں پر ان کے منہ بولے بیٹوں کی بیویوں (کے ساتھ نکاح) کے بارے میں کوئی حَرج نہ رہے جبکہ (طلاق دے کر) وہ ان سے بے غَرض ہو گئے ہوں، اور اللہ کا حکم تو پورا کیا جانے والا ہی تھا

— English

And [remember, O Muhammad], when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you bestowed favor, "Keep your wife and fear Allah," while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him. So when Zayd had no longer any need for her, We married her to you in order that there not be upon the believers any discomfort concerning the wives of their adopted sons when they no longer have need of them. And ever is the command of Allah accomplished.

اور ہم نے ان باشندوں کے اور ان بستیوں کے درمیان جن میں ہم نے برکت دے رکھی تھی، (یمن سے شام تک) نمایاں (اور) متصل بستیاں آباد کر دی تھیں، اور ہم نے ان میں آمد و رفت (کے دوران آرام کرنے) کی منزلیں مقرر کر رکھی تھیں کہ تم لوگ ان میں راتوں کو (بھی) اور دنوں کو (بھی) بے خوف ہو کر چلتے پھرتے رہو

And We placed between them and the cities which We had blessed [many] visible cities. And We determined between them the [distances of] journey, [saying], "Travel between them by night or day in safety."

Ya ayyuha annasuothkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum hal min khaliqinghayru Allahi yarzuqukum mina assama-i wal-ardila ilaha illa huwa faanna tu/fakoon

اے لوگو! اپنے اوپر اﷲ کے انعام کو یاد کرو، کیا اﷲ کے سوا کوئی اور خالق ہے جو تمہیں آسمان اور زمین سے روزی دے، اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، پس تم کہاں بہکے پھرتے ہو

— English

O mankind, remember the favor of Allah upon you. Is there any creator other than Allah who provides for you from the heaven and earth? There is no deity except Him, so how are you deluded?

And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself.

وَاِذَا مَسَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَا رَبَّهٗ مُنِيۡبًا اِلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ اِذَا خَوَّلَهٗ نِعۡمَةً مِّنۡهُ نَسِىَ مَا كَانَ يَدۡعُوۡۤا اِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ وَجَعَلَ لِلّٰهِ اَنۡدَادًا لِّيُضِلَّ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِهٖ‌ؕ قُلۡ تَمَتَّعۡ بِكُفۡرِكَ قَلِيۡلًا ‌ۖ اِنَّكَ مِنۡ اَصۡحٰبِ النَّارِ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wa-itha massa al-insana durrundaAAa rabbahu muneeban ilayhi thumma ithakhawwalahu niAAmatan minhu nasiya ma kana yadAAooilayhi min qablu wajaAAala lillahi andadan liyudillaAAan sabeelihi qul tamattaAA bikufrika qaleelan innaka min as-habiannar

اور جب انسان کو کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو وہ اپنے رب کو اسی کی طرف رجوع کرتے ہوئے پکارتا ہے، پھر جب (اللہ) اُسے اپنی جانب سے کوئی نعمت بخش دیتا ہے تو وہ اُس (تکلیف) کو بھول جاتا ہے جس کے لئے وہ پہلے دعا کیا کرتا تھا اور (پھر) اللہ کے لئے (بتوں کو) شریک ٹھہرانے لگتا ہے تاکہ (دوسرے لوگوں کو بھی) اس کی راہ سے بھٹکا دے، فرما دیجئے: (اے کافر!) تو اپنے کُفر کے ساتھ تھوڑا سا (ظاہری) فائدہ اٹھا لے، تو بے شک دوزخیوں میں سے ہے

And when adversity touches man, he calls upon his Lord, turning to Him [alone]; then when He bestows on him a favor from Himself, he forgets Him whom he called upon before, and he attributes to Allah equals to mislead [people] from His way. Say, "Enjoy your disbelief for a little; indeed, you are of the companions of the Fire."

پھر جب انسان کو کوئی تکلیف پہنچتی ہے تو ہمیں پکارتا ہے پھر جب ہم اسے اپنی طرف سے کوئی نعمت بخش دیتے ہیں تو کہنے لگتا ہے کہ یہ نعمت تو مجھے (میرے) علم و تدبیر (کی بنا) پر ملی ہے، بلکہ یہ آزمائش ہے مگر ان میں سے اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

And when adversity touches man, he calls upon Us; then when We bestow on him a favor from Us, he says, "I have only been given it because of [my] knowledge." Rather, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.

اور اُس کے اندر (سے) بھاری پہاڑ (نکال کر) اس کے اوپر رکھ دیئے اور اس کے اندر (معدنیات، آبی ذخائر، قدرتی وسائل اور دیگر قوتوں کی) برکت رکھی، اور اس میں (جملہ مخلوق کے لئے) غذائیں (اور سامانِ معیشت) مقرر فرمائے (یہ سب کچھ اس نے) چار دنوں (یعنی چار ارتقائی زمانوں) میں مکمل کیا، (یہ سارا رِزق اصلًا) تمام طلب گاروں (اور حاجت مندوں) کے لئے برابر ہے

And He placed on the earth firmly set mountains over its surface, and He blessed it and determined therein its [creatures'] sustenance in four days without distinction - for [the information] of those who ask.

And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication.

اور اسی طرح ہم نے کسی بستی میں آپ سے پہلے کوئی ڈر سنانے والا نہیں بھیجا مگر وہاں کے وڈیروں اور خوشحال لوگوں نے کہا: بیشک ہم نے اپنے باپ دادا کو ایک طریقہ و مذہب پر پایا اور ہم یقیناً انہی کے نقوشِ قدم کی اقتداء کرنے والے ہیں

— English

And similarly, We did not send before you any warner into a city except that its affluent said, "Indeed, we found our fathers upon a religion, and we are, in their footsteps, following."

قٰلَ اَوَلَوۡ جِئۡتُكُمۡ بِاَهۡدٰى مِمَّا وَجَدتُّمۡ عَلَيۡهِ اٰبَآءَكُمۡ‌ؕ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّا بِمَاۤ اُرۡسِلۡتُمۡ بِهٖ كٰفِرُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Qala awa law ji/tukum bi-ahdamimma wajadtum AAalayhi abaakum qalooinna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroon

[Each warner] said, "Even if I brought you better guidance than that [religion] upon which you found your fathers?" They said, "Indeed we, in that with which you were sent, are disbelievers."

Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.

— Transliteration

Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi ihsanan hamalat-hu ommuhukurhan wawadaAAat-hu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhuthalathoona shahran hatta ithabalagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaAAeena sanatan qala rabbiawziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen

اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کے ساتھ نیک سلوک کرنے کاحکم فرمایا۔ اس کی ماں نے اس کو تکلیف سے (پیٹ میں) اٹھائے رکھا اور اسے تکلیف کے ساتھ جنا، اور اس کا (پیٹ میں) اٹھانا اور اس کا دودھ چھڑانا (یعنی زمانۂ حمل و رضاعت) تیس ماہ (پر مشتمل) ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنی جوانی کو پہنچ جاتا ہے اور (پھر) چالیس سال (کی پختہ عمر) کو پہنچتا ہے، تو کہتا ہے: اے میرے رب: مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیرے اس احسان کا شکر ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھ پر اور میرے والدین پر فرمایا ہے اور یہ کہ میں ایسے نیک اعمال کروں جن سے تو راضی ہو اور میرے لئے میری اولاد میں نیکی اور خیر رکھ دے۔ بیشک میں تیری طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں اور میں یقیناً فرمانبرداروں میں سے ہوںo

— English

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest

لِّيَـغۡفِرَ لَكَ اللّٰهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنۡ ذَنۡۢبِكَ وَمَا تَاَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهٗ عَلَيۡكَ وَيَهۡدِيَكَ صِرَاطًا مُّسۡتَقِيۡمًاۙ‏ 

— Transliteration

Liyaghfira laka Allahu mataqaddama min thanbika wama taakhkhara wayutimmaniAAmatahu AAalayka wayahdiyaka siratan mustaqeema

تاکہ آپ کی خاطر اللہ آپ کی امت (کے اُن تمام اَفراد) کی اگلی پچھلی خطائیں معاف فرما دے٭ (جنہوں نے آپ کے حکم پر جہاد کیے اور قربانیاں دیں) اور (یوں اسلام کی فتح اور امت کی بخشش کی صورت میں) آپ پر اپنی نعمت (ظاہراً و باطناً) پوری فرما دے اور آپ (کے واسطے سے آپ کی امت) کو سیدھے راستہ پر ثابت قدم رکھےo

That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path

So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.

اگر ان کے رب کی رحمت و نعمت ان کی دستگیری نہ کرتی تو وہ ضرور چٹیل میدان میں پھینک دئیے جاتے اور وہ ملامت زدہ ہوتے (مگر اللہ نے انہیں ا س سے محفوط رکھا)o

If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured.
