But Satan caused them to slip out of it and removed them from that [condition] in which they had been. And We said, "Go down, [all of you], as enemies to one another, and you will have upon the earth a place of settlement and provision for a time."

پھر جب اس نے لڑکی جنی تو عرض کرنے لگی: مولا! میں نے تو یہ لڑکی جنی ہے، حالانکہ جو کچھ اس نے جنا تھا اﷲ اسے خوب جانتا تھا، (وہ بولی:) اور لڑکا (جو میں نے مانگا تھا) ہرگز اس لڑکی جیسا نہیں (ہو سکتا) تھا (جو اﷲ نے عطا کی ہے)، اور میں نے اس کا نام ہی مریم (عبادت گزار) رکھ دیا ہے اور بیشک میں اس کو اور اس کی اولاد کو شیطان مردود (کے شر) سے تیری پناہ میں دیتی ہوں

But when she delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for] her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah]."

Indeed, those of you who turned back on the day the two armies met, it was Satan who caused them to slip because of some [blame] they had earned. But Allah has already forgiven them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

کیا آپ نے اِن (منافقوں) کو نہیں دیکھا جو (زبان سے) دعوٰی کرتے ہیں کہ وہ اس (کتاب یعنی قرآن) پر ایمان لائے جوآپ کی طرف اتارا گیا اور ان (آسمانی کتابوں) پر بھی جو آپ سے پہلے اتاری گئیں (مگر) چاہتے یہ ہیں کہ اپنے مقدمات (فیصلے کے لئے) شیطان (یعنی احکامِ الٰہی سے سرکشی پر مبنی قانون) کی طرف لے جائیں حالانکہ انہیں حکم دیا جا چکا ہے کہ اس کا (کھلا) انکار کر دیں، اور شیطان تویہی چاہتا ہے کہ انہیں دور دراز گمراہی میں بھٹکاتا رہے

Have you not seen those who claim to have believed in what was revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you? They wish to refer legislation to Taghut, while they were commanded to reject it; and Satan wishes to lead them far astray.

Wa-itha jaahum amrun minaal-amni awi alkhawfi athaAAoo bihi walaw raddoohu ilaarrasooli wa-ila olee al-amri minhum laAAalimahuallatheena yastanbitoonahu minhum walawla fadluAllahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu lattabaAAtumuashshaytana illa qaleela

اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی خبر امن یا خوف کی آتی ہے تو وہ اسے پھیلا دیتے ہیں اور اگر وہ (بجائے شہرت دینے کے) اسے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور اپنے میں سے صاحبانِ امر کی طرف لوٹادیتے تو ضرور ان میں سے وہ لوگ جو (کسی) بات کانتیجہ اخذ کرسکتے ہیں اس (خبر کی حقیقت) کو جان لیتے، اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو یقیناً چند ایک کے سوا تم (سب) شیطان کی پیروی کرنے لگتے

And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.

Waqad nazzala AAalaykum fee alkitabian itha samiAAtum ayati Allahiyukfaru biha wayustahzao biha fala taqAAudoomaAAahum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethinghayrihi innakum ithan mithluhum inna Allaha jamiAAualmunafiqeena walkafireena fee jahannamajameeAAa

اور بیشک (اللہ نے) تم پر کتاب میں یہ (حکم) نازل فرمایا ہے کہ جب تم سنو کہ اللہ کی آیتوں کا انکار کیا جا رہا ہے اور ان کا مذاق اُڑایا جا رہا ہے تو تم ان لوگوں کے ساتھ مت بیٹھو یہاں تک کہ وہ (انکار اور تمسخر کو چھوڑ کر) کسی دوسری بات میں مشغول ہو جائیں۔ ورنہ تم بھی انہی جیسے ہو جاؤ گے۔ بیشک اللہ منافقوں اور کافروں سب کو دوزخ میں جمع کرنے والا ہےo

And it has already come down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah [recited], they are denied [by them] and ridiculed; so do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together -

وَمَا مِنۡ دَآبَّةٍ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ وَلَا طٰۤٮِٕرٍ يَّطِيۡرُ بِجَنَاحَيۡهِ اِلَّاۤ اُمَمٌ اَمۡثَالُـكُمۡؕ مَا فَرَّطۡنَا فِىۡ الۡـكِتٰبِ مِنۡ شَىۡءٍ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّهِمۡ يُحۡشَرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardiwala ta-irin yateeru bijanahayhi illaomamun amthalukum ma farratna feealkitabi min shay-in thumma ila rabbihim yuhsharoon

اور (اے انسانو!) کوئی بھی چلنے پھرنے والا (جانور) اور پرندہ جو اپنے دو بازوؤں سے اڑتا ہو (ایسا) نہیں ہے مگر یہ کہ (بہت سی صفات میں) وہ سب تمہارے ہی مماثل طبقات ہیں،٭ ہم نے کتاب میں کوئی چیز نہیں چھوڑی (جسے صراحۃً یا اشارۃً بیان نہ کردیا ہو) پھر سب (لوگ) اپنے رب کے پاس جمع کئے جائیں گے

And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

Then why, when Our punishment came to them, did they not humble themselves? But their hearts became hardened, and Satan made attractive to them that which they were doing.

Wa-itha raayta allatheenayakhoodoona fee ayatina faaAAridAAanhum hatta yakhoodoo fee hadeethinghayrihi wa-imma yunsiyannaka ashshaytanufala taqAAud baAAda aththikra maAAaalqawmi aththalimeen

اور جب تم ایسے لوگوں کو دیکھو جو ہماری آیتوں میں (کج بحثی اور استہزاء میں) مشغول ہوں تو تم ان سے کنارہ کش ہوجایا کرو یہاں تک کہ وہ کسی دوسری بات میں مشغول ہوجائیں، اور اگر شیطان تمہیں (یہ بات) بھلا دے تو یاد آنے کے بعد تم (کبھی بھی) ظالم قوم کے ساتھ نہ بیٹھا کرو

And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.

And of the grazing livestock are carriers [of burdens] and those [too] small. Eat of what Allah has provided for you and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

And he swore [by Allah] to them, "Indeed, I am to you from among the sincere advisors."
فَدَلّٰٮهُمَا بِغُرُوۡرٍۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتۡ لَهُمَا سَوۡءٰتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخۡصِفٰنِ عَلَيۡهِمَا مِنۡ وَّرَقِ الۡجَـنَّةِؕ وَنَادٰٮهُمَا رَبُّهُمَاۤ اَلَمۡ اَنۡهَكُمَا عَنۡ تِلۡكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَاَقُل لَّـكُمَاۤ اِنَّ الشَّيۡطٰنَ لَـكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُّبِيۡنٌ
— Transliteration
Fadallahuma bighuroorin falammathaqa ashshajarata badat lahuma saw-atuhumawatafiqa yakhsifani AAalayhimamin waraqi aljannati wanadahuma rabbuhumaalam anhakuma AAan tilkuma ashshajaratiwaaqul lakuma inna ashshaytana lakumaAAaduwwun mubeen

So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"

پھر شیطان نے دونوں کے دل میں وسوسہ ڈالا تاکہ ان کی شرم گاہیں جو ان (کی نظروں) سے پوشیدہ تھیں ان پر ظاہر کر دے اور کہنے لگا: (اے آدم و حوا!) تمہارے رب نے تمہیں اس درخت (کا پھل کھانے) سے نہیں روکا مگر (صرف اس لئے کہ اسے کھانے سے) تم دونوں فرشتے بن جاؤ گے (یعنی علائقِ بشری سے پاک ہو جاؤ گے) یا تم دونوں (اس میں) ہمیشہ رہنے والے بن جاؤ گے (یعنی اس مقامِ قرب سے کبھی محروم نہیں کئے جاؤ گے)

But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."

Ya banee adama layaftinannakumu ashshaytanu kama akhrajaabawaykum mina aljannati yanziAAu AAanhuma libasahumaliyuriyahuma saw-atihima innahu yarakumhuwa waqabeeluhu min haythu la tarawnahum innajaAAalna ashshayateena awliyaa lillatheenala yu/minoon

اے اولادِ آدم! (کہیں) تمہیں شیطان فتنہ میں نہ ڈال دے جس طرح اس نے تمہارے ماں باپ کو جنت سے نکال دیا، ان سے ان کا لباس اتروا دیا تاکہ انہیں ان کی شرم گاہیں دکھا دے۔ بیشک وہ (خود) اور اس کا قبیلہ تمہیں (ایسی ایسی جگہوں سے) دیکھتا (رہتا) ہے جہاں سے تم انہیں نہیں دیکھ سکتے۔ بیشک ہم نے شیطانوں کو ایسے لوگوں کا دوست بنا دیا ہے جو ایمان نہیں رکھتے

O children of Adam, let not Satan tempt you as he removed your parents from Paradise, stripping them of their clothing to show them their private parts. Indeed, he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you do not see them. Indeed, We have made the devils allies to those who do not believe.

[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet.

اور جب شیطان نے ان (کافروں) کے لئے ان کے اَعمال خوش نما کر دکھائے اور اس نے (ان سے) کہا: آج لوگوں میں سے کوئی تم پر غالب نہیں (ہو سکتا) اور بیشک میں تمہیں پناہ دینے والا (مددگار) ہوں۔ پھر جب دونوں فوجوں نے ایک دوسرے کو (مقابل) دیکھ لیا تو وہ الٹے پاؤں بھاگ گیا اور کہنے لگا: بیشک میں تم سے بے زار ہوں، یقیناً میں وہ (کچھ) دیکھ رہا ہوں جو تم نہیں دیکھتے، بیشک میں اللہ سے ڈرتا ہوں، اور اللہ سخت عذاب دینے والا ہے

And [remember] when Satan made their deeds pleasing to them and said, "No one can overcome you today from among the people, and indeed, I am your protector." But when the two armies sighted each other, he turned on his heels and said, "Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I see what you do not see; indeed I fear Allah. And Allah is severe in penalty."

And he said to the one whom he knew would go free, "Mention me before your master." But Satan made him forget the mention [to] his master, and Joseph remained in prison several years.

— Transliteration
WarafaAAa abawayhi AAala alAAarshiwakharroo lahu sujjadan waqala ya abati hathata/weelu ru/yaya min qablu qad jaAAalaha rabbee haqqanwaqad ahsana bee ith akhrajanee mina assijniwajaa bikum mina albadwi min baAAdi an nazagha ashshaytanubaynee wabayna ikhwatee inna rabbee lateefun limayashao innahu huwa alAAaleemu alhakeem

اور یوسف (علیہ السلام) نے اپنے والدین کو اوپر تخت پر بٹھا لیا اور وہ (سب) یوسف (علیہ السلام) کے لئے سجدہ میں گر پڑے، اور یوسف (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: اے ابا جان! یہ میرے (اس) خواب کی تعبیر ہے جو (بہت) پہلے آیا تھا (اکثر مفسرین کے نزدیک اسے چالیس سال کا عرصہ گزر گیا تھا) اور بیشک میرے رب نے اسے سچ کر دکھایا ہے، اور بیشک اس نے مجھ پر (بڑا) احسان فرمایا جب مجھے جیل سے نکالا اور آپ سب کو صحرا سے (یہاں) لے آیا اس کے بعد کہ شیطان نے میرے اور میرے بھائیوں کے درمیان فساد پیدا کر دیا تھا، اور بیشک میرا رب جس چیز کو چاہے (اپنی) تدبیر سے آسان فرما دے، بیشک وہی خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے

And he raised his parents upon the throne, and they bowed to him in prostration. And he said, "O my father, this is the explanation of my vision of before. My Lord has made it reality. And He was certainly good to me when He took me out of prison and brought you [here] from bedouin life after Satan had induced [estrangement] between me and my brothers. Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.

Waqala ashshaytanulamma qudiya al-amru inna Allaha waAAadakumwaAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kanaliya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum fastajabtumlee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma anabimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya inneekafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna aththalimeenalahum AAathabun aleem

اور شیطان کہے گا جبکہ فیصلہ ہو چکے گا کہ بیشک اللہ نے تم سے سچا وعدہ کیا تھا اور میں نے (بھی) تم سے وعدہ کیا تھا، سو میں نے تم سے وعدہ خلافی کی ہے، اور مجھے (دنیا میں) تم پر کسی قسم کا زور نہیں تھا سوائے اس کے کہ میں نے تمہیں (باطل کی طرف) بلایا سو تم نے (اپنے مفاد کی خاطر) میری دعوت قبول کی، اب تم مجھے ملامت نہ کرو بلکہ (خود) اپنے آپ کو ملامت کرو۔ نہ میں (آج) تمہاری فریاد رسی کرسکتا ہوں اور نہ تم میری فریاد رسی کر سکتے ہو۔ اس سے پہلے جو تم مجھے (اللہ کا) شریک ٹھہراتے رہے ہو بیشک میں (آج) اس سے انکار کرتا ہوں۔ یقیناً ظالموں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."

And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion.

Then will you take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange.

He said, "Did you see when we retired to the rock? Indeed, I forgot [there] the fish. And none made me forget it except Satan - that I should mention it. And it took its course into the sea amazingly".

Wama arsalna min qablika minrasoolin wala nabiyyin illa itha tamannaalqa ashshaytanu fee omniyyatihi fayansakhuAllahu ma yulqee ashshaytanu thummayuhkimu Allahu ayatihi wallahuAAaleemun hakeem

اور ہم نے آپ سے پہلے کوئی رسول نہیں بھیجا اور نہ کوئی نبی مگر (سب کے ساتھ یہ واقعہ گزرا کہ) جب اس (رسول یا نبی) نے (لوگوں پر کلامِ الٰہی) پڑھا (تو) شیطان نے (لوگوں کے ذہنوں میں) اس (نبی کے) پڑھے ہوئے (یعنی تلاوت شدہ) کلام میں (اپنی طرف سے باطل شبہات اور فاسد خیالات کو) ملا دیا، سو شیطان جو (وسوسے سننے والوں کے ذہنوں میں) ڈالتا ہے اﷲ انہیں زائل فرما دیتا ہے پھر اللہ اپنی آیتوں کو (اہلِ ایمان کے دلوں میں) نہایت مضبوط کر دیتا ہے، اور اﷲ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے

And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

LiyajAAala ma yulqee ashshaytanufitnatan lillatheena fee quloobihim maradun walqasiyatiquloobuhum wa-inna aththalimeenalafee shiqaqin baAAeed

[That is] so He may make what Satan throws in a trial for those within whose hearts is disease and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَتَّبِعُوۡا خُطُوٰتِ الشَّيۡطٰنِؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَّبِعۡ خُطُوٰتِ الشَّيۡطٰنِ فَاِنَّهٗ يَاۡمُرُ بِالۡـفَحۡشَآءِ وَالۡمُنۡكَرِؕ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهٗ مَا زَكٰى مِنۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ اَحَدٍ اَبَدًا وَّلٰـكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُزَكِّىۡ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُؕ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيۡعٌ عَلِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tattabiAAoo khutuwati ashshaytaniwaman yattabiAA khutuwati ashshaytanifa-innahu ya/muru bilfahsha-i walmunkariwalawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhuma zaka minkum min ahadin abadan walakinnaAllaha yuzakkee man yashao wallahusameeAAun AAaleem

اے ایمان والو! شیطان کے راستوں پر نہ چلو، اور جو شخص شیطان کے نقوشِ قدم پر چلتا ہے تو وہ یقیناً بے حیائی اور برے کاموں (کے فروغ) کا حکم دیتا ہے، اور اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو تم میں سے کوئی شخص بھی کبھی (اس گناہِ تہمت کے داغ سے) پاک نہ ہو سکتا لیکن اللہ جسے چاہتا ہے پاک فرما دیتا ہے، اور اللہ خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے

O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him. [Moses] said, "This is from the work of Satan. [The hypocrites are] like the example of Satan when he says to man, "Disbelieve." But when he disbelieves, he says, "Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds."
