اور طلاق یافتہ عورتیں اپنے آپ کو تین حیض تک روکے رکھیں، اور ان کے لئے جائز نہیں کہ وہ اسے چھپائیں جو اﷲ نے ان کے رحموں میں پیدا فرما دیا ہو، اگر وہ اﷲ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر ایمان رکھتی ہیں، اور اس مدت کے اندر ان کے شوہروں کو انہیں (پھر) اپنی زوجیت میں لوٹا لینے کا حق زیادہ ہے اگر وہ اصلاح کا ارادہ کر لیں، اور دستور کے مطابق عورتوں کے بھی مردوں پر اسی طرح حقوق ہیں جیسے مردوں کے عورتوں پر، البتہ مردوں کو ان پر فضیلت ہے، اور اﷲ بڑا غالب بڑی حکمت والا ہے

Divorced women remain in waiting for three periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have more right to take them back in this [period] if they want reconciliation. And due to the wives is similar to what is expected of them, according to what is reasonable. But the men have a degree over them [in responsibility and authority]. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

Attalaqu marratanifa-imsakun bimaAAroofin aw tasreehun bi-ihsaninwala yahillu lakum an ta/khuthoo mimmaataytumoohunna shay-an illa an yakhafaalla yuqeema hudooda Allahi fa-inkhiftum alla yuqeema hudooda Allahifala junaha AAalayhima feema iftadatbihi tilka hudoodu Allahi fala taAAtadoohawaman yataAAadda hudooda Allahi faola-ikahumu aththalimoon

طلاق (صرف) دو بار (تک) ہے، پھر یا تو (بیوی کو) اچھے طریقے سے (زوجیت میں) روک لینا ہے یا بھلائی کے ساتھ چھوڑ دینا ہے، اور تمہارے لئے جائز نہیں کہ جو چیزیں تم انہیں دے چکے ہو اس میں سے کچھ واپس لو سوائے اس کے کہ دونوں کو اندیشہ ہو کہ (اب رشتۂ زوجیت برقرار رکھتے ہوئے) دونوں اﷲ کی حدود کو قائم نہ رکھ سکیں گے، پھر اگر تمہیں اندیشہ ہو کہ دونوں اﷲ کی حدود کو قائم نہ رکھ سکیں گے، سو (اندریں صورت) ان پر کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ بیوی (خود) کچھ بدلہ دے کر (اس تکلیف دہ بندھن سے) آزادی لے لے، یہ اﷲ کی (مقرر کی ہوئی) حدیں ہیں، پس تم ان سے آگے مت بڑھو اور جو لوگ اﷲ کی حدود سے تجاوز کرتے ہیں سو وہی لوگ ظالم ہیں

Divorce is twice. Then, either keep [her] in an acceptable manner or release [her] with good treatment. And it is not lawful for you to take anything of what you have given them unless both fear that they will not be able to keep [within] the limits of Allah. But if you fear that they will not keep [within] the limits of Allah, then there is no blame upon either of them concerning that by which she ransoms herself. These are the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah - it is those who are the wrongdoers.

اور جب تم عورتوں کو طلاق دو اور وہ اپنی عدت (پوری ہونے) کو آپہنچیں تو انہیں اچھے طریقے سے (اپنی زوجیّت میں) روک لو یا انہیں اچھے طریقے سے چھوڑ دو، اور انہیں محض تکلیف دینے کے لئے نہ روکے رکھو کہ (ان پر) زیادتی کرتے رہو، اور جو کوئی ایسا کرے پس اس نے اپنی ہی جان پر ظلم کیا، اور اﷲ کے احکام کو مذاق نہ بنا لو، اور یاد کرو اﷲ کی اس نعمت کو جو تم پر (کی گئی) ہے اور اس کتاب کو جو اس نے تم پر نازل فرمائی ہے اور دانائی (کی باتوں) کو (جن کی اس نے تمہیں تعلیم دی ہے) وہ تمہیں (اس امر کی) نصیحت فرماتا ہے، اور اﷲ سے ڈرو اور جان لو کہ بیشک اﷲ سب کچھ جاننے والا ہے

And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all things.

Walwalidatu yurdiAAnaawladahunna hawlayni kamilayni liman aradaan yutimma arradaAAata waAAala almawloodilahu rizquhunna wakiswatuhunna bilmaAAroofi latukallafu nafsun illa wusAAaha la tudarrawalidatun biwaladiha wala mawloodun lahubiwaladihi waAAala alwarithi mithlu thalikafa-in arada fisalan AAan taradinminhuma watashawurin fala junahaAAalayhima wa-in aradtum an tastardiAAoo awladakumfala junaha AAalaykum itha sallamtum maataytum bilmaAAroofi wattaqoo AllahawaAAlamoo anna Allaha bima taAAmaloona baseer

اور مائیں اپنے بچوں کو پورے دو برس تک دودھ پلائیں یہ (حکم) اس کے لئے ہے جو دودھ پلانے کی مدت پوری کرنا چاہے، اور دودھ پلانے والی ماؤں کا کھانا اور پہننا دستور کے مطابق بچے کے باپ پر لازم ہے، کسی جان کو اس کی طاقت سے بڑھ کر تکلیف نہ دی جائے، (اور) نہ ماں کو اس کے بچے کے باعث نقصان پہنچایا جائے اور نہ باپ کو اس کی اولاد کے سبب سے، اور وارثوں پر بھی یہی حکم عائد ہوگا، پھر اگر ماں باپ دونوں باہمی رضا مندی اور مشورے سے (دو برس سے پہلے ہی) دودھ چھڑانا چاہیں تو ان پر کوئی گناہ نہیں، اور پھر اگر تم اپنی اولاد کو (دایہ سے) دودھ پلوانے کا ارادہ رکھتے ہو تب بھی تم پر کوئی گناہ نہیں جب کہ جو تم دستور کے مطابق دیتے ہو انہیں ادا کر دو، اور اﷲ سے ڈرتے رہو اور یہ جان لو کہ بیشک جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اﷲ اسے خوب دیکھنے والا ہے

Mothers may breastfeed their children two complete years for whoever wishes to complete the nursing [period]. Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity. No mother should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child. And upon the [father's] heir is [a duty] like that [of the father]. And if they both desire weaning through mutual consent from both of them and consultation, there is no blame upon either of them. And if you wish to have your children nursed by a substitute, there is no blame upon you as long as you give payment according to what is acceptable. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Seeing of what you do.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola yahillu lakum an tarithoo annisaakarhan wala taAAduloohunna litathhaboobibaAAdi ma ataytumoohunna illa anya/teena bifahishatin mubayyinatin waAAashiroohunnabilmaAAroofi fa-in karihtumoohunna faAAasa antakrahoo shay-an wayajAAala Allahu feehi khayran katheera

O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good.

اور اگر تمہیں ان دونوں کے درمیان مخالفت کا اندیشہ ہو تو تم ایک مُنصِف مرد کے خاندان سے اور ایک مُنصِف عورت کے خاندان سے مقرر کر لو، اگر وہ دونوں (مُنصِف) صلح کرانے کا اِرادہ رکھیں تو اللہ ان دونوں کے درمیان موافقت پیدا فرما دے گا، بیشک اللہ خوب جاننے والا خبردار ہے

And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause it between them. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Acquainted [with all things].

اور اگر کوئی عورت اپنے شوہر کی جانب سے زیادتی یا بے رغبتی کا خوف رکھتی ہو تو دونوں (میاں بیوی) پر کوئی حرج نہیں کہ وہ آپس میں کسی مناسب بات پر صلح کر لیں، اور صلح (حقیقت میں) اچھی چیز ہے اور طبیعتوں میں (تھوڑا بہت) بخل (ضرور) رکھ دیا گیا ہے، اور اگر تم احسان کرو اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کرو تو بیشک اللہ ان کاموں سے جو تم کر رہے ہو (اچھی طرح) خبردار ہےo

And if a woman fears from her husband contempt or evasion, there is no sin upon them if they make terms of settlement between them - and settlement is best. And present in [human] souls is stinginess. But if you do good and fear Allah - then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.

اور اگر دونوں (میاں بیوی) جدا ہو جائیں تواللہ ہر ایک کو اپنی کشائش سے (ایک دوسرے سے) بے نیاز کر دے گا اور اللہ بڑی وسعت والا بڑی حکمت والا ہےo

But if they separate [by divorce], Allah will enrich each [of them] from His abundance. And ever is Allah Encompassing and Wise.

— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha nakahtumu almu/minati thumma tallaqtumoohunnamin qabli an tamassoohunna fama lakum AAalayhinna minAAiddatin taAAtaddoonaha famattiAAoohunna wasarrihoohunnasarahan jameela

اے ایمان والو! جب تم مومن عورتوں سے نکاح کرو پھر تم انہیں طلاق دے دو قبل اس کے کہ تم انہیں مَس کرو (یعنی خلوتِ صحیحہ کرو) تو تمہارے لئے ان پر کوئی عدّت (واجب) نہیں ہے کہ تم اسے شمار کرنے لگو، پس انہیں کچھ مال و متاع دو اور انہیں اچھی طرح حُسنِ سلوک کے ساتھ رخصت کرو

O You who have believed, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them, then there is not for you any waiting period to count concerning them. So provide for them and give them a gracious release.

— Transliteration
Wallatheena yuthahiroonamin nisa-ihim thumma yaAAoodoona lima qaloofatahreeru raqabatin min qabli an yatamassa thalikumtooAAathoona bihi wallahu bimataAAmaloona khabeer

And those who pronounce thihar from their wives and then [wish to] go back on what they said - then [there must be] the freeing of a slave before they touch one another. That is what you are admonished thereby; and Allah is Acquainted with what you do.

فَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ شَهۡرَيۡنِ مُتَتَابِعَيۡنِ مِنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ يَّتَمَآسَّاؕ فَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَسۡتَطِعۡ فَاِطۡعَامُ سِتِّيۡنَ مِسۡكِيۡنًاؕ ذٰلِكَ لِتُؤۡمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوۡلِهٖؕ وَتِلۡكَ حُدُوۡدُ اللّٰهِؕ وَلِلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ عَذَابٌ اَلِیْمٌ
— Transliteration
Faman lam yajid fasiyamushahrayni mutatabiAAayni min qabli an yatamassafaman lam yastatiAA fa-itAAamu sitteenamiskeenan thalika litu/minoo billahiwarasoolihi watilka hudoodu Allahi walilkafireenaAAathabun aleem

پھر جسے (غلام یا باندی) میسّر نہ ہو تو دو ماہ متواتر روزے رکھنا (لازم ہے) قبل اِس کے کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو مَس کریں، پھر جو شخص اِس کی (بھی) طاقت نہ رکھے تو ساٹھ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا (لازم ہے)، یہ اِس لئے کہ تم اللہ اور اُس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر ایمان رکھو۔ اور یہ اللہ کی (مقرر کردہ) حدود ہیں، اور کافروں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہےo

And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allah and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allah. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

لَا تَجِدُ قَوۡمًا يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ يُوَآدُّوۡنَ مَنۡ حَآدَّ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوۡلَهٗ وَلَوۡ كَانُوۡۤا اٰبَآءَهُمۡ اَوۡ اَبۡنَآءَهُمۡ اَوۡ اِخۡوَانَهُمۡ اَوۡ عَشِيۡرَتَهُمۡؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ كَتَبَ فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمُ الۡاِيۡمَانَ وَاَيَّدَهُمۡ بِرُوۡحٍ مِّنۡهُؕ وَيُدۡخِلُهُمۡ جَنّٰتٍ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُ خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاؕ رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَنۡهُمۡ وَرَضُوۡا عَنۡهُؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ حِزۡبُ اللّٰهِؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ حِزۡبَ اللّٰهِ هُمُ الۡمُفۡلِحُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
La tajidu qawman yu/minoona billahiwalyawmi al-akhiri yuwaddoona man haddaAllaha warasoolahu walaw kanoo abaahumaw abnaahum aw ikhwanahum aw AAasheeratahum ola-ikakataba fee quloobihimu al-eemana waayyadahum biroohinminhu wayudkhiluhum jannatin tajree min tahtihaal-anharu khalideena feeha radiya AllahuAAanhum waradoo AAanhu ola-ika hizbu Allahiala inna hizba Allahi humu almuflihoon

آپ اُن لوگوں کو جو اللہ پر اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں کبھی اس شخص سے دوستی کرتے ہوئے نہ پائیں گے جو اللہ اور اُس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) سے دشمنی رکھتا ہے خواہ وہ اُن کے باپ (اور دادا) ہوں یا بیٹے (اور پوتے) ہوں یا اُن کے بھائی ہوں یا اُن کے قریبی رشتہ دار ہوں۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں میں اُس (اللہ) نے ایمان ثبت فرما دیا ہے اور انہیں اپنی روح (یعنی فیضِ خاص) سے تقویت بخشی ہے، اور انہیں (ایسی) جنتوں میں داخل فرمائے گا جن کے نیچے سے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں، وہ اُن میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں، اللہ اُن سے راضی ہو گیا ہے اور وہ اللہ سے راضی ہو گئے ہیں، یہی اﷲ (والوں) کی جماعت ہے، یاد رکھو! بیشک اﷲ (والوں) کی جماعت ہی مراد پانے والی ہےo

You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred. Those - He has decreed within their hearts faith and supported them with spirit from Him. And We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him - those are the party of Allah. Unquestionably, the party of Allah - they are the successful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ اِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَطَلِّقُوۡهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وَاَحۡصُوا الۡعِدَّةَ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ رَبَّكُمۡۚ لَا تُخۡرِجُوۡهُنَّ مِنۡۢ بُيُوۡتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخۡرُجۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّاۡتِيۡنَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍؕ وَتِلۡكَ حُدُوۡدُ اللّٰهِؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَعَدَّ حُدُوۡدَ اللّٰهِ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَهٗؕ لَا تَدۡرِىۡ لَعَلَّ اللّٰهَ يُحۡدِثُ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِكَ اَمۡرًا
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha annabiyyu ithatallaqtumu annisaa fatalliqoohunnaliAAiddatihinna waahsoo alAAiddata wattaqoo Allaharabbakum la tukhrijoohunna min buyootihinna walayakhrujna illa an ya/teena bifahishatinmubayyinatin watilka hudoodu Allahi wamanyataAAadda hudooda Allahi faqad thalamanafsahu la tadree laAAalla Allaha yuhdithubaAAda thalika amra

اے نبی! (مسلمانوں سے فرما دیں:) جب تم عورتوں کو طلاق دینا چاہو تو اُن کے طُہر کے زمانہ میں انہیں طلاق دو اور عِدّت کو شمار کرو، اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو جو تمہارا رب ہے، اور انہیں اُن کے گھروں سے باہر مت نکالو اور نہ وہ خود باہر نکلیں سوائے اس کے کہ وہ کھلی بے حیائی کر بیٹھیں، اور یہ اللہ کی (مقررّہ) حدیں ہیں، اور جو شخص اللہ کی حدود سے تجاوز کرے تو بیشک اُس نے اپنی جان پر ظلم کیا ہے، (اے شخص!) تو نہیں جانتا شاید اللہ اِس کے (طلاق دینے کے) بعد (رجوع کی) کوئی نئی صورت پیدا فرما دےo

O Prophet, when you [Muslims] divorce women, divorce them for [the commencement of] their waiting period and keep count of the waiting period, and fear Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out of their [husbands'] houses, nor should they [themselves] leave [during that period] unless they are committing a clear immorality. And those are the limits [set by] Allah. And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah has certainly wronged himself. You know not; perhaps Allah will bring about after that a [different] matter.

فَاِذَا بَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمۡسِكُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ اَوۡ فَارِقُوۡهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍ وَّاَشۡهِدُوۡا ذَوَىۡ عَدۡلٍ مِّنۡكُمۡ وَاَقِيۡمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ لِلّٰهِؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ يُوۡعَظُ بِهٖ مَنۡ كَانَ يُؤۡمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهٗ مَخۡرَجًاۙ
— Transliteration
Fa-itha balaghna ajalahunnafaamsikoohunna bimaAAroofin aw fariqoohunna bimaAAroofinwaashhidoo thaway AAadlin minkum waaqeemoo ashshahadatalillahi thalikum yooAAathu bihi man kanayu/minu billahi walyawmi al-akhiriwaman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu makhraja

پھر جب وہ اپنی مقررہ میعاد (کے ختم ہونے) کے قریب پہنچ جائیں تو انہیں بھلائی کے ساتھ (اپنی زوجیت میں) روک لو یا انہیں بھلائی کے ساتھ جدا کردو۔ اور اپنوں میں سے دو عادل مَردوں کو گواہ بنا لو اور گواہی اللہ کے لئے قائم کیا کرو، اِن (باتوں) سے اسی شخص کو نصیحت کی جاتی ہے جو اللہ اور یومِ آخرت پر ایمان رکھتا ہے، اور جو اللہ سے ڈرتا ہے وہ اس کے لئے (دنیا و آخرت کے رنج و غم سے) نکلنے کی راہ پیدا فرما دیتا ہےo

And when they have [nearly] fulfilled their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or part with them according to acceptable terms. And bring to witness two just men from among you and establish the testimony for [the acceptance of] Allah. That is instructed to whoever should believe in Allah and the Last day. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out

وَالّٰٓـىٴِۡ يَٮِٕسۡنَ مِنَ الۡمَحِيۡضِ مِنۡ نِّسَآٮِٕكُمۡ اِنِ ارۡتَبۡتُمۡ فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ ثَلٰثَةُ اَشۡهُرٍ وَّالّٰٓـىٴِۡ لَمۡ يَحِضۡنَؕ وَاُولَاتُ الۡاَحۡمَالِ اَجَلُهُنَّ اَنۡ يَّضَعۡنَ حَمۡلَهُنَّؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهٗ مِنۡ اَمۡرِهٖ یُسْرًا
— Transliteration
Walla-ee ya-isna mina almaheedimin nisa-ikum ini irtabtum faAAiddatuhunna thalathatuashhurin walla-ee lam yahidna waolatual-ahmali ajaluhunna an yadaAAna hamlahunnawaman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu min amrihi yusra

اور تمہاری عورتوں میں سے جو حیض سے مایوس ہو چکی ہوں اگر تمہیں شک ہو (کہ اُن کی عدّت کیا ہوگی) تو اُن کی عدّت تین مہینے ہے اور وہ عورتیں جنہیں (ابھی) حیض نہیں آیا (ان کی بھی یہی عدّت ہے)، اور حاملہ عورتیں (تو) اُن کی عدّت اُن کا وضعِ حمل ہے، اور جو شخص اللہ سے ڈرتا ہے (تو) وہ اس کے کام میں آسانی فرما دیتا ہےo

And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated. And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease.

اَسۡكِنُوۡهُنَّ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ سَكَنۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ وُّجۡدِكُمۡ وَلَا تُضَآرُّوۡهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوۡا عَلَيۡهِنَّؕ وَاِنۡ كُنَّ اُولَاتِ حَمۡلٍ فَاَنۡفِقُوۡا عَلَيۡهِنَّ حَتّٰى يَضَعۡنَ حَمۡلَهُنَّۚ فَاِنۡ اَرۡضَعۡنَ لَـكُمۡ فَاٰتُوۡهُنَّ اُجُوۡرَهُنَّۚ وَاۡتَمِرُوۡا بَيۡنَكُمۡ بِمَعۡرُوۡفٍۚ وَاِنۡ تَعَاسَرۡتُمۡ فَسَتُرۡضِعُ لَهٗۤ اُخۡرٰىؕ
— Transliteration
Askinoohunna min haythu sakantum minwujdikum wala tudarroohunna litudayyiqooAAalayhinna wa-in kunna olati hamlin faanfiqooAAalayhinna hatta yadaAAna hamlahunnafa-in ardaAAna lakum faatoohunna ojoorahunnawa/tamiroo baynakum bimaAAroofin wa-in taAAasartum fasaturdiAAulahu okhra

تم اُن (مطلّقہ) عورتوں کو وہیں رکھو جہاں تم اپنی وسعت کے مطابق رہتے ہو اور انہیں تکلیف مت پہنچاؤ کہ اُن پر (رہنے کا ٹھکانا) تنگ کر دو، اور اگر وہ حاملہ ہوں تو اُن پر خرچ کرتے رہو یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنا بچہ جَن لیں، پھر اگر وہ تمہاری خاطر (بچے کو) دودھ پلائیں تو انہیں اُن کا معاوضہ ادا کرتے رہو، اور آپس میں (ایک دوسرے سے) نیک بات کا مشورہ (حسبِ دستور) کر لیا کرو، اور اگر تم باہم دشواری محسوس کرو تو اسے (اب کوئی) دوسری عورت دودھ پلائے گیo

Lodge them [in a section] of where you dwell out of your means and do not harm them in order to oppress them. And if they should be pregnant, then spend on them until they give birth. And if they breastfeed for you, then give them their payment and confer among yourselves in the acceptable way; but if you are in discord, then there may breastfeed for the father another woman.

عَسٰى رَبُّهٗۤ اِنۡ طَلَّقَكُنَّ اَنۡ يُّبۡدِلَهٗۤ اَزۡوَاجًا خَيۡرًا مِّنۡكُنَّ مُسۡلِمٰتٍ مُّؤۡمِنٰتٍ قٰنِتٰتٍ تٰٓٮِٕبٰتٍ عٰبِدٰتٍ سٰٓٮِٕحٰتٍ ثَيِّبٰتٍ وَّاَبۡكَارًا
— Transliteration
AAasa rabbuhu in tallaqakunnaan yubdilahu azwajan khayran minkunna muslimatinmu/minatin qanitatin ta-ibatinAAabidatin sa-ihatin thayyibatinwaabkara

اگر وہ تمہیں طلاق دے دیں تو عجب نہیں کہ اُن کا رب انہیں تم سے بہتر ازواج بدلہ میں عطا فرما دے (جو) فرمانبردار، ایماندار، اطاعت گزار، توبہ شعار، عبادت گزار، روزہ دار، (بعض) شوہر دیدہ اور (بعض) کنواریاں ہوں گیo

Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than you - submitting [to Allah], believing, devoutly obedient, repentant, worshipping, and traveling - [ones] previously married and virgins.
