Am kuntum shuhadaa ith hadarayaAAqooba almawtu ith qala libaneehi mataAAbudoona min baAAdee qaloo naAAbudu ilahakawa-ilaha aba-ika ibraheema wa-ismaAAeelawa-ishaqa ilahan wahidan wanahnu lahumuslimoon

Marked from your Lord. And Allah 's punishment is not from the wrongdoers [very] far.
وَاِلٰى مَدۡيَنَ اَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبًاؕ قَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوۡا اللّٰهَ مَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰهٍ غَيۡرُهٗؕ وَلَا تَـنۡقُصُوۡا الۡمِكۡيَالَ وَالۡمِيۡزَانَ اِنِّىۡۤ اَرٰٮكُمۡ بِخَيۡرٍ وَّاِنِّىۡۤ اَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ مُّحِيۡطٍ

Wa-ila madyana akhahumshuAAayban qala ya qawmi oAAbudoo Allaha malakum min ilahin ghayruhu wala tanqusooalmikyala walmeezana innee arakumbikhayrin wa-innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawminmuheet

And to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb. He said, "O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. And do not decrease from the measure and the scale. Indeed, I see you in prosperity, but indeed, I fear for you the punishment of an all-encompassing Day.

اور (ادھر) راہ گیروں کا ایک قافلہ آپہنچا تو انہوں نے اپنا پانی بھرنے والا بھیجا سو اس نے اپنا ڈول (اس کنویں میں) لٹکایا، وہ بول اٹھا: خوشخبری ہو یہ ایک لڑکا ہے، اور انہوں نے اسے قیمتی سامانِ تجارت سمجھتے ہوئے چھپا لیا، اور اﷲ ان کاموں کو جو وہ کر رہے تھے خوب جاننے والا ہے

And there came a company of travelers; then they sent their water drawer, and he let down his bucket. He said, "Good news! Here is a boy." And they concealed him, [taking him] as merchandise; and Allah was knowing of what they did.
وَشَرَوۡهُ بِثَمَنٍۢ بَخۡسٍ دَراهِمَ مَعۡدُوۡدَةٍۚ وَكَانُوۡا فِيۡهِ مِنَ الزّٰهِدِيۡنَ

Washarawhu bithamanin bakhsin darahimamaAAdoodatin wakanoo feehi mina azzahideen

And they sold him for a reduced price - a few dirhams - and they were, concerning him, of those content with little.
وَقَالَ الَّذِىۡ اشۡتَرٰٮهُ مِنۡ مِّصۡرَ لِامۡرَاَتِهٖۤ اَكۡرِمِىۡ مَثۡوٰٮهُ عَسٰٓى اَنۡ يَّـنۡفَعَنَاۤ اَوۡ نَـتَّخِذَهٗ وَلَدًاؕ وَكَذٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوۡسُفَ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ وَلِنُعَلِّمَهٗ مِنۡ تَاۡوِيۡلِ الۡاٰحَادِيۡثِؕ وَاللّٰهُ غَالِبٌ عَلٰٓى اَمۡرِهٖ وَلٰـكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Waqala allathee ishtarahumin misra limraatihi akrimee mathwahu AAasaan yanfaAAana aw nattakhithahu waladan wakathalikamakkanna liyoosufa fee al-ardi walinuAAallimahu minta/weeli al-ahadeethi wallahu ghalibunAAala amrihi walakinna akthara annasila yaAAlamoon

اور مصر کے جس شخص نے اسے خریدا تھا (اس کا نام قطفیر تھا اور وہ بادشاہِ مصر ریان بن ولید کا وزیر خزانہ تھا اسے عرف عام میں عزیزِ مصر کہتے تھے) اس نے اپنی بیوی (زلیخا) سے کہا: اسے عزت و اکرام سے ٹھہراؤ! شاید یہ ہمیں نفع پہنچائے یا ہم اسے بیٹا بنا لیں، اور اس طرح ہم نے یوسف (علیہ السلام) کو زمین (مصر) میں استحکام بخشا اور یہ اس لئے کہ ہم اسے باتوں کے انجام تک پہنچنا (یعنی علمِ تعبیرِ رؤیا) سکھائیں، اور اﷲ اپنے کام پر غالب ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

And the one from Egypt who bought him said to his wife, "Make his residence comfortable. Perhaps he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son." And thus, We established Joseph in the land that We might teach him the interpretation of events. And Allah is predominant over His affair, but most of the people do not know.
وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّهٗۤ اٰتَيۡنٰهُ حُكۡمًا وَّعِلۡمًاؕ وَكَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِىۡ الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walamma balagha ashuddahu ataynahuhukman waAAilman wakathalika najzee almuhsineen

اور جب وہ اپنے کمالِ شباب کو پہنچ گیا (تو) ہم نے اسے حکمِ (نبوت) اور علمِ (تعبیر) عطا فرمایا، اور اسی طرح ہم نیکوکاروں کو صلہ بخشا کرتے ہیں

And when Joseph reached maturity, We gave him judgment and knowledge. And thus We reward the doers of good.
وَرَاوَدَتۡهُ الَّتِىۡ هُوَ فِىۡ بَيۡتِهَا عَنۡ نَّـفۡسِهٖ وَغَلَّقَتِ الۡاَبۡوَابَ وَقَالَتۡ هَيۡتَ لَـكَؕ قَالَ مَعَاذَ اللّٰهِ اِنَّهٗ رَبِّىۡۤ اَحۡسَنَ مَثۡوَاىَؕ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُفۡلِحُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Warawadat-hu allatee huwa fee baytihaAAan nafsihi waghallaqati al-abwaba waqalat haytalaka qala maAAatha Allahi innahu rabbee ahsanamathwaya innahu la yuflihu aththalimoon

اور اس عورت (زلیخا) نے جس کے گھر وہ رہتے تھے آپ سے آپ کی ذات کی شدید خواہش کی اور اس نے دروازے (بھی) بند کر دیئے اور کہنے لگی: جلدی آجاؤ (میں تم سے کہتی ہوں)۔ یوسف (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: اﷲ کی پناہ! بیشک وہ (جو تمہارا شوہر ہے) میرا مربّی ہے اس نے مجھے بڑی عزت سے رکھا ہے۔ بیشک ظالم لوگ فلاح نہیں پائیں گے

And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him. She closed the doors and said, "Come, you." He said, "[I seek] the refuge of Allah. Indeed, he is my master, who has made good my residence. Indeed, wrongdoers will not succeed."
وَلَـقَدۡ هَمَّتۡ بِهٖۚ وَهَمَّ بِهَا لَوۡلَاۤ اَنۡ رَّاٰ بُرۡهَانَ رَبِّهٖؕ كَذٰلِكَ لِنَصۡرِفَ عَنۡهُ السُّۤوۡءَ وَالۡـفَحۡشَآءَؕ اِنَّهٗ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Walaqad hammat bihi wahamma biha lawlaan raa burhana rabbihi kathalika linasrifaAAanhu assoo-a walfahshaa innahumin AAibadina almukhlaseen

And she certainly determined [to seduce] him, and he would have inclined to her had he not seen the proof of his Lord. And thus [it was] that We should avert from him evil and immorality. Indeed, he was of Our chosen servants.

وَاِذۡ قَالَ لُقۡمٰنُ لِابۡنِهٖ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهٗ يٰبُنَىَّ لَا تُشۡرِكۡ بِاللّٰهِؔؕ اِنَّ الشِّرۡكَ لَـظُلۡمٌ عَظِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Wa-ith qala luqmanu libnihiwahuwa yaAAithuhu ya bunayya latushrik billahi inna ashshirka lathulmunAAatheem

اور (یاد کیجئے) جب لقمان نے اپنے بیٹے سے کہا اور وہ اسے نصیحت کر رہا تھا: اے میرے فرزند! اﷲ کے ساتھ شرک نہ کرنا، بیشک شِرک بہت بڑا ظلم ہے
— English
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice."

(پھر اَرضِ مقدّس میں پہنچ کر دعا کی:) اے میرے رب! صالحین میں سے مجھے ایک (فرزند) عطا فرما

فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ السَّعۡىَ قَالَ يٰبُنَىَّ اِنِّىۡۤ اَرٰى فِىۡ الۡمَنَامِ اَنِّىۡۤ اَذۡبَحُكَ فَانْظُرۡ مَاذَا تَرٰىؕ قَالَ يٰۤاَبَتِ افۡعَلۡ مَا تُؤۡمَرُ سَتَجِدُنِىۡۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Falamma balagha maAAahu assaAAyaqala ya bunayya innee ara fee almanamiannee athbahuka fanthur mathatara qala ya abati ifAAal ma tu/marusatajidunee in shaa Allahu mina assabireen

پھر جب وہ (اسماعیل علیہ السلام) ان کے ساتھ دوڑ کر چل سکنے (کی عمر) کو پہنچ گیا تو (ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے) فرمایا: اے میرے بیٹے! میں خواب میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں تجھے ذبح کررہا ہوں سو غور کرو کہ تمہاری کیا رائے ہے۔ (اسماعیل علیہ السلام نے) کہا: ابّاجان! وہ کام (فوراً) کر ڈالیے جس کا آپ کو حکم دیا جا رہا ہے۔ اگر اﷲ نے چاہا تو آپ مجھے صبر کرنے والوں میں سے پائیں گے

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast."

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَاتَّبَعَتۡهُمۡ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمۡ بِاِيۡمَانٍ اَلۡحَـقۡنَا بِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ وَمَاۤ اَلَـتۡنٰهُمۡ مِّنۡ عَمَلِهِمۡ مِّنۡ شَىۡءٍؕ كُلُّ امۡرِیءٍۢ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِيۡنٌ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena amanoo wattabaAAat-humthurriyyatuhum bi-eemanin alhaqnabihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum minAAamalihim min shay-in kullu imri-in bima kasaba raheen

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور اُن کی اولاد نے ایمان میں اُن کی پیروی کی، ہم اُن کی اولاد کو (بھی) (درجاتِ جنت میں) اُن کے ساتھ ملا دیں گے (خواہ اُن کے اپنے عمل اس درجہ کے نہ بھی ہوں یہ صرف اُن کے صالح آباء کے اکرام میں ہوگا) اور ہم اُن (صالح آباء) کے ثوابِ اعمال سے بھی کوئی کمی نہیں کریں گے، (علاوہ اِس کے) ہر شخص اپنے ہی عمل (کی جزا و سزا) میں گرفتار ہوگاo

And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.

هُوَ الَّذِىۡ بَعَثَ فِىۡ الۡاُمِّيّٖنَ رَسُوۡلاً مِّنۡهُمۡ يَتۡلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ وَيُزَكِّيۡهِمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الۡكِتٰبَ وَالۡحِكۡمَةَ وَاِنۡ كَانُوۡا مِنۡ قَبۡلُ لَفِىۡ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيۡنٍۙ
— Transliteration
Huwa allathee baAAatha feeal-ommiyyeena rasoolan minhum yatloo AAalayhim ayatihiwayuzakkeehim wayuAAallimuhumu alkitaba walhikmatawa-in kanoo min qablu lafee dalalin mubeen

وہی ہے جس نے اَن پڑھ لوگوں میں انہی میں سے ایک (با عظمت) رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو بھیجا وہ اُن پر اُس کی آیتیں پڑھ کر سناتے ہیں اور اُن (کے ظاہر و باطن) کو پاک کرتے ہیں اور انہیں کتاب و حکمت کی تعلیم دیتے ہیں، بیشک وہ لوگ اِن (کے تشریف لانے) سے پہلے کھلی گمراہی میں تھےo

It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error -

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا قُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَكُمۡ وَاَهۡلِيۡكُمۡ نَارًا وَّقُوۡدُهَا النَّاسُ وَالۡحِجَارَةُ عَلَيۡهَا مَلٰٓٮِٕكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعۡصُوۡنَ اللّٰهَ مَاۤ اَمَرَهُمۡ وَيَفۡعَلُوۡنَ مَا يُؤۡمَرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooqoo anfusakum waahleekum naran waqooduha annasuwalhijaratu AAalayha mala-ikatunghilathun shidadun la yaAAsoonaAllaha ma amarahum wayafAAaloona mayu/maroon

اے ایمان والو! اپنے آپ کو اور اپنے اہل و عیال کو اس آگ سے بچاؤ جس کا ایندھن انسان اور پتھر ہیں، جس پر سخت مزاج طاقتور فرشتے (مقرر) ہیں جو کسی بھی امر میں جس کا وہ انہیں حکم دیتا ہے اﷲ کی نافرمانی نہیں کرتے اور وہی کام انجام دیتے ہیں جس کا انہیں حکم دیا جاتا ہےo
— English
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.
