فَلَمَّا فَصَلَ طَالُوۡتُ بِالۡجُـنُوۡدِۙ قَالَ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ مُبۡتَلِيۡکُمۡ بِنَهَرٍۚ فَمَنۡ شَرِبَ مِنۡهُ فَلَيۡسَ مِنِّىۡۚ وَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَطۡعَمۡهُ فَاِنَّهٗ مِنِّىۡٓ اِلَّا مَنِ اغۡتَرَفَ غُرۡفَةً ۢ بِيَدِهٖۚ فَشَرِبُوۡا مِنۡهُ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلاً مِّنۡهُمۡؕ فَلَمَّا جَاوَزَهٗ هُوَ وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَهٗۙ قَالُوۡا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا الۡيَوۡمَ بِجَالُوۡتَ وَجُنُوۡدِهٖؕ قَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ يَظُنُّوۡنَ اَنَّهُمۡ مُّلٰقُوۡا اللّٰهِۙ کَمۡ مِّنۡ فِئَةٍ قَلِيۡلَةٍ غَلَبَتۡ فِئَةً کَثِيۡرَةً ۢ بِاِذۡنِ اللّٰهِؕ وَاللّٰهُ مَعَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Falamma fasala talootubiljunoodi qala inna Allaha mubtaleekumbinaharin faman shariba minhu falaysa minnee waman lam yatAAamhufa-innahu minnee illa mani ightarafa ghurfatan biyadihifashariboo minhu illa qaleelan minhum falamma jawazahuhuwa wallatheena amanoo maAAahu qaloola taqata lana alyawma bijalootawajunoodihi qala allatheena yathunnoonaannahum mulaqoo Allahi kam min fi-atin qaleelatinghalabat fi-atan katheeratan bi-ithni Allahi wallahumaAAa assabireen

پھرجب طالوت اپنے لشکروں کو لے کر شہر سے نکلا، تو اس نے کہا: بیشک اﷲ تمہیں ایک نہر کے ذریعے آزمانے والا ہے، پس جس نے اس میں سے پانی پیا سو وہ میرے (ساتھیوں میں) سے نہیں ہوگا، اور جو اس کو نہیں پئے گا پس وہی میری (جماعت) سے ہوگا مگر جو شخص ایک چُلّو (کی حد تک) اپنے ہاتھ سے پی لے (اس پر کوئی حرج نہیں)، سو ان میں سے چند لوگوں کے سوا باقی سب نے اس سے پانی پی لیا، پس جب طالوت اور ان کے ایمان والے ساتھی نہر کے پار چلے گئے، تو کہنے لگے: آج ہم میں جالوت اور اس کی فوجوں سے مقابلے کی طاقت نہیں، جو لوگ یہ یقین رکھتے تھے کہ وہ (شہید ہو کر یا مرنے کے بعد) اﷲ سے ملاقات کا شرف پانے والے ہیں، کہنے لگے: کئی مرتبہ اﷲ کے حکم سے تھوڑی سی جماعت (خاصی) بڑی جماعت پر غالب آجاتی ہے، اور اﷲ صبر کرنے والوں کو اپنی معیّت سے نوازتا ہے

And when Saul went forth with the soldiers, he said, "Indeed, Allah will be testing you with a river. So whoever drinks from it is not of me, and whoever does not taste it is indeed of me, excepting one who takes [from it] in the hollow of his hand." But they drank from it, except a [very] few of them. Then when he had crossed it along with those who believed with him, they said, "There is no power for us today against Goliath and his soldiers." But those who were certain that they would meet Allah said, "How many a small company has overcome a large company by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the patient."

Qad kana lakum ayatun feefi-atayni iltaqata fi-atun tuqatilu fee sabeeli Allahiwaokhra kafiratun yarawnahum mithlayhim ra/yaalAAayni wallahu yu-ayyidu binasrihi manyashao inna fee thalika laAAibratan li-olee al-absar

بیشک تمہارے لئے ان دو جماعتوں میں ایک نشانی ہے (جو میدانِ بدر میں) آپس میں مقابل ہوئیں، ایک جماعت نے اﷲ کی راہ میں جنگ کی اور دوسری کافر تھی وہ انہیں (اپنی) آنکھوں سے اپنے سے دوگنا دیکھ رہے تھے، اور اﷲ اپنی مدد کے ذریعے جسے چاہتا ہے تقویت دیتا ہے، یقینا اس واقعہ میں آنکھ والوں کے لئے (بڑی) عبرت ہے

Already there has been for you a sign in the two armies which met - one fighting in the cause of Allah and another of disbelievers. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. But Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those of vision.

Wa-itha jaahum amrun minaal-amni awi alkhawfi athaAAoo bihi walaw raddoohu ilaarrasooli wa-ila olee al-amri minhum laAAalimahuallatheena yastanbitoonahu minhum walawla fadluAllahi AAalaykum warahmatuhu lattabaAAtumuashshaytana illa qaleela

اور جب ان کے پاس کوئی خبر امن یا خوف کی آتی ہے تو وہ اسے پھیلا دیتے ہیں اور اگر وہ (بجائے شہرت دینے کے) اسے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) اور اپنے میں سے صاحبانِ امر کی طرف لوٹادیتے تو ضرور ان میں سے وہ لوگ جو (کسی) بات کانتیجہ اخذ کرسکتے ہیں اس (خبر کی حقیقت) کو جان لیتے، اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو یقیناً چند ایک کے سوا تم (سب) شیطان کی پیروی کرنے لگتے

And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.

There has come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say], "I am not a guardian over you."

— Transliteration
Wa-itha lam ta/tihim bi-ayatinqaloo lawla ijtabaytaha qul innamaattabiAAu ma yooha ilayya min rabbee hathabasa-iru min rabbikum wahudan warahmatun liqawminyu/minoon

اور جب آپ ان کے پاس کوئی نشانی نہیں لاتے (تو) وہ کہتے ہیں کہ آپ اسے اپنی طرف سے وضع کر کے کیوں نہیں لائے؟ فرما دیں: میں تو محض اس (حکم) کی پیروی کرتا ہوں جو میرے رب کی جانب سے میری طرف وحی کیا جاتا ہے یہ (قرآن) تمہارے رب کی طرف سے دلائل قطعیہ (کا مجموعہ) ہے اور ہدایت و رحمت ہے ان لوگوں کے لئے جو ایمان لاتے ہیں

And when you, [O Muhammad], do not bring them a sign, they say, "Why have you not contrived it?" Say, "I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord. This [Qur'an] is enlightenment from your Lord and guidance and mercy for a people who believe."

And [subsequently] the king said, "Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry. O eminent ones, explain to me my vision, if you should interpret visions."

اور (یاد کیجئے) جب ہم نے آپ سے فرمایا کہ بیشک آپ کے رب نے (سب) لوگوں کو (اپنے علم و قدرت کے) احاطہ میں لے رکھا ہے، اور ہم نے تو (شبِ معراج کے) اس نظّارہ کو جو ہم نے آپ کو دکھایا لوگوں کے لئے صرف ایک آزمائش بنایا ہے (ایمان والے مان گئے اور ظاہر بین الجھ گئے) اور اس درخت (شجرۃ الزقوم) کو بھی جس پر قرآن میں لعنت کی گئی ہے، اور ہم انہیں ڈراتے ہیں مگر یہ (ڈرانا بھی) ان میں کوئی اضافہ نہیں کرتا سوائے اور بڑی سرکشی کے

And [remember, O Muhammad], when We told you, "Indeed, your Lord has encompassed the people." And We did not make the sight which We showed you except as a trial for the people, as was the accursed tree [mentioned] in the Qur'an. And We threaten them, but it increases them not except in great transgression.

Laqad sadaqa Allahu rasoolahuarru/ya bilhaqqi latadkhulunnaalmasjida alharama in shaa Allahu amineenamuhalliqeena ruoosakum wamuqassireena latakhafoona faAAalima ma lam taAAlamoo fajaAAala mindooni thalika fathan qareeba

بیشک اﷲ نے اپنے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو حقیقت کے عین مطابق سچا خواب دکھایا تھا کہ تم لوگ، اگر اﷲ نے چاہا تو ضرور بالضرور مسجدِ حرام میں داخل ہو گے امن و امان کے ساتھ، (کچھ) اپنے سر منڈوائے ہوئے اور (کچھ) بال کتروائے ہوئے (اس حال میں کہ) تم خوفزدہ نہیں ہو گے، پس وہ (صلح حدیبیہ کو اس خواب کی تعبیر کے پیش خیمہ کے طور پر) جانتا تھا جو تم نہیں جانتے تھے سو اس نے اس (فتحِ مکہ) سے بھی پہلے ایک فوری فتح (حدیبیہ سے پلٹتے ہی فتحِ خیبر) عطا کر دی (اور اس سے اگلے سال فتحِ مکہ اور داخلۂ حرم عطا فرما دیا)o

Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Haram, if Allah wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand].

Huwa allathee akhraja allatheenakafaroo min ahli alkitabi min diyarihim li-awwalialhashri ma thanantum an yakhrujoo wathannooannahum maniAAatuhum husoonuhum mina Allahifaatahumu Allahu min haythu lam yahtasiboowaqathafa fee quloobihimu arruAAba yukhriboonabuyootahum bi-aydeehim waaydee almu/mineena faAAtabiroo yaolee al-absar

وہی ہے جس نے اُن کافر کتابیوں کو (یعنی بنو نضیر کو) پہلی جلاوطنی میں گھروں سے (جمع کر کے مدینہ سے شام کی طرف) نکال دیا۔ تمہیں یہ گمان (بھی) نہ تھا کہ وہ نکل جائیں گے اور انہیں یہ گمان تھا کہ اُن کے مضبوط قلعے انہیں اللہ (کی گرفت) سے بچا لیں گے پھر اللہ (کے عذاب) نے اُن کو وہاں سے آلیا جہاں سے وہ گمان (بھی) نہ کرسکتے تھے اور اس (اللہ) نے اُن کے دلوں میں رعب و دبدبہ ڈال دیا وہ اپنے گھروں کو اپنے ہاتھوں اور اہلِ ایمان کے ہاتھوں ویران کر رہے تھے۔ پس اے دیدۂ بینا والو! (اس سے) عبرت حاصل کروo

It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision.
