Qad khasira allatheena kaththaboobiliqa-i Allahi hatta itha jaat-humuassaAAatu baghtatan qaloo ya hasratanaAAala ma farratna feeha wahumyahmiloona awzarahum AAala thuhoorihimala saa ma yaziroon

پس ایسے لوگ نقصان میں رہے جنہوں نے اﷲ کی ملاقات کو جھٹلا دیا یہاں تک کہ جب ان کے پاس اچانک قیامت آپہنچے گی (تو) کہیں گے: ہائے افسوس! ہم پر جو ہم نے اس (قیامت پر ایمان لانے) کے بارے میں (تقصیر) کی، اور وہ اپنی پیٹھوں پر اپنے (گناہوں کے) بوجھ لادے ہوئے ہوں گے، سن لو! وہ بہت برا بوجھ ہے جو یہ اٹھا رہے ہیں

Those will have lost who deny the meeting with Allah, until when the Hour [of resurrection] comes upon them unexpectedly, they will say, "Oh, [how great is] our regret over what we neglected concerning it," while they bear their burdens on their backs. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear.

یہ (کفار) آپ سے قیامت کی نسبت دریافت کرتے ہیں کہ اس کے قائم ہونے کا وقت کب ہے؟ فرما دیں کہ اس کا علم تو صرف میرے رب کے پاس ہے، اسے اپنے (مقررہ) وقت پر اس (اللہ) کے سوا کوئی ظاہر نہیں کرے گا۔ وہ آسمانوں اور زمین (کے رہنے والوں) پر (شدائد و مصائب کے خوف کے باعث) بوجھل (لگ رہی) ہے۔ وہ تم پر اچانک (حادثاتی طور پر) آجائے گی، یہ لوگ آپ سے (اس طرح) سوال کرتے ہیں گویا آپ اس کی کھوج میں لگے ہوئے ہیں، فرما دیں کہ اس کا علم تو محض اللہ کے پاس ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ (اس حقیقت کو) نہیں جانتے

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the Hour: when is its arrival? Say, "Its knowledge is only with my Lord. None will reveal its time except Him. It lays heavily upon the heavens and the earth. It will not come upon you except unexpectedly." They ask you as if you are familiar with it. Say, "Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most of the people do not know."

And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon the earth any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].

Wakathalika aAAtharnaAAalayhim liyaAAlamoo anna waAAda Allahi haqqunwaanna asaAAata la rayba feeha ithyatanazaAAoona baynahum amrahum faqaloo ibnooAAalayhim bunyanan rabbuhum aAAlamu bihim qala allatheenaghalaboo AAala amrihim lanattakhithanna AAalayhimmasjida

اور اس طرح ہم نے ان (کے حال) پر ان لوگوں کو (جو چند صدیاں بعد کے تھے) مطلع کردیا تاکہ وہ جان لیں کہ اﷲ کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور یہ (بھی) کہ قیامت کے آنے میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے۔ جب وہ (بستی والے) آپس میں ان کے معاملہ میں جھگڑا کرنے لگے (جب اصحابِ کہف وفات پاگئے) تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ان (کے غار) پر ایک عمارت (بطور یادگار) بنا دو، ان کا رب ان (کے حال) سے خوب واقف ہے، ان (ایمان والوں) نے کہا جنہیں ان کے معاملہ پر غلبہ حاصل تھا کہ ہم ان (کے دروازہ) پر ضرور ایک مسجد بنائیں گے (تاکہ مسلمان اس میں نماز پڑھیں اور ان کی قربت سے خصوصی برکت حاصل کریں)

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

فرما دیجئے: جو شخص گمراہی میں مبتلا ہو تو (خدائے) رحمان (بھی) اسے عمر و عیش میں خوب مہلت دیتا رہتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ جب وہ لوگ اس چیز کو دیکھ لیں گے جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے خواہ عذاب اور خواہ قیامت، تب وہ اس شخص کو جان لیں گے جو رہائش گاہ کے اعتبار سے (بھی) برا ہے اور لشکر کے اعتبار سے (بھی) کمزور تر ہے

Say, "Whoever is in error - let the Most Merciful extend for him an extension [in wealth and time] until, when they see that which they were promised - either punishment [in this world] or the Hour [of resurrection] - they will come to know who is worst in position and weaker in soldiers."

But those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt of it until the Hour comes upon them unexpectedly or there comes to them the punishment of a barren Day.

And the Day He will call to them, "Where are My 'partners'?" they will say, "We announce to You that there is [no longer] among us any witness [to that]."

And if We let him taste mercy from Us after an adversity which has touched him, he will surely say, "This is [due] to me, and I do not think the Hour will occur; and [even] if I should be returned to my Lord, indeed, for me there will be with Him the best." But We will surely inform those who disbelieved about what they did, and We will surely make them taste a massive punishment.

Those who do not believe in it are impatient for it, but those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the truth. Unquestionably, those who dispute concerning the Hour are in extreme error.

And blessed is He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them and with whom is knowledge of the Hour and to whom you will be returned.

And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And the Day the Hour appears - that Day the falsifiers will lose.

And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.' "

فَاصۡبِرۡ كَمَا صَبَرَ اُولُوۡا الۡعَزۡمِ مِنَ الرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِل لَّهُمۡؕ كَاَنَّهُمۡ يَوۡمَ يَرَوۡن مَا يُوۡعَدُوۡنَۙ لَمۡ يَلۡبَثُوۡۤا اِلَّا سَاعَةً مِّنۡ نَّهَارٍ ؕ بَلٰغٌ ۚ فَهَلۡ يُهۡلَكُ اِلَّا الۡقَوۡمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ

Fasbir kama sabaraoloo alAAazmi mina arrusuli wala tastaAAjil lahumkaannahum yawma yarawna ma yooAAadoona lam yalbathoo illasaAAatan min naharin balaghun fahal yuhlakuilla alqawmu alfasiqoon

(اے حبیب!) پس آپ صبر کئے جائیں جس طرح (دوسرے) عالی ہمّت پیغمبروں نے صبر کیا تھا اور آپ ان (منکروں) کے لئے (طلبِ عذاب میں) جلدی نہ فرمائیں، جس دن وہ اس (عذابِ آخرت) کو دیکھیں گے جس کا ان سے وعدہ کیا جا رہا ہے تو (خیال کریں گے) گویا وہ (دنیا میں) دن کی ایک گھڑی کے سوا ٹھہرے ہی نہیں تھے، (یہ اﷲ کی طرف سے) پیغام کا پہنچایا جانا ہے، نافرمان قوم کے سوا دیگر لوگ ہلاک نہیں کئے جائیں گےo

So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers and do not be impatient for them. It will be - on the Day they see that which they are promised - as though they had not remained [in the world] except an hour of a day. [This is] notification. And will [any] be destroyed except the defiantly disobedient people?

Then do they await except that the Hour should come upon them unexpectedly? But already there have come [some of] its indications. Then what good to them, when it has come, will be their remembrance?
