— Transliteration

Khatama Allahu AAala quloobihimwaAAala samAAihim waAAala absarihim ghishawatunwalahum AAathabun AAatheem

Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment.

Aw kasayyibin mina assama-ifeehi thulumatun waraAAdun wabarqunyajAAaloona asabiAAahum fee athanihim mina assawaAAiqihathara almawti wallahu muheetunbilkafireen

Urdu —

یا ان کی مثال اس بارش کی سی ہے جو آسمان سے برس رہی ہے جس میں اندھیریاں ہیں اور گرج اور چمک (بھی) ہے تو وہ کڑک کے باعث موت کے ڈر سے اپنے کانوں میں انگلیاں ٹھونس لیتے ہیں، اور اللہ کافروں کو گھیرے ہوئے ہے

— English

Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning. They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death. But Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers.

— Transliteration

Wa-ith qala rabbuka lilmala-ikatiinnee jaAAilun fee al-ardi khaleefatan qalooatajAAalu feeha man yufsidu feeha wayasfiku addimaawanahnu nusabbihu bihamdika wanuqaddisu lakaqala innee aAAlamu ma la taAAlamoon

اور (وہ وقت یاد کریں) جب آپ کے رب نے فرشتوں سے فرمایا کہ میں زمین میں اپنا نائب بنانے والا ہوں، انہوں نے عرض کیا: کیا تُو زمین میں کسی ایسے شخص کو (نائب) بنائے گا جو اس میں فساد انگیزی کرے گا اور خونریزی کرے گا؟ حالانکہ ہم تیری حمد کے ساتھ تسبیح کرتے رہتے ہیں اور (ہمہ وقت) پاکیزگی بیان کرتے ہیں، (اللہ نے) فرمایا: میں وہ کچھ جانتا ہوں جو تم نہیں جانتے

— English

And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority." They said, "Will You place upon it one who causes corruption therein and sheds blood, while we declare Your praise and sanctify You?" Allah said, "Indeed, I know that which you do not know."

فَوَيۡلٌ لِّلَّذِيۡنَ يَكۡتُبُوۡنَ الۡكِتٰبَ بِاَيۡدِيۡهِمۡ ثُمَّ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ هٰذَا مِنۡ عِنۡدِ اللّٰهِ لِيَشۡتَرُوۡا بِهٖ ثَمَنًا قَلِيۡلًاؕ فَوَيۡلٌ لَّهُمۡ مِّمَّا کَتَبَتۡ اَيۡدِيۡهِمۡ وَوَيۡلٌ لَّهُمۡ مِّمَّا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Fawaylun lillatheena yaktuboona alkitababi-aydeehim thumma yaqooloona hatha min AAindi Allahiliyashtaroo bihi thamanan qaleelan fawaylun lahum mimmakatabat aydeehim wawaylun lahum mimma yaksiboon

وہ کماتے ہیں

Urdu —

پس ایسے لوگوں کے لئے بڑی خرابی ہے جو اپنے ہی ہاتھوں سے کتاب لکھتے ہیں، پھر کہتے ہیں کہ یہ اللہ کی طرف سے ہے تاکہ اس کے عوض تھوڑے سے دام کما لیں، سو ان کے لئے اس (کتاب کی وجہ) سے ہلاکت ہے جو ان کے ہاتھوں نے تحریر کی اور اس (معاوضہ کی وجہ) سے تباہی ہے جو وہ کما رہے ہیں

— English

So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ رَسُوۡلٌ مِّنۡ عِنۡدِ اللّٰهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمۡ نَبَذَ فَرِيۡقٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اُوۡتُوۡا الۡكِتٰبَۙ کِتٰبَ اللّٰهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُوۡرِهِمۡ كَاَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Walamma jaahum rasoolun minAAindi Allahi musaddiqun lima maAAahum nabathafareequn mina allatheena ootoo alkitaba kitabaAllahi waraa thuhoorihim kaannahum layaAAlamoon

Urdu —

اور (اسی طرح) جب ان کے پاس اللہ کی جانب سے رسول (حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) آئے جو اس کتاب کی (اصلاً) تصدیق کرنے والے ہیں جو ان کے پاس (پہلے سے) موجود تھی تو (انہی) اہلِ کتاب میں سے ایک گروہ نے اللہ کی (اسی) کتاب (تورات) کو پسِ پشت پھینک دیا، گویا وہ (اس کو) جانتے ہی نہیں (حالانکہ اسی تورات نے انہیں نبی آخرالزماں حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی تشریف آوری کی خبر دی تھی)

— English

And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained].

اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ يَكۡتُمُوۡنَ مَآ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ مِنَ الۡکِتٰبِ وَيَشۡتَرُوۡنَ بِهٖ ثَمَنًا قَلِيۡلًا ۙ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ مَا يَاۡكُلُوۡنَ فِىۡ بُطُوۡنِهِمۡ اِلَّا النَّارَ وَلَا يُکَلِّمُهُمُ اللّٰهُ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ وَلَا يُزَکِّيۡهِمۡ ۖۚ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌ‏ 

— Transliteration

Inna allatheena yaktumoona maanzala Allahu mina alkitabi wayashtaroona bihithamanan qaleelan ola-ika ma ya/kuloona fee butoonihimilla annara wala yukallimuhumu Allahuyawma alqiyamati wala yuzakkeehim walahum AAathabunaleem

**And Allah will not speak to them

اور نہ

will speak to them

کلام کرے گا ان سے

(of) [the] Judgment

**and He will not purify them,

اور نہ

will He purify them

بیشک جو لوگ کتابِ (تورات کی ان آیتوں) کو جو اﷲ نے نازل فرمائی ہیں چھپاتے ہیں اور اس کے بدلے حقیر قیمت حاصل کرتے ہیں، وہ لوگ سوائے اپنے پیٹوں میں آگ بھرنے کے کچھ نہیں کھاتے اور اﷲ قیامت کے روز ان سے کلام تک نہیں فرمائے گا اور نہ ہی ان کو پاک کرے گا، اور ان کے لئے درد ناک عذاب ہے

— English

Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

لَيۡسَ الۡبِرَّ اَنۡ تُوَلُّوۡا وُجُوۡهَكُمۡ قِبَلَ الۡمَشۡرِقِ وَالۡمَغۡرِبِ وَلٰـكِنَّ الۡبِرَّ مَنۡ اٰمَنَ بِاللّٰهِ وَالۡيَوۡمِ الۡاٰخِرِ وَالۡمَلٰٓٮِٕکَةِ وَالۡكِتٰبِ وَالنَّبِيّٖنَ‌ۚ وَاٰتَى الۡمَالَ عَلٰى حُبِّهٖ ذَوِى الۡقُرۡبٰى وَالۡيَتٰمٰى وَالۡمَسٰكِيۡنَ وَابۡنَ السَّبِيۡلِۙ وَالسَّآٮِٕلِيۡنَ وَفِىۡ الرِّقَابِ‌ۚ وَاَقَامَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتَى الزَّکٰوةَ‌ ۚ وَالۡمُوۡفُوۡنَ بِعَهۡدِهِمۡ اِذَا عَاهَدُوا ۚ وَالصّٰبِرِيۡنَ فِىۡ الۡبَاۡسَآءِ وَالضَّرَّآءِ وَحِيۡنَ الۡبَاۡسِؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الَّذِيۡنَ صَدَقُوۡاؕ وَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡمُتَّقُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Laysa albirra an tuwalloo wujoohakum qibalaalmashriqi walmaghribi walakinna albirra man amanabillahi walyawmi al-akhiri walmala-ikatiwalkitabi wannabiyyeena waataalmala AAala hubbihi thawee alqurbawalyatama walmasakeena wabnaalssabeeli wassa-ileena wafee arriqabiwaaqama assalata waataazzakata walmoofoona biAAahdihim ithaAAahadoo wassabireena fee alba/sa-iwaddarra-i waheena alba/si ola-ikaallatheena sadaqoo waola-ika humualmuttaqoon

and the Prophets

اور نبیوں کے

waātā

and gives

اور دے

the wealth

مال کو

ʿalā

**in spite of his love (for it)

ḥubbihi

اس کی محبت۔ اس کی محبت کے باوجود

dhawī

**(to) the near relatives,

l-qur'bā

(of) the near relatives

رشتہ داروں کو

wal-yatāmā

and the orphans

اور یتیموں کو

wal-masākīna

and the needy

اور مسکینوں کو

wa-ib'na

and (of)

اور

l-sabīli

the wayfarer

مسافروں کو

wal-sāilīna

and those who ask

اور سوال کرنے والوں کو

wafī

and in

اور میں

l-riqābi

freeing the necks (slaves)

گردنیں (چھڑانے)

wa-aqāma

and (who) establish

اور قائم کرے

l-ṣalata

the prayer

نماز کو

waātā

and give

اور دے

l-zakata

the zakah

زکوۃ کو

wal-mūfūna

and those who fulfill

اور جو پورا کرنے والے ہیں

biʿahdihim

their covenant

اپنے عہد کو

idhā

when

جب

ʿāhadū

they make it

وہ عہد کریں

wal-ṣābirīna

and those who are patient

اور جو صبر کرنے والے ہیں

fī

**in [the] suffering

میں

[the] suffering

تنگ دستی میں

wal-ḍarāi

and [the] hardship

اور تکلیف میں

waḥīna

and (the) time

اور وقت

جنگ میں

Those

یہی لوگ

(are) the ones who

وہ لوگ ہیں

are true

جنہوں نے سچ کہا

wa-ulāika

and those,

اور یہی لوگ

l-mutaqūna

(are) the righteous

جو متقی ہیں

Urdu —

نیکی صرف یہی نہیں کہ تم اپنے منہ مشرق اور مغرب کی طرف پھیر لو بلکہ اصل نیکی تو یہ ہے کہ کوئی شخص اﷲ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر اور فرشتوں پر اور (اﷲ کی) کتاب پر اور پیغمبروں پر ایمان لائے، اور اﷲ کی محبت میں (اپنا) مال قرابت داروں پر اور یتیموں پر اور محتاجوں پر اور مسافروں پر اور مانگنے والوں پر اور (غلاموں کی) گردنوں (کو آزاد کرانے) میں خرچ کرے، اور نماز قائم کرے اور زکوٰۃ دے اور جب کوئی وعدہ کریں تو اپنا وعدہ پورا کرنے والے ہوں، اور سختی (تنگدستی) میں اور مصیبت (بیماری) میں اور جنگ کی شدّت (جہاد) کے وقت صبر کرنے والے ہوں، یہی لوگ سچے ہیں اور یہی پرہیزگار ہیں

— English

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

وَاَتِمُّوۡا الۡحَجَّ وَالۡعُمۡرَةَ لِلّٰهِؕ فَاِنۡ اُحۡصِرۡتُمۡ فَمَا اسۡتَيۡسَرَ مِنَ الۡهَدۡىِ‌ۚ وَلَا تَحۡلِقُوۡا رُءُوۡسَكُمۡ حَتّٰى يَبۡلُغَ الۡهَدۡىُ مَحِلَّهٗؕ فَمَنۡ كَانَ مِنۡكُمۡ مَّرِيۡضًا اَوۡ بِهٖۤ اَذًى مِّنۡ رَّاۡسِهٖ فَفِدۡيَةٌ مِّنۡ صِيَامٍ اَوۡ صَدَقَةٍ اَوۡ نُسُكٍۚ فَاِذَآ اَمِنۡتُمۡ فَمَنۡ تَمَتَّعَ بِالۡعُمۡرَةِ اِلَى الۡحَجِّ فَمَا اسۡتَيۡسَرَ مِنَ الۡهَدۡىِ‌ۚ فَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ ثَلٰثَةِ اَيَّامٍ فِىۡ الۡحَجِّ وَسَبۡعَةٍ اِذَا رَجَعۡتُمۡؕ تِلۡكَ عَشَرَةٌ كَامِلَةٌ ؕ ذٰلِكَ لِمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَكُنۡ اَهۡلُهٗ حَاضِرِىۡ الۡمَسۡجِدِ الۡحَـرَامِ‌ؕ وَاتَّقُوۡا اللّٰهَ وَاعۡلَمُوۡٓا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ شَدِيۡدُ الۡعِقَابِ‏ 

— Transliteration

Waatimmoo alhajja walAAumratalillahi fa-in ohsirtum fama istaysara minaalhadyi wala tahliqoo ruoosakum hattayablugha alhadyu mahillahu faman kana minkum mareedanaw bihi athan min ra/sihi fafidyatun min siyaminaw sadaqatin aw nusukin fa-itha amintum famantamattaAAa bilAAumrati ila alhajji famaistaysara mina alhadyi faman lam yajid fasiyamuthalathati ayyamin fee alhajji wasabAAatin itharajaAAtum tilka AAasharatun kamilatun thalika limanlam yakun ahluhu hadiree almasjidi alharamiwattaqoo Allaha waAAlamoo anna Allahashadeedu alAAiqab

Urdu —

اور حج اور عمرہ (کے مناسک) اﷲ کے لئے مکمل کرو، پھر اگر تم (راستے میں) روک لئے جاؤ تو جو قربانی بھی میسر آئے (کرنے کے لئے بھیج دو) اور اپنے سروں کو اس وقت تک نہ منڈواؤ جب تک قربانی (کا جانور) اپنے مقام پر نہ پہنچ جائے، پھر تم میں سے جو کوئی بیمار ہو یا اس کے سر میں کچھ تکلیف ہو (اس وجہ سے قبل از وقت سر منڈوالے) تو (اس کے) بدلے میں روزے (رکھے) یا صدقہ (دے) یا قربانی (کرے)، پھر جب تم اطمینان کی حالت میں ہو تو جو کوئی عمرہ کو حج کے ساتھ ملانے کا فائدہ اٹھائے تو جو بھی قربانی میّسر آئے (کر دے)، پھر جسے یہ بھی میّسر نہ ہو وہ تین دن کے روزے (زمانۂ) حج میں رکھے اور سات جب تم حج سے واپس لوٹو، یہ پورے دس (روزے) ہوئے، یہ (رعایت) اس کے لئے ہے جس کے اہل و عیال مسجدِ حرام کے پاس نہ رہتے ہوں (یعنی جو مکہ کا رہنے والا نہ ہو)، اور اﷲ سے ڈرتے رہو اور جان لو کہ اﷲ سخت عذاب دینے والا ہے

— English

And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allah. But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity or sacrifice. And when you are secure, then whoever performs 'umrah [during the Hajj months] followed by Hajj [offers] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And whoever cannot find [or afford such an animal] - then a fast of three days during Hajj and of seven when you have returned [home]. Those are ten complete [days]. This is for those whose family is not in the area of al-Masjid al-Haram. And fear Allah and know that Allah is severe in penalty.

It is He who forms you in the wombs however He wills. There is no deity except Him, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Say, "Whether you conceal what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it. And He knows that which is in the heavens and that which is on the earth. And Allah is over all things competent.

اور کسی کی بات نہ مانو سوائے اس شخص کے جو تمہارے (ہی) دین کا پیرو ہو، فرما دیں کہ بیشک ہدایت تو (فقط) ہدایتِ الٰہی ہے (اور اپنے لوگوں سے مزید کہتے ہیں کہ یہ بھی ہرگز نہ ماننا) کہ جیسی کتاب (یا دِین) تمہیں دیا گیا اس جیسا کسی اور کو بھی دیا جائے گا یا یہ کہ کوئی تمہارے رب کے پاس تمہارے خلاف حجت لا سکے گا، فرما دیں: بیشک فضل تو اﷲ کے ہاتھ میں ہے، جسے چاہتا ہے عطا فرماتا ہے، اور اﷲ وسعت والا بڑے علم والا ہے

— English

And do not trust except those who follow your religion." Say, "Indeed, the [true] guidance is the guidance of Allah. [Do you fear] lest someone be given [knowledge] like you were given or that they would [thereby] argue with you before your Lord?" Say, "Indeed, [all] bounty is in the hand of Allah - He grants it to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Wise."

Ha antum ola-i tuhibboonahumwala yuhibboonakum watu/minoona bilkitabikullihi wa-itha laqookum qaloo amannawa-itha khalaw AAaddoo AAalaykumu al-anamilamina alghaythi qul mootoo bighaythikuminna Allaha AAaleemun bithati assudoor

(is) All-Knowing

جاننے والا ہے

(is in) the breasts

سینوں کے

Urdu —

آگاہ ہو جاؤ! تم وہ لوگ ہو کہ ان سے محبت رکھتے ہو اور وہ تمہیں پسند (تک) نہیں کرتے حالانکہ تم سب کتابوں پر ایمان رکھتے ہو، اور جب وہ تم سے ملتے ہیں (تو) کہتے ہیں: ہم ایمان لے آئے ہیں، اور جب اکیلے ہوتے ہیں تو تم پر غصے سے انگلیاں چباتے ہیں، فرما دیں: مر جاؤ اپنی گھٹن میں، بیشک اللہ دلوں کی (پوشیدہ) باتوں کو خوب جاننے والا ہے

Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture - all of it. And when they meet you, they say, "We believe." But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, "Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts."

وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ اِلَّا رَسُوۡلٌ ۚ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِ الرُّسُلُ‌ؕ اَفَا۟يِٕنْ مَّاتَ اَوۡ قُتِلَ انْقَلَبۡتُمۡ عَلٰٓى اَعۡقَابِكُمۡ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّنۡقَلِبۡ عَلٰى عَقِبَيۡهِ فَلَنۡ يَّضُرَّ اللّٰهَ شَيْئًا ؕ وَسَيَجۡزِىۡ اللّٰهُ الشّٰكِرِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wama muhammadun illarasoolun qad khalat min qablihi arrusulu afa-in mataaw qutila inqalabtum AAala aAAqabikum wamanyanqalib AAala AAaqibayhi falan yadurra Allahashay-an wasayajzee Allahu ashshakireen

Urdu —

اور محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم بھی تو) رسول ہی ہیں (نہ کہ خدا)، آپ سے پہلے بھی کئی پیغمبر (مصائب اور تکلیفیں جھیلتے ہوئے اس دنیا سے) گزر چکے ہیں، پھر اگر وہ وفات فرما جائیں یا شہید کر دیئے جائیں تو کیا تم اپنے (پچھلے مذہب کی طرف) الٹے پاؤں پھر جاؤ گے (یعنی کیا ان کی وفات یا شہادت کو معاذ اللہ دینِ اسلام کے حق نہ ہونے پر یا ان کے سچے رسول نہ ہونے پر محمول کرو گے)، اور جو کوئی اپنے الٹے پاؤں پھرے گا تو وہ اللہ کا ہرگز کچھ نہیں بگاڑے گا، اور اللہ عنقریب (مصائب پر ثابت قدم رہ کر) شکر کرنے والوں کو جزا عطا فرمائے گا

— English

Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.

‌وَلِيَعۡلَمَ الَّذِيۡنَ نَافَقُوۡا ۖۚ وَقِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡا قَاتِلُوۡا فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ اَوِ ادۡفَعُوۡا‌ۚ قَالُوۡا لَوۡ نَعۡلَمُ قِتَالًا لَّااتَّبَعۡنٰكُمۡ‌ؕ هُمۡ لِلۡكُفۡرِ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ اَقۡرَبُ مِنۡهُمۡ لِلۡاِيۡمَانِ‌ۚ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ بِاَفۡوٰهِهِمۡ مَّا لَيۡسَ فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ‌ؕ وَاللّٰهُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يَكۡتُمُوۡنَ‌ۚ‏ 

— Transliteration

WaliyaAAlama allatheena nafaqoowaqeela lahum taAAalaw qatiloo fee sabeeli Allahiawi idfaAAoo qaloo law naAAlamu qitalan lattabaAAnakumhum lilkufri yawma-ithin aqrabu minhum lil-eemaniyaqooloona bi-afwahihim ma laysa fee quloobihim wallahuaAAlamu bima yaktumoon

اپنے مونہوں کے ساتھ

نہیں تھا

میں

qulūbihim

their hearts

ان کے دلوں

wal-lahu

And Allah

اور اللہ

aʿlamu

(is) Most Knowing

زیادہ جانتا ہے

bimā

(of) what

ساتھ اس کے

yaktumūna

they conceal

جو وہ چھپاتے ہیں

Urdu —

اور ایسے لوگوں کی بھی پہچان کرا دے جو منافق ہیں، اور جب ان سے کہا گیا کہ آؤ اللہ کی راہ میں جنگ کرو یا (دشمن کے حملے کا) دفاع کرو، تو کہنے لگے: اگر ہم جانتے کہ (واقعۃً کسی ڈھب کی) لڑائی ہوگی (یا ہم اسے اللہ کی راہ میں جنگ جانتے) تو ضرور تمہاری پیروی کرتے، اس دن وہ (ظاہری) ایمان کی نسبت کھلے کفر سے زیادہ قریب تھے، وہ اپنے منہ سے وہ باتیں کہتے ہیں جو ان کے دلوں میں نہیں ہیں، اور اللہ (ان باتوں) کو خوب جانتا ہے جو وہ چھپا رہے ہیں

— English

And that He might make evident those who are hypocrites. For it was said to them, "Come, fight in the way of Allah or [at least] defend." They said, "If we had known [there would be] fighting, we would have followed you." They were nearer to disbelief that day than to faith, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is most Knowing of what they conceal -

— Transliteration

Hurrimat AAalaykum ommahatukumwabanatukum waakhawatukum waAAammatukum wakhalatukumwabanatu al-akhi wabanatu al-okhti waommahatukumuallatee ardaAAnakum waakhawatukum mina arradaAAatiwaommahatu nisa-ikum waraba-ibukumu allateefee hujoorikum min nisa-ikumu allateedakhaltum bihinna fa-in lam takoonoo dakhaltum bihinna falajunaha AAalaykum wahala-ilu abna-ikumuallatheena min aslabikum waan tajmaAAoobayna al-okhtayni illa ma qad salafa inna Allahakana ghafooran raheema

تمہاری گودوں میں ہیں

your women

تمہاری بیویوں میں

dakhaltum

you had relations

دخول کیا تم نے

with them,

ساتھ ان کے

fa-in

but if

پھر اگر

lam

not

نہیں

you had

dakhaltum

relations

دخول کرچکے

bihinna

with them,

ان پر

falā

then (there is) no

تو نہیں

junāḥa

sin

کوئی گناہ

ʿalaykum

on you.

And wives

اور بیویاں

(of) your sons

تمہارے بیٹوں کی

alladhīna

those who

تمہاری پشت سے ہیں

and that

اور یہ کہ

tajmaʿū

you gather together

تم جمع کرو

تم پر تمہاری مائیں اور تمہاری بیٹیاں اور تمہاری بہنیں اور تمہاری پھوپھیاں اور تمہاری خالائیں اور بھتیجیاں اور بھانجیاں اور تمہاری (وہ) مائیں جنہوں نے تمہیں دودھ پلایا ہو اور تمہاری رضاعت میں شریک بہنیں اور تمہاری بیویوں کی مائیں (سب) حرام کر دی گئی ہیں، اور (اسی طرح) تمہاری گود میں پرورش پانے والی وہ لڑکیاں جو تمہاری ان عورتوں (کے بطن) سے ہیں جن سے تم صحبت کر چکے ہو (بھی حرام ہیں)، پھر اگر تم نے ان سے صحبت نہ کی ہو تو تم پر (ان کی لڑکیوں سے نکاح کرنے میں) کوئی حرج نہیں، اور تمہارے ان بیٹوں کی بیویاں (بھی تم پر حرام ہیں) جو تمہاری پشت سے ہیں، اور یہ (بھی حرام ہے) کہ تم دو بہنوں کو ایک ساتھ (نکاح میں) جمع کرو سوائے اس کے کہ جو دورِ جہالت میں گزر چکا۔ بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

— English

Prohibited to you [for marriage] are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your father's sisters, your mother's sisters, your brother's daughters, your sister's daughters, your [milk] mothers who nursed you, your sisters through nursing, your wives' mothers, and your step-daughters under your guardianship [born] of your wives unto whom you have gone in. But if you have not gone in unto them, there is no sin upon you. And [also prohibited are] the wives of your sons who are from your [own] loins, and that you take [in marriage] two sisters simultaneously, except for what has already occurred. Indeed, Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.

— Transliteration

Inna allatheena kafaroo bi-ayatinasawfa nusleehim naran kullama nadijatjulooduhum baddalnahum juloodan ghayraha liyathooqooalAAathaba inna Allaha kana AAazeezan hakeema

پک جائیں گی

their skins

کھالیں ان کی

baddalnāhum

We will change their

تبدیل کردیں گے ہم ان کی

julūdan

skins

کھالیں

ghayrahā

for other (than) that

ان کے علاوہ

liyadhūqū

so that they may taste

تاکہ وہ چکھتے رہیں

l-ʿadhāba

the punishment

عذاب کو

inna

Indeed,

بیشک

l-laha

Allah

اللہ تعالیٰ

kāna

ہے

ʿazīzan

All-Mighty

زبردست

ḥakīman

All-Wise

حکمت والا

Urdu —

بیشک جن لوگوں نے ہماری آیتوں سے کفر کیا ہم عنقریب انہیں (دوزخ کی) آگ میں جھونک دیں گے، جب ان کی کھالیں جل جائیں گی تو ہم انہیں دوسری کھالیں بدل دیں گے تاکہ وہ (مسلسل) عذاب (کا مزہ) چکھتے رہیں، بیشک اللہ غالب حکمت والا ہے

— English

Indeed, those who disbelieve in Our verses - We will drive them into a Fire. Every time their skins are roasted through We will replace them with other skins so they may taste the punishment. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted in Might and Wise.

وَّلَاُضِلَّـنَّهُمۡ وَلَاُمَنِّيَنَّهُمۡ وَلَاٰمُرَنَّهُمۡ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ اٰذَانَ الۡاَنۡعَامِ وَلَاَمُرَنَّهُمۡ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلۡقَ اللّٰهِ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَّخِذِ الشَّيۡطٰنَ وَلِيًّا مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ فَقَدۡ خَسِرَ خُسۡرَانًا مُّبِيۡنًاؕ‏ 

— Transliteration

Walaodillannahum walaomanniyannahumwalaamurannahum falayubattikunna athana al-anAAamiwalaamurannahum falayughayyirunna khalqa Allahiwaman yattakhithi ashshaytana waliyyan mindooni Allahi faqad khasira khusranan mubeena

And I will surely mislead them

اور البتہ میں ضرور بھٹکاؤں گا ان کو

wala-umanniyannahum

and surely arouse desires in them

اور البتہ میں ضرور امیدیں دلاؤں گا ان کو

and surely I will order them

اور البتہ میں ضرور حکم دوں گا ان کو

falayubattikunna

so they will surely cut off

پھر البتہ وہ ضرور کاٹیں گے

(the) ears

(of) the cattle

جانوروں کے

walaāmurannahum

and surely I will order them

اور البتہ میں ضرور حکم دوں گا ان کو

falayughayyirunna

so they will surely change

پس البتہ وہ ضرور بدل دیں گے

تخلیق کو

(of) Allah

اللہ کی

waman

And whoever

اور جو کوئی

yattakhidhi

takes

بنائے گا

l-shayṭāna

the Shaitaan

شیطان کو

waliyyan

(as) a friend

دوست

سوا

Allah

faqad

then surely

تو تحقیق

khasira

he (has) lost

اس نے نقصان اٹھایا

khus'rānan

a loss

نقصان اٹھانا

mubīnan

manifest

کھلم کھلا

Urdu —

میں انہیں ضرور گمراہ کردوں گا اور ضرور انہیں غلط اُمیدیں دلاؤں گا اور انہیں ضرور حکم دیتا رہوں گا سو وہ یقیناً جانوروں کے کان چیرا کریں گے اور میں انہیں ضرور حکم دیتا رہوں گا سو وہ یقیناً اللہ کی بنائی ہوئی چیزوں کو بدلا کریں گے، اور جو کوئی اللہ کو چھوڑ کر شیطان کو دوست بنالے تو واقعی وہ صریح نقصان میں رہا

— English

And I will mislead them, and I will arouse in them [sinful] desires, and I will command them so they will slit the ears of cattle, and I will command them so they will change the creation of Allah." And whoever takes Satan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss.

حُرِّمَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمُ الۡمَيۡتَةُ وَالدَّمُ وَلَحۡمُ الۡخِنۡزِيۡرِ وَمَاۤ اُهِلَّ لِغَيۡرِ اللّٰهِ بِهٖ وَالۡمُنۡخَنِقَةُ وَالۡمَوۡقُوۡذَةُ وَالۡمُتَرَدِّيَةُ وَالنَّطِيۡحَةُ وَمَاۤ اَكَلَ السَّبُعُ اِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيۡتُمۡ وَمَا ذُبِحَ عَلَى النُّصُبِ وَاَنۡ تَسۡتَقۡسِمُوۡا بِالۡاَزۡلَامِ‌ؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ فِسۡقٌ‌ؕ الۡيَوۡمَ يَٮِٕسَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ دِيۡـنِكُمۡ فَلَا تَخۡشَوۡهُمۡ وَاخۡشَوۡنِ‌ؕ اَلۡيَوۡمَ اَكۡمَلۡتُ لَـكُمۡ دِيۡنَكُمۡ وَاَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِىۡ وَرَضِيۡتُ لَكُمُ الۡاِسۡلَامَ دِيۡنًا‌ؕ فَمَنِ اضۡطُرَّ فِىۡ مَخۡمَصَةٍ غَيۡرَ مُتَجَانِفٍ لِّاِثۡمٍ‌ۙ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ‏‏ 

— Transliteration

Hurrimat AAalaykumu almaytatu waddamuwalahmu alkhinzeeri wama ohilla lighayri Allahibihi walmunkhaniqatu walmawqoothatu walmutaraddiyatuwannateehatu wama akala assabuAAuilla ma thakkaytum wama thubihaAAala annusubi waan tastaqsimoo bil-azlamithalikum fisqun alyawma ya-isa allatheena kafaroomin deenikum fala takhshawhum wakhshawni alyawmaakmaltu lakum deenakum waatmamtu AAalaykum niAAmatee waradeetulakumu al-islama deenan famani idturra fee makhmasatinghayra mutajanifin li-ithmin fa-inna Allahaghafoorun raheem

اور جو گلا گھٹ کر مرنے والی

wal-mawqūdhatu

and that which is hit fatally

اور جو چوٹ کھا کر مرنے والی

wal-mutaradiyatu

and that which has a fatal fall

اور جو بلندی سے گر کر مرنے والی

wal-naṭīḥatu

and that which is red by horns

اور جو ٹکر کھا کر مرنے والی

wamā

and that which

اور جو

akala

ate (it)

کھائیں

l-sabuʿu

the wild animal

درندے

illā

except

مگر

mā

what

جو

dhakkaytum

you slaughtered

ذبح کرلیا تم نے

wamā

and what

اور جو

dhubiḥa

is sacrificed

ذبح کیا گیا

ʿalā

پر

l-nuṣubi

the stone altars

آستانوں

wa-an

and that

اور یہ کہ

tastaqsimū

you seek division

تم قسمت معلوم کرو

bil-azlāmi

by divining arrows

تیروں کے ذریعے

dhālikum

that

یہ سب کام

fis'qun

(is) grave disobedience

فسق ہیں۔ نافرمانی ہیں

l-yawma

This day

آج کے دن

ya-isa

(have) despaired

مایوس ہوگئے

alladhīna

those who

وہ لوگ

kafarū

disbelieved

جنہوں نے کفر کیا

min

سے

dīnikum

your religion

تمہارے دین

falā

so (do) not

تو نہ

takhshawhum

fear them

تم ڈرو ان سے

wa-ikh'shawni

but fear Me

اور ڈرو مجھ سے

l-yawma

This day

آج کے دن

akmaltu

I have perfected

میں نے مکمل کردیا

lakum

for you

تمہارے لیے

dīnakum

your religion

تمہارا دین

wa-atmamtu

and I have completed

اور میں نے تمام کردی

ʿalaykum

upon you

تم پر

niʿ'matī

My Favor

اپنی نعمت

waraḍītu

and I have approved

اور میں نے پسند کرلیا

lakumu

for you

تمہارے لیے

l-is'lāma

[the] Islam

اسلام کو

dīnan

(as) a religion

بطور دین

famani

But whoever

تو جو کوئی

uḍ'ṭurra

(is) forced

مجبور کیا جائے

fī

میں

makhmaṣatin

hunger

بھوک

ghayra

(and) not

نہ

mutajānifin

inclining

مائل ہونے والا ہو

li-ith'min

to sin

گناہ کی طرف

fa-inna

then indeed,

تو بیشک

l-laha

Allah

اللہ

ghafūrun

(is) Oft-Forgiving

بخشنے والا

raḥīmun

Most Merciful

مہربان ہے

Urdu —

تم پر مردار (یعنی بغیر شرعی ذبح کے مرنے والا جانور) حرام کر دیا گیا ہے اور (بہایا ہوا) خون اور سؤر کا گوشت اور وہ (جانور) جس پر ذبح کے وقت غیر اﷲ کا نام پکارا گیا ہو اور گلا گھٹ کر مرا ہوا (جانور) اور (دھار دار آلے کے بغیر کسی چیز کی) ضرب سے مرا ہوا اور اوپر سے گر کر مرا ہوا اور (کسی جانور کے) سینگ مارنے سے مرا ہوا اور وہ (جانور) جسے درندے نے پھاڑ کھایا ہو سوائے اس کے جسے (مرنے سے پہلے) تم نے ذبح کر لیا، اور (وہ جانور بھی حرام ہے) جو باطل معبودوں کے تھانوں (یعنی بتوں کے لئے مخصوص کی گئی قربان گاہوں) پر ذبح کیا گیا ہو اور یہ (بھی حرام ہے) کہ تم پانسوں (یعنی فال کے تیروں) کے ذریعے قسمت کا حال معلوم کرو (یا حصے تقسیم کرو)، یہ سب کام گناہ ہیں۔ آج کافر لوگ تمہارے دین (کے غالب آجانے کے باعث اپنے ناپاک ارادوں) سے مایوس ہو گئے، سو (اے مسلمانو!) تم ان سے مت ڈرو اور مجھ ہی سے ڈرا کرو۔ آج میں نے تمہارے لئے تمہارا دین مکمل کر دیا اور تم پر اپنی نعمت پوری کر دی اور تمہارے لئے اسلام کو (بطور) دین (یعنی مکمل نظامِ حیات کی حیثیت سے) پسند کر لیا۔ پھر اگر کوئی شخص بھوک (اور پیاس) کی شدت میں اضطراری (یعنی انتہائی مجبوری کی) حالت کو پہنچ جائے (اس شرط کے ساتھ) کہ گناہ کی طرف مائل ہونے والا نہ ہو (یعنی حرام چیز گناہ کی رغبت کے باعث نہ کھائے)تو بیشک اﷲ بہت بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے

— English

Prohibited to you are dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah, and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns, and those from which a wild animal has eaten, except what you [are able to] slaughter [before its death], and those which are sacrificed on stone altars, and [prohibited is] that you seek decision through divining arrows. That is grave disobedience. This day those who disbelieve have despaired of [defeating] your religion; so fear them not, but fear Me. This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion. But whoever is forced by severe hunger with no inclination to sin - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِذَا قُمۡتُمۡ اِلَى الصَّلٰوةِ فَاغۡسِلُوۡا وُجُوۡهَكُمۡ وَاَيۡدِيَكُمۡ اِلَى الۡمَرَافِقِ وَامۡسَحُوۡا بِرُءُوۡسِكُمۡ وَاَرۡجُلَكُمۡ اِلَى الۡـكَعۡبَيۡنِ‌ؕ وَاِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّرُوۡا‌ؕ وَاِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مَّرۡضَىٰۤ اَوۡ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ اَوۡ جَآءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنۡكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡغَآٮِٕطِ اَوۡ لٰمَسۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَلَمۡ تَجِدُوۡا مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُوۡا صَعِيۡدًا طَيِّبًا فَامۡسَحُوۡا بِوُجُوۡهِكُمۡ وَاَيۡدِيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡهُ‌ؕ مَا يُرِيۡدُ اللّٰهُ لِيَجۡعَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ حَرَجٍ وَّلٰـكِنۡ يُّرِيۡدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهٗ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Urdu —

اے ایمان والو! جب (تمہارا) نماز کیلئے کھڑے (ہونے کا ارادہ) ہو تو (وضو کے لئے) اپنے چہروں کو اور اپنے ہاتھوں کو کہنیوں سمیت دھو لو اور اپنے سروں کا مسح کرو اور اپنے پاؤں (بھی) ٹخنوں سمیت (دھو لو)، اور اگر تم حالتِ جنابت میں ہو تو (نہا کر) خوب پاک ہو جاؤ، اور اگر تم بیمار ہو یا سفر میں ہو یا تم سے کوئی رفعِ حاجت سے (فارغ ہو کر) آیا ہو یا تم نے عورتوں سے قربت (مجامعت) کی ہو پھر تم پانی نہ پاؤ تو (اندریں صورت) پاک مٹی سے تیمم کر لیا کرو۔ پس (تیمم یہ ہے کہ) اس (پاک مٹی) سے اپنے چہروں اور اپنے (پورے) ہاتھوں کا مسح کر لو۔ اﷲ نہیں چاہتا کہ وہ تمہارے اوپر کسی قسم کی سختی کرے لیکن وہ (یہ) چاہتا ہے کہ تمہیں پاک کردے اور تم پر اپنی نعمت پوری کر دے تاکہ تم شکر گزار بن جاؤ

O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.

— Transliteration

FabaAAatha Allahu ghuraban yabhathufee al-ardi liyuriyahu kayfa yuwaree saw-ataakheehi qala ya waylata aAAajaztu an akoonamithla hatha alghurabi faowariya saw-ataakhee faasbaha mina annadimeen

پھر اﷲ نے ایک کوّا بھیجا جو زمین کریدنے لگا تاکہ اسے دکھائے کہ وہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش کس طرح چھپائے، (یہ دیکھ کر) اس نے کہا: ہائے افسوس! کیا میں اس کوّے کی مانند بھی نہ ہوسکا کہ اپنے بھائی کی لاش چھپا دیتا، سو وہ پشیمان ہونے والوں میں سے ہوگیا

Then Allah sent a crow searching in the ground to show him how to hide the disgrace of his brother. He said, "O woe to me! Have I failed to be like this crow and hide the body of my brother?" And he became of the regretful.

Wakatabna AAalayhim feeha annaannafsa binnafsi walAAayna bilAAayniwal-anfa bil-anfi walothuna bilothuniwassinna bissinni waljurooha qisasunfaman tasaddaqa bihi fahuwa kaffaratun lahu wamanlam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faola-ikahumu aththalimoon

And whoever

اور جو کوئی

(does) not

فیصلہ کرے

by what

ساتھ اس کے جو

has revealed

نازل کیا

Allah

اللہ نے

fa-ulāika

then those

تو یہی لوگ ہیں

humu

[they]

وہ

l-ẓālimūna

(are) the wrongdoers

جو ظالم ہیں

Urdu —

اور ہم نے اس (تورات) میں ان پر فرض کردیا تھا کہ جان کے بدلے جان اور آنکھ کے عوض آنکھ اور ناک کے بدلے ناک اور کان کے عوض کان اور دانت کے بدلے دانت اور زخموں میں (بھی) بدلہ ہے، تو جو شخص اس (قصاص) کو صدقہ (یعنی معاف) کر دے تو یہ اس (کے گناہوں) کے لئے کفارہ ہوگا، اور جو شخص اللہ کے نازل کردہ حکم کے مطابق فیصلہ (و حکومت) نہ کرے سو وہی لوگ ظالم ہیں

And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

Urdu —

اور (یہی وجہ ہے کہ ان میں سے بعض سچے عیسائی جب اس (قرآن) کو سنتے ہیں جو رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف اتارا گیا ہے تو آپ ان کی آنکھوں کو اشک ریز دیکھتے ہیں۔ (یہ آنسوؤں کا چھلکنا) اس حق کے باعث (ہے) جس کی انہیں معرفت (نصیب) ہوگئی ہے۔ (ساتھ یہ) عرض کرتے ہیں: اے ہمارے رب! ہم (تیرے بھیجے ہوئے حق پر) ایمان لے آئے ہیں سو تو ہمیں (بھی حق کی) گواہی دینے والوں کے ساتھ لکھ لے

And when they hear what has been revealed to the Messenger, you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of what they have recognized of the truth. They say, "Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses.

اور ہم ان کے دلوں کو اور ان کی آنکھوں کو (ان کی اپنی بدنیتی کے باعث قبولِ حق) سے (اسی طرح) پھیر دیں گے جس طرح وہ اس (نبی) پر پہلی بار ایمان نہیں لائے (سو وہ نشانی دیکھ کر بھی ایمان نہیں لائیں گے) اور ہم انہیں ان کی سرکشی میں (ہی) چھوڑ دیں گے کہ وہ بھٹکتے پھریں

And We will turn away their hearts and their eyes just as they refused to believe in it the first time. And We will leave them in their transgression, wandering blindly.

WaAAala allatheena hadooharramna kulla thee thufurinwamina albaqari walghanami harramnaAAalayhim shuhoomahuma illa ma hamalatthuhooruhuma awi alhawayaaw ma ikhtalata biAAathmin thalikajazaynahum bibaghyihim wa-inna lasadiqoon

اور یہودیوں پر ہم نے ہر ناخن والا (جانور) حرام کر دیا تھا اور گائے اور بکری میں سے ہم نے ان پر دونوں کی چربی حرام کر دی تھی سوائے اس (چربی) کے جو دونوں کی پیٹھ میں ہو یا اوجھڑی میں لگی ہو یا جو ہڈی کے ساتھ ملی ہو۔ یہ ہم نے ان کی سرکشی کے باعث انہیں سزا دی تھی اور یقینا ہم سچے ہیں

And to those who are Jews We prohibited every animal of uncloven hoof; and of the cattle and the sheep We prohibited to them their fat, except what adheres to their backs or the entrails or what is joined with bone. [By] that We repaid them for their injustice. And indeed, We are truthful.

Ith yoohee rabbuka ilaalmala-ikati annee maAAakum fathabbitoo allatheena amanoosaolqee fee quloobi allatheena kafaroo arruAAba fadriboofawqa al-aAAnaqi wadriboo minhum kulla banan

(اے حبیبِ مکرم! اپنے اعزاز کا وہ منظر بھی یاد کیجئے) جب آپ کے رب نے فرشتوں کو پیغام بھیجا کہ (اَصحابِ رسول کی مدد کے لئے) میں (بھی) تمہارے ساتھ ہوں، سو تم (بشارت و نصرت کے ذریعے) ایمان والوں کو ثابت قدم رکھو، میں ابھی کافروں کے دلوں میں (لشکرِ محمدی صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا) رعب و ہیبت ڈالے دیتا ہوں سو تم (کافروں کی) گردنوں کے اوپر سے ضرب لگانا اور ان کے ایک ایک جوڑ کو توڑ دینا

[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip."

(اے فرعون!) سو آج ہم تیرے (بے جان) جسم کو بچالیں گے تاکہ تو اپنے بعد والوں کے لئے (عبرت کا) نشان ہوسکے اور بیشک اکثر لوگ ہماری نشانیوں (کو سمجھنے) سے غافل ہیں

So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless

فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكٌۢ بَعۡضَ مَا يُوۡحٰٓى اِلَيۡكَ وَضَآٮِٕقٌۢ بِهٖ صَدۡرُكَ اَنۡ يَّقُوۡلُوۡا لَوۡلَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ كَنۡزٌ اَوۡ جَآءَ مَعَهٗ مَلَكٌ‌ ؕ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ نَذِيۡرٌ‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ وَّكِيۡلٌؕ‏ 

— Transliteration

FalaAAallaka tarikun baAAda mayooha ilayka wada-iqun bihi sadruka anyaqooloo lawla onzila AAalayhi kanzun aw jaamaAAahu malakun innama anta natheerun wallahuAAala kulli shay-in wakeel

Urdu —

بھلا کیا یہ ممکن ہے کہ آپ اس میں سے کچھ چھوڑ دیں جو آپ کی طرف وحی کیا گیا ہے اور اس سے آپ کا سینہء (اَطہر) تنگ ہونے لگے (اس خیال سے) کہ کفار یہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر کوئی خزانہ کیوں نہ اتارا گیا یا اس کے ساتھ کوئی فرشتہ کیوں نہیں آیا، (ایسا ہرگز ممکن نہیں۔ اے رسولِ معظم!) آپ تو صرف ڈر سنانے والے ہیں (کسی کو دنیوی لالچ یا سزا دینے والے نہیں)، اور اﷲ ہر چیز پر نگہبان ہے

Then would you possibly leave [out] some of what is revealed to you, or is your breast constrained by it because they say, "Why has there not been sent down to him a treasure or come with him an angel?" But you are only a warner. And Allah is Disposer of all things.

Wakullan naqussu AAalayka min anba-iarrusuli ma nuthabbitu bihi fu-adaka wajaakafee hathihi alhaqqu wamawAAithatun wathikralilmu/mineen

اور ہم رسولوں کی خبروں میں سے سب حالات آپ کو سنا رہے ہیں جس سے ہم آپ کے قلبِ (اَطہر) کو تقویت دیتے ہیں، اور آپ کے پاس اس (سورت) میں حق اور نصیحت آئی ہے اور اہلِ ایمان کے لئے عبرت (و یاددہانی بھی)

And each [story] We relate to you from the news of the messengers is that by which We make firm your heart. And there has come to you, in this, the truth and an instruction and a reminder for the believers.

— Transliteration

Lahu daAAwatu alhaqqi wallatheenayadAAoona min doonihi la yastajeeboona lahum bishay-in illakabasiti kaffayhi ila alma-iliyablugha fahu wama huwa bibalighihi wamaduAAao alkafireena illa fee dalal

اسی کے لئے حق (یعنی توحید) کی دعوت ہے، اور وہ (کافر) لوگ جو اس کے سوا (معبودانِ باطلہ یعنی بتوں) کی عبادت کرتے ہیں، وہ انہیں کسی چیز کا جواب بھی نہیں دے سکتے۔ ان کی مثال تو صرف اس شخص جیسی ہے جو اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیاں پانی کی طرف پھیلائے (بیٹھا) ہو کہ پانی (خود) اس کے منہ تک پہنچ جائے اور (یوں تو) وہ (پانی) اس تک پہنچنے والا نہیں، اور (اسی طرح) کافروں کا (بتوں کی عبادت اور ان سے) دعا کرنا گمراہی میں بھٹکنے کے سوا کچھ نہیں

To Him [alone] is the supplication of truth. And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus]. And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e. futility].

اور ہم نے ہر انسان کے اعمال کا نوشتہ اس کی گردن میں لٹکا دیا ہے، اور ہم اس کے لئے قیامت کے دن (یہ) نامۂ اعمال نکالیں گے جسے وہ (اپنے سامنے) کھلا ہوا پائے گا

And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open.

He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy.

Ani iqthifeehi fee attabootifaqthifeehi fee alyammi falyulqihi alyammu bissahiliya/khuthhu AAaduwwun lee waAAaduwwun lahu waalqaytuAAalayka mahabbatan minnee walitusnaAAa AAalaAAaynee

کہ تم اس (موسٰی علیہ السلام) کو صندوق میں رکھ دو پھر اس (صندوق) کو دریا میں ڈال دو پھر دریا اسے کنارے کے ساتھ آلگائے گا، اسے میرا دشمن اور اس کا دشمن اٹھا لے گا، اور میں نے تجھ پر اپنی جناب سے (خاص) محبت کا پرتَو ڈال دیا ہے (یعنی تیری صورت کو اس قدر پیاری اور من موہنی بنا دیا ہے کہ جو تجھے دیکھے گا فریفتہ ہو جائے گا)، اور (یہ اس لئے کیا) تاکہ تمہاری پرورش میری آنکھوں کے سامنے کی جائے

[Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ فِىۡ رَيۡبٍ مِّنَ الۡبَعۡثِ فَاِنَّا خَلَقۡنٰكُمۡ مِّنۡ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنۡ نُّـطۡفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنۡ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنۡ مُّضۡغَةٍ مُّخَلَّقَةٍ وَّغَيۡرِ مُخَلَّقَةٍ لِّـنُبَيِّنَ لَـكُمۡ‌ؕ وَنُقِرُّ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡحَامِ مَا نَشَآءُ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ثُمَّ نُخۡرِجُكُمۡ طِفۡلاً ثُمَّ لِتَبۡلُغُوۡۤا اَشُدَّكُمۡ‌ۚ وَمِنۡكُمۡ مَّنۡ يُّتَوَفّٰى وَمِنۡكُمۡ مَّنۡ يُّرَدُّ اِلٰٓى اَرۡذَلِ الۡعُمُرِ لِكَيۡلَا يَعۡلَمَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ عِلۡمٍ شَيْئًا ؕ وَتَرَى الۡاَرۡضَ هَامِدَةً فَاِذَاۤ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا الۡمَآءَ اهۡتَزَّتۡ وَرَبَتۡ وَاَنۡۢبَـتَتۡ مِنۡ كُلِّ زَوۡجٍۢ بَهِيۡجٍ‏ 

— Transliteration

Ya ayyuha annasuin kuntum fee raybin mina albaAAthi fa-inna khalaqnakummin turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma minAAalaqatin thumma min mudghatin mukhallaqatin waghayrimukhallaqatin linubayyina lakum wanuqirru fee al-arhami manashao ila ajalin musamman thumma nukhrijukum tiflanthumma litablughoo ashuddakum waminkum man yutawaffawaminkum man yuraddu ila arthali alAAumuri likaylayaAAlama min baAAdi AAilmin shay-an watara al-ardahamidatan fa-itha anzalna AAalayhaalmaa ihtazzat warabat waanbatat min kulli zawjin baheej

Urdu —

اے لوگو! اگر تمہیں (مرنے کے بعد) جی اٹھنے میں شک ہے تو (اپنی تخلیق و ارتقاء پر غور کرو کہ) ہم نے تمہاری تخلیق (کی کیمیائی ابتداء) مٹی سے کی پھر (حیاتیاتی ابتداء) ایک تولیدی قطرہ سے پھر (رحم مادر کے اندر جونک کی صورت میں) معلق وجود سے پھر ایک (ایسے) لوتھڑے سے جو دانتوں سے چبایا ہوا لگتا ہے، جس میں بعض اعضاء کی ابتدائی تخلیق نمایاں ہو چکی ہے اور بعض (اعضاء) کی تخلیق ابھی عمل میں نہیں آئی تاکہ ہم تمہارے لئے (اپنی قدرت اور اپنے کلام کی حقانیت) ظاہر کر دیں، اور ہم جسے چاہتے ہیں رحموں میں مقررہ مدت تک ٹھہرائے رکھتے ہیں پھر ہم تمہیں بچہ بنا کر نکالتے ہیں، پھر (تمہاری پرورش کرتے ہیں) تاکہ تم اپنی جوانی کو پہنچ جاؤ، اور تم میں سے وہ بھی ہیں جو (جلد) وفات پا جاتے ہیں اور کچھ وہ ہیں جو نہایت ناکارہ عمر تک لوٹائے جاتے ہیں تاکہ وہ (شخص یہ منظر بھی دیکھ لے کہ) سب کچھ جان لینے کے بعد (اب پھر) کچھ (بھی) نہیں جانتا، اور تو زمین کو بالکل خشک (مُردہ) دیکھتا ہے پھر جب ہم اس پر پانی برسا دیتے ہیں تو اس میں تازگی و شادابی کی جنبش آجاتی ہے اور وہ پھولنے بڑھنے لگتی ہے اور خوش نما نباتات میں سے ہر نوع کے جوڑے اگاتی ہے

O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

— Transliteration

Qala sanashuddu AAadudakabi-akheeka wanajAAalu lakuma sultanan falayasiloona ilaykuma bi-ayatinaantuma wamani ittabaAAakuma alghaliboon

We will strengthen

عنقریب ہم مضبوط کریں گے

through your brother

for both of you

Through Our Signs

ہماری نشانیوں کے ساتھ

you two

تم دونوں

wamani

and (those) who

اور جو

ittabaʿakumā

follow you

پیروی کریں تم دونوں کی

(will) be the dominant

غالب آنے والے ہیں

Urdu —

ارشاد فرمایا: ہم تمہارا بازو تمہارے بھائی کے ذریعے مضبوط کر دیں گے۔ اور ہم تم دونوں کے لئے (لوگوں کے دلوں میں اور تمہاری کاوشوں میں) ہیبت و غلبہ پیدا کئے دیتے ہیں۔ سو وہ ہماری نشانیوں کے سبب سے تم تک (گزند پہنچانے کے لئے) نہیں پہنچ سکیں گے، تم دونوں اور جو لوگ تمہاری پیروی کریں گے غالب رہیں گے

[Allah] said, "We will strengthen your arm through your brother and grant you both supremacy so they will not reach you. [It will be] through Our signs; you and those who follow you will be the predominant."

Ith jaookum min fawqikum waminasfala minkum wa-ith zaghati al-absaruwabalaghati alquloobu alhanajira watathunnoonabillahi aththunoona

جب وہ (کافر) تمہارے اوپر (وادی کی بالائی مشرقی جانب) سے اور تمہارے نیچے (وادی کی زیریں مغربی جانب) سے چڑھ آئے تھے اور جب (ہیبت سے تمہاری) آنکھیں پھر گئی تھیں اور (دہشت سے تمہارے) دل حلقوم تک آپہنچے تھے اور تم (خوف و امید کی کیفیت میں) اللہ کی نسبت مختلف گمان کرنے لگے تھے

[Remember] when they came at you from above you and from below you, and when eyes shifted [in fear], and hearts reached the throats and you assumed about Allah [various] assumptions.

— Transliteration

Walaw yu-akhithu Allahuannasa bima kasaboo ma taraka AAalathahriha min dabbatin walakinyu-akhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman fa-itha jaaajaluhum fa-inna Allaha kana biAAibadihi baseera

Urdu —

اور اگر اﷲ لوگوں کو اُن اعمالِ (بد) کے بدلے جو انہوں نے کما رکھے ہیں (عذاب کی) گرفت میں لینے لگے تو وہ اس زمین کی پشت پر کسی چلنے والے کو نہ چھوڑے لیکن وہ انہیں مقررہ مدّت تک مہلت دے رہا ہے۔ پھر جب ان کا مقررہ وقت آجائے گا تو بیشک اﷲ اپنے بندوں کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے

— English

And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for what they have earned, He would not leave upon the earth any creature. But He defers them for a specified term. And when their time comes, then indeed Allah has ever been, of His servants, Seeing.

Inna jaAAalna fee aAAnaqihimaghlalan fahiya ila al-athqani fahummuqmahoon

بیشک ہم نے اُن کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈال دیئے ہیں تو وہ اُن کی ٹھوڑیوں تک ہیں، پس وہ سر اوپر اٹھائے ہوئے ہیں

Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so they are with heads [kept] aloft.

اور آپ ان کو قریب آنے والی آفت کے دن سے ڈرائیں جب ضبطِ غم سے کلیجے منہ کو آئیں گے۔ ظالموں کے لئے نہ کوئی مہربان دوست ہوگا اور نہ کوئی سفارشی جس کی بات مانی جائے

— English

And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Approaching Day, when hearts are at the throats, filled [with distress]. For the wrongdoers there will be no devoted friend and no intercessor [who is] obeyed.

— Transliteration

Mathalu aljannati allatee wuAAidaalmuttaqoona feeha anharun min ma-in ghayri asininwaanharun min labanin lam yataghayyar taAAmuhuwaanharun min khamrin laththatin lishsharibeenawaanharun min AAasalin musaffan walahum feehamin kulli aththamarati wamaghfiratun min rabbihimkaman huwa khalidun fee annari wasuqoo maanhameeman faqattaAAa amAAaahum

Urdu —

جس جنّت کا پرہیزگاروں سے وعدہ کیا گیا ہے اس کی صفت یہ ہے کہ اس میں (ایسے) پانی کی نہریں ہوں گی جس میں کبھی (بو یا رنگت کا) تغیّر نہ آئے گا، اور (اس میں ایسے) دودھ کی نہریں ہوں گی جس کا ذائقہ اور مزہ کبھی نہ بدلے گا، اور (ایسے) شرابِ (طہور) کی نہریں ہوں گی جو پینے والوں کے لئے سراسر لذّت ہے، اور خوب صاف کئے ہوئے شہد کی نہریں ہوں گی، اور ان کے لئے اس میں ہر قسم کے پھل ہوں گے اور ان کے رب کی جانب سے (ہر طرح کی) بخشائش ہوگی، (کیا یہ پرہیزگار) ان لوگوں کی طرح ہو سکتا ہے جو ہمیشہ دوزخ میں رہنے والے ہیں اور جنہیں کھولتا ہوا پانی پلایا جائے گا تو وہ ان کی آنتوں کو کاٹ کر ٹکڑے ٹکڑے کر دے گاo

Is the description of Paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all [kinds of] fruits and forgiveness from their Lord, like [that of] those who abide eternally in the Fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines?

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهٖ نَفۡسُهٗ ۖۚ وَنَحۡنُ اَقۡرَبُ اِلَيۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ الۡوَرِيۡدِ‏ 

— Transliteration

Walaqad khalaqna al-insanawanaAAlamu ma tuwaswisu bihi nafsuhu wanahnu aqrabuilayhi min habli alwareed

اور بیشک ہم نے انسان کو پیدا کیا ہے اور ہم اُن وسوسوں کو (بھی) جانتے ہیں جو اس کا نفس (اس کے دل و دماغ میں) ڈالتا ہے۔ اور ہم اس کی شہ رگ سے بھی زیادہ اس کے قریب ہیںo

And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein

Wa-innee kullama daAAawtuhumlitaghfira lahum jaAAaloo asabiAAahum fee athanihimwastaghshaw thiyabahum waasarroo wastakbarooistikbara

and were arrogant

اور میں نے جب (بھی) اُنہیں (ایمان کی طرف) بلایا تاکہ تو انہیں بخش دے تو انہوں نے اپنی انگلیاں اپنے کانوں میں دے لیں اور اپنے اوپر اپنے کپڑے لپیٹ لئے اور (کفر پر) ہٹ دھرمی کی اور شدید تکبر کیاo

And indeed, every time I invited them that You may forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, covered themselves with their garments, persisted, and were arrogant with [great] arrogance.
