اَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَالَتۡ اَوۡدِيَةٌۢ بِقَدَرِهَا فَاحۡتَمَلَ السَّيۡلُ زَبَدًا رَّابِيًاؕ وَمِمَّا يُوۡقِدُوۡنَ عَلَيۡهِ فِىۡ النَّارِ ابۡتِغَآءَ حِلۡيَةٍ اَوۡ مَتَاعٍ زَبَدٌ مِّثۡلُهٗؕ كَذٰلِكَ يَضۡرِبُ اللّٰهُ الۡحَـقَّ وَالۡبَاطِلَ ؕ فَاَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذۡهَبُ جُفَآءًۚ وَاَمَّا مَا يَنۡفَعُ النَّاسَ فَيَمۡكُثُ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِؕ كَذٰلِكَ يَضۡرِبُ اللّٰهُ الۡاَمۡثَالَؕ
— Transliteration
Anzala mina assama-i maanfasalat awdiyatun biqadariha fahtamalaassaylu zabadan rabiyan wamimma yooqidoonaAAalayhi fee annari ibtighaa hilyatinaw mataAAin zabadun mithluhu kathalika yadribuAllahu alhaqqa walbatila faammaazzabadu fayathhabu jufaan waamma mayanfaAAu annasa fayamkuthu fee al-ardi kathalikayadribu Allahu al-amthal

اس نے آسمان کی جانب سے پانی اتارا تو وادیاں اپنی (اپنی) گنجائش کے مطابق بہہ نکلیں، پھر سیلاب کی رَو نے ابھرا ہوا جھاگ اٹھا لیا، اور جن چیزوں کو آگ میں تپاتے ہیں، زیور یا دوسرا سامان بنانے کے لئے اس پر بھی ویسا ہی جھاگ اٹھتا ہے، اس طرح اﷲ حق اور باطل کی مثالیں بیان فرماتا ہے، سو جھاگ تو (پانی والا ہو یا آگ والا سب) بے کار ہو کر رہ جاتا ہے اور البتہ جو کچھ لوگوں کے لئے نفع بخش ہوتا ہے وہ زمین میں باقی رہتا ہے، اﷲ اس طرح مثالیں بیان فرماتا ہے

He sends down from the sky, rain, and valleys flow according to their capacity, and the torrent carries a rising foam. And from that [ore] which they heat in the fire, desiring adornments and utensils, is a foam like it. Thus Allah presents [the example of] truth and falsehood. As for the foam, it vanishes, [being] cast off; but as for that which benefits the people, it remains on the earth. Thus does Allah present examples.

اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَاَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَاَخۡرَجَ بِهٖ مِنَ الثَّمَرٰتِ رِزۡقًا لَّـكُمۡۚ وَسَخَّرَ لَـكُمُ الۡـفُلۡكَ لِتَجۡرِىَ فِىۡ الۡبَحۡرِ بِاَمۡرِهٖۚ وَسَخَّرَ لَـكُمُ الۡاَنۡهٰرَۚ
— Transliteration
Allahu allathee khalaqa assamawatiwal-arda waanzala mina assama-i maanfaakhraja bihi mina aththamarati rizqan lakumwasakhkhara lakumu alfulka litajriya fee albahri bi-amrihiwasakhkhara lakumu al-anhar

اللہ وہ ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا فرمایا اور آسمان کی جانب سے پانی اتارا پھر اس پانی کے ذریعہ سے تمہارے رزق کے طور پر پھل پیدا کئے، اور اس نے تمہارے لئے کشتیوں کو مسخر کر دیا تاکہ اس کے حکم سے سمندر میں چلتی رہیں اور اس نے تمہارے لئے دریاؤں کو (بھی) مسخر کر دیا

It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.

Waalqa fee al-ardi rawasiyaan tameeda bikum waanharan wasubulan laAAallakum tahtadoon

اور اسی نے زمین میں (مختلف مادوں کو باہم ملا کر) بھاری پہاڑ بنا دیئے تاکہ ایسا نہ ہو کہ کہیں وہ (اپنے مدار میں حرکت کرتے ہوئے) تمہیں لے کر کانپنے لگے اور نہریں اور (قدرتی) راستے (بھی) بنائے تاکہ تم (منزلوں تک پہنچنے کے لئے) راہ پا سکو

And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided,

اَلَمۡ تَرَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ اَنۡزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً فَسَلَـكَهٗ يَنَابِيۡعَ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ ثُمَّ يُخۡرِجُ بِهٖ زَرۡعًا مُّخۡتَلِفًا اَلۡوَانُهٗ ثُمَّ يَهِيۡجُ فَتَرٰٮهُ مُصۡفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَجۡعَلُهٗ حُطَامًاؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰلِكَ لَذِكۡرٰى لِاُولِىۡ الۡاَلۡبَابِ

Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina assama-imaan fasalakahu yanabeeAAa fee al-ardithumma yukhriju bihi zarAAan mukhtalifan alwanuhu thummayaheeju fatarahu musfarran thumma yajAAaluhu hutamaninna fee thalika lathikra li-olee al-albab

(اے انسان!) کیا تو نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ نے آسمان سے پانی برسایا، پھر زمین میں اس کے چشمے رواں کیے، پھر اس کے ذریعے کھیتی پیدا کرتا ہے جس کے رنگ جداگانہ ہوتے ہیں، پھر وہ (تیار ہوکر) خشک ہو جاتی ہے، پھر (پکنے کے بعد) تو اسے زرد دیکھتا ہے، پھر وہ اسے چورا چورا کر دیتا ہے، بے شک اس میں عقل والوں کے لئے نصیحت ہے

Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and makes it flow as springs [and rivers] in the earth; then He produces thereby crops of varying colors; then they dry and you see them turned yellow; then He makes them [scattered] debris. Indeed in that is a reminder for those of understanding.
