وَهُوَ الَّذِىۡ سَخَّرَ الۡبَحۡرَ لِتَاۡكُلُوۡا مِنۡهُ لَحۡمًا طَرِيًّا وَّتَسۡتَخۡرِجُوۡا مِنۡهُ حِلۡيَةً تَلۡبَسُوۡنَهَا‌ۚ وَتَرَى الۡـفُلۡكَ مَوَاخِرَ فِيۡهِ وَلِتَبۡتَغُوۡا مِنۡ فَضۡلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ‏ 
— Transliteration
Wahuwa allathee sakhkhara albahralita/kuloo minhu lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoominhu hilyatan talbasoonaha watara alfulkamawakhira feehi walitabtaghoo min fadlihiwalaAAallakum tashkuroon

Urdu —
اور وہی ہے جس نے (فضا و بر کے علاوہ) بحر (یعنی دریاؤں اور سمندروں) کو بھی مسخر فرما دیا تاکہ تم اس میں سے تازہ (و پسندیدہ) گوشت کھاؤ اور تم اس میں سے موتی (وغیرہ) نکالو جنہیں تم زیبائش کے لئے پہنتے ہو، اور (اے انسان!) تُو کشتیوں (اور جہازوں) کو دیکھتا ہے جو (دریاؤں اور سمندروں کا) پانی چیرتے ہوئے اس میں چلے جاتے ہیں، اور (یہ سب کچھ اس لئے کیا) تاکہ تم (دور دور تک) اس کا فضل (یعنی رزق) تلاش کرو اور یہ کہ تم شکر گزار بن جاؤ
— English
And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.

وَمَا يَسۡتَوِىۡ الۡبَحۡرٰنِ‌ۖ هٰذَا عَذۡبٌ فُرَاتٌ سَآٮِٕغٌ شَرَابُهٗ وَهٰذَا مِلۡحٌ اُجَاجٌؕ وَمِنۡ كُلٍّ تَاۡكُلُوۡنَ لَحۡمًا طَرِيًّا وَّتَسۡتَخۡرِجُوۡنَ حِلۡيَةً تَلۡبَسُوۡنَهَا ۚ وَتَرَى الۡـفُلۡكَ فِيۡهِ مَوَاخِرَ لِتَبۡتَغُوۡا مِنۡ فَضۡلِهٖ وَلَعَلَّـكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ‏ 

Wama yastawee albahranihatha AAathbun furatun sa-ighun sharabuhuwahatha milhun ojajun wamin kullinta/kuloona lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoona hilyatantalbasoonaha watara alfulka feehi mawakhiralitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroon

اور دو سمندر (یا دریا) برابر نہیں ہو سکتے، یہ (ایک) شیریں، پیاس بجھانے والا ہے، اس کا پینا خوشگوار ہے اور یہ (دوسرا) کھاری، سخت کڑوا ہے، اور تم ہر ایک سے تازہ گوشت کھاتے ہو، اور زیور (جن میں موتی، مرجان اور مونگے وغیرہ سب شامل ہیں) نکالتے ہو، جنہیں تم پہنتے ہو اور تُو اس میں کشتیوں (اور جہازوں) کو دیکھتا ہے جو (پانی کو) پھاڑتے چلے جاتے ہیں تاکہ تم (بحری تجارت کے راستوں سے) اس کا فضل تلاش کر سکو اور تاکہ تم شکرگزار ہو جاؤ

And not alike are the two bodies of water. One is fresh and sweet, palatable for drinking, and one is salty and bitter. And from each you eat tender meat and extract ornaments which you wear, and you see the ships plowing through [them] that you might seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.
