Shahru ramadana allatheeonzila feehi alqur-anu hudan linnasiwabayyinatin mina alhuda walfurqanifaman shahida minkumu ashshahra falyasumhu waman kanamareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun min ayyaminokhara yureedu Allahu bikumu alyusra wala yureedubikumu alAAusra walitukmiloo alAAiddata walitukabbiroo AllahaAAala ma hadakum walaAAallakum tashkuroon

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

[Fighting in] the sacred month is for [aggression committed in] the sacred month, and for [all] violations is legal retribution. So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.

لوگ آپ سے حرمت والے مہینے میں جنگ کا حکم دریافت کرتے ہیں، فرما دیں: اس میں جنگ بڑا گناہ ہے اور اﷲ کی راہ سے روکنا اور اس سے کفر کرنا اور مسجدِ حرام (خانہ کعبہ) سے روکنا اور وہاں کے رہنے والوں کو وہاں سے نکالنا اﷲ کے نزدیک (اس سے بھی) بڑا گناہ ہے، اور یہ فتنہ انگیزی قتل و خون سے بھی بڑھ کر ہے اور (یہ کافر) تم سے ہمیشہ جنگ جاری رکھیں گے یہاں تک کہ تمہیں تمہارے دین سے پھیر دیں اگر (وہ اتنی) طاقت پاسکیں، اور تم میں سے جو شخص اپنے دین سے پھر جائے اور پھر وہ کافر ہی مرے تو ایسے لوگوں کے دنیا و آخرت میں (سب) اعمال برباد ہو جائیں گے، اور یہی لوگ جہنمی ہیں وہ اس میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے

They ask you about the sacred month - about fighting therein. Say, "Fighting therein is great [sin], but averting [people] from the way of Allah and disbelief in Him and [preventing access to] al-Masjid al-Haram and the expulsion of its people therefrom are greater [evil] in the sight of Allah. And fitnah is greater than killing." And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein eternally.

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tuhilloo shaAAa-ira Allahi walaashshahra alharama wala alhadya walaalqala-ida wala ammeena albayta alharamayabtaghoona fadlan min rabbihim waridwananwa-itha halaltum fastadoo walayajrimannakum shanaanu qawmin an saddookum AAanialmasjidi alharami an taAAtadoo wataAAawanooAAala albirri wattaqwa wala taAAawanooAAala al-ithmi walAAudwani wattaqooAllaha inna Allaha shadeedu alAAiqab

اے ایمان والو! اﷲ کی نشانیوں کی بے حرمتی نہ کرو اور نہ حرمت (و ادب) والے مہینے کی (یعنی ذوالقعدہ، ذوالحجہ، محرم اور رجب میں سے کسی ماہ کی) اور نہ حرمِ کعبہ کو بھیجے ہوئے قربانی کے جانوروں کی اور نہ مکّہ لائے جانے والے ان جانوروں کی جن کے گلے میں علامتی پٹے ہوں اور نہ حرمت والے گھر (یعنی خانہ کعبہ) کا قصد کرکے آنے والوں (کے جان و مال اور عزت و آبرو) کی (بے حرمتی کرو کیونکہ یہ وہ لوگ ہیں) جو اپنے رب کا فضل اور رضا تلاش کر رہے ہیں، اور جب تم حالتِ اِحرام سے باہر نکل آؤ تو تم شکار کرسکتے ہو، اور تمہیں کسی قوم کی (یہ) دشمنی کہ انہوں نے تم کو مسجدِ حرام (یعنی خانہ کعبہ کی حاضری) سے روکا تھا اس بات پر ہرگز نہ ابھارے کہ تم (ان کے ساتھ) زیادتی کرو، اور نیکی اور پرہیزگاری (کے کاموں) پر ایک دوسرے کی مدد کیا کرو اور گناہ اور ظلم (کے کاموں) پر ایک دوسرے کی مدد نہ کرو اور اﷲ سے ڈرتے رہو۔ بیشک اﷲ (نافرمانی کرنے والوں کو) سخت سزا دینے والا ہے

O you who have believed, do not violate the rites of Allah or [the sanctity of] the sacred month or [neglect the marking of] the sacrificial animals and garlanding [them] or [violate the safety of] those coming to the Sacred House seeking bounty from their Lord and [His] approval. But when you come out of ihram, then [you may] hunt. And do not let the hatred of a people for having obstructed you from al-Masjid al-Haram lead you to transgress. And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

حج کے چند مہینے معیّن ہیں (یعنی شوّال، ذوالقعدہ اور عشرہء ذی الحجہ)، تو جو شخص ان (مہینوں) میں نیت کر کے (اپنے اوپر) حج لازم کرلے تو حج کے دنوں میں نہ عورتوں سے اختلاط کرے اور نہ کوئی (اور) گناہ اور نہ ہی کسی سے جھگڑا کرے، اور تم جو بھلائی بھی کرو اﷲ اسے خوب جانتا ہے، اور (آخرت کے) سفر کا سامان کرلو، بیشک سب سے بہترزادِ راہ تقویٰ ہے، اور اے عقل والو! میرا تقویٰ اختیار کرو

Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do - Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding.

For those who swear not to have sexual relations with their wives is a waiting time of four months, but if they return [to normal relations] - then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

اور تم میں سے جو فوت ہو جائیں اور (اپنی) بیویاں چھوڑ جائیں تو وہ اپنے آپ کو چار ماہ دس دن انتظار میں روکے رکھیں، پھر جب وہ اپنی عدت (پوری ہونے) کو آپہنچیں تو پھر جو کچھ وہ شرعی دستور کے مطابق اپنے حق میں کریں تم پر اس معاملے میں کوئی مؤاخذہ نہیں، اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اﷲ اس سے اچھی طرح خبردار ہے

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - they, [the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]. And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable manner. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.

— Transliteration
Wama kana limu/minin anyaqtula mu/minan illa khataan waman qatala mu/minankhataan fatahreeru raqabatin mu/minatin wadiyatunmusallamatun ila ahlihi illa an yassaddaqoofa-in kana min qawmin AAaduwwin lakum wahuwa mu/minun fatahreeruraqabatin mu/minatin wa-in kana min qawmin baynakumwabaynahum meethaqun fadiyatun musallamatun ilaahlihi watahreeru raqabatin mu/minatin faman lam yajid fasiyamushahrayni mutatabiAAayni tawbatan mina Allahi wakanaAllahu AAaleeman hakeema

اور کسی مسلمان کے لئے (جائز) نہیں کہ وہ کسی مسلمان کو قتل کر دے مگر (بغیر قصد) غلطی سے، اور جس نے کسی مسلمان کو نادانستہ قتل کر دیا تو (اس پر) ایک مسلمان غلام / باندی کا آزاد کرنا اور خون بہا (کا ادا کرنا) جو مقتول کے گھر والوں کے سپرد کیا جائے (لازم ہے) مگر یہ کہ وہ معاف کر دیں، پھر اگر وہ (مقتول) تمہاری دشمن قوم سے ہو اور وہ مومن (بھی) ہو تو (صرف) ایک غلام / باندی کا آزاد کرنا (ہی لازم) ہے اور اگر وہ (مقتول) اس قوم میں سے ہو کہ تمہارے اور ان کے درمیان (صلح کا) معاہدہ ہے تو خون بہا (بھی) جو اس کے گھر والوں کے سپرد کیا جائے اور ایک مسلمان غلام / باندی کا آزاد کرنا (بھی لازم) ہے۔ پھر جس شخص کو (غلام / باندی) میسر نہ ہو تو (اس پر) پے در پے دو مہینے کے روزے (لازم) ہیں۔ اللہ کی طرف سے (یہ اس کی) توبہ ہے، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے

And never is it for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. And whoever kills a believer by mistake - then the freeing of a believing slave and a compensation payment presented to the deceased's family [is required] unless they give [up their right as] charity. But if the deceased was from a people at war with you and he was a believer - then [only] the freeing of a believing slave; and if he was from a people with whom you have a treaty - then a compensation payment presented to his family and the freeing of a believing slave. And whoever does not find [one or cannot afford to buy one] - then [instead], a fast for two months consecutively, [seeking] acceptance of repentance from Allah. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

اللہ نے عزت (و ادب) والے گھر کعبہ کو لوگوں کے (دینی و دنیوی امور میں) قیام (امن) کا باعث بنا دیا ہے اور حرمت والے مہینے کو اور کعبہ کی قربانی کو اور گلے میں علامتی پٹے والے جانوروں کو بھی (جو حرمِ مکہ میں لائے گئے ہوں سب کو اسی نسبت سے عزت و احترام عطا کر دیا گیا ہے)، یہ اس لئے کہ تمہیں علم ہو جائے کہ جو کچھ آسمانوں میں ہے اور جو کچھ زمین میں ہے اللہ خوب جانتا ہے اور اللہ ہر چیز سے بہت واقف ہے

Allah has made the Ka'bah, the Sacred House, standing for the people and [has sanctified] the sacred months and the sacrificial animals and the garlands [by which they are identified]. That is so you may know that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and that Allah is Knowing of all things.

So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers.

پھر جب حرمت والے مہینے گزر جائیں تو تم (حسبِ اعلان) مشرکوں کو قتل کر دو جہاں کہیں بھی تم ان کو پاؤ اور انہیں گرفتار کر لو اور انہیں قید کر دو اور انہیں (پکڑنے اور گھیرنے کے لئے) ہر گھات کی جگہ ان کی تاک میں بیٹھو، پس اگر وہ توبہ کر لیں اور نماز قائم کریں اور زکوٰۃ ادا کرنے لگیں تو ان کا راستہ چھوڑ دو۔ بیشک اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا نہایت مہربان ہے

And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

بیشک اللہ کے نزدیک مہینوں کی گنتی اللہ کی کتاب (یعنی نوشتۂ قدرت) میں بارہ مہینے (لکھی) ہے جس دن سے اس نے آسمانوں اور زمین (کے نظام) کو پیدا فرمایا تھا ان میں سے چار مہینے (رجب، ذو القعدہ، ذو الحجہ اور محرم) حرمت والے ہیں۔ یہی سیدھا دین ہے سو تم ان مہینوں میں (ازخود جنگ و قتال میں ملوث ہو کر) اپنی جانوں پر ظلم نہ کرنا اور تم (بھی) تمام مشرکین سے اسی طرح (جوابی) جنگ کیا کرو جس طرح وہ سب کے سب (اکٹھے ہو کر) تم سے جنگ کرتے ہیں، اور جان لو کہ بیشک اللہ پرہیزگاروں کے ساتھ ہے

Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allah [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth; of these, four are sacred. That is the correct religion, so do not wrong yourselves during them. And fight against the disbelievers collectively as they fight against you collectively. And know that Allah is with the righteous [who fear Him].

And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind - its morning [journey was that of] a month - and its afternoon [journey was that of] a month, and We made flow for him a spring of [liquid] copper. And among the jinn were those who worked for him by the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our command - We will make him taste of the punishment of the Blaze.

Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi ihsanan hamalat-hu ommuhukurhan wawadaAAat-hu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhuthalathoona shahran hatta ithabalagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaAAeena sanatan qala rabbiawziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen

اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کے ساتھ نیک سلوک کرنے کاحکم فرمایا۔ اس کی ماں نے اس کو تکلیف سے (پیٹ میں) اٹھائے رکھا اور اسے تکلیف کے ساتھ جنا، اور اس کا (پیٹ میں) اٹھانا اور اس کا دودھ چھڑانا (یعنی زمانۂ حمل و رضاعت) تیس ماہ (پر مشتمل) ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنی جوانی کو پہنچ جاتا ہے اور (پھر) چالیس سال (کی پختہ عمر) کو پہنچتا ہے، تو کہتا ہے: اے میرے رب: مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیرے اس احسان کا شکر ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھ پر اور میرے والدین پر فرمایا ہے اور یہ کہ میں ایسے نیک اعمال کروں جن سے تو راضی ہو اور میرے لئے میری اولاد میں نیکی اور خیر رکھ دے۔ بیشک میں تیری طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں اور میں یقیناً فرمانبرداروں میں سے ہوںo

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

پھر جسے (غلام یا باندی) میسّر نہ ہو تو دو ماہ متواتر روزے رکھنا (لازم ہے) قبل اِس کے کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو مَس کریں، پھر جو شخص اِس کی (بھی) طاقت نہ رکھے تو ساٹھ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا (لازم ہے)، یہ اِس لئے کہ تم اللہ اور اُس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر ایمان رکھو۔ اور یہ اللہ کی (مقرر کردہ) حدود ہیں، اور کافروں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہےo

And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allah and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allah. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

Walla-ee ya-isna mina almaheedimin nisa-ikum ini irtabtum faAAiddatuhunna thalathatuashhurin walla-ee lam yahidna waolatual-ahmali ajaluhunna an yadaAAna hamlahunnawaman yattaqi Allaha yajAAal lahu min amrihi yusra

اور تمہاری عورتوں میں سے جو حیض سے مایوس ہو چکی ہوں اگر تمہیں شک ہو (کہ اُن کی عدّت کیا ہوگی) تو اُن کی عدّت تین مہینے ہے اور وہ عورتیں جنہیں (ابھی) حیض نہیں آیا (ان کی بھی یہی عدّت ہے)، اور حاملہ عورتیں (تو) اُن کی عدّت اُن کا وضعِ حمل ہے، اور جو شخص اللہ سے ڈرتا ہے (تو) وہ اس کے کام میں آسانی فرما دیتا ہےo

And those who no longer expect menstruation among your women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for] those who have not menstruated. And for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him of his matter ease.
