Rabbana wajAAalnamuslimayni laka wamin thurriyyatina ommatanmuslimatan laka waarina manasikana watubAAalayna innaka anta attawwabu arraheem

Our Lord, and make us Muslims [in submission] to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation [in submission] to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

Wakathalika jaAAalnakumommatan wasatan litakoonoo shuhadaa AAala annasiwayakoona arrasoolu AAalaykum shaheedan wamajaAAalna alqiblata allatee kunta AAalayha illalinaAAlama man yattabiAAu arrasoola mimman yanqalibu AAalaAAaqibayhi wa-in kanat lakabeeratan illa AAalaallatheena hada Allahu wama kanaAllahu liyudeeAAa eemanakum inna Allahabinnasi laraoofun raheem

اور (اے مسلمانو!) اسی طرح ہم نے تمہیں (اعتدال والی) بہتر امت بنایا تاکہ تم لوگوں پر گواہ بنو اور (ہمارا یہ برگزیدہ) رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تم پر گواہ ہو، اور آپ پہلے جس قبلہ پر تھے ہم نے صرف اس لئے مقرر کیا تھا کہ ہم (پرکھ کر) ظاہر کر دیں کہ کون (ہمارے) رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی پیروی کرتا ہے (اور) کون اپنے الٹے پاؤں پھر جاتا ہے، اور بیشک یہ (قبلہ کا بدلنا) بڑی بھاری بات تھی مگر ان پر نہیں جنہیں اﷲ نے ہدایت (و معرفت) سے نوازا، اور اﷲ کی یہ شان نہیں کہ تمہارا ایمان (یونہی) ضائع کردے، بیشک اﷲ لوگوں پر بڑی شفقت فرمانے والا مہربان ہے

And thus we have made you a just community that you will be witnesses over the people and the Messenger will be a witness over you. And We did not make the qiblah which you used to face except that We might make evident who would follow the Messenger from who would turn back on his heels. And indeed, it is difficult except for those whom Allah has guided. And never would Allah have caused you to lose your faith. Indeed Allah is, to the people, Kind and Merciful.

Kana annasu ommatan wahidatanfabaAAatha Allahu annabiyyeena mubashshireenawamunthireena waanzala maAAahumu alkitaba bilhaqqiliyahkuma bayna annasi feemaikhtalafoo feehi wama ikhtalafa feehi illa allatheenaootoohu min baAAdi ma jaat-humu albayyinatubaghyan baynahum fahada Allahu allatheena amanoolima ikhtalafoo feehi mina alhaqqi bi-ithnihiwallahu yahdee man yashao ila siratinmustaqeem

(ابتداء میں) سب لوگ ایک ہی دین پر جمع تھے، (پھر جب ان میں اختلافات رونما ہو گئے) تو اﷲ نے بشارت دینے والے اور ڈر سنانے والے پیغمبروں کو بھیجا، اور ان کے ساتھ حق پر مبنی کتاب اتاری تاکہ وہ لوگوں میں ان امور کا فیصلہ کر دے جن میں وہ اختلاف کرنے لگے تھے اور اس میں اختلاف بھی فقط انہی لوگوں نے کیا جنہیں وہ کتاب دی گئی تھی، باوجود اس کے کہ ان کے پاس واضح نشانیاں آچکی تھیں، (اور انہوں نے یہ اختلاف بھی) محض باہمی بغض و حسد کے باعث (کیا) پھر اﷲ نے ایمان والوں کو اپنے حکم سے وہ حق کی بات سمجھا دی جس میں وہ اختلاف کرتے تھے، اور اﷲ جسے چاہتا ہے سیدھے راستے کی طرف ہدایت فرما دیتا ہے

Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allah sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over the Scripture except those who were given it - after the clear proofs came to them - out of jealous animosity among themselves. And Allah guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path.

Kuntum khayra ommatin okhrijat linnasita/muroona bilmaAAroofi watanhawna AAani almunkariwatu/minoona billahi walaw amana ahlu alkitabilakana khayran lahum minhumu almu/minoona waaktharuhumualfasiqoon

تم بہترین اُمّت ہو جو سب لوگوں (کی رہنمائی) کے لئے ظاہر کی گئی ہے، تم بھلائی کا حکم دیتے ہو اور برائی سے منع کرتے ہو اور اللہ پر ایمان رکھتے ہو، اور اگر اہلِ کتاب بھی ایمان لے آتے تو یقیناً ان کے لئے بہتر ہوتا، ان میں سے کچھ ایمان والے بھی ہیں اور ان میں سے اکثر نافرمان ہیں

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

— Transliteration
Waanzalna ilayka alkitaba bilhaqqimusaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi mina alkitabiwamuhayminan AAalayhi fahkum baynahum bimaanzala Allahu wala tattabiAA ahwaahum AAammajaaka mina alhaqqi likullin jaAAalna minkumshirAAatan waminhajan walaw shaa AllahulajaAAalakum ommatan wahidatan walakin liyabluwakumfeema atakum fastabiqoo alkhayratiila Allahi marjiAAukum jameeAAan fayunabbi-okum bimakuntum feehi takhtalifoon

اور (اے نبئ مکرّم!) ہم نے آپ کی طرف (بھی) سچائی کے ساتھ کتاب نازل فرمائی ہے جو اپنے سے پہلے کی کتاب کی تصدیق کرنے والی ہے اور اس (کے اصل احکام و مضامین) پر نگہبان ہے، پس آپ ان کے درمیان ان (احکام) کے مطابق فیصلہ فرمائیں جو اﷲ نے نازل فرمائے ہیں اور آپ ان کی خواہشات کی پیروی نہ کریں، اس حق سے دور ہو کر جو آپ کے پاس آچکا ہے۔ ہم نے تم میں سے ہر ایک کے لئے الگ شریعت اور کشادہ راہِ عمل بنائی ہے، اور اگر اﷲ چاہتا تو تم سب کو (ایک شریعت پر متفق) ایک ہی امّت بنا دیتا لیکن وہ تمہیں ان (الگ الگ احکام) میں آزمانا چاہتا ہے جو اس نے تمہیں (تمہارے حسبِ حال) دیئے ہیں، سو تم نیکیوں میں جلدی کرو۔ اﷲ ہی کی طرف تم سب کو پلٹنا ہے، پھر وہ تمہیں ان (سب باتوں میں حق و باطل) سے آگاہ فرمادے گا جن میں تم اختلاف کرتے رہتے تھے

And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method. Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but [He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is] good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you concerning that over which you used to differ.

Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardiwala ta-irin yateeru bijanahayhi illaomamun amthalukum ma farratna feealkitabi min shay-in thumma ila rabbihim yuhsharoon

And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

Wala tasubboo allatheenayadAAoona min dooni Allahi fayasubboo AllahaAAadwan bighayri AAilmin kathalika zayyanna likulliommatin AAamalahum thumma ila rabbihim marjiAAuhumfayunabbi-ohum bima kanoo yaAAmaloon

اور (اے مسلمانو!) تم ان (جھوٹے معبودوں) کو گالی مت دو جنہیں یہ (مشرک لوگ) اللہ کے سوا پوجتے ہیں پھر وہ لوگ (بھی جواباً) جہالت کے باعث ظلم کرتے ہوئے اللہ کی شان میں دشنام طرازی کرنے لگیں گے۔ اسی طرح ہم نے ہر فرقہ (و جماعت) کے لئے ان کا عمل (ان کی آنکھوں میں) مرغوب کر رکھا ہے (اور وہ اسی کو حق سمجھتے رہتے ہیں)، پھر سب کو اپنے رب ہی کی طرف لوٹنا ہے اور وہ انہیں ان اعمال کے نتائج سے آگاہ فرما دے گا جو وہ انجام دیتے تھے

And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge. Thus We have made pleasing to every community their deeds. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them about what they used to do.

قَالَ ادۡخُلُوۡا فِىۡۤ اُمَمٍ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡجِنِّ وَالۡاِنۡسِ فِىۡ النَّارِؕ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتۡ اُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتۡ اُخۡتَهَاؕ حَتّٰۤى اِذَا ادَّارَكُوۡا فِيۡهَا جَمِيۡعًاۙ قَالَتۡ اُخۡرٰٮهُمۡ لِاُوۡلٰٮهُمۡ رَبَّنَا هٰٓؤُلاَۤءِ اَضَلُّوۡنَا فَاٰتِهِمۡ عَذَابًا ضِعۡفًا مِّنَ النَّارِؕ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعۡفٌ وَّلٰـكِنۡ لَّا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Qala odkhuloo fee omamin qad khalatmin qablikum mina aljinni wal-insi fee annarikullama dakhalat ommatun laAAanat okhtaha hattaitha iddarakoo feeha jameeAAan qalatokhrahum li-oolahum rabbana haola-iadalloona faatihim AAathaban diAAfanmina annari qala likullin diAAfunwalakin la taAAlamoon

اﷲ فرمائے گا: تم جنوں اور انسانوں کی ان (جہنّمی) جماعتوں میں شامل ہو کر جو تم سے پہلے گزر چکی ہیں دوزخ میں داخل ہو جاؤ۔ جب بھی کوئی جماعت (دوزخ میں) داخل ہوگی وہ اپنے جیسی دوسری جماعت پر لعنت بھیجے گی، یہاں تک کہ جب اس میں سارے (گروہ) جمع ہو جائیں گے تو ان کے پچھلے اپنے اگلوں کے حق میں کہیں گے کہ اے ہمارے ربّ! انہی لوگوں نے ہمیں گمراہ کیا تھا سو ان کو دوزخ کا دوگنا عذاب دے۔ ارشاد ہوگا: ہر ایک کے لئے دوگنا ہے مگر تم جانتے نہیں ہو

[Allah] will say, "Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire." Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them "Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, "For each is double, but you do not know."

And mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them [immediately] concerning that over which they differ.

وَنَزَعۡنَا مِنۡ كُلِّ اُمَّةٍ شَهِيۡدًا فَقُلۡنَا هَاتُوۡا بُرۡهَانَكُمۡ فَعَلِمُوۡۤا اَنَّ الۡحَـقَّ لِلّٰهِ وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
WanazaAAna min kulli ommatinshaheedan faqulna hatoo burhanakumfaAAalimoo anna alhaqqa lillahi wadallaAAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroon

اور ہم ہر امت سے ایک گواہ نکالیں گے پھر ہم (کفار سے) کہیں گے کہ تم اپنی دلیل لاؤ تو وہ جان لیں گے کہ سچ بات اللہ ہی کی ہے اور ان سے وہ سب (باتیں) جاتی رہیں گی جو وہ جھوٹ باندھا کرتے تھے

And We will extract from every nation a witness and say, "Produce your proof," and they will know that the truth belongs to Allah, and lost from them is that which they used to invent.

وَاِنۡ تُكَذِّبُوۡا فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ اُمَمٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡؕ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُوۡلِ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ
— Transliteration
Wa-in tukaththiboo faqad kaththabaomamun min qablikum wama AAala arrasooliilla albalaghu almubeen

اور اگر تم نے (میری باتوں کو) جھٹلایا تو یقیناً تم سے پہلے (بھی) کئی امتیں (حق کو) جھٹلا چکی ہیں، اور رسول پر واضح طریق سے (احکام) پہنچا دینے کے سوا (کچھ لازم) نہیں ہے

And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.

اِنَّاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنٰكَ بِالۡحَـقِّ بَشِيۡرًا وَّنَذِيۡرًاؕ وَاِنۡ مِّنۡ اُمَّةٍ اِلَّا خَلَا فِيۡهَا نَذِيۡرٌ
— Transliteration
Inna arsalnaka bilhaqqibasheeran wanatheeran wa-in min ommatin illa khalafeeha natheer

بیشک ہم نے آپ کو حق و ہدایت کے ساتھ، خوشخبری سنانے والا اور (آخرت کا) ڈر سنانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔ اور کوئی امّت (ایسی) نہیں مگر اُس میں کوئی (نہ کوئی) ڈر سنانے والا (ضرور) گزرا ہے

Indeed, We have sent you with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And there was no nation but that there had passed within it a warner.

وَاَقۡسَمُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ جَهۡدَ اَيۡمَانِهِمۡ لَٮِٕنۡ جَآءَهُمۡ نَذِيۡرٌ لَّيَكُوۡنُنَّ اَهۡدٰى مِنۡ اِحۡدَى الۡاُمَمِۚ فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡ نَذِيۡرٌ مَّا زَادَهُمۡ اِلَّا نُفُوۡرًاۙ
— Transliteration
Waaqsamoo billahi jahda aymanihimla-in jaahum natheerun layakoonunna ahda minihda al-omami falamma jaahum natheerunma zadahum illa nufoora

اور یہ لوگ اﷲ کے ساتھ بڑی پختہ قَسمیں کھایا کرتے تھے کہ اگر اُن کے پاس کوئی ڈر سنانے والا آجائے تو یہ ضرور ہر ایک امّت سے بڑھ کر راہِ راست پر ہوں گے، پھر جب اُن کے پاس ڈر سنانے والے (نبی آخر الزماں صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تشریف لے آئے تو اس سے اُن کی حق سے بیزاری میں اضافہ ہی ہوا

And they swore by Allah their strongest oaths that if a warner came to them, they would be more guided than [any] one of the [previous] nations. But when a warner came to them, it did not increase them except in aversion.

كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوۡحٍ وَّالۡاَحۡزَابُ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ وَهَمَّتۡ كُلُّ اُمَّةٍۢ بِرَسُوۡلِهِمۡ لِيَاۡخُذُوۡهُؕ وَجَادَلُوۡا بِالۡبَاطِلِ لِيُدۡحِضُوۡا بِهِ الۡحَقَّ فَاَخَذۡتُهُمۡ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ
— Transliteration
Kaththabat qablahum qawmu noohinwal-ahzabu min baAAdihim wahammat kulluommatin birasoolihim liya/khuthoohu wajadaloo bilbatililiyudhidoo bihi alhaqqa faakhathtuhumfakayfa kana AAiqab

اِن سے پہلے قومِ نوح نے اور اُن کے بعد (اور) بہت سی امتّوں نے (اپنے رسولوں کو) جھٹلایا اور ہر امّت نے اپنے رسول کے بارے میں ارادہ کیا کہ اسے پکڑ (کر قتل کر دیں یا قید کر) لیں اور بے بنیاد باتوں کے ذریعے جھگڑا کیا تاکہ اس (جھگڑے) کے ذریعے حق (کا اثر) زائل کر دیں سو میں نے انہیں (عذاب میں) پکڑ لیا، پس (میرا) عذاب کیسا تھا؟

The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty.

Waqayyadna lahum quranaafazayyanoo lahum ma bayna aydeehim wama khalfahumwahaqqa AAalayhimu alqawlu fee omamin qad khalat minqablihim mina aljinni wal-insi innahum kanoo khasireen

اور ہم نے اُن کے لئے ساتھ رہنے والے (شیاطین) مقرر کر دیئے، سو انہوں نے اُن کے لئے وہ (تمام برے اعمال) خوش نما کر دکھائے جو اُن کے آگے تھے اور اُن کے پیچھے تھے اور اُن پر (وہی) فرمانِ عذاب ثابت ہوگیا جو اُن امتوں کے بارے میں صادر ہوچکا تھا جو جنّات اور انسانوں میں سے اُن سے پہلے گزر چکی تھیں۔ بے شک وہ نقصان اٹھانے والے تھے

And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.

— Transliteration
Walaw shaa Allahu lajaAAalahumommatan wahidatan walakin yudkhilu man yashaofee rahmatihi waththalimoonama lahum min waliyyin wala naseer

اور اگر اللہ چاہتا تو اُن سب کو ایک ہی امّت بنا دیتا لیکن وہ جسے چاہتا ہے اپنی رحمت میں داخل فرماتا ہے، اور ظالموں کے لئے نہ کوئی دوست ہوگا اور نہ کوئی مددگار

And if Allah willed, He could have made them [of] one religion, but He admits whom He wills into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have not any protector or helper.

Walawla an yakoona annasuommatan wahidatan lajaAAalna liman yakfuru birrahmanilibuyootihim suqufan min fiddatin wamaAAarijaAAalayha yathharoon

And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful - for their houses - ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount

Watara kulla ommatin jathiyatankullu ommatin tudAAa ila kitabihaalyawma tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloon

اور آپ دیکھیں گے (کفّار و منکرین کا) ہر گروہ گھٹنوں کے بل گِرا ہوا بیٹھا ہو گا، ہر فرقے کو اس (کے اعمال) کی کتاب کی طرف بلایا جائے گا، آج تمہیں اُن اعمال کا بدلہ دیا جائے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے

And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], "Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.

Ola-ika allatheena haqqaAAalayhimu alqawlu fee umamin qad khalat min qablihim minaaljinni wal-insi innahum kanoo khasireen
