وَكَتَبۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ فِيۡهَاۤ اَنَّ النَّفۡسَ بِالنَّفۡسِۙ وَالۡعَيۡنَ بِالۡعَيۡنِ وَالۡاَنۡفَ بِالۡاَنۡفِ وَالۡاُذُنَ بِالۡاُذُنِ وَالسِّنَّ بِالسِّنِّۙ وَالۡجُرُوۡحَ قِصَاصٌ‌ؕ فَمَنۡ تَصَدَّقَ بِهٖ فَهُوَ كَفَّارَةٌ لَّهٗ‌ؕ وَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَحۡكُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰهُ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ‏ 
— Transliteration
Wakatabna AAalayhim feeha annaannafsa binnafsi walAAayna bilAAayniwal-anfa bil-anfi walothuna bilothuniwassinna bissinni waljurooha qisasunfaman tasaddaqa bihi fahuwa kaffaratun lahu wamanlam yahkum bima anzala Allahu faola-ikahumu aththalimoon

wakatabnā
And We ordained
اور لکھ دیا ہم نے
ʿalayhim
for them
ان پر
fīhā
in it
اس میں
anna
that -
بیشک
l-nafsa
the life
جان
bil-nafsi
for the life
بدلے جان کے
wal-ʿayna
and the eye
اور آنکھ
bil-ʿayni
for the eye
بدلے آنکھ کے
wal-anfa
and the nose
اور ناک
bil-anfi
for the nose
بدلے ناک کے
wal-udhuna
and the ear
اور کان
bil-udhuni
for the ear
بدلے کان کے
wal-sina
and the tooth
اور دانت
bil-sini
for the tooth
بدلے دانت کے
wal-jurūḥa
and (for) wounds
اور تمام زخموں کا بھی
qiṣāṣun
(is) retribution
بدلہ ہے
faman
But whoever
تو جو کوئی
taṣaddaqa
gives charity
صدقہ کرے۔ معاف کردے
bihi
**gives it (as) charity,
ساتھ اس کے
fahuwa
then it is
تو وہ
kaffāratun
an expiation
کفارہ ہوگا
lahu
for him.
اس کے لیے
waman
And whoever
اور جو کوئی
lam
(does) not
نہ
yaḥkum
judge
فیصلہ کرے
bimā
by what
ساتھ اس کے جو
anzala
has revealed
نازل کیا
l-lahu
Allah
اللہ نے
fa-ulāika
then those
تو یہی لوگ ہیں
humu
[they]
وہ
l-ẓālimūna
(are) the wrongdoers
جو ظالم ہیں
Urdu —
اور ہم نے اس (تورات) میں ان پر فرض کردیا تھا کہ جان کے بدلے جان اور آنکھ کے عوض آنکھ اور ناک کے بدلے ناک اور کان کے عوض کان اور دانت کے بدلے دانت اور زخموں میں (بھی) بدلہ ہے، تو جو شخص اس (قصاص) کو صدقہ (یعنی معاف) کر دے تو یہ اس (کے گناہوں) کے لئے کفارہ ہوگا، اور جو شخص اللہ کے نازل کردہ حکم کے مطابق فیصلہ (و حکومت) نہ کرے سو وہی لوگ ظالم ہیں
— English
And We ordained for them therein a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a nose for a nose, an ear for an ear, a tooth for a tooth, and for wounds is legal retribution. But whoever gives [up his right as] charity, it is an expiation for him. And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

وَلَا تُصَعِّرۡ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ مَرَحًا  ‌ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٍ فَخُوۡرٍۚ‏ 
— Transliteration
Wala tusaAAAAir khaddaka linnasiwala tamshi fee al-ardi marahan inna Allahala yuhibbu kulla mukhtalin fakhoor

your cheek

لوگوں کے لیے

l-arḍi
the earth
زمین
maraḥan
exultantly
اکڑ کر۔ اتراتے ہوئے
inna
Indeed,
بیشک
l-laha
Allah
اللہ تعالیٰ
lā
(does) not
نہیں
yuḥibbu
like
پسند کرتا
kulla
every
ہر
mukh'tālin
self-conceited
خود پسند
fakhūrin
boaster
فخر جتانے والے کو
Urdu —
اور لوگوں سے (غرور کے ساتھ) اپنا رخ نہ پھیر، اور زمین پر اکڑ کر مت چل، بیشک اﷲ ہر متکبّر، اِترا کر چلنے والے کو ناپسند فرماتا ہے
— English
And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.
