وَاِذۡ اَخَذۡنَا مِيۡثَاقَ بَنِىۡٓ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ لَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ اِلَّا اللّٰهَ وَبِالۡوَالِدَيۡنِ اِحۡسَانًا وَّذِىۡ الۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَالۡيَتٰمٰى وَالۡمَسٰکِيۡنِ وَقُوۡلُوۡا لِلنَّاسِ حُسۡنًا وَّاَقِيۡمُوۡا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوۡا الزَّکٰوةَ ؕ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا مِّنۡکُمۡ وَاَنۡتُمۡ مُّعۡرِضُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Wa-ith akhathna meethaqabanee isra-eela la taAAbudoona illa Allahawabilwalidayni ihsanan watheealqurba walyatama walmasakeeniwaqooloo linnasi husnan waaqeemoo assalatawaatoo azzakata thumma tawallaytum illaqaleelan minkum waantum muAAridoon

اور (یاد کرو) جب ہم نے اولادِ یعقوب سے پختہ وعدہ لیا کہ اللہ کے سوا (کسی اور کی) عبادت نہ کرنا، اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرنا اور قرابت داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں کے ساتھ بھی (بھلائی کرنا) اور عام لوگوں سے (بھی نرمی اور خوش خُلقی کے ساتھ) نیکی کی بات کہنا اور نماز قائم رکھنا اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہنا، پھر تم میں سے چند لوگوں کے سوا سارے (اس عہد سے) رُوگرداں ہو گئے اور تم (حق سے) گریز ہی کرنے والے ہو

And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the needy. And speak to people good [words] and establish prayer and give zakah." Then you turned away, except a few of you, and you were refusing.

Laysa albirra an tuwalloo wujoohakum qibalaalmashriqi walmaghribi walakinna albirra man amanabillahi walyawmi al-akhiri walmala-ikatiwalkitabi wannabiyyeena waataalmala AAala hubbihi thawee alqurbawalyatama walmasakeena wabnaalssabeeli wassa-ileena wafee arriqabiwaaqama assalata waataazzakata walmoofoona biAAahdihim ithaAAahadoo wassabireena fee alba/sa-iwaddarra-i waheena alba/si ola-ikaallatheena sadaqoo waola-ika humualmuttaqoon

نیکی صرف یہی نہیں کہ تم اپنے منہ مشرق اور مغرب کی طرف پھیر لو بلکہ اصل نیکی تو یہ ہے کہ کوئی شخص اﷲ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر اور فرشتوں پر اور (اﷲ کی) کتاب پر اور پیغمبروں پر ایمان لائے، اور اﷲ کی محبت میں (اپنا) مال قرابت داروں پر اور یتیموں پر اور محتاجوں پر اور مسافروں پر اور مانگنے والوں پر اور (غلاموں کی) گردنوں (کو آزاد کرانے) میں خرچ کرے، اور نماز قائم کرے اور زکوٰۃ دے اور جب کوئی وعدہ کریں تو اپنا وعدہ پورا کرنے والے ہوں، اور سختی (تنگدستی) میں اور مصیبت (بیماری) میں اور جنگ کی شدّت (جہاد) کے وقت صبر کرنے والے ہوں، یہی لوگ سچے ہیں اور یہی پرہیزگار ہیں

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

Ayyaman maAAdoodatin faman kanaminkum mareedan aw AAala safarin faAAiddatun minayyamin okhara waAAala allatheena yuteeqoonahufidyatun taAAamu miskeenin faman tatawwaAAakhayran fahuwa khayrun lahu waan tasoomoo khayrun lakum inkuntum taAAlamoon

(یہ) گنتی کے چند دن (ہیں)، پس اگر تم میں سے کوئی بیمار ہو یا سفر پر ہو تو دوسرے دنوں (کے روزوں) سے گنتی پوری کر لے، اور جنہیں اس کی طاقت نہ ہو ان کے ذمے ایک مسکین کے کھانے کا بدلہ ہے، پھر جو کوئی اپنی خوشی سے (زیادہ) نیکی کرے تو وہ اس کے لئے بہتر ہے، اور تمہارا روزہ رکھ لینا تمہارے لئے بہتر ہے اگر تمہیں سمجھ ہو

[Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

Am hasibtum an tadkhuloo aljannatawalamma ya/tikum mathalu allatheena khalaw minqablikum massat-humu alba/sao waddarraowazulziloo hatta yaqoola arrasoolu wallatheenaamanoo maAAahu mata nasru Allahi alainna nasra Allahi qareeb

کیا تم یہ گمان کرتے ہو کہ تم (یونہی بلا آزمائش) جنت میں داخل ہو جاؤ گے حالانکہ تم پر تو ابھی ان لوگوں جیسی حالت (ہی) نہیں بیتی جو تم سے پہلے گزر چکے، انہیں توطرح طرح کی سختیاں اور تکلیفیں پہنچیں اور انہیں (اس طرح) ہلا ڈالا گیا کہ (خود) پیغمبر اور ان کے ایمان والے ساتھی (بھی) پکار اٹھے کہ اﷲ کی مدد کب آئے گی؟ آگاہ ہو جاؤ کہ بیشک اﷲ کی مدد قریب ہے

Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, "When is the help of Allah?" Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.

They ask you, [O Muhammad], what they should spend. Say, "Whatever you spend of good is [to be] for parents and relatives and orphans and the needy and the traveler. And whatever you do of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it."

Lilfuqara-i allatheena ohsiroofee sabeeli Allahi la yastateeAAoona darbanfee al-ardi yahsabuhumu aljahilu aghniyaamina attaAAaffufi taAArifuhum biseemahum layas-aloona annasa ilhafan wamatunfiqoo min khayrin fa-inna Allaha bihi AAaleem

(خیرات) ان فقراءکا حق ہے جو اﷲ کی راہ میں (کسبِ معاش سے) روک دیئے گئے ہیں وہ (امورِ دین میں ہمہ وقت مشغول رہنے کے باعث) زمین میں چل پھر بھی نہیں سکتے ان کے (زُھداً) طمع سے باز رہنے کے باعث نادان (جو ان کے حال سے بے خبر ہے) انہیں مالدار سمجھے ہوئے ہے، تم انہیں ان کی صورت سے پہچان لو گے، وہ لوگوں سے بالکل سوال ہی نہیں کرتے کہ کہیں (مخلوق کے سامنے) گڑگڑانا نہ پڑے، اور تم جو مال بھی خرچ کرو تو بیشک اﷲ اسے خوب جانتا ہے

[Charity is] for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah, unable to move about in the land. An ignorant [person] would think them self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their [characteristic] sign. They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. And whatever you spend of good - indeed, Allah is Knowing of it.

Allah has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed, Allah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.

وَابۡتَلُوۡا الۡيَتٰمٰى حَتّٰىۤ اِذَا بَلَغُوۡا النِّكَاحَۚ فَاِنۡ اٰنَسۡتُمۡ مِّنۡهُمۡ رُشۡدًا فَادۡفَعُوۡۤا اِلَيۡهِمۡ اَمۡوَالَهُمۡۚ وَلَا تَاۡكُلُوۡهَاۤ اِسۡرَافًا وَّبِدَارًا اَنۡ يَّكۡبَرُوۡاؕ وَمَنۡ كَانَ غَنِيًّا فَلۡيَسۡتَعۡفِفۡۚ وَمَنۡ كَانَ فَقِيۡرًا فَلۡيَاۡكُلۡ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِؕ فَاِذَا دَفَعۡتُمۡ اِلَيۡهِمۡ اَمۡوَالَهُمۡ فَاَشۡهِدُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡؕ وَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ حَسِيۡبًا
— Transliteration
Wabtaloo alyatama hattaitha balaghoo annikaha fa-in anastumminhum rushdan fadfaAAoo ilayhim amwalahum walata/kulooha israfan wabidaran an yakbaroowaman kana ghaniyyan falyastaAAfif waman kanafaqeeran falya/kul bilmaAAroofi fa-itha dafaAAtumilayhim amwalahum faashhidoo AAalayhim wakafa billahihaseeba

اور یتیموں کی (تربیتہً) جانچ اور آزمائش کرتے رہو یہاں تک کہ نکاح (کی عمر) کو پہنچ جائیں پھر اگر تم ان میں ہوشیاری (اور حُسنِ تدبیر) دیکھ لو تو ان کے مال ان کے حوالے کر دو، اور ان کے مال فضول خرچی اور جلد بازی میں (اس اندیشے سے) نہ کھا ڈالو کہ وہ بڑے ہو (کر واپس لے) جائیں گے، اور جو کوئی خوشحال ہو وہ (مالِ یتیم سے) بالکل بچا رہے اور جو (خود) نادار ہو اسے (صرف) مناسب حد تک کھانا چاہئے، اور جب تم ان کے مال ان کے سپرد کرنے لگو تو ان پر گواہ بنا لیا کرو، اور حساب لینے والا اللہ ہی کافی ہے

And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, [anticipating] that they will grow up. And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a fee]; and whoever is poor - let him take according to what is acceptable. Then when you release their property to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allah as Accountant.

And when [other] relatives and orphans and the needy are present at the [time of] division, then provide for them [something] out of the estate and speak to them words of appropriate kindness.

— Transliteration
WaAAbudoo Allaha walatushrikoo bihi shay-an wabilwalidayni ihsananwabithee alqurba walyatama walmasakeeniwaljari thee alqurba waljarialjunubi wassahibi biljanbi wabniassabeeli wama malakat aymanukum inna Allahala yuhibbu man kana mukhtalan fakhoora

اور تم اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہراؤ اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ بھلائی کرو اور رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں (سے) اور نزدیکی ہمسائے اور اجنبی پڑوسی اور ہم مجلس اور مسافر (سے)، اور جن کے تم مالک ہو چکے ہو، (ان سے نیکی کیا کرو)، بیشک اللہ اس شخص کو پسند نہیں کرتا جو تکبرّ کرنے والا (مغرور) فخر کرنے والا (خود بین) ہو
— English
Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا كُوۡنُوۡا قَوَّامِيۡنَ بِالۡقِسۡطِ شُهَدَآءَ لِلّٰهِ وَلَوۡ عَلٰٓى اَنۡفُسِكُمۡ اَوِ الۡوَالِدَيۡنِ وَالۡاَقۡرَبِيۡنَؕ اِنۡ يَّكُنۡ غَنِيًّا اَوۡ فَقِيۡرًا فَاللّٰهُ اَوۡلٰى بِهِمَا فَلَا تَتَّبِعُوۡا الۡهَوٰٓى اَنۡ تَعۡدِلُوۡاۚ وَاِنۡ تَلۡوٗۤا اَوۡ تُعۡرِضُوۡا فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ خَبِيۡرًا
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanookoonoo qawwameena bilqisti shuhadaalillahi walaw AAala anfusikum awi alwalidayniwal-aqrabeena in yakun ghaniyyan aw faqeeran fallahuawla bihima fala tattabiAAoo alhawaan taAAdiloo wa-in talwoo aw tuAAridoo fa-inna Allahakana bima taAAmaloona khabeera

اے ایمان والو! تم انصاف پر مضبوطی کے ساتھ قائم رہنے والے (محض) اللہ کے لئے گواہی دینے والے ہو جاؤ خواہ (گواہی) خود تمہارے اپنے یا (تمہارے) والدین یا (تمہارے) رشتہ داروں کے ہی خلاف ہو، اگرچہ (جس کے خلاف گواہی ہو) مال دار ہے یا محتاج، اللہ ان دونوں کا (تم سے) زیادہ خیر خواہ ہے۔ سو تم خواہشِ نفس کی پیروی نہ کیا کرو کہ عدل سے ہٹ جاؤ (گے)، اور اگر تم (گواہی میں) پیچ دار بات کرو گے یا (حق سے) پہلو تہی کرو گے تو بیشک اللہ ان سب کاموں سے جو تم کر رہے ہو خبردار ہےo
— English
O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives. Whether one is rich or poor, Allah is more worthy of both. So follow not [personal] inclination, lest you not be just. And if you distort [your testimony] or refuse [to give it], then indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted.

لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اللّٰهُ بِاللَّغۡوِ فِىۡۤ اَيۡمَانِكُمۡ وَلٰـكِنۡ يُّؤَاخِذُكُمۡ بِمَا عَقَّدْتُّمُ الۡاَيۡمَانَۚ فَكَفَّارَتُهٗۤ اِطۡعَامُ عَشَرَةِ مَسٰكِيۡنَ مِنۡ اَوۡسَطِ مَا تُطۡعِمُوۡنَ اَهۡلِيۡكُمۡ اَوۡ كِسۡوَتُهُمۡ اَوۡ تَحۡرِيۡرُ رَقَبَةٍ ؕ فَمَنۡ لَّمۡ يَجِدۡ فَصِيَامُ ثَلٰثَةِ اَيَّامٍؕ ذٰلِكَ كَفَّارَةُ اَيۡمَانِكُمۡ اِذَا حَلَفۡتُمۡؕ وَاحۡفَظُوۡۤا اَيۡمَانَكُمۡؕ كَذٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّٰهُ لَـكُمۡ اٰيٰتِهٖ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
La yu-akhithukumu Allahubillaghwi fee aymanikum walakin yu-akhithukumbima AAaqqadtumu al-aymana fakaffaratuhu itAAamuAAasharati masakeena min awsati ma tutAAimoonaahleekum aw kiswatuhum aw tahreeru raqabatin faman lamyajid fasiyamu thalathati ayyamin thalikakaffaratu aymanikum itha halaftum wahfathooaymanakum kathalika yubayyinu Allahu lakum ayatihilaAAallakum tashkuroon

اللہ تمہاری بے مقصد (اور غیر سنجیدہ) قَسموں میں تمہاری گرفت نہیں فرماتا لیکن تمہاری ان (سنجیدہ) قَسموں پر گرفت فرماتا ہے جنہیں تم (ارادی طور پر) مضبوط کرلو، (اگر تم ایسی قَسم کو توڑ ڈالو) تو اس کا کفّارہ دس مسکینوں کو اوسط (درجہ کا) کھانا کھلانا ہے جو تم اپنے گھر والوں کو کھلاتے ہو یا (اسی طرح) ان (مسکینوں) کو کپڑے دینا ہے یا ایک گردن (یعنی غلام یا باندی کو) آزاد کرنا ہے، پھر جسے (یہ سب کچھ) میسر نہ ہو تو تین دن روزہ رکھنا ہے۔ یہ تمہاری قَسموں کا کفّارہ ہے جب تم کھالو (اور پھر توڑ بیٹھو)، اور اپنی قَسموں کی حفاظت کیا کرو، اسی طرح اللہ تمہارے لئے اپنی آیتیں خوب واضح فرماتا ہے تاکہ تم (اس کے احکام کی اطاعت کر کے) شکر گزار بن جاؤ

Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is meaningless in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for [breaking] what you intended of oaths. So its expiation is the feeding of ten needy people from the average of that which you feed your [own] families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [or afford it] - then a fast of three days [is required]. That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be grateful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَقۡتُلُوۡا الصَّيۡدَ وَاَنۡـتُمۡ حُرُمٌؕ وَمَنۡ قَتَلَهٗ مِنۡكُمۡ مُّتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَآءٌ مِّثۡلُ مَا قَتَلَ مِنَ النَّعَمِ يَحۡكُمُ بِهٖ ذَوَا عَدۡلٍ مِّنۡكُمۡ هَدۡيًۢا بٰلِغَ الۡـكَعۡبَةِ اَوۡ كَفَّارَةٌ طَعَامُ مَسٰكِيۡنَ اَوۡ عَدۡلُ ذٰلِكَ صِيَامًا لِّيَذُوۡقَ وَبَالَ اَمۡرِهٖؕ عَفَا اللّٰهُ عَمَّا سَلَفَؕ وَمَنۡ عَادَ فَيَنۡتَقِمُ اللّٰهُ مِنۡهُؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَزِيۡزٌ ذُوۡ انتِقَامٍ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola taqtuloo assayda waantum hurumunwaman qatalahu minkum mutaAAammidan fajazaon mithlu maqatala mina annaAAami yahkumu bihi thawaAAadlin minkum hadyan baligha alkaAAbati aw kaffaratuntaAAamu masakeena aw AAadlu thalika siyamanliyathooqa wabala amrihi AAafa AllahuAAamma salafa waman AAada fayantaqimu Allahuminhu wallahu AAazeezun thoo intiqam

اے ایمان والو! تم احرام کی حالت میں شکار کو مت مارا کرو، اور تم میں سے جس نے (بحالتِ احرام) قصداً اسے مار ڈالا تو (اس کا) بدلہ مویشیوں میں سے اسی کے برابر (کوئی جانور) ہے جسے اس نے قتل کیا ہے جس کی نسبت تم میں سے دو عادل شخص فیصلہ کریں (کہ واقعی یہ جانور اس شکار کے برابر ہے بشرطیکہ) وہ قربانی کعبہ پہنچنے والی ہو یا (اس کا) کفّارہ چند محتاجوں کا کھانا ہے (یعنی جانور کی قیمت کے برابر معمول کا کھانا جتنے بھی محتاجوں کو پورا آجائے) یا اس کے برابر (یعنی جتنے محتاجوں کا کھانا بنے اس قدر) روزے ہیں تاکہ وہ اپنے کیے (کے بوجھ) کا مزہ چکھے۔ جو کچھ (اس سے) پہلے ہو گزرا اللہ نے اسے معاف فرما دیا، اور جو کوئی (ایسا کام) دوبارہ کرے گا تو اللہ اس سے (نافرمانی) کا بدلہ لے لے گا، اور اللہ بڑا غالب بدلہ لینے والا ہے

O you who have believed, do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram. And whoever of you kills it intentionally - the penalty is an equivalent from sacrificial animals to what he killed, as judged by two just men among you as an offering [to Allah] delivered to the Ka'bah, or an expiation: the feeding of needy people or the equivalent of that in fasting, that he may taste the consequence of his deed. Allah has pardoned what is past; but whoever returns [to violation], then Allah will take retribution from him. And Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.

— Transliteration
Qul taAAalaw atlu ma harramarabbukum AAalaykum alla tushrikoo bihi shay-an wabilwalidayniihsanan wala taqtuloo awladakum minimlaqin nahnu narzuqukum wa-iyyahum walataqraboo alfawahisha ma thahara minhawama batana wala taqtuloo annafsaallatee harrama Allahu illa bilhaqqithalikum wassakum bihi laAAallakum taAAqiloon

فرما دیجئے: آؤ میں وہ چیزیں پڑھ کر سنا دوں جو تمہارے رب نے تم پر حرام کی ہیں (وہ) یہ کہ تم اس کے ساتھ کسی چیز کو شریک نہ ٹھہراؤ اور ماں باپ کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرو، اور مفلسی کے باعث اپنی اولاد کو قتل مت کرو۔ ہم ہی تمہیں رزق دیتے ہیں اور انہیں بھی (دیں گے)، اور بے حیائی کے کاموں کے قریب نہ جاؤ (خواہ) وہ ظاہر ہوں اور (خواہ) وہ پوشیدہ ہوں، اور اس جان کو قتل نہ کرو جسے (قتل کرنا) اﷲ نے حرام کیا ہے بجز حقِ (شرعی) کے، یہی وہ (امور) ہیں جن کا اس نے تمہیں تاکیدی حکم دیا ہے تاکہ تم عقل سے کام لو

Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason."

وَاعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّمَا غَنِمۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ شَىۡءٍ فَاَنَّ لِلّٰهِ خُمُسَهٗ وَلِلرَّسُوۡلِ وَلِذِىۡ الۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَالۡيَتٰمٰى وَالۡمَسٰكِيۡنِ وَابۡنِ السَّبِيۡلِۙ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ اٰمَنۡتُمۡ بِاللّٰهِ وَمَاۤ اَنۡزَلۡنَا عَلٰى عَبۡدِنَا يَوۡمَ الۡفُرۡقَانِ يَوۡمَ الۡتَقَى الۡجَمۡعٰنِؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌ
— Transliteration
WaAAlamoo annama ghanimtummin shay-in faanna lillahi khumusahu walirrasooliwalithee alqurba walyatama walmasakeeniwabni assabeeli in kuntum amantum billahiwama anzalna AAala AAabdina yawmaalfurqani yawma iltaqa aljamAAani wallahuAAala kulli shay-in qadeer

اور جان لو کہ جو کچھ مالِ غنیمت تم نے پایا ہو تو اس کا پانچواں حصہ اللہ کے لئے اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لئے اور (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے) قرابت داروں کے لئے (ہے) اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور مسافروں کے لئے ہے۔ اگر تم اللہ پر اور اس (وحی) پر ایمان لائے ہو جو ہم نے اپنے (برگزیدہ) بندے پر (حق و باطل کے درمیان) فیصلے کے دن نازل فرمائی وہ دن (جب میدانِ بدر میں مومنوں اور کافروں کے) دونوں لشکر باہم مقابل ہوئے تھے، اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے

And know that anything you obtain of war booty - then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and the orphans, the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah and in that which We sent down to Our Servant on the day of criterion - the day when the two armies met. And Allah, over all things, is competent.

— Transliteration
Innama assadaqatulilfuqara-i walmasakeeni walAAamileenaAAalayha walmu-allafati quloobuhum wafee arriqabiwalgharimeena wafee sabeeli Allahi wabniassabeeli fareedatan mina Allahi wallahuAAaleemun hakeemun

بیشک صدقات (زکوٰۃ) محض غریبوں اور محتاجوں اور ان کی وصولی پر مقرر کئے گئے کارکنوں اور ایسے لوگوں کے لئے ہیں جن کے دلوں میں اسلام کی الفت پیدا کرنا مقصود ہو اور (مزید یہ کہ) انسانی گردنوں کو (غلامی کی زندگی سے) آزاد کرانے میں اور قرض داروں کے بوجھ اتارنے میں اور اللہ کی راہ میں اور مسافروں پر (زکوٰۃ کا خرچ کیا جانا حق ہے)۔ یہ (سب) اللہ کی طرف سے فرض کیا گیا ہے، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے

Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin.

As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force.

تاکہ وہ اپنے فوائد (بھی) پائیں اور (قربانی کے) مقررہ دنوں کے اندر اﷲ نے جو مویشی چوپائے ان کو بخشے ہیں ان پر (ذبح کے وقت) اﷲ کے نام کا ذکر بھی کریں، پس تم اس میں سے خود (بھی) کھاؤ اور خستہ حال محتاج کو (بھی) کھلاؤ

That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.

Walbudna jaAAalnahalakum min shaAAa-iri Allahi lakum feehakhayrun fathkuroo isma Allahi AAalayhasawaffa fa-itha wajabat junoobuhafakuloo minha waatAAimoo alqaniAAa walmuAAtarrakathalika sakhkharnaha lakum laAAallakumtashkuroon

اور قربانی کے بڑے جانوروں (یعنی اونٹ اور گائے وغیرہ) کو ہم نے تمہارے لئے اﷲ کی نشانیوں میں سے بنا دیا ہے ان میں تمہارے لئے بھلائی ہے پس تم (انہیں) قطار میں کھڑا کر کے (نیزہ مار کر نحر کے وقت) ان پر اﷲ کا نام لو، پھر جب وہ اپنے پہلو کے بل گر جائیں تو تم خود (بھی) اس میں سے کھاؤ اور قناعت سے بیٹھے رہنے والوں کو اور سوال کرنے والے (محتاجوں) کو (بھی) کھلاؤ۔ اس طرح ہم نے انہیں تمہارے تابع کر دیا ہے تاکہ تم شکر بجا لاؤ

And the camels and cattle We have appointed for you as among the symbols of Allah; for you therein is good. So mention the name of Allah upon them when lined up [for sacrifice]; and when they are [lifeless] on their sides, then eat from them and feed the needy and the beggar. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may be grateful.

Wala ya/tali oloo alfadliminkum wassaAAati an yu/too olee alqurba walmasakeenawalmuhajireena fee sabeeli AllahiwalyaAAfoo walyasfahoo ala tuhibboonaan yaghfira Allahu lakum wallahu ghafoorunraheem

اور تم میں سے (دینی) بزرگی والے اور (دنیوی) کشائش والے (اب) اس بات کی قَسم نہ کھائیں کہ وہ (اس بہتان کے جرم میں شریک) رشتہ داروں اور محتاجوں اور اللہ کی راہ میں ہجرت کرنے والوں کو (مالی امداد نہ) دیں گے انہیں چاہئے کہ (ان کا قصور) معاف کر دیں اور (ان کی غلطی سے) درگزر کریں، کیا تم اس بات کو پسند نہیں کرتے کہ اللہ تمہیں بخش دے، اور اللہ بڑا بخشنے والا مہربان ہے

And let not those of virtue among you and wealth swear not to give [aid] to their relatives and the needy and the emigrants for the cause of Allah, and let them pardon and overlook. Would you not like that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

And marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male slaves and female slaves. If they should be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty, and Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

Ha antum haola-itudAAawna litunfiqoo fee sabeeli Allahi faminkum manyabkhalu waman yabkhal fa-innama yabkhalu AAan nafsihi wallahualghaniyyu waantumu alfuqarao wa-in tatawallaw yastabdilqawman ghayrakum thumma la yakoonoo amthalakum

یاد رکھو! تم وہ لوگ ہو جنہیں اﷲ کی راہ میں خرچ کرنے کے لئے بلایا جاتا ہے تو تم میں سے بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جو بُخل کرتے ہیں، اور جو کوئی بھی بُخل کرتا ہے وہ محض اپنی جان ہی سے بخل کرتا ہے، اور اﷲ بے نیاز ہے اور تم (سب) محتاج ہو، اور اگر تم (حکمِ الٰہی سے) رُوگردانی کرو گے تو وہ تمہاری جگہ بدل کر دوسری قوم کو لے آئے گا پھر وہ تمہارے جیسے نہ ہوں گےo

Here you are - those invited to spend in the cause of Allah - but among you are those who withhold [out of greed]. And whoever withholds only withholds [benefit] from himself; and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy. And if you turn away, He will replace you with another people; then they will not be the likes of you.

Faman lam yajid fasiyamushahrayni mutatabiAAayni min qabli an yatamassafaman lam yastatiAA fa-itAAamu sitteenamiskeenan thalika litu/minoo billahiwarasoolihi watilka hudoodu Allahi walilkafireenaAAathabun aleem

پھر جسے (غلام یا باندی) میسّر نہ ہو تو دو ماہ متواتر روزے رکھنا (لازم ہے) قبل اِس کے کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو مَس کریں، پھر جو شخص اِس کی (بھی) طاقت نہ رکھے تو ساٹھ مسکینوں کو کھانا کھلانا (لازم ہے)، یہ اِس لئے کہ تم اللہ اور اُس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر ایمان رکھو۔ اور یہ اللہ کی (مقرر کردہ) حدود ہیں، اور کافروں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہےo

And he who does not find [a slave] - then a fast for two months consecutively before they touch one another; and he who is unable - then the feeding of sixty poor persons. That is for you to believe [completely] in Allah and His Messenger; and those are the limits [set by] Allah. And for the disbelievers is a painful punishment.

Ma afaa Allahu AAalarasoolihi min ahli alqura falillahi walirrasooliwalithee alqurba walyatama walmasakeeniwabni assabeeli kay la yakoona doolatanbayna al-aghniya-i minkum wama atakumuarrasoolu fakhuthoohu wama nahakumAAanhu fantahoo wattaqoo Allaha inna Allahashadeedu alAAiqab

جو (اَموالِ فَے) اللہ نے (قُرَیظہ، نَضِیر، فِدَک، خَیبر، عُرَینہ سمیت دیگر بغیر جنگ کے مفتوحہ) بستیوں والوں سے (نکال کر) اپنے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر لوٹائے ہیں وہ اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے لئے ہیں اور (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے) قرابت داروں (یعنی بنو ہاشم اور بنو المطّلب) کے لئے اور (معاشرے کے عام) یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور مسافروں کے لئے ہیں، (یہ نظامِ تقسیم اس لئے ہے) تاکہ (سارا مال صرف) تمہارے مال داروں کے درمیان ہی نہ گردش کرتا رہے (بلکہ معاشرے کے تمام طبقات میں گردش کرے)۔ اور جو کچھ رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تمہیں عطا فرمائیں سو اُسے لے لیا کرو اور جس سے تمہیں منع فرمائیں سو (اُس سے) رُک جایا کرو، اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو (یعنی رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی تقسیم و عطا پر کبھی زبانِ طعن نہ کھولو)، بیشک اللہ سخت عذاب دینے والا ہےo

And what Allah restored to His Messenger from the people of the towns - it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and orphans and the [stranded] traveler - so that it will not be a perpetual distribution among the rich from among you. And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.

Lilfuqara-i almuhajireena allatheenaokhrijoo min diyarihim waamwalihim yabtaghoona fadlanmina Allahi waridwanan wayansuroonaAllaha warasoolahu ola-ika humu assadiqoon

For the poor emigrants who were expelled from their homes and their properties, seeking bounty from Allah and [His] approval and supporting Allah and His Messenger, [there is also a share]. Those are the truthful.
