Laysa albirra an tuwalloo wujoohakum qibalaalmashriqi walmaghribi walakinna albirra man amanabillahi walyawmi al-akhiri walmala-ikatiwalkitabi wannabiyyeena waataalmala AAala hubbihi thawee alqurbawalyatama walmasakeena wabnaalssabeeli wassa-ileena wafee arriqabiwaaqama assalata waataazzakata walmoofoona biAAahdihim ithaAAahadoo wassabireena fee alba/sa-iwaddarra-i waheena alba/si ola-ikaallatheena sadaqoo waola-ika humualmuttaqoon

نیکی صرف یہی نہیں کہ تم اپنے منہ مشرق اور مغرب کی طرف پھیر لو بلکہ اصل نیکی تو یہ ہے کہ کوئی شخص اﷲ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر اور فرشتوں پر اور (اﷲ کی) کتاب پر اور پیغمبروں پر ایمان لائے، اور اﷲ کی محبت میں (اپنا) مال قرابت داروں پر اور یتیموں پر اور محتاجوں پر اور مسافروں پر اور مانگنے والوں پر اور (غلاموں کی) گردنوں (کو آزاد کرانے) میں خرچ کرے، اور نماز قائم کرے اور زکوٰۃ دے اور جب کوئی وعدہ کریں تو اپنا وعدہ پورا کرنے والے ہوں، اور سختی (تنگدستی) میں اور مصیبت (بیماری) میں اور جنگ کی شدّت (جہاد) کے وقت صبر کرنے والے ہوں، یہی لوگ سچے ہیں اور یہی پرہیزگار ہیں

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

Wala junaha AAalaykum feemaAAarradtum bihi min khitbati annisa-iaw aknantum fee anfusikum AAalima Allahu annakum satathkuroonahunnawalakin la tuwaAAidoohunna sirran illaan taqooloo qawlan maAAroofan wala taAAzimoo AAuqdata annikahihatta yablugha alkitabu ajalahu waAAlamooanna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee anfusikum fahtharoohuwaAAlamoo anna Allaha ghafoorun haleem

بردبار ہے

Urdu —

اور تم پر اس بات میں کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ (دورانِ عدت بھی) ان عورتوں کو اشارۃً نکاح کا پیغام دے دو یا (یہ خیال) اپنے دلوں میں چھپا رکھو، اﷲ جانتا ہے کہ تم عنقریب ان سے ذکر کرو گے مگر ان سے خفیہ طور پر بھی (ایسا) وعدہ نہ لو سوائے اس کے کہ تم فقط شریعت کی (رُو سے کنایۃً) معروف بات کہہ دو، اور (اس دوران) عقدِ نکاح کا پختہ عزم نہ کرو یہاں تک کہ مقررہ عدت اپنی انتہا کو پہنچ جائے، اور جان لو کہ اﷲ تمہارے دلوں کی بات کو بھی جانتا ہے تو اس سے ڈرتے رہا کرو، اور (یہ بھی) جان لو کہ اﷲ بڑا بخشنے والا بڑا حلم والا ہے

There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. Allah knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end. And know that Allah knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise."

— Transliteration

Walaqad sadaqakumu AllahuwaAAdahu ith tahussoonahum bi-ithnihi hattaitha fashiltum watanazaAAtum fee al-amri waAAasaytummin baAAdi ma arakum ma tuhibboonaminkum man yureedu addunya waminkum man yureedual-akhirata thumma sarafakum AAanhum liyabtaliyakumwalaqad AAafa AAankum wallahu thoofadlin AAala almu/mineen

اور بیشک اللہ نے تمہیں اپنا وعدہ سچ کر دکھایا جب تم اس کے حکم سے انہیں قتل کر رہے تھے، یہاں تک کہ تم نے بزدلی کی اور (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے) حکم کے بارے میں جھگڑنے لگے اور تم نے اس کے بعد (ان کی) نافرمانی کی جب کہ اللہ نے تمہیں وہ (فتح) دکھا دی تھی جو تم چاہتے تھے، تم میں سے کوئی دنیا کا خواہش مند تھا اور تم میں سے کوئی آخرت کا طلب گار تھا، پھر اس نے تمہیں ان سے (مغلوب کر کے) پھیر دیا تاکہ وہ تمہیں آزمائے، (بعد ازاں) اس نے تمہیں معاف کر دیا، اور اللہ اہلِ ایمان پر بڑے فضل والا ہے

And Allah had certainly fulfilled His promise to you when you were killing the enemy by His permission until [the time] when you lost courage and fell to disputing about the order [given by the Prophet] and disobeyed after He had shown you that which you love. Among you are some who desire this world, and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then he turned you back from them [defeated] that He might test you. And He has already forgiven you, and Allah is the possessor of bounty for the believers.

Allatheena qaloo inna AllahaAAahida ilayna alla nu/mina lirasoolin hattaya/tiyana biqurbanin ta/kuluhu annaruqul qad jaakum rusulun min qablee bilbayyinatiwabillathee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kutum sadiqeen

جو لوگ (یعنی یہود حیلہ جوئی کے طور پر) یہ کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ نے ہمیں یہ حکم بھیجا تھا کہ ہم کسی پیغمبر پر ایمان نہ لائیں جب تک وہ (اپنی رسالت کے ثبوت میں) ایسی قربانی نہ لائے جسے آگ (آکر) کھا جائے، آپ (ان سے) فرما دیں: بیشک مجھ سے پہلے بہت سے رسول واضح نشانیاں لے کر آئے اور اس نشانی کے ساتھ بھی (آئے) جو تم کہہ رہے ہو تو (اس کے باوجود) تم نے انہیں شہید کیوں کیا اگر تم (اتنے ہی) سچے ہوo

[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire [from heaven] will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"

He promises them

وہ وعدہ کرتا ہے ان سے

wayumannīhim

and arouses desires in them

اور امیدیں دلاتا ہے ان کو

wamā

and not

اور نہیں

وعدہ کرتا ان سے

مگر

ghurūran

دھوکے کا

Urdu —

شیطان انہیں (غلط) وعدے دیتا ہے اور انہیں (جھوٹی) اُمیدیں دلاتا ہے اور شیطان فریب کے سوا ان سے کوئی وعدہ نہیں کرتا

Satan promises them and arouses desire in them. But Satan does not promise them except delusion.

— Transliteration

Wallatheena amanoowaAAamiloo assalihati sanudkhiluhum jannatintajree min tahtiha al-anharu khalideenafeeha abadan waAAda Allahi haqqan waman asdaqumina Allahi qeela

And those who

will abide

ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں

A Promise

وعدہ ہے

l-lahi

(of) Allah

اللہ کا

ḥaqqan

(in) truth

سچا

waman

and who

اور کون

aṣdaqu

(is) truer

زیادہ سچا ہے

than

سے

l-lahi

Allah

qīlan

(in) statement

بات میں

Urdu —

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے ہم انہیں عنقریب بہشتوں میں داخل کریں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی وہ ان میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے۔ (یہ) اللہ کا سچا وعدہ ہے، اور اللہ سے زیادہ بات کا سچا کون ہوسکتا ہے

— English

But the ones who believe and do righteous deeds - We will admit them to gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever. [It is] the promise of Allah, [which is] truth, and who is more truthful than Allah in statement.

— Transliteration

Walaqad kuththibat rusulun minqablika fasabaroo AAala ma kuththiboowaoothoo hatta atahum nasrunawala mubaddila likalimati Allahi walaqad jaakamin naba-i almursaleen

and surely

اور البتہ تحقیق

has come to you

آگئی ہیں تیرے پاس

**of (the) news

میں سے

(the) news

خبروں

(of) the Messengers

رسولوں کی

Urdu —

اور بیشک آپ سے قبل (بھی بہت سے) رسول جھٹلائے گئے مگر انہوں نے جھٹلائے جانے اور اذیت پہنچائے جانے پر صبر کیا حتٰی کہ انہیں ہماری مدد آپہنچی، اور اﷲ کی باتوں (یعنی وعدوں کو) کوئی بدلنے والا نہیں، اور بیشک آپ کے پاس (تسکینِ قلب کے لیے) رسولوں کی خبریں آچکی ہیں

— English

And certainly were messengers denied before you, but they were patient over [the effects of] denial, and they were harmed until Our victory came to them. And none can alter the words of Allah. And there has certainly come to you some information about the [previous] messengers.

وَنَادٰىۤ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡجَـنَّةِ اَصۡحٰبَ النَّارِ اَنۡ قَدۡ وَجَدۡنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلۡ وَجَدتُّمۡ مَّا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمۡ حَقًّا‌ ؕ قَالُوۡا نَـعَمۡ‌ۚ فَاَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡ اَنۡ لَّـعۡنَةُ اللّٰهِ عَلَى الظّٰلِمِيۡنَۙ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wanada as-habualjannati as-haba annari an qadwajadna ma waAAadana rabbuna haqqanfahal wajadtum ma waAAada rabbukum haqqan qaloonaAAam faaththana mu-aththinun baynahum an laAAnatuAllahi AAala aththalimeen

`Yes.`

Then will announce

کہیں تو پکارے گا

mu-adhinun

an announcer

ایک پکارنے والا

baynahum

among them

ان کے درمیان

[that]

کہ

laʿnatu

(The) curse

لعنت

l-lahi

(of) Allah

اللہ کی

ʿalā

(is) on

پر

l-ẓālimīna

the wrongdoers

ظالموں (پر)

Urdu —

اور اہلِ جنت دوزخ والوں کو پکار کر کہیں گے: ہم نے تو واقعتاً اسے سچّا پالیا جو وعدہ ہمارے رب نے ہم سے فرمایا تھا، سو کیا تم نے (بھی) اسے سچّا پایا جو وعدہ تمہارے ربّ نے (تم سے) کیا تھا؟ وہ کہیں گے: ہاں۔ پھر ان کے درمیان ایک آواز دینے والا آواز دے گا کہ ظالموں پر اﷲ کی لعنت ہے

— English

And the companions of Paradise will call out to the companions of the Fire, "We have already found what our Lord promised us to be true. Have you found what your Lord promised to be true?" They will say, "Yes." Then an announcer will announce among them, "The curse of Allah shall be upon the wrongdoers."

قَالُـوۡۤا اَجِئۡتَنَا لِنَعۡبُدَ اللّٰهَ وَحۡدَهٗ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعۡبُدُ اٰبَآؤُنَا‌ۚ فَاۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ اِنۡ كُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Qaloo aji/tana linaAAbuda Allahawahdahu wanathara ma kana yaAAbudu abaonafa/tina bima taAAiduna in kunta mina assadiqeen

Have you come to us

سچوں میں (سے)

Urdu —

وہ کہنے لگے: کیا تم ہمارے پاس (اس لئے) آئے ہو کہ ہم صرف ایک اﷲ کی عبادت کریں اور ان (سب خداؤں) کو چھوڑ دیں جن کی پرستش ہمارے باپ دادا کیا کرتے تھے؟ سو تم ہمارے پاس وہ (عذاب) لے آؤ جس کی تم ہمیں وعید سناتے ہو اگر تم سچے لوگوں میں سے ہو

— English

They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

FaAAaqaroo annaqata waAAatawAAan amri rabbihim waqaloo ya salihui/tina bima taAAiduna in kunta minaalmursaleen

the Messengers

رسولوں میں سے

Urdu —

پس انہوں نے اونٹنی کو (کاٹ کر) مار ڈالا اور اپنے ربّ کے حکم سے سرکشی کی اور کہنے لگے: اے صالح! تم وہ (عذاب) ہمارے پاس لے آؤ جس کی تم ہمیں وعید سناتے تھے اگر تم (واقعی) رسولوں میں سے ہو

— English

So they hamstrung the she-camel and were insolent toward the command of their Lord and said, "O Salih, bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the messengers."

— Transliteration

Falamma kashafna AAanhumu arrijzaila ajalin hum balighoohu itha humyankuthoon

پھر جب ہم ان سے اس مدت تک کے لئے جس کو وہ پہنچنے والے ہوتے وہ عذاب ٹال دیتے تو وہ فوراً ہی عہد توڑ دیتے

— English

But when We removed the punishment from them until a term which they were to reach, then at once they broke their word.

At-TawbaThe Repentance009surahتوبہ

MaddiniSerial: Revelation: 113Verses: 129Parah: 10,11Rukus: 16Sajda: ---

فَاَعۡقَبَهُمۡ نِفَاقًا فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ اِلٰى يَوۡمِ يَلۡقَوۡنَهٗ بِمَاۤ اَخۡلَفُوا اللّٰهَ مَا وَعَدُوۡهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡذِبُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

FaaAAqabahum nifaqan fee quloobihimila yawmi yalqawnahu bima akhlafoo Allaha mawaAAadoohu wabima kanoo yakthiboon

So He penalized them

they had promised Him

انہوں نے اس سے وعدہ کیا تھا

اور بوجہ اس کے جو

they used to

تھے

yakdhibūna

lie

وہ جھوٹ بولتے

Urdu —

پس اس نے ان کے دلوں میں نفاق کو (ان کے اپنے بخل کا) انجام بنا دیا اس دن تک کہ جب وہ اس سے ملیں گے اس وجہ سے کہ انہوں نے اللہ سے اپنے کئے ہوئے عہد کی خلاف ورزی کی اور اس وجہ سے (بھی) کہ وہ کذب بیانی کیا کرتے تھے

— English

So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they [habitually] used to lie.

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ اشۡتَرٰى مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ اَنۡفُسَهُمۡ وَاَمۡوَالَهُمۡ بِاَنَّ لَهُمُ الۡجَــنَّةَ‌ ؕ يُقَاتِلُوۡنَ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ فَيَقۡتُلُوۡنَ وَ يُقۡتَلُوۡنَ‌وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡهِ حَقًّا فِىۡ التَّوۡرٰٮةِ وَالۡاِنۡجِيۡلِ وَالۡقُرۡاٰنِ‌ ؕ وَمَنۡ اَوۡفٰى بِعَهۡدِهٖ مِنَ اللّٰهِ فَاسۡتَـبۡشِرُوۡا بِبَيۡعِكُمُ الَّذِىۡ بَايَعۡتُمۡ بِهٖ‌ ؕ وَذٰلِكَ هُوَ الۡفَوۡزُ الۡعَظِيۡمُ‏ 

— Transliteration

Inna Allaha ishtara minaalmu/mineena anfusahum waamwalahum bi-anna lahumualjannata yuqatiloona fee sabeeli Allahifayaqtuloona wayuqtaloona waAAdan AAalayhi haqqan fee attawratiwal-injeeli walqur-ani waman awfabiAAahdihi mina Allahi fastabshiroo bibayAAikumuallathee bayaAAtum bihi wathalika huwaalfawzu alAAatheem

پھر وہ مارتے ہیں

and they are slain

اور مارے جاتے ہیں

waʿdan

A promise

وعدہ ہے

ʿalayhi

upon Him

اس کے ذمہ

ḥaqqan

true

سچا

fī

میں

l-tawrāti

the Taurat

تورات

wal-injīli

and the Injeel

اور انجیل میں

wal-qur'āni

and the Quran

اور قرآن میں

waman

And who

اور کون

awfā

(is) more faithful

زیادہ پورا کرنے والا ہے

biʿahdihi

to his promise

اپنے عہد کو

mina

than

مقابلے میں

l-lahi

Allah

اللہ کے

fa-is'tabshirū

So rejoice

پس خوشیاں مناؤ

bibayʿikumu

in your transaction

اپنے سودے پر

alladhī

which

وہ جو

bāyaʿtum

you have contracted

سودا کیا تم نے ساتھ

bihi

[with it].

اس کے

wadhālika

And that

اور یہی

huwa

وہ

l-fawzu

(is) the success

کامیابی ہے

l-ʿaẓīmu

the great

بڑی

Urdu —

بیشک اﷲ نے اہلِ ایمان سے ان کی جانیں اور ان کے مال، ان کے لئے جنت کے عوض خرید لئے ہیں، (اب) وہ اللہ کی راہ میں قتال کرتے ہیں، سو وہ (حق کی خاطر) قتل کرتے ہیں اور (خود بھی) قتل کئے جاتے ہیں۔ (اﷲ نے) اپنے ذمۂ کرم پر پختہ وعدہ (لیا) ہے، تَورات میں (بھی) انجیل میں (بھی) اور قرآن میں (بھی)، اور کون اپنے وعدہ کو اﷲ سے زیادہ پورا کرنے والا ہے، سو (ایمان والو!) تم اپنے سودے پر خوشیاں مناؤ جس کے عوض تم نے (جان و مال کو) بیچا ہے، اور یہی تو زبردست کامیابی ہے

— English

Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah, so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.

وَمَا كَانَ اسۡتِغۡفَارُ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ لِاَبِيۡهِ اِلَّا عَنۡ مَّوۡعِدَةٍ وَّعَدَهَاۤ اِيَّاهُ‌ ۚ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهٗۤ اَنَّهٗ عَدُوٌّ لِّلَّهِ تَبَرَّاَ مِنۡهُ‌ؕ اِنَّ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ لَاَوَّاهٌ حَلِيۡمٌ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wama kana istighfaruibraheema li-abeehi illa AAan mawAAidatin waAAadahaiyyahu falamma tabayyana lahu annahu AAaduwwun lillahitabarraa minhu inna ibraheema laawwahun haleem

ʿaduwwun

(was) an enemy

وہ دشمن ہے

to Allah

اللہ کا

tabarra-a

he disassociated

بےزار ہوگیا

from him.

اس سے

Indeed,

بیشک

Ibrahim

ابراہیم

la-awwāhun

(was) compassionate

البتہ دردمند تھے۔ بہت آہیں بھرنے والے تھے

ḥalīmun

forbearing

تحمل والے تھے

Urdu —

اور ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کا اپنے باپ (یعنی چچا آزر، جس نے آپ کو پالا تھا) کے لئے دعائے مغفرت کرنا صرف اس وعدہ کی غرض سے تھا جو وہ اس سے کر چکے تھے، پھر جب ان پر یہ ظاہر ہوگیا کہ وہ اللہ کا دشمن ہے تو وہ اس سے بے زار ہوگئے (اس سے لاتعلق ہوگئے اور پھر کبھی اس کے حق میں دعا نہ کی)۔ بیشک ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) بڑے دردمند (گریہ و زاری کرنے والے اور) نہایت بردبار تھے

— English

And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him. Indeed was Abraham compassionate and patient.

اِلَيۡهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ جَمِيۡعًا ‌ؕ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقًّا‌ ؕ اِنَّهٗ يَـبۡدَؤُا الۡخَـلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيۡدُهٗ لِيَجۡزِىَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ بِالۡقِسۡطِ‌ؕ وَالَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا لَهُمۡ شَرَابٌ مِّنۡ حَمِيۡمٍ وَّعَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌۢ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡفُرُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Ilayhi marjiAAukum jameeAAan waAAda Allahihaqqan innahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu liyajziyaallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo assalihatibilqisti wallatheena kafaroo lahumsharabun min hameemin waAAathabun aleemunbima kanoo yakfuroon

disbelieved

for them

(will be) a drink

boiling fluids

کھولتے ہوئے پانی

waʿadhābun

and a punishment

اور عذاب ہے

disbelieve

کفر کرتے

Urdu —

(لوگو!) تم سب کو اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے (یہ) اللہ کا سچا وعدہ ہے۔ بیشک وہی پیدائش کی ابتداء کرتا ہے پھر وہی اسے دہرائے گا تاکہ ان لوگوں کو جو ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کئے، انصاف کے ساتھ جزا دے، اور جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا ان کے لئے پینے کو کھولتا ہوا پانی اور دردناک عذاب ہے، اس کا بدلہ جو وہ کفر کیا کرتے تھے

— English

To Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny.

اور خواہ ہم آپ کو اس (عذاب) کا کچھ حصہ (دنیا میں ہی) دکھا دیں جس کا ہم ان سے وعدہ کر رہے ہیں (اور ہم آپ کی حیاتِ مبارکہ میں ایسا کریں گے) یا (اس سے پہلے) ہم آپ کو وفات بخش دیں، تو انہیں (بہر صورت) ہماری ہی طرف لوٹنا ہے، پھر اللہ (خود) اس پر گواہ ہے جو کچھ وہ کر رہے ہیں

And whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muhammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allah is a witness concerning what they are doing

Unquestionably, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Unquestionably, the promise of Allah is truth, but most of them do not know

ان کے لئے دنیا کی زندگی میں (بھی عزت و مقبولیت کی) بشارت ہے اور آخرت میں (بھی مغفرت و شفاعت کی/ یا دنیا میں بھی نیک خوابوں کی صورت میں پاکیزہ روحانی مشاہدات ہیں اور آخرت میں بھی حُسنِ مطلق کے جلوے اور دیدار)، اللہ کے فرمان بدلا نہیں کرتے، یہی وہ عظیم کامیابی ہے

— English

For them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words of Allah. That is what is the great attainment.

And Noah called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!"

وہ بولے: اے صالح! اس سے قبل ہماری قوم میں تم ہی امیدوں کا مرکز تھے، کیا تم ہمیں ان (بتوں) کی پرستش کرنے سے روک رہے ہو جن کی ہمارے باپ دادا پرستش کرتے رہے ہیں؟ اور جس (توحید) کی طرف تم ہمیں بلا رہے ہو یقینًا ہم اس کے بارے میں بڑے اضطراب انگیز شک میں مبتلا ہیں

— English

They said, "O Salih, you were among us a man of promise before this. Do you forbid us to worship what our fathers worshipped? And indeed we are, about that to which you invite us, in disquieting doubt."

پھر انہوں نے اسے (کونچیں کاٹ کر) ذبح کر ڈالا، صالح (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: (اب) تم اپنے گھروں میں (صرف) تین دن (تک) عیش کرلو، یہ وعدہ ہے جو (کبھی) جھوٹا نہ ہوگا

But they hamstrung her, so he said, "Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied."

قَالَ لَنۡ اُرۡسِلَهٗ مَعَكُمۡ حَتّٰى تُؤۡتُوۡنِ مَوۡثِقًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ لَــتَاۡتُنَّنِىۡ بِهٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يُّحَاطَ بِكُمۡ‌ۚ فَلَمَّاۤ اٰتَوۡهُ مَوۡثِقَهُمۡ قَالَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مَا نَقُوۡلُ وَكِيۡلٌ‏ 

— Transliteration

Qala lan orsilahu maAAakum hattatu/tooni mawthiqan mina Allahi lata/tunnanee bihi illaan yuhata bikum falamma atawhu mawthiqahum qalaAllahu AAala ma naqoolu wakeel

will I send him

یعقوب (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: میں اسے ہرگز تمہارے ساتھ نہیں بھیجوں گا یہاں تک کہ تم اﷲ کی قسم کھا کر مجھے پختہ وعدہ دو کہ تم اسے ضرور میرے پاس (واپس) لے آؤ گے سوائے اس کے کہ تم (سب) کو (کہیں) گھیر لیا جائے (یا ہلاک کر دیا جائے)، پھر جب انہوں نے یعقوب (علیہ السلام) کو اپنا پختہ عہد دے دیا تو یعقوب (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: جو کچھ ہم کہہ رہے ہیں اس پر اﷲ نگہبان ہے

[Jacob] said, "Never will I send him with you until you give me a promise by Allah that you will bring him [back] to me, unless you should be surrounded by enemies." And when they had given their promise, he said, "Allah, over what we say, is Witness."

وَلَوۡ اَنَّ قُرۡاٰنًا سُيِّرَتۡ بِهِ الۡجِبَالُ اَوۡ قُطِّعَتۡ بِهِ الۡاَرۡضُ اَوۡ كُلِّمَ بِهِ الۡمَوۡتٰى‌ ؕ بَل لِّلّٰهِ الۡاَمۡرُ جَمِيۡعًا‌ؕ اَفَلَمۡ يَايۡــَٔسِ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اَنۡ لَّوۡ يَشَآءُ اللّٰهُ لَهَدَى النَّاسَ جَمِيۡعًاؕ وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا تُصِيۡبُهُمۡ بِمَا صَنَعُوۡا قَارِعَةٌ اَوۡ تَحُلُّ قَرِيۡبًا مِّنۡ دَارِهِمۡ حَتّٰى يَاۡتِىَ وَعۡدُ اللّٰهِ‌ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يُخۡلِفُ الۡمِيۡعَادَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Walaw anna qur-anan suyyirat bihialjibalu aw quttiAAat bihi al-ardu awkullima bihi almawta bal lillahi al-amru jameeAAanafalam yay-asi allatheena amanoo an law yashaoAllahu lahada annasa jameeAAan walayazalu allatheena kafaroo tuseebuhum bimasanaAAoo qariAAatun aw tahullu qareeban mindarihim hatta ya/tiya waAAdu Allahiinna Allaha la yukhlifu almeeAAad

surely, He would have guided

وہ لوگ

disbelieve

جنہوں نے کفر کیا

tuṣībuhum

to strike them

پہنچتی رہے گی ان کو

bimā

for what

ساتھ اس کے

ṣanaʿū

they did

جو انہوں نے کیا

qāriʿatun

a disaster

کوئی آفت

یا

taḥullu

it settles

اترے گی

qarīban

قریب ہی

min

from

dārihim

their homes

ان کے گھر سے

ḥattā

until

یہاں تک کہ

yatiya

comes

آجائے

waʿdu

(the) promise

وعدہ

l-lahi

(of) Allah

Indeed,

بیشک

اللہ تعالیٰ

(will) not

نہیں

yukh'lifu

fail

خلاف کرے گا

l-mīʿāda

(in) the Promise

وعدے کو

Urdu —

اور اگر کوئی ایسا قرآن ہوتا جس کے ذریعے پہاڑ چلا دیئے جاتے یا اس سے زمین پھاڑ دی جاتی یا اس کے ذریعے مُردوں سے بات کرا دی جاتی (تب بھی وہ ایمان نہ لاتے)، بلکہ سب کام اﷲ ہی کے اختیار میں ہیں، تو کیا ایمان والوں کو (یہ) معلوم نہیں کہ اگر اﷲ چاہتا تو سب لوگوں کو ہدایت فرما دیتا، اور ہمیشہ کافر لوگوں کو ان کے کرتوتوں کے باعث کوئی (نہ کوئی) مصیبت پہنچتی رہے گی یا ان کے گھروں (یعنی بستیوں) کے آس پاس اترتی رہے گی یہاں تک کہ اﷲ کا وعدۂ (عذاب) آپہنچے، بیشک اﷲ وعدہ خلافی نہیں کرتا

— English

And if there was any qur'an by which the mountains would be removed or the earth would be broken apart or the dead would be made to speak, [it would be this Qur'an], but to Allah belongs the affair entirely. Then have those who believed not accepted that had Allah willed, He would have guided the people, all of them? And those who disbelieve do not cease to be struck, for what they have done, by calamity - or it will descend near their home - until there comes the promise of Allah. Indeed, Allah does not fail in [His] promise.

وَاِنۡ مَّا نُرِيَـنَّكَ بَعۡضَ الَّذِىۡ نَعِدُهُمۡ اَوۡ نَـتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَاِنَّمَا عَلَيۡكَ الۡبَلٰغُ وَعَلَيۡنَا الۡحِسَابُ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wa-in ma nuriyannaka baAAdaallathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka fa-innamaAAalayka albalaghu waAAalayna alhisab

(is) the conveyance

and on Us

اور ہمارے ذمہ ہے

l-ḥisābu

(is) the reckoning

حساب

Urdu —

اور اگر ہم (اس عذاب کا) کچھ حصہ جس کا ہم نے ان (کافروں) سے وعدہ کیا ہے آپ کو (حیاتِ ظاہری میں ہی) دکھا دیں یا ہم آپ کو (اس سے قبل) اٹھا لیں (یہ دونوں چیزیں ہماری مرضی پر منحصر ہیں) آپ پر تو صرف (احکام کے) پہنچا دینے کی ذمہ داری ہے اور حساب لینا ہمارا کام ہے

And whether We show you part of what We promise them or take you in death, upon you is only the [duty of] notification, and upon Us is the account.

— Transliteration

Waqala ashshaytanulamma qudiya al-amru inna Allaha waAAadakumwaAAda alhaqqi wawaAAadtukum faakhlaftukum wama kanaliya AAalaykum min sultanin illa an daAAawtukum fastajabtumlee fala taloomoonee waloomoo anfusakum ma anabimusrikhikum wama antum bimusrikhiyya inneekafartu bima ashraktumooni min qablu inna aththalimeenalahum AAathabun aleem

blame me

تم مجھے ملامت کرو

walūmū

but blame

اور ملامت کرو

anfusakum

yourselves

اپنے نفسوں کو

Not

نہیں

(can) I

bimuṣ'rikhikum

(be) your helper

فریاد رس تمہارے لئیے

wamā

and not

اور نہیں

antum

you (can)

تم

bimuṣ'rikhiyya

(be) my helper

فریاد رسی کرنے والے

Indeed, I

deny

انکار کیا میں نے

your association of me (with Allah)

the wrongdoers

(is) a punishment

Urdu —

اور شیطان کہے گا جبکہ فیصلہ ہو چکے گا کہ بیشک اللہ نے تم سے سچا وعدہ کیا تھا اور میں نے (بھی) تم سے وعدہ کیا تھا، سو میں نے تم سے وعدہ خلافی کی ہے، اور مجھے (دنیا میں) تم پر کسی قسم کا زور نہیں تھا سوائے اس کے کہ میں نے تمہیں (باطل کی طرف) بلایا سو تم نے (اپنے مفاد کی خاطر) میری دعوت قبول کی، اب تم مجھے ملامت نہ کرو بلکہ (خود) اپنے آپ کو ملامت کرو۔ نہ میں (آج) تمہاری فریاد رسی کرسکتا ہوں اور نہ تم میری فریاد رسی کر سکتے ہو۔ اس سے پہلے جو تم مجھے (اللہ کا) شریک ٹھہراتے رہے ہو بیشک میں (آج) اس سے انکار کرتا ہوں۔ یقیناً ظالموں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے

— English

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."

Urdu —

سو اللہ کو ہرگز اپنے رسولوں سے وعدہ خلافی کرنے والا نہ سمجھنا! بیشک اللہ غالب، بدلہ لینے والا ہے

So never think that Allah will fail in His promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Owner of Retribution.

وَاَقۡسَمُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ جَهۡدَ اَيۡمَانِهِمۡ‌ۙ لَا يَبۡعَثُ اللّٰهُ مَنۡ يَّمُوۡتُ‌ؕ بَلٰى وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡهِ حَقًّا وَّلٰـكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَۙ‏ 

— Transliteration

Waaqsamoo billahi jahda aymanihimla yabAAathu Allahu man yamootu bala waAAdanAAalayhi haqqan walakinna akthara annasila yaAAlamoon

اور یہ لوگ بڑی شدّ و مد سے اللہ کی قَسمیں کھاتے ہیں کہ جو مَر جائے اللہ اسے (دوبارہ) نہیں اٹھائے گا، کیوں نہیں اس کے ذمۂ کرم پر سچا وعدہ ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

— English

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know.

Fa-itha jaa waAAdu oolahumabaAAathna AAalaykum AAibadan lana oleeba/sin shadeedin fajasoo khilala addiyariwakana waAAdan mafAAoola

پھر جب ان دونوں میں سے پہلی مرتبہ کا وعدہ آپہنچا تو ہم نے تم پر اپنے ایسے بندے مسلّط کر دیئے جو سخت جنگ جُو تھے پھر وہ (تمہاری) تلاش میں (تمہارے) گھروں تک جا گھسے، اور (یہ) وعدہ ضرور پورا ہونا ہی تھا

— English

So when the [time of] promise came for the first of them, We sent against you servants of Ours - those of great military might, and they probed [even] into the homes, and it was a promise fulfilled.

اِنۡ اَحۡسَنۡتُمۡ اَحۡسَنۡتُمۡ لِاَنۡفُسِكُمۡ‌ وَاِنۡ اَسَاۡتُمۡ فَلَهَا‌ؕ فَاِذَا جَآءَ وَعۡدُ الۡاٰخِرَةِ لِيَسُـوْءا وُجُوۡهَكُمۡ وَلِيَدۡخُلُوۡا الۡمَسۡجِدَ كَمَا دَخَلُوۡهُ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَّلِيُتَبِّرُوۡا مَا عَلَوۡا تَتۡبِيۡرًا‏ 

— Transliteration

In ahsantum ahsantumli-anfusikum wa-in asa/tum falaha fa-itha jaawaAAdu al-akhirati liyasoo-oo wujoohakum waliyadkhulooalmasjida kama dakhaloohu awwala marratin waliyutabbiroo maAAalaw tatbeera

and to destroy

اور تاکہ وہ تباہ کردیں

جس پر

ʿalaw

they had conquered

غالب آئیں

tatbīran

(with) destruction

تباہ کرنا

Urdu —

اگر تم بھلائی کرو گے تو اپنے (ہی) لئے بھلائی کرو گے، اور اگر تم برائی کرو گے تو اپنی (ہی) جان کے لئے، پھر جب دوسرے وعدہ کی گھڑی آئی (تو اور ظالموں کو تم پر مسلّط کر دیا) تاکہ (مار مار کر) تمہارے چہرے بگاڑ دیں اور تاکہ مسجدِ اقصٰی میں (اسی طرح) داخل ہوں جیسے اس میں (حملہ آور لوگ) پہلی مرتبہ داخل ہوئے تھے اور تاکہ جس (مقام) پر غلبہ پائیں اسے تباہ و برباد کر ڈالیں

— English

[And said], "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, [you do it] to yourselves." Then when the final promise came, [We sent your enemies] to sadden your faces and to enter the temple in Jerusalem, as they entered it the first time, and to destroy what they had taken over with [total] destruction.

— Transliteration

Wastafziz mani istataAAtaminhum bisawtika waajlib AAalayhim bikhaylika warajlikawasharik-hum fee al-amwali wal-awladiwaAAidhum wama yaAAiduhumu ashshaytanu illaghuroora

the Shaitaan

شیطان

except

مگر

ghurūran

delusion

دھوکے کا

Urdu —

اور جس پر بھی تیرا بس چل سکتا ہے تو (اسے) اپنی آواز سے ڈگمگا لے اور ان پر اپنی (فوج کے) سوار اور پیادہ دستوں کو چڑھا دے اور ان کے مال و اولاد میں ان کا شریک بن جا اور ان سے (جھوٹے) وعدے کر، اور ان سے شیطان دھوکہ و فریب کے سوا (کوئی) وعدہ نہیں کرتا

— English

And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion.

اور ہم نے اس کے بعد بنی اسرائیل سے فرمایا: تم اس ملک میں آباد ہو جاؤ پھر جب آخرت کا وعدہ آجائے گا (تو) ہم تم سب کو اکٹھا سمیٹ کر لے جائیں گے

And We said after Pharaoh to the Children of Israel, "Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth in [one] gathering."

وَكَذٰلِكَ اَعۡثَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ لِيَـعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّاَنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيۡهَا‌ۚ اِذۡ يَتَـنَازَعُوۡنَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ اَمۡرَهُمۡ‌ فَقَالُوۡا ابۡنُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ بُنۡيَانًا‌ ؕ رَّبُّهُمۡ اَعۡلَمُ بِهِمۡ‌ؕ قَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ غَلَبُوۡا عَلٰٓى اَمۡرِهِمۡ لَـنَـتَّخِذَنَّ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مَّسۡجِدًا‏ 

— Transliteration

Wakathalika aAAtharnaAAalayhim liyaAAlamoo anna waAAda Allahi haqqunwaanna asaAAata la rayba feeha ithyatanazaAAoona baynahum amrahum faqaloo ibnooAAalayhim bunyanan rabbuhum aAAlamu bihim qala allatheenaghalaboo AAala amrihim lanattakhithanna AAalayhimmasjida

they disputed

وہ جھگڑ رہے تھے

among themselves

آپس میں

amrahum

about their affair

اپنے معاملے میں

faqālū

and they said

تو انہوں نے کہا

ib'nū

Construct

بناؤ

ʿalayhim

over them

ان پر

bun'yānan

a structure

ایک عمارت

rabbuhum

Their Lord

ان کا رب

aʿlamu

knows best

زیادہ جانتا ہے

bihim

about them."

ان کو

Said

کہا

alladhīna

those who

ان لوگوں نے

ghalabū

prevailed

جو غالب تھے

ʿalā

پر

their matter

Surely we will take

البتہ ہم ضرور بنائیں گے

over them

a place of worship

اور اس طرح ہم نے ان (کے حال) پر ان لوگوں کو (جو چند صدیاں بعد کے تھے) مطلع کردیا تاکہ وہ جان لیں کہ اﷲ کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور یہ (بھی) کہ قیامت کے آنے میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے۔ جب وہ (بستی والے) آپس میں ان کے معاملہ میں جھگڑا کرنے لگے (جب اصحابِ کہف وفات پاگئے) تو انہوں نے کہا کہ ان (کے غار) پر ایک عمارت (بطور یادگار) بنا دو، ان کا رب ان (کے حال) سے خوب واقف ہے، ان (ایمان والوں) نے کہا جنہیں ان کے معاملہ پر غلبہ حاصل تھا کہ ہم ان (کے دروازہ) پر ضرور ایک مسجد بنائیں گے (تاکہ مسلمان اس میں نماز پڑھیں اور ان کی قربت سے خصوصی برکت حاصل کریں)

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

[Dhul-Qarnayn] said, "This is a mercy from my Lord; but when the promise of my Lord comes, He will make it level, and ever is the promise of my Lord true."

And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], "O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers."

The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.

وَيَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَكَ بِالۡعَذَابِ وَلَنۡ يُّخۡلِفَ اللّٰهُ وَعۡدَهٗ‌ؕ وَاِنَّ يَوۡمًا عِنۡدَ رَبِّكَ كَاَلۡفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّوۡنَ‏ 

WayastaAAjiloonaka bilAAathabiwalan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wa-inna yawman AAindarabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoon

اور یہ آپ سے عذاب میں جلدی کے خواہش مند ہیں اور اﷲ ہرگز اپنے وعدہ کی خلاف ورزی نہ کرے گا، اور (جب عذاب کا وقت آئے گا) تو (عذاب کا) ایک دن آپ کے رب کے ہاں ایک ہزار سال کی مانند ہے (اس حساب سے) جو تم شمار کرتے ہو

And they urge you to hasten the punishment. But Allah will never fail in His promise. And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count.

وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنۡكُمۡ وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَـيَسۡتَخۡلِفَـنَّهُمۡ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ كَمَا اسۡتَخۡلَفَ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِيۡنَهُمُ الَّذِىۡ ارۡتَضٰى لَهُمۡ وَلَـيُبَدِّلَــنَّهُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ اَمۡنًا‌ؕ يَعۡبُدُوۡنَنِىۡ لَا يُشۡرِكُوۡنَ بِىۡ شَيْئًا ؕ وَمَنۡ كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذٰلِكَ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡفٰسِقُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

WaAAada Allahu allatheena amanoominkum waAAamiloo assalihatilayastakhlifannahum fee al-ardi kama istakhlafaallatheena min qablihim walayumakkinanna lahum deenahumuallathee irtada lahum walayubaddilannahum minbaAAdi khawfihim amnan yaAAbudoonanee la yushrikoona beeshay-an waman kafara baAAda thalika faola-ika humualfasiqoon

اللہ نے ایسے لوگوں سے وعدہ فرمایا ہے (جس کا ایفا اور تعمیل امت پر لازم ہے) جو تم میں سے ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے وہ ضرور انہی کو زمین میں خلافت (یعنی امانتِ اقتدار کا حق) عطا فرمائے گا جیسا کہ اس نے ان لوگوں کو (حقِ) حکومت بخشا تھا جو ان سے پہلے تھے اور ان کے لئے ان کے دین کو جسے اس نے ان کے لئے پسند فرمایا ہے (غلبہ و اقتدار کے ذریعہ) مضبوط و مستحکم فرما دے گا اور وہ ضرور (اس تمکّن کے باعث) ان کے پچھلے خوف کو (جو ان کی سیاسی، معاشی اور سماجی کمزوری کی وجہ سے تھا) ان کے لئے امن و حفاظت کی حالت سے بدل دے گا، وہ (بے خوف ہو کر) میری عبادت کریں گے میرے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہیں ٹھہرائیں گے (یعنی صرف میرے حکم اور نظام کے تابع رہیں گے)، اور جس نے اس کے بعد ناشکری (یعنی میرے احکام سے انحراف و انکار) کو اختیار کیا تو وہی لوگ فاسق (و نافرمان) ہوں گے

— English

Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them and that He will surely substitute for them, after their fear, security, [for] they worship Me, not associating anything with Me. But whoever disbelieves after that - then those are the defiantly disobedient.

Urdu —

ان کے لئے ان (جنتوں) میں وہ (سب کچھ میسّر) ہوگا جو وہ چاہیں گے (اس میں) ہمیشہ رہیں گے، یہ آپ کے رب کے ذمۂ (کرم) پر مطلوبہ وعدہ ہے (جو پورا ہو کر رہے گا)o

— English

For them therein is whatever they wish, [while] abiding eternally. It is ever upon your Lord a promise [worthy to be] requested.

وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الۡوَعۡدُ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ 

Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen

And they say

اور وہ کہتے ہیں

اور وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم سچے ہو تو (بتاؤ) یہ (عذابِ آخرت کا) وعدہ کب پورا ہوگا

And they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful?"

وَاَصۡبَحَ فُؤَادُ اُمِّ مُوۡسٰى فٰرِغًا‌ؕ اِنۡ كَادَتۡ لَـتُبۡدِىۡ بِهٖ لَوۡلَاۤ اَنۡ رَّبَطۡنَا عَلٰى قَلۡبِهَا لِتَكُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Waasbaha fu-adu ommimoosa farighan in kadat latubdee bihi lawlaan rabatna AAala qalbiha litakoonamina almu/mineen

And became

اور ہوگیا

کہ ظاہر کردیتی

about him,

اس کو

if not

اگر نہ

that

کہ

rabaṭnā

We strengthened

ہم باندھ دیتے

ʿalā

[over]

پر

qalbihā

her heart

اس کے دل

litakūna

so that she would be

تاکہ وہ ہو

mina

سے

l-mu'minīna

the believers

ایمان لانے والوں میں (سے)

Urdu —

اور موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کی والدہ کا دل (صبر سے) خالی ہوگیا، قریب تھا کہ وہ (اپنی بے قراری کے باعث) اس راز کو ظاہر کردیتیں اگر ہم ان کے دل پر صبر و سکون کی قوّت نہ اتارتے تاکہ وہ (وعدۂ الٰہی پر) یقین رکھنے والوں میں سے رہیں

— English

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.

فَرَدَدۡنٰهُ اِلٰٓى اُمِّهٖ كَىۡ تَقَرَّ عَيۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَ وَلِتَعۡلَمَ اَنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّلٰـكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Faradadnahu ila ommihi kaytaqarra AAaynuha wala tahzana walitaAAlamaanna waAAda Allahi haqqun walakinnaaktharahum la yaAAlamoon

So We restored him

تو لوٹا دیا ہم نے اس کو

اس کی ماں (کی طرف)

might be comforted

and not

اور نہ

اور تاکہ جان لے

اللہ کا

ḥaqqun

(is) true

سچا ہے

walākinna

But

لیکن

aktharahum

most of them

ان میں سے اکثر

(do) not

نہیں

yaʿlamūna

know

جانتے ہیں

Urdu —

پس ہم نے موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کو (یوں) ان کی والدہ کے پاس لوٹا دیا تاکہ ان کی آنکھ ٹھنڈی رہے اور وہ رنجیدہ نہ ہوں اور تاکہ وہ (یقین سے) جان لیں کہ اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

— English

So We restored him to his mother that she might be content and not grieve and that she would know that the promise of Allah is true. But most of the people do not know.

اَفَمَنۡ وَّعَدۡنٰهُ وَعۡدًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ لَاقِيۡهِ كَمَنۡ مَّتَّعۡنٰهُ مَتَاعَ الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا ثُمَّ هُوَ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ مِنَ الۡمُحۡضَرِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Afaman waAAadnahu waAAdan hasananfahuwa laqeehi kaman mattaAAnahu mataAAa alhayatiaddunya thumma huwa yawma alqiyamati minaalmuhdareen

دنیا کی

(on the) Day

l-qiyāmati

(of) the Resurrection

قیامت کے

mina

(will be) among

سے

l-muḥ'ḍarīna

those presented

حاضر کئے جانے والوں میں سے ہوگا

Urdu —

کیا وہ شخص جس سے ہم نے کوئی (آخرت کا) اچھا وعدہ فرمایا ہو پھر وہ اسے پانے والا ہو جائے، اس (بدنصیب) کی مثل ہو سکتا ہے جسے ہم نے دنیوی زندگی کے سامان سے نوازا ہو پھر وہ (کفرانِ نعمت کے باعث) روزِ قیامت (عذاب کے لئے) حاضر کئے جانے والوں میں سے ہو جائے

— English

Then is he whom We have promised a good promise which he will obtain like he for whom We provided enjoyment of worldly life [but] then he is, on the Day of Resurrection, among those presented [for punishment in Hell]?

— Transliteration

WaAAda Allahi la yukhlifu AllahuwaAAdahu walakinna akthara annasi layaAAlamoon

(یہ تو) اﷲ کا وعدہ ہے، اﷲ اپنے وعدہ کے خلاف نہیں کرتا، لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

[It is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know.

Ar-RoomThe Romans030surahروم

MakkiSerial: Revelation: 84Verses: 60Parah: 21Rukus: 6Sajda: ---

فَاصۡبِرۡ اِنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ‌ وَّلَا يَسۡتَخِفَّنَّكَ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يُوۡقِنُوۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Fasbir inna waAAda Allahihaqqun wala yastakhiffannaka allatheena layooqinoon

fa-iṣ'bir

So be patient

پس صبر کیجیے

Indeed,

بیشک

(the) Promise

وعدہ

(of) Allah

take you in light estimation

ہلکا پائیں تجھ کو

certain in faith

جو یقین رکھتے

Urdu —

پس آپ صبر کیجئے، بیشک اﷲ کا وعدہ سچا ہے، جو لوگ یقین نہیں رکھتے کہیں (ان کی گمراہی کا غم اور ہدایت کی فکر) آپ کو کمزور ہی نہ کر دیں۔ (اے جانِ جہاں! ان کے کفر کو غمِ جاں نہ بنا لیں)

— English

So be patient. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And let them not disquiet you who are not certain [in faith].

LuqmanLuqman031surahلقمان

MakkiSerial: Revelation: 57Verses: 34Parah: 21Rukus: 3Sajda: ---

خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَا ؕ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقًّا ‌ؕ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ‏ 

— Transliteration

Khalideena feeha waAAda Allahihaqqan wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeem

(To) abide forever

ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں

(وہ) ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے، اﷲ کا وعدہ سچّا ہے، اور وہ غالب ہے حکمت والا ہے

— English

Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوۡا رَبَّكُمۡ وَاخۡشَوۡا يَوۡمًا لَّا يَجۡزِىۡ وَالِدٌ عَنۡ وَّلَدِهٖ وَلَا مَوۡلُوۡدٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَنۡ وَّالِدِهٖ شَيْئًا ؕ اِنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ‌ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الۡحَيٰوةُ الدُّنۡيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمۡ بِاللّٰهِ الۡغَرُوۡرُ‏ 

— Transliteration

Ya ayyuha annasuittaqoo rabbakum wakhshaw yawman la yajzee walidunAAan waladihi wala mawloodun huwa jazin AAan walidihishay-an inna waAAda Allahi haqqun falataghurrannakumu alhayatu addunya walayaghurrannakum billahi algharoor

دھوکے میں ڈالے تجھ کو

**and let not deceive you

اور ہرگز نہ

yaghurrannakum

and let not deceive you

دھوکے میں ڈالے تجھ کو

bil-lahi

about Allah

اللہ کے بارے میں

the deceiver

دھوکے باز

Urdu —

اے لوگو! اپنے رب سے ڈرو، اور اس دن سے ڈرو جس دن کوئی باپ اپنے بیٹے کی طرف سے بدلہ نہیں دے سکے گا اور نہ کوئی ایسا فرزند ہوگا جو اپنے والد کی طرف سے کچھ بھی بدلہ دینے والا ہو، بیشک اﷲ کا وعدہ سچا ہے سو دنیا کی زندگی تمہیں ہرگز دھوکہ میں نہ ڈال دے، اور نہ ہی فریب دینے والا (شیطان) تمہیں اﷲ کے بارے میں دھوکہ میں ڈال دے

— English

O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.

MaddiniSerial: Revelation: 90Verses: 73Parah: 21,22Rukus: 9Sajda: ---

وَاِذۡ يَقُوۡلُ الۡمُنٰفِقُوۡنَ وَالَّذِيۡنَ فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ مَّرَضٌ مَّا وَعَدَنَا اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوۡلُهٗۤ اِلَّا غُرُوۡرًا‏ 

— Transliteration

Wa-ith yaqoolu almunafiqoonawallatheena fee quloobihim maradun mawaAAadana Allahu warasooluhu illa ghuroora

And when

said

کہہ رہے تھے

the hypocrites

Allah promised us

and His messenger

اور اس کے رسول نے

except

مگر

ghurūran

delusion

دھوکے کا

Urdu —

اور جب منافق لوگ اور وہ لوگ جن کے دلوں میں (کمزورئ عقیدہ اور شک و شبہ کی) بیماری تھی، یہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم سے اللہ اور اس کے رسول نے صرف دھوکہ اور فریب کے لئے (فتح کا) وعدہ کیا تھا

— English

And [remember] when the hypocrites and those in whose hearts is disease said, "Allah and His Messenger did not promise us except delusion,"

MaddiniSerial: Revelation: 90Verses: 73Parah: 21,22Rukus: 9Sajda: ---

وَلَقَدۡ كَانُوۡا عَاهَدُوۡا اللّٰهَ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ لَا يُوَلُّوۡنَ الۡاَدۡبَارَ‌ؕ وَكَانَ عَهۡدُ اللّٰهِ مَسۡـــُٔوۡلاً‏ 

— Transliteration

Walaqad kanoo AAahadoo Allahamin qablu la yuwalloona al-adbara wakanaAAahdu Allahi mas-oola

walaqad

And certainly

اور البتہ تحقیق

kānū

they had

انہوں نے

ʿāhadū

promised

عہد کیا تھا

وہ پھیریں گے

to be questioned

پوچھا جانے والا

Urdu —

اور بیشک انہوں نے اس سے پہلے اللہ سے عہد کر رکھا تھا کہ پیٹھ پھیر کر نہ بھاگیں گے، اور اللہ سے کیے ہوئے عہد کی (ضرور) باز پُرس ہوگی

— English

And they had already promised Allah before not to turn their backs and flee. And ever is the promise to Allah [that about which one will be] questioned.

وَلَمَّا رَاَ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ الۡاَحۡزَابَۙ قَالُوۡا هٰذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوۡلُهٗ وَصَدَقَ اللّٰهُ وَرَسُوۡلُهٗ‌ وَمَا زَادَهُمۡ اِلَّاۤ اِيۡمَانًـا وَّتَسۡلِيۡمًاؕ‏ 

— Transliteration

Walamma raa almu/minoona al-ahzabaqaloo hatha ma waAAadana Allahuwarasooluhu wasadaqa Allahu warasooluhu wamazadahum illa eemanan watasleema

the believers

the confederates

they said

and His Messenger

اور اس کے رسول نے

waṣadaqa

and Allah spoke the truth

اور سچ فرمایا

l-lahu

and Allah spoke the truth

اللہ نے

and His Messenger

اور اس کے رسول نے

wamā

And not

اور نہیں

zādahum

it increased them

بڑھایا ان کو

illā

except

مگر

īmānan

(in) faith

ایمان میں

wataslīman

and submission

اور سپرد کردینے میں۔ سپردگی میں۔ سونپ دینے میں

Urdu —

اور جب اہلِ ایمان نے (کافروں کے) لشکر دیکھے تو بول اٹھے کہ یہ ہے جس کا اﷲ اور اس کے رسول نے ہم سے وعدہ فرمایا تھا اور اﷲ اور اس کے رسول نے سچ فرمایا ہے، سو اس (منظر) سے ان کے ایمان اور اطاعت گزاری میں اضافہ ہی ہوا

— English

And when the believers saw the companies, they said, "This is what Allah and His Messenger had promised us, and Allah and His Messenger spoke the truth." And it increased them only in faith and acceptance.

MakkiSerial: Revelation: 58Verses: 54Parah: 22Rukus: 6Sajda: ---

وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الۡوَعۡدُ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ 

Urdu —

اے لوگو! بیشک اﷲ کا وعدہ سچا ہے سو دنیا کی زندگی تمہیں ہرگز فریب نہ دے دے، اور نہ وہ دغا باز شیطان تمہیں اﷲ (کے نام) سے دھوکہ دے

— English

O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.

قُلۡ اَرَءَيۡتُمۡ شُرَكَآءَكُمُ الَّذِيۡنَ تَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِؕ اَرُوۡنِىۡ مَاذَا خَلَقُوۡا مِنَ الۡاَرۡضِ اَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٌ فِىۡ السَّمٰوٰتِ‌ۚ اَمۡ اٰتَيۡنٰهُمۡ كِتٰبًا فَهُمۡ عَلٰى بَيِّنَتٍ مِّنۡهُ ۚ بَلۡ اِنۡ يَّعِدُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ بَعۡضًا اِلَّا غُرُوۡرًا‏ 

— Transliteration

فرما دیجئے: کیا تم نے اپنے شریکوں کو دیکھا ہے جنہیں تم اﷲ کے سوا پوجتے ہو، مجھے دکھا دو کہ انہوں نے زمین سے کیا چیز پیدا کی ہے یا آسمانوں (کی تخلیق) میں ان کی کوئی شراکت ہے، یا ہم نے انہیں کوئی کتاب عطا کر رکھی ہے کہ وہ اس کی دلیل پر قائم ہیں؟ (کچھ بھی نہیں ہے) بلکہ ظالم لوگ ایک دوسرے سے فریب کے سوا کوئی وعدہ نہیں کرتے

— English

Say, "Have you considered your 'partners' whom you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created from the earth, or have they partnership [with Him] in the heavens? Or have We given them a book so they are [standing] on evidence therefrom? [No], rather, the wrongdoers do not promise each other except delusion."

Lakini allatheena ittaqawrabbahum lahum ghurafun min fawqiha ghurafun mabniyyatuntajree min tahtiha al-anharu waAAda Allahila yukhlifu Allahu almeeAAad

لیکن جو لوگ اپنے رب سے ڈرتے ہیں ان کے لئے (جنت میں) بلند محلات ہوں گے جن کے اوپر (بھی) بالاخانے بنائے گئے ہوں گے، اُن کے نیچے سے نہریں رواں ہوں گی۔ یہ اللہ کا وعدہ ہے، اللہ وعدہ کی خلاف ورزی نہیں کرتا

— English

But those who have feared their Lord - for them are chambers, above them chambers built high, beneath which rivers flow. [This is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in [His] promise.

وَقَالُوۡا الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىۡ صَدَقَنَا وَعۡدَهٗ وَاَوۡرَثَنَا الۡاَرۡضَ نَتَبَوَّاُ مِنَ الۡجَـنَّةِ حَيۡثُ نَشَآءُ ‌ۚ فَنِعۡمَ اَجۡرُ الۡعٰمِلِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Waqaloo alhamdu lillahiallathee sadaqana waAAdahu waawrathanaal-arda natabawwao mina aljannati haythu nashaofaniAAma ajru alAAamileen

اور وہ (جنتی) کہیں گے: تمام تعریفیں اللہ ہی کے لئے ہیں جس نے ہم سے اپنا وعدہ سچا کر دکھایا اور ہمیں سرزمینِ جنت کا وارث بنا دیا کہ ہم (اِس) جنّت میں جہاں چاہیں قیام کریں، سو نیک عمل کرنے والوں کا کیسا اچھا اجر ہے

— English

And they will say, "Praise to Allah, who has fulfilled for us His promise and made us inherit the earth [so] we may settle in Paradise wherever we will. And excellent is the reward of [righteous] workers."

فَاصۡبِرۡ اِنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِ حَقٌّ وَّاسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لِذَنۡۢبِكَ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ بِالۡعَشِىِّ وَالۡاِبۡكَارِ‏ 

— Transliteration

Fasbir inna waAAda Allahihaqqun wastaghfir lithanbika wasabbihbihamdi rabbika bilAAashiyyi wal-ibkar

پس آپ صبر کیجئے، بے شک اللہ کا وعدہ حق ہے اور اپنی اُمت کے گناہوں کی بخشش طلب کیجئے٭ اور صبح و شام اپنے رب کی حمد کے ساتھ تسبیح کیا کیجئے

— English

So be patient, [O Muhammad]. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And ask forgiveness for your sin and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord in the evening and the morning.

— Transliteration

وہ سب لوٹائے جائیں گے

Urdu —

پس آپ صبر کیجئے بے شک اﷲ کا وعدہ سچّا ہے، پھر اگر ہم آپ کو اس (عذاب) کا کچھ حصّہ دکھا دیں جس کا ہم اُن سے وعدہ کر رہے ہیں یا ہم آپ کو (اس سے قبل) وفات دے دیں تو (دونوں صورتوں میں) وہ ہماری ہی طرف لوٹائے جائیں گے

— English

So be patient, [O Muhammad]; indeed, the promise of Allah is truth. And whether We show you some of what We have promised them or We take you in death, it is to Us they will be returned.

Az-ZukhrufOrnaments of gold043surahسونے کی چمک

فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُمُ الۡعَذَابَ اِذَا هُمۡ يَنۡكُثُوۡنَ‏ 

Wa-itha qeela inna waAAda Allahihaqqun wassaAAatu la rayba feehaqultum ma nadree ma assaAAatu in nathunnuilla thannan wama nahnubimustayqineen

اور جب کہا جاتا تھا کہ اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور قیامت (کے آنے) میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے تو تم کہتے تھے کہ ہم نہیں جانتے قیامت کیا ہے، ہم اُسے وہم و گمان کے سوا کچھ نہیں سمجھتے اور ہم (اِس پر) یقین کرنے والے نہیں ہیں

And when it was said, 'Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth and the Hour [is coming] - no doubt about it,' you said, 'We know not what is the Hour. We assume only assumption, and we are not convinced.' "

يٰقَوۡمَنَاۤ اَجِيۡبُوۡا دَاعِىَ اللّٰهِ وَاٰمِنُوۡا بِهٖ يَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ مِّنۡ ذُنُوۡبِكُمۡ وَيُجِرۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ اَلِيۡمٍ‏ 

— Transliteration

Ya qawmana ajeeboo daAAiyaAllahi waaminoo bihi yaghfir lakum min thunoobikumwayujirkum min AAathabin aleem

اے ہماری قوم! تم اﷲ کی طرف بلانے والے (یعنی محمد رسول اﷲ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بات قبول کر لو اور ان پر ایمان لے آؤ (تو) اﷲ تمہارے گناہ بخش دے گا اور تمہیں دردناک عذاب سے پناہ دے گاo

— English

O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.

وَمَنۡ لَّا يُجِبۡ دَاعِىَ اللّٰهِ فَلَيۡسَ بِمُعۡجِزٍ فِىۡ الۡاَرۡضِ وَلَيۡسَ لَهٗ مِنۡ دُوۡنِهٖۤ اَوۡلِيَآءُ‌ؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ فِىۡ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيۡنٍ‏ 

— Transliteration

Waman la yujib daAAiya Allahifalaysa bimuAAjizin fee al-ardi walaysa lahu min doonihiawliyaa ola-ika fee dalalin mubeen

اور جو شخص اﷲ کی طرف بلانے والے (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی بات قبول نہیں کرے گا تو وہ زمین میں (بھاگ کر اﷲ کو) عاجز نہیں کر سکے گا اور نہ ہی اس کے لئے اﷲ کے سوا کوئی مددگار ہوں گے۔ یہی لوگ کھلی گمراہی میں ہیںo

— English

But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error."

قَالُـوۡۤا اَجِئۡتَـنَا لِتَاۡفِكَنَا عَنۡ اٰلِهَـتِنَا‌ ۚ فَاۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ اِنۡ كُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Qaloo aji/tana lita/fikanaAAan alihatina fa/tina bima taAAidunain kunta mina assadiqeen

They said, "Have you come to delude us away from our gods? Then bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the truthful."

سَيَـقُوۡلُ الۡمُخَلَّفُوۡنَ اِذَا انْطَلَقۡتُمۡ اِلٰى مَغَانِمَ لِتَاۡخُذُوۡهَا ذَرُوۡنَا نَـتَّبِعۡكُمۡ‌ۚ يُرِيۡدُوۡنَ اَنۡ يُّبَدِّلُوۡا كَلٰمَ اللّٰهِ‌ؕ قُل لَّنۡ تَتَّبِعُوۡنَا كَذٰلِكُمۡ قَالَ اللّٰهُ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ‌ ۚ فَسَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ بَلۡ تَحۡسُدُوۡنَـنَا‌ؕ بَلۡ كَانُوۡا لَا يَفۡقَهُوۡنَ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلاً‏ 

— Transliteration

Sayaqoolu almukhallafoona itha intalaqtumila maghanima lita/khuthooha tharoonanattabiAAkum yureedoona an yubaddiloo kalama Allahiqul lan tattabiAAoona kathalikum qala Allahumin qablu fasayaqooloona bal tahsudoonana bal kanoola yafqahoona illa qaleela

جب تم (خیبر کے) اَموالِ غنیمت کو حاصل کرنے کی طرف چلو گے تو (سفرِ حدیبیہ میں) پیچھے رہ جانے والے لوگ کہیں گے: ہمیں بھی اجازت دو کہ ہم تمہارے پیچھے ہو کر چلیں۔ وہ چاہتے ہیں کہ اﷲ کے فرمان کو بدل دیں۔ فرما دیجئے: تم ہرگز ہمارے پیچھے نہیں آسکتے اسی طرح اﷲ نے پہلے سے فرما دیا تھا۔ سو اب وہ کہیں گے: بلکہ تم ہم سے حسد کرتے ہو، بات یہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ (حق بات کو) بہت ہی کم سمجھتے ہیںo

Those who remained behind will say when you set out toward the war booty to take it, "Let us follow you." They wish to change the words of Allah. Say, "Never will you follow us. Thus did Allah say before." So they will say, "Rather, you envy us." But [in fact] they were not understanding except a little.

وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الۡوَعۡدُ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ 

— Transliteration

Wayaqooloona mata hathaalwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeen

Word By Word —

wayaqūlūna

And they say

اور وہ کہتے ہیں

matā

`When

کب ہے

hādhā

(is) this

یہ

l-waʿdu

promise

وعدہ

اگر ہو

kuntum

you are

تم

ṣādiqīna

truthful

سچے

Urdu —

اور وہ کہتے ہیں: یہ (قیامت کا) وعدہ کب پورا ہوگا اگر تم سچے ہوo

— English

And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"

اۨلسَّمَآءُ مُنۡفَطِرٌۢ بِهٖ‌ؕ كَانَ وَعۡدُهٗ مَفۡعُوۡلاً‏ 

— Transliteration

Assamao munfatirunbihi kana waAAduhu mafAAoola

al-samāu

The heaven

آسمان

munfaṭirun

(will) break apart

پھٹ رہا ہوگا

bihi

therefrom,

ساتھ اس کے

kāna

ہے

waʿduhu

His Promise

وعدہ اس کا

mafʿūlan

to be fulfilled

ہو کر رہنے والا

Urdu —

(جس دن کی) شدت کے باعث آسمان پھٹ جائے گا، اُس کا وعدہ پورا ہو کر رہے گاo

— English

The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.
