وَاِذۡ جَعَلۡنَا الۡبَيۡتَ مَثَابَةً لِّلنَّاسِ وَاَمۡنًاؕ وَاتَّخِذُوۡا مِنۡ مَّقَامِ اِبۡرٰهٖمَ مُصَلًّى ؕ وَعَهِدۡنَآ اِلٰٓى اِبۡرٰهٖمَ وَاِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ اَنۡ طَهِّرَا بَيۡتِىَ لِلطَّآٮِٕفِيۡنَ وَالۡعٰكِفِيۡنَ وَالرُّکَّعِ السُّجُوۡدِ
— Transliteration
Wa-ith jaAAalna albayta mathabatanlinnasi waamnan wattakhithoo minmaqami ibraheema musallan waAAahidnaila ibraheema wa-ismaAAeela an tahhirabaytiya litta-ifeena walAAakifeenawarrukkaAAi assujood

اور (یاد کرو) جب ہم نے اس گھر (خانہ کعبہ) کو لوگوں کے لئے رجوع (اور اجتماع) کا مرکز اور جائے امان بنا دیا، اور (حکم دیا کہ) ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کے کھڑے ہونے کی جگہ کو مقامِ نماز بنا لو، اور ہم نے ابراہیم اور اسماعیل (علیھما السلام) کو تاکید فرمائی کہ میرے گھر کو طواف کرنے والوں اور اعتکاف کرنے والوں اور رکوع و سجود کرنے والوں کے لئے پاک (صاف) کر دو

And [mention] when We made the House a place of return for the people and [a place of] security. And take, [O believers], from the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. And We charged Abraham and Ishmael, [saying], "Purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who are staying [there] for worship and those who bow and prostrate [in prayer]."

Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and purify them. Indeed, You are the Exalted in Might, the Wise."

Indeed, they who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book and exchange it for a small price - those consume not into their bellies except the Fire. And Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. And they will have a painful punishment.

Wayas-aloonaka AAani almaheediqul huwa athan faAAtaziloo annisaafee almaheedi wala taqraboohunna hattayathurna fa-itha tatahharna fa/toohunna min haythuamarakumu Allahu inna Allaha yuhibbu attawwabeenawayuhibbu almutatahhireen

اور آپ سے حیض (ایامِ ماہواری) کی نسبت سوال کرتے ہیں، فرما دیں: وہ نجاست ہے، سو تم حیض کے دنوں میں عورتوں سے کنارہ کش رہا کرو، اور جب تک وہ پاک نہ ہو جائیں ان کے قریب نہ جایا کرو، اور جب وہ خوب پاک ہو جائیں تو جس راستے سے اﷲ نے تمہیں اجازت دی ہے ان کے پاس جایا کرو، بیشک اﷲ بہت توبہ کرنے والوں سے محبت فرماتا ہے اور خوب پاکیزگی اختیار کرنے والوں سے محبت فرماتا ہے

And they ask you about menstruation. Say, "It is harm, so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allah has ordained for you. Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves."

Wa-itha tallaqtumu annisaafabalaghna ajalahunna fala taAAduloohunna an yankihnaazwajahunna itha taradaw baynahum bilmaAAroofithalika yooAAathu bihi man kanaminkum yu/minu billahi walyawmi al-akhirithalikum azka lakum waatharu wallahuyaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoon

اور جب تم عورتوں کو طلاق دو اور وہ اپنی عدت (پوری ہونے) کو آپہنچیں تو جب وہ شرعی دستور کے مطابق باہم رضامند ہو جائیں تو انہیں اپنے (پرانے یا نئے) شوہروں سے نکاح کرنے سے مت روکو، اس شخص کو اس امر کی نصیحت کی جاتی ہے جو تم میں سے اﷲ پراور یومِ قیامت پر ایمان رکھتا ہو، یہ تمہارے لئے بہت ستھری اور نہایت پاکیزہ بات ہے، اور اﷲ جانتا ہے اور تم (بہت سی باتوں کو) نہیں جانتے

And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term, do not prevent them from remarrying their [former] husbands if they agree among themselves on an acceptable basis. That is instructed to whoever of you believes in Allah and the Last Day. That is better for you and purer, and Allah knows and you know not.

— Transliteration
Ith qala Allahu yaAAeesa innee mutawaffeeka warafiAAuka ilayya wamutahhirukamina allatheena kafaroo wajaAAilu allatheenaittabaAAooka fawqa allatheena kafaroo ila yawmialqiyamati thumma ilayya marjiAAukum faahkumubaynakum feema kuntum feehi takhtalifoon

جب اﷲنے فرمایا: اے عیسٰی! بیشک میں تمہیں پوری عمر تک پہنچانے والا ہوں اور تمہیں اپنی طرف (آسمان پر) اٹھانے والا ہوں اور تمہیں کافروں سے نجات دلانے والا ہوں اور تمہارے پیروکاروں کو (ان) کافروں پر قیامت تک برتری دینے والا ہوں، پھر تمہیں میری ہی طرف لوٹ کر آنا ہے سو جن باتوں میں تم جھگڑتے تھے میں تمہارے درمیان ان کا فیصلہ کر دوں گا

[Mention] when Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.

ثُمَّ اَنۡزَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِ الۡغَمِّ اَمَنَةً نُّعَاسًا يَّغۡشٰى طَآٮِٕفَةً مِّنۡكُمۡۙ وَطَآٮِٕفَةٌ قَدۡ اَهَمَّتۡهُمۡ اَنۡفُسُهُمۡ يَظُنُّوۡنَ بِاللّٰهِ غَيۡرَ الۡحَـقِّ ظَنَّ الۡجَـاهِلِيَّةِؕ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ هَل لَّنَا مِنَ الۡاَمۡرِ مِنۡ شَىۡءٍؕ قُلۡ اِنَّ الۡاَمۡرَ كُلَّهٗ لِلّٰهِؕ يُخۡفُوۡنَ فِىۡۤ اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ مَّا لَا يُبۡدُوۡنَ لَكَؕ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ لَوۡ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ الۡاَمۡرِ شَىۡءٌ مَّا قُتِلۡنَا هٰهُنَاؕ قُل لَّوۡ كُنۡتُمۡ فِىۡ بُيُوۡتِكُمۡ لَبَرَزَ الَّذِيۡنَ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡقَتۡلُ اِلٰى مَضَاجِعِهِمۡۚ وَلِيَبۡتَلِىَ اللّٰهُ مَا فِىۡ صُدُوۡرِكُمۡ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِىۡ قُلُوۡبِكُمۡؕ وَاللّٰهُ عَلِيۡمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوۡرِ
— Transliteration
Thumma anzala AAalaykum min baAAdi alghammiamanatan nuAAasan yaghsha ta-ifatan minkumwata-ifatun qad ahammat-hum anfusuhum yathunnoonabillahi ghayra alhaqqi thannaaljahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lana mina al-amri minshay-in qul inna al-amra kullahu lillahi yukhfoona feeanfusihim ma la yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kanalana mina al-amri shay-on ma qutilna hahunaqul law kuntum fee buyootikum labaraza allatheena kutibaAAalayhimu alqatlu ila madajiAAihim waliyabtaliyaAllahu ma fee sudoorikum waliyumahhisama fee quloobikum wallahu AAaleemun bithatiassudoor

پھر اس نے غم کے بعد تم پر (تسکین کے لئے) غنودگی کی صورت میں امان اتاری جو تم میں سے ایک جماعت پر چھا گئی اور ایک گروہ کو (جو منافقوں کا تھا) صرف اپنی جانوں کی فکر پڑی ہوئی تھی وہ اللہ کے ساتھ ناحق گمان کرتے تھے جو (محض) جاہلیت کے گمان تھے، وہ کہتے ہیں: کیا اس کام میں ہمارے لئے بھی کچھ (اختیار) ہے؟ فرما دیں کہ سب کام اللہ ہی کے ہاتھ میں ہے، وہ اپنے دلوں میں وہ باتیں چھپائے ہوئے ہیں جو آپ پر ظاہر نہیں ہونے دیتے۔ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر اس کام میں کچھ ہمارا اختیار ہوتا تو ہم اس جگہ قتل نہ کئے جاتے۔ فرما دیں: اگر تم اپنے گھروں میں (بھی) ہوتے تب بھی جن کا مارا جانا لکھا جا چکا تھا وہ ضرور اپنی قتل گاہوں کی طرف نکل کر آجاتے، اور یہ اس لئے (کیا گیا) ہے کہ جو کچھ تمہارے سینوں میں ہے اللہ اسے آزمائے اور جو (وسوسے) تمہارے دلوں میں ہیں انہیں خوب صاف کر دے، اور اللہ سینوں کی بات خوب جانتا ہے

Then after distress, He sent down upon you security [in the form of] drowsiness, overcoming a faction of you, while another faction worried about themselves, thinking of Allah other than the truth - the thought of ignorance, saying, "Is there anything for us [to have done] in this matter?" Say, "Indeed, the matter belongs completely to Allah." They conceal within themselves what they will not reveal to you. They say, "If there was anything we could have done in the matter, some of us would not have been killed right here." Say, "Even if you had been inside your houses, those decreed to be killed would have come out to their death beds." [It was] so that Allah might test what is in your breasts and purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

Laqad manna Allahu AAalaalmu/mineena ith baAAatha feehim rasoolan min anfusihimyatloo AAalayhim ayatihi wayuzakkeehimwayuAAallimuhumu alkitaba walhikmata wa-inkanoo min qablu lafee dalalin mubeen

Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَقۡرَبُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاَنۡـتُمۡ سُكَارٰى حَتّٰى تَعۡلَمُوۡا مَا تَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَلَا جُنُبًا اِلَّا عَابِرِىۡ سَبِيۡلٍ حَتّٰى تَغۡتَسِلُوۡاؕ وَاِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مَّرۡضَىٰۤ اَوۡ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ اَوۡ جَآءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنۡكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡغَآٮِٕطِ اَوۡ لٰمَسۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَلَمۡ تَجِدُوۡا مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُوۡا صَعِيۡدًا طَيِّبًا فَامۡسَحُوۡا بِوُجُوۡهِكُمۡ وَاَيۡدِيۡكُمۡؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا غَفُوۡرًا
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola taqraboo assalata waantum sukarahatta taAAlamoo ma taqooloona walajunuban illa AAabiree sabeelin hattataghtasiloo wa-in kuntum marda aw AAala safarin awjaa ahadun minkum mina algha-iti aw lamastumuannisaa falam tajidoo maan fatayammamoo saAAeedantayyiban famsahoo biwujoohikum waaydeekuminna Allaha kana AAafuwwan ghafoora

اے ایمان والو! تم نشہ کی حالت میں نماز کے قریب مت جاؤ یہاں تک کہ تم وہ بات سمجھنے لگو جو کہتے ہو اور نہ حالتِ جنابت میں (نماز کے قریب جاؤ) تا آنکہ تم غسل کر لو سوائے اس کے کہ تم سفر میں راستہ طے کر رہے ہو، اور اگر تم بیمار ہو یا سفر میں ہو یا تم میں سے کوئی قضائے حاجت سے لوٹے یا تم نے (اپنی) عورتوں سے مباشرت کی ہو پھر تم پانی نہ پاسکو تو تم پاک مٹی سے تیمم کر لو پس اپنے چہروں اور اپنے ہاتھوں پر مسح کر لیا کرو، بیشک اللہ معاف فرمانے والا بہت بخشنے والا ہے
— English
O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying or in a state of janabah, except those passing through [a place of prayer], until you have washed [your whole body]. And if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and find no water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]. Indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Forgiving.

— Transliteration
Alam tara ila allatheenayuzakkoona anfusahum bali Allahu yuzakkee man yashaowala yuthlamoona fateela

کیا آپ نے ایسے لوگوں کو نہیں دیکھا جو خود کو پاک ظاہر کرتے ہیں، بلکہ اللہ ہی جسے چاہتا ہے پاک فرماتا ہے اور ان پر ایک دھاگہ کے برابر بھی ظلم نہیں کیا جائے گا

Have you not seen those who claim themselves to be pure? Rather, Allah purifies whom He wills, and injustice is not done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside a date seed].

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِذَا قُمۡتُمۡ اِلَى الصَّلٰوةِ فَاغۡسِلُوۡا وُجُوۡهَكُمۡ وَاَيۡدِيَكُمۡ اِلَى الۡمَرَافِقِ وَامۡسَحُوۡا بِرُءُوۡسِكُمۡ وَاَرۡجُلَكُمۡ اِلَى الۡـكَعۡبَيۡنِؕ وَاِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ جُنُبًا فَاطَّهَّرُوۡاؕ وَاِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مَّرۡضَىٰۤ اَوۡ عَلٰى سَفَرٍ اَوۡ جَآءَ اَحَدٌ مِّنۡكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡغَآٮِٕطِ اَوۡ لٰمَسۡتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَلَمۡ تَجِدُوۡا مَآءً فَتَيَمَّمُوۡا صَعِيۡدًا طَيِّبًا فَامۡسَحُوۡا بِوُجُوۡهِكُمۡ وَاَيۡدِيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡهُؕ مَا يُرِيۡدُ اللّٰهُ لِيَجۡعَلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ حَرَجٍ وَّلٰـكِنۡ يُّرِيۡدُ لِيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ وَلِيُتِمَّ نِعۡمَتَهٗ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha qumtum ila assalati faghsiloowujoohakum waaydiyakum ila almarafiqi wamsahoobiruoosikum waarjulakum ila alkaAAbayni wa-in kuntumjunuban fattahharoo wa-in kuntum marda awAAala safarin aw jaa ahadun minkum mina algha-itiaw lamastumu annisaa falam tajidoo maanfatayammamoo saAAeedan tayyiban famsahoobiwujoohikum waaydeekum minhu ma yureedu AllahuliyajAAala AAalaykum min harajin walakin yureeduliyutahhirakum waliyutimma niAAmatahu AAalaykumlaAAallakum tashkuroon

اے ایمان والو! جب (تمہارا) نماز کیلئے کھڑے (ہونے کا ارادہ) ہو تو (وضو کے لئے) اپنے چہروں کو اور اپنے ہاتھوں کو کہنیوں سمیت دھو لو اور اپنے سروں کا مسح کرو اور اپنے پاؤں (بھی) ٹخنوں سمیت (دھو لو)، اور اگر تم حالتِ جنابت میں ہو تو (نہا کر) خوب پاک ہو جاؤ، اور اگر تم بیمار ہو یا سفر میں ہو یا تم سے کوئی رفعِ حاجت سے (فارغ ہو کر) آیا ہو یا تم نے عورتوں سے قربت (مجامعت) کی ہو پھر تم پانی نہ پاؤ تو (اندریں صورت) پاک مٹی سے تیمم کر لیا کرو۔ پس (تیمم یہ ہے کہ) اس (پاک مٹی) سے اپنے چہروں اور اپنے (پورے) ہاتھوں کا مسح کر لو۔ اﷲ نہیں چاہتا کہ وہ تمہارے اوپر کسی قسم کی سختی کرے لیکن وہ (یہ) چاہتا ہے کہ تمہیں پاک کردے اور تم پر اپنی نعمت پوری کر دے تاکہ تم شکر گزار بن جاؤ

O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الرَّسُوۡلُ لَا يَحۡزُنۡكَ الَّذِيۡنَ يُسَارِعُوۡنَ فِىۡ الۡكُفۡرِ مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ قَالُوۡۤا اٰمَنَّا بِاَفۡوَاهِهِمۡ وَلَمۡ تُؤۡمِنۡ قُلُوۡبُهُمۡ ۛۚ وَمِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ هَادُوۡا ۛۚ سَمّٰعُوۡنَ لِلۡكَذِبِ سَمّٰعُوۡنَ لِقَوۡمٍ اٰخَرِيۡنَۙ لَمۡ يَاۡتُوۡكَؕ يُحَرِّفُوۡنَ الۡـكَلِمَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَوَاضِعِهٖۚ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ اِنۡ اُوۡتِيۡتُمۡ هٰذَا فَخُذُوۡهُ وَاِنۡ لَّمۡ تُؤۡتَوۡهُ فَاحۡذَرُوۡاؕ وَمَنۡ يُّرِدِ اللّٰهُ فِتۡنَـتَهٗ فَلَنۡ تَمۡلِكَ لَهٗ مِنَ اللّٰهِ شَيْئًا ؕ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ الَّذِيۡنَ لَمۡ يُرِدِ اللّٰهُ اَنۡ يُّطَهِّرَ قُلُوۡبَهُمۡؕ لَهُمۡ فِىۡ الدُّنۡيَا خِزۡىٌ ۚۖ وَّلَهُمۡ فِىۡ الۡاٰخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha arrasoolu layahzunka allatheena yusariAAoona fee alkufrimina allatheena qaloo amanna bi-afwahihimwalam tu/min quloobuhum wamina allatheena hadoosammaAAoona lilkathibi sammaAAoona liqawmin akhareenalam ya/tooka yuharrifoona alkalima min baAAdi mawadiAAihiyaqooloona in ooteetum hatha fakhuthoohu wa-in lamtu/tawhu fahtharoo waman yuridi Allahufitnatahu falan tamlika lahu mina Allahi shay-an ola-ikaallatheena lam yuridi Allahu an yutahhiraquloobahum lahum fee addunya khizyun walahum feeal-akhirati AAathabun AAatheem

اے رسول! وہ لوگ آپ کور نجیدہ خاطر نہ کریں جو کفر میں تیزی (سے پیش قدمی) کرتے ہیں ان میں (ایک) وہ (منافق) ہیں جو اپنے منہ سے کہتے ہیں کہ ہم ایمان لائے حالانکہ ان کے دل ایمان نہیں لائے، اور ان میں (دوسرے) یہودی ہیں، (یہ) جھوٹی باتیں بنانے کے لئے (آپ کو)خوب سنتے ہیں (یہ حقیقت میں) دوسرے لوگوں کے لئے (جاسوسی کی خاطر) سننے والے ہیں جو (ابھی تک) آپ کے پاس نہیں آئے، (یہ وہ لوگ ہیں) جو (اﷲ کے) کلمات کوان کے مواقع (مقرر ہونے) کے بعد (بھی) بدل دیتے ہیں (اور) کہتے ہیں: اگر تمہیں یہ (حکم جو ان کی پسند کا ہو) دیا جائے تو اسے اختیار کرلو اور اگر تمہیں یہ (حکم) نہ دیا جائے تو(اس سے) احتراز کرو، اور اﷲ جس شخص کی گمراہی کا ارادہ فرمالے تو تم اس کے لئے اﷲ (کے حکم کو روکنے) کا ہرگز کوئی اختیار نہیں رکھتے۔ یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے دلوں کو پاک کرنے کااﷲ نے ارادہ (ہی) نہیں فرمایا۔ ان کے لئے دنیا میں (کفر کی) ذلّت ہے اور ان کے لئے آخرت میں بڑا عذاب ہے

O Messenger, let them not grieve you who hasten into disbelief of those who say, "We believe" with their mouths, but their hearts believe not, and from among the Jews. [They are] avid listeners to falsehood, listening to another people who have not come to you. They distort words beyond their [proper] usages, saying "If you are given this, take it; but if you are not given it, then beware." But he for whom Allah intends fitnah - never will you possess [power to do] for him a thing against Allah. Those are the ones for whom Allah does not intend to purify their hearts. For them in this world is disgrace, and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.

اِذۡ يُغَشِّيۡكُمُ النُّعَاسَ اَمَنَةً مِّنۡهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً لِّيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ بِهٖ وَيُذۡهِبَ عَنۡكُمۡ رِجۡزَ الشَّيۡطٰنِ وَلِيَرۡبِطَ عَلٰى قُلُوۡبِكُمۡ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ الۡاَقۡدَامَؕ
— Transliteration
Ith yughashsheekumu annuAAasaamanatan minhu wayunazzilu AAalaykum mina assama-imaan liyutahhirakum bihi wayuthhiba AAankumrijza ashshaytani waliyarbita AAalaquloobikum wayuthabbita bihi al-aqdam

جب اس نے اپنی طرف سے (تمہیں) راحت و سکون (فراہم کرنے) کے لئے تم پر غنودگی طاری فرما دی اور تم پر آسمان سے پانی اتارا تاکہ اس کے ذریعے تمہیں (ظاہری و باطنی) طہارت عطا فرما دے اور تم سے شیطان (کے باطل وسوسوں) کی نجاست کو دور کردے اور تمہارے دلوں کو (قوتِ یقین) سے مضبوط کر دے اور اس سے تمہارے قدم (خوب) جما دے

[Remember] when He overwhelmed you with drowsiness [giving] security from Him and sent down upon you from the sky, rain by which to purify you and remove from you the evil [suggestions] of Satan and to make steadfast your hearts and plant firmly thereby your feet.

خُذۡ مِنۡ اَمۡوَالِهِمۡ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمۡ وَتُزَكِّيۡهِمۡ بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيۡهِمۡؕ اِنَّ صَلٰوتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَّهُمۡؕ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيۡعٌ عَلِيۡمٌ

Khuth min amwalihim sadaqatantutahhiruhum watuzakkeehim biha wasalliAAalayhim inna salataka sakanun lahum wallahusameeAAun AAaleem

Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

لَا تَقُمۡ فِيۡهِ اَبَدًا ؕ لَمَسۡجِدٌ اُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقۡوٰى مِنۡ اَوَّلِ يَوۡمٍ اَحَقُّ اَنۡ تَقُوۡمَ فِيۡهِؕ فِيۡهِ رِجَالٌ يُّحِبُّوۡنَ اَنۡ يَّتَطَهَّرُوۡا ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يُحِبُّ الۡمُطَّهِّرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
La taqum feehi abadan lamasjidunossisa AAala attaqwa min awwali yawmin ahaqquan taqooma feehi feehi rijalun yuhibboona an yatatahharoowallahu yuhibbu almuttahhireen

(اے حبیب!) آپ اس (مسجد کے نام پر بنائی گئی عمارت) میں کبھی بھی کھڑے نہ ہوں۔ البتہ وہ مسجد، جس کی بنیاد پہلے ہی دن سے تقوٰی پر رکھی گئی ہے، حق دار ہے کہ آپ اس میں قیام فرما ہوں۔ اس میں ایسے لوگ ہیں جو (ظاہراً و باطناً) پاک رہنے کو پسند کرتے ہیں، اور اﷲ طہارت شعار لوگوں سے محبت فرماتا ہے

Do not stand [for prayer] within it - ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves.

وَكَذٰلِكَ بَعَثۡنٰهُمۡ لِيَتَسَآءَلُوۡا بَيۡنَهُمۡؕ قَالَ قَآٮِٕلٌ مِّنۡهُمۡ كَمۡ لَبِثۡتُمۡؕ قَالُوۡا لَبِثۡنَا يَوۡمًا اَوۡ بَعۡضَ يَوۡمٍؕ قَالُوۡا رَبُّكُمۡ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا لَبِثۡتُمۡؕ فَابۡعَثُوۡۤا اَحَدَكُمۡ بِوَرِقِكُمۡ هٰذِهٖۤ اِلَى الۡمَدِيۡنَةِ فَلۡيَنۡظُرۡ اَيُّهَاۤ اَزۡكٰى طَعَامًا فَلۡيَاۡتِكُمۡ بِرِزۡقٍ مِّنۡهُ وَلۡيَتَلَطَّفۡ وَلَا يُشۡعِرَنَّ بِكُمۡ اَحَدًا
— Transliteration
Wakathalika baAAathnahumliyatasaaloo baynahum qala qa-ilun minhumkam labithtum qaloo labithna yawman aw baAAdayawmin qaloo rabbukum aAAlamu bima labithtum fabAAathooahadakum biwariqikum hathihi ila almadeenatifalyanthur ayyuha azka taAAamanfalya/tikum birizqin minhu walyatalattaf walayushAAiranna bikum ahada

اور اسی طرح ہم نے انہیں اٹھا دیا تاکہ وہ آپس میں دریافت کریں، (چنانچہ) ان میں سے ایک کہنے والے نے کہا: تم (یہاں) کتنا عرصہ ٹھہرے ہو؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہم (یہاں) ایک دن یا اس کا (بھی) کچھ حصہ ٹھہرے ہیں، (بالآخر) کہنے لگے: تمہارا رب ہی بہتر جانتا ہے کہ تم (یہاں) کتنا عرصہ ٹھہرے ہو، سو تم اپنے میں سے کسی ایک کو اپنا یہ سکہ دے کر شہر کی طرف بھیجو پھر وہ دیکھے کہ کون سا کھانا زیادہ حلال اور پاکیزہ ہے تو اس میں سے کچھ کھانا تمہارے پاس لے آئے اور اسے چاہئے کہ (آنے جانے اور خریدنے میں) آہستگی اور نرمی سے کام لے اور کسی ایک شخص کو (بھی) تمہاری خبر نہ ہونے دے

And similarly, We awakened them that they might question one another. Said a speaker from among them, "How long have you remained [here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let no one be aware of you.

فَاَرَدۡنَاۤ اَنۡ يُّبۡدِلَهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا خَيۡرًا مِّنۡهُ زَكٰوةً وَّاَقۡرَبَ رُحۡمًا

Faaradna an yubdilahumarabbuhuma khayran minhu zakatan waaqraba ruhma

پس ہم نے ارادہ کیا کہ ان کا رب انہیں (ایسا) بدل عطا فرمائے جو پاکیزگی میں (بھی) اس (لڑکے) سے بہتر ہو اور شفقت و رحم دلی میں (بھی والدین سے) قریب تر ہو

So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.

فَانْطَلَقَا حَتّٰۤى اِذَا لَقِيَا غُلٰمًا فَقَتَلَهٗۙ قَالَ اَقَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسًا زَكِيَّةًۢ بِغَيۡرِ نَفۡسٍ ؕلَّـقَدۡ جِئۡتَ شَيْئًا نُّكۡرًا
— Transliteration
Fantalaqa hattaitha laqiya ghulaman faqatalahu qalaaqatalta nafsan zakiyyatan bighayri nafsin laqad ji/ta shay-annukra

پھر وہ دونوں چل دیئے یہاں تک کہ دونوں ایک لڑکے سے ملے تو (خضر علیہ السلام نے) اسے قتل کر ڈالا، موسٰی (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: کیا آپ نے بے گناہ جان کو بغیر کسی جان (کے بدلہ) کے قتل کر دیا ہے، بیشک آپ نے بڑا ہی سخت کام کیا ہے

So they set out, until when they met a boy, al-Khidh r killed him. [Moses] said, "Have you killed a pure soul for other than [having killed] a soul? You have certainly done a deplorable thing."

جَنّٰتُ عَدۡنٍ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهَا الۡاَنۡهٰرُ خٰلِدِيۡنَ فِيۡهَاؕ وَذٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ مَنۡ تَزَكّٰى
— Transliteration
Jannatu AAadnin tajree min tahtihaal-anharu khalideena feeha wathalikajazao man tazakka

(وہ) سدا بہار باغات ہیں جن کے نیچے سے نہریں رواں ہیں (وہ) ان میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں، اور یہ اس شخص کا صلہ ہے جو (کفر و معصیت کی آلودگی سے) پاک ہو گیا

Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself.

And [mention, O Muhammad], when We designated for Abraham the site of the House, [saying], "Do not associate anything with Me and purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who stand [in prayer] and those who bow and prostrate.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَتَّبِعُوۡا خُطُوٰتِ الشَّيۡطٰنِؕ وَمَنۡ يَّتَّبِعۡ خُطُوٰتِ الشَّيۡطٰنِ فَاِنَّهٗ يَاۡمُرُ بِالۡـفَحۡشَآءِ وَالۡمُنۡكَرِؕ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهٗ مَا زَكٰى مِنۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ اَحَدٍ اَبَدًا وَّلٰـكِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُزَكِّىۡ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُؕ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيۡعٌ عَلِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tattabiAAoo khutuwati ashshaytaniwaman yattabiAA khutuwati ashshaytanifa-innahu ya/muru bilfahsha-i walmunkariwalawla fadlu Allahi AAalaykum warahmatuhuma zaka minkum min ahadin abadan walakinnaAllaha yuzakkee man yashao wallahusameeAAun AAaleem

اے ایمان والو! شیطان کے راستوں پر نہ چلو، اور جو شخص شیطان کے نقوشِ قدم پر چلتا ہے تو وہ یقیناً بے حیائی اور برے کاموں (کے فروغ) کا حکم دیتا ہے، اور اگر تم پر اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو تم میں سے کوئی شخص بھی کبھی (اس گناہِ تہمت کے داغ سے) پاک نہ ہو سکتا لیکن اللہ جسے چاہتا ہے پاک فرما دیتا ہے، اور اللہ خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے

O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

And if you do not find anyone therein, do not enter them until permission has been given you. And if it is said to you, "Go back," then go back; it is purer for you. And Allah is Knowing of what you do.

Qul lilmu/mineena yaghuddoo min absarihumwayahfathoo furoojahum thalika azkalahum inna Allaha khabeerun bima yasnaAAoon

Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do.

وَقَرۡنَ فِىۡ بُيُوۡتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجۡنَ تَبَرُّجَ الۡجَاهِلِيَّةِ الۡاُوۡلٰى وَاَقِمۡنَ الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتِيۡنَ الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَطِعۡنَ اللّٰهَ وَرَسُوۡلَهٗ ؕ اِنَّمَا يُرِيۡدُ اللّٰهُ لِيُذۡهِبَ عَنۡكُمُ الرِّجۡسَ اَهۡلَ الۡبَيۡتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمۡ تَطۡهِيۡرًاۚ
— Transliteration
Waqarna fee buyootikunna walatabarrajna tabarruja aljahiliyyati al-oola waaqimnaassalata waateena azzakatawaatiAAna Allaha warasoolahu innama yureeduAllahu liyuthhiba AAankumu arrijsa ahlaalbayti wayutahhirakum tatheera

اور اپنے گھروں میں سکون سے قیام پذیر رہنا اور پرانی جاہلیت کی طرح زیب و زینت کا اظہار مت کرنا، اور نماز قائم رکھنا اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہنا اور اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی اطاعت گزاری میں رہنا، بس اللہ یہی چاہتا ہے کہ اے (رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے) اہلِ بیت! تم سے ہر قسم کے گناہ کا میل (اور شک و نقص کی گرد تک) دُور کر دے اور تمہیں (کامل) طہارت سے نواز کر بالکل پاک صاف کر دے

And abide in your houses and do not display yourselves as [was] the display of the former times of ignorance. And establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah intends only to remove from you the impurity [of sin], O people of the [Prophet's] household, and to purify you with [extensive] purification.

وَلَا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌ وِّزۡرَ اُخۡرَىٰؕ وَاِنۡ تَدۡعُ مُثۡقَلَةٌ اِلٰى حِمۡلِهَا لَا يُحۡمَلۡ مِنۡهُ شَىۡءٌ وَّلَوۡ كَانَ ذَا قُرۡبٰى ؕ اِنَّمَا تُنۡذِرُ الَّذِيۡنَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ بِالۡغَيۡبِ وَاَقَامُوۡا الصَّلٰوةَ ؕ وَمَنۡ تَزَكّٰى فَاِنَّمَا يَتَزَكّٰى لِنَفۡسِه ؕ وَاِلَى اللّٰهِ الۡمَصِيۡرُ
— Transliteration
Wala taziru waziratun wizraokhra wa-in tadAAu muthqalatun ila himlihala yuhmal minhu shay-on walaw kana thaqurba innama tunthiru allatheenayakhshawna rabbahum bilghaybi waaqamoo assalatawaman tazakka fa-innama yatazakka linafsihiwa-ila Allahi almaseer

اور کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والا دوسرے کا بارِ (گناہ) نہ اٹھا سکے گا، اور کوئی بوجھ میں دبا ہوا (دوسرے کو) اپنا بوجھ بٹانے کے لئے بلائے گا تو اس سے کچھ بھی بوجھ نہ اٹھایا جا سکے گا خواہ قریبی رشتہ دار ہی ہو، (اے حبیب!) آپ ان ہی لوگوں کو ڈر سناتے ہیں جو اپنے رب سے بن دیکھے ڈرتے ہیں اور نماز قائم کرتے ہیں، اور جو کوئی پاکیزگی حاصل کرتا ہے وہ اپنے ہی فائدہ کے لئے پاک ہوتا ہے، اور اﷲ ہی کی طرف پلٹ کر جانا ہے

And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And if a heavily laden soul calls [another] to [carry some of] its load, nothing of it will be carried, even if he should be a close relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord unseen and have established prayer. And whoever purifies himself only purifies himself for [the benefit of] his soul. And to Allah is the [final] destination.

اَلَّذِيۡنَ يَجۡتَنِبُوۡنَ كَبٰٓٮِٕرَ الۡاِثۡمِ وَالۡفوَاحِشَ اِلَّا اللَّمَمَؕ اِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَاسِعُ الۡمَغۡفِرَةِؕ هُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ اِذۡ اَنۡشَاَكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَاِذۡ اَنۡتُمۡ اَجِنَّةٌ فِىۡ بُطُوۡنِ اُمَّهٰتِكُمۡۚ فَلَا تُزَكُّوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَكُمۡ ؕ هُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ اتَّقٰى
— Transliteration
Allatheena yajtaniboona kaba-iraal-ithmi walfawahisha illa allamama innarabbaka wasiAAu almaghfirati huwa aAAlamu bikum ithanshaakum mina al-ardi wa-ith antum ajinnatun feebutooni ommahatikum fala tuzakkoo anfusakumhuwa aAAlamu bimani ittaqa

جو لوگ چھوٹے گناہوں (اور لغزشوں) کے سوا بڑے گناہوں اور بے حیائی کے کاموں سے پرہیز کرتے ہیں، بیشک آپ کا رب بخشش کی بڑی گنجائش رکھنے والا ہے، وہ تمہیں خوب جانتا ہے جب اس نے تمہاری زندگی کی ابتداء اور نشو و نما زمین (یعنی مٹی) سے کی تھی اور جبکہ تم اپنی ماؤں کے پیٹ میں جَنیِن (یعنی حمل) کی صورت میں تھے، پس تم اپنے آپ کو بڑا پاک و صاف مَت جتایا کرو، وہ خوب جانتا ہے کہ (اصل) پرہیزگار کون ہےo

Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.

— Transliteration
Huwa allathee baAAatha feeal-ommiyyeena rasoolan minhum yatloo AAalayhim ayatihiwayuzakkeehim wayuAAallimuhumu alkitaba walhikmatawa-in kanoo min qablu lafee dalalin mubeen

It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error -
