If good befalls you, it distresses them; but if disaster strikes you, they say, "We took our matter [in hand] before," and turn away while they are rejoicing.

And whenever a surah is revealed, there are among the hypocrites those who say, "Which of you has this increased faith?" As for those who believed, it has increased them in faith, while they are rejoicing.

Allahu yabsutu arrizqaliman yashao wayaqdiru wafarihoo bilhayatiaddunya wama alhayatu addunyafee al-akhirati illa mataAA

Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. And they rejoice in the worldly life, while the worldly life is not, compared to the Hereafter, except [brief] enjoyment.

اور جن لوگوں کو ہم کتاب (تورات) دے چکے ہیں (اگر وہ صحیح مومن ہیں تو) وہ اس (قرآن) سے خوش ہوتے ہیں جو آپ کی طرف نازل کیا گیا ہے اور ان (ہی کے) فرقوں میں سے بعض ایسے بھی ہیں جو اس کے کچھ حصہ کا انکار کرتے ہیں، فرما دیجئے کہ بس مجھے تو یہی حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں اﷲ کی عبادت کروں اور اس کے ساتھ (کسی کو) شریک نہ ٹھہراؤں، اسی کی طرف میں بلاتا ہوں اور اسی کی طرف مجھے لوٹ کر جانا ہے

And [the believers among] those to whom We have given the [previous] Scripture rejoice at what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], but among the [opposing] factions are those who deny part of it. Say, "I have only been commanded to worship Allah and not associate [anything] with Him. To Him I invite, and to Him is my return."

In the victory of Allah. He gives victory to whom He wills, and He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَعۡدَ اللّٰهِؕ لَا يُخۡلِفُ اللّٰهُ وَعۡدَهٗ وَلٰـكِنَّ اَكۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
WaAAda Allahi la yukhlifu AllahuwaAAdahu walakinna akthara annasi layaAAlamoon

(یہ تو) اﷲ کا وعدہ ہے، اﷲ اپنے وعدہ کے خلاف نہیں کرتا، لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے

[It is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know.
يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ظَاهِرًا مِّنَ الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا ۖۚ وَهُمۡ عَنِ الۡاٰخِرَةِ هُمۡ غٰفِلُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
YaAAlamoona thahiranmina alhayati addunya wahum AAanial-akhirati hum ghafiloon

وہ (تو) دنیا کی ظاہری زندگی کو (ہی) جانتے ہیں اور وہ لوگ آخرت (کی حقیقی زندگی) سے غافل و بے خبر ہیں

They know what is apparent of the worldly life, but they, of the Hereafter, are unaware.
اَوَلَمۡ يَتَفَكَّرُوۡا فِىۡۤ اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَاۤ اِلَّا بِالۡحَقِّ وَاَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىؕ وَاِنَّ كَثِيۡرًا مِّنَ النَّاسِ بِلِقَآئِ رَبِّهِمۡ لَـكٰفِرُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Awa lam yatafakkaroo fee anfusihim makhalaqa Allahu assamawati wal-ardawama baynahuma illa bilhaqqiwaajalin musamman wa-inna katheeran mina annasibiliqa-i rabbihim lakafiroon

کیا انہوں نے اپنے مَن میں کبھی غور نہیں کیا کہ اﷲ نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو اور جوکچھ ان دونوں کے درمیان ہے پیدا نہیں فرمایا مگر (نظامِ) حق اور مقرّرہ مدت (کے دورانیے) کے ساتھ، اور بیشک بہت سے لوگ اپنے رب کی ملاقات کے مُنکِر ہیں

Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.

بے شک جن لوگوں نے کہا: ہمارا رب اﷲ ہے، پھر وہ (اِس پر مضبوطی سے) قائم ہوگئے، تو اُن پر فرشتے اترتے ہیں (اور کہتے ہیں) کہ تم خوف نہ کرو اور نہ غم کرو اور تم جنت کی خوشیاں مناؤ جس کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا تھا

Indeed, those who have said, "Our Lord is Allah " and then remained on a right course - the angels will descend upon them, [saying], "Do not fear and do not grieve but receive good tidings of Paradise, which you were promised.
