Qaloo odAAu lana rabbakayubayyin lana ma lawnuha qala innahuyaqoolu innaha baqaratun safrao faqiAAunlawnuha tasurru annathireen

وہ (پھر) بولے: اپنے رب سے ہمارے حق میں دعا کریں وہ ہمارے لئے واضح کر دے کہ اس کا رنگ کیسا ہو؟ (موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے) کہا: وہ فرماتا ہے کہ وہ گائے زرد رنگ کی ہو، اس کی رنگت خوب گہری ہو (ایسی جاذبِ نظر ہو کہ) دیکھنے والوں کو بہت بھلی لگے

Wala junaha AAalaykum feemaAAarradtum bihi min khitbati annisa-iaw aknantum fee anfusikum AAalima Allahu annakum satathkuroonahunnawalakin la tuwaAAidoohunna sirran illaan taqooloo qawlan maAAroofan wala taAAzimoo AAuqdata annikahihatta yablugha alkitabu ajalahu waAAlamooanna Allaha yaAAlamu ma fee anfusikum fahtharoohuwaAAlamoo anna Allaha ghafoorun haleem

اور تم پر اس بات میں کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ (دورانِ عدت بھی) ان عورتوں کو اشارۃً نکاح کا پیغام دے دو یا (یہ خیال) اپنے دلوں میں چھپا رکھو، اﷲ جانتا ہے کہ تم عنقریب ان سے ذکر کرو گے مگر ان سے خفیہ طور پر بھی (ایسا) وعدہ نہ لو سوائے اس کے کہ تم فقط شریعت کی (رُو سے کنایۃً) معروف بات کہہ دو، اور (اس دوران) عقدِ نکاح کا پختہ عزم نہ کرو یہاں تک کہ مقررہ عدت اپنی انتہا کو پہنچ جائے، اور جان لو کہ اﷲ تمہارے دلوں کی بات کو بھی جانتا ہے تو اس سے ڈرتے رہا کرو، اور (یہ بھی) جان لو کہ اﷲ بڑا بخشنے والا بڑا حلم والا ہے

There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. Allah knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end. And know that Allah knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

No good is there in much of their private conversation, except for those who enjoin charity or that which is right or conciliation between people. And whoever does that seeking means to the approval of Allah - then We are going to give him a great reward.

Fatara allatheena feequloobihim maradun yusariAAoona feehim yaqooloonanakhsha an tuseebana da-iratun faAAasaAllahu an ya/tiya bilfathi aw amrin minAAindihi fayusbihoo AAala ma asarroofee anfusihim nadimeen

سو آپ ایسے لوگوں کو دیکھیں گے جن کے دلوں میں (نفاق اور ذہنوں میں غلامی کی) بیماری ہے کہ وہ ان (یہود و نصارٰی) میں (شامل ہونے کے لئے) دوڑتے ہیں، کہتے ہیں: ہمیں خوف ہے کہ ہم پر کوئی گردش (نہ) آجائے (یعنی ان کے ساتھ ملنے سے شاید ہمیں تحفظ مل جائے)، تو بعید نہیں کہ اﷲ (واقعۃً مسلمانوں کی) فتح لے آئے یا اپنی طرف سے کوئی امر (فتح و کامرانی کا نشان بنا کر بھیج دے) تو یہ لوگ اس (منافقانہ سوچ) پر جسے یہ اپنے دلوں میں چھپائے ہوئے ہیں شرمندہ ہوکر رہ جائیں گے

So you see those in whose hearts is disease hastening into [association with] them, saying, "We are afraid a misfortune may strike us." But perhaps Allah will bring conquest or a decision from Him, and they will become, over what they have been concealing within themselves, regretful.

Unquestionably, they the disbelievers turn away their breasts to hide themselves from Him. Unquestionably, [even] when they cover themselves in their clothing, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts.

وَالَّذِيۡنَ صَبَرُوا ابۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَاَقَامُوۡا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاَنۡفَقُوۡا مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰهُمۡ سِرًّا وَّعَلَانِيَةً وَّيَدۡرَءُوۡنَ بِالۡحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عُقۡبَى الدَّارِۙ
— Transliteration
Wallatheena sabarooibtighaa wajhi rabbihim waaqamoo assalatawaanfaqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatanwayadraoona bilhasanati assayyi-ata ola-ikalahum AAuqba addar

اور جو لوگ اپنے رب کی رضاجوئی کے لئے صبر کرتے ہیں اور نماز قائم رکھتے ہیں اور جو رزق ہم نے انہیں دیا ہے اس میں سے پوشیدہ اور اعلانیہ (دونوں طرح) خرچ کرتے ہیں اور نیکی کے ذریعہ برائی کو دور کرتے رہتے ہیں یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے لئے آخرت کا (حسین) گھر ہے

And those who are patient, seeking the countenance of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home -

Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.

Daraba Allahu mathalan AAabdanmamlookan la yaqdiru AAala shay-in waman razaqnahuminna rizqan hasanan fahuwa yunfiqu minhu sirranwajahran hal yastawoona alhamdu lillahi balaktharuhum la yaAAlamoon

اللہ نے ایک مثال بیان فرمائی ہے (کہ) ایک غلام ہے (جو کسی کی) ملکیت میں ہے (خود) کسی چیز پر قدرت نہیں رکھتا اور (دوسرا) وہ شخص ہے جسے ہم نے اپنی طرف سے عمدہ روزی عطا فرمائی ہے سو وہ اس میں سے پوشیدہ اور ظاہر خرچ کرتا ہے، کیا وہ برابر ہو سکتے ہیں، سب تعریفیں اللہ کے لئے ہیں، بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر (بنیادی حقیقت کو بھی) نہیں جانتے

Allah presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allah! But most of them do not know.

وَاِنۡ تَجۡهَرۡ بِالۡقَوۡلِ فَاِنَّهٗ يَعۡلَمُ السِّرَّ وَاَخۡفٰى

اور اگر آپ ذکر و دعا میں جہر (یعنی آواز بلند) کریں (تو بھی کوئی حرج نہیں) وہ تو سِرّ (یعنی دلوں کے رازوں) اور اخفی (یعنی سب سے زیادہ مخفی بھیدوں) کو بھی جانتا ہے (تو بلند التجاؤں کو کیوں نہیں سنے گا)

And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden.

With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?"

پھر کمزور لوگ متکبرّوں سے کہیں گے: بلکہ (تمہارے) رات دن کے مَکر ہی نے (ہمیں روکا تھا) جب تم ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ ہم اللہ سے کفر کریں اور ہم اس کے لئے شریک ٹھہرائیں، اور وہ (ایک دوسرے سے) ندامت چھپائیں گے جب وہ عذاب دیکھ لیں گے اور ہم کافروں کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈال دیں گے، اور انہیں اُن کے کئے کا ہی بدلہ دیا جائے گا

Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals." But they will [all] confide regret when they see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do?

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا لَا تَتَّخِذُوۡا عَدُوِّىۡ وَعَدُوَّكُمۡ اَوۡلِيَآءَ تُلۡقُوۡنَ اِلَيۡهِمۡ بِالۡمَوَدَّةِ وَقَدۡ كَفَرُوۡا بِمَا جَآءَكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡحَـقِّۚ يُخۡرِجُوۡنَ الرَّسُوۡلَ وَاِيَّاكُمۡ اَنۡ تُؤۡمِنُوۡا بِاللّٰهِ رَبِّكُمۡؕ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ خَرَجۡتُمۡ جِهَادًا فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِىۡ وَابۡتِغَآءَ مَرۡضَاتِىۡ تُسِرُّوۡنَ اِلَيۡهِمۡ بِالۡمَوَدَّةِۖ وَاَنَا اَعۡلَمُ بِمَاۤ اَخۡفَيۡتُمۡ وَمَاۤ اَعۡلَنۡتُمۡؕ وَمَنۡ يَّفۡعَلۡهُ مِنۡكُمۡ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ سَوَآءَ السَّبِيۡلِ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoola tattakhithoo AAaduwwee waAAaduwwakum awliyaatulqoona ilayhim bilmawaddati waqad kafaroo bima jaakummina alhaqqi yukhrijoona arrasoola wa-iyyakuman tu/minoo billahi rabbikum in kuntum kharajtumjihadan fee sabeelee wabtighaa mardateetusirroona ilayhim bilmawaddati waana aAAlamu bimaakhfaytum wama aAAlantum waman yafAAalhu minkum faqad dallasawaa assabeel

اے ایمان والو! تم میرے اور اپنے دشمنوں کو دوست نہ بناؤ تم (اپنے) دوستی کے باعث اُن تک خبریں پہنچاتے ہو حالانکہ وہ اس حق کے ہی مُنکر ہیں جو تمہارے پاس آیا ہے، وہ رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو اور تم کو اس وجہ سے (تمہارے وطن سے) نکالتے ہیں کہ تم اللہ پر جو تمہارا پروردگار ہے، ایمان لے آئے ہو۔ اگر تم میری راہ میں جہاد کرنے اور میری رضا تلاش کرنے کے لئے نکلے ہو (تو پھر اُن سے دوستی نہ رکھو) تم اُن کی طرف دوستی کے خفیہ پیغام بھیجتے ہو حالانکہ میں خوب جانتا ہوں جو کچھ تم چھپاتے ہو اور جو کچھ تم آشکار کرتے ہو، اور جو شخص بھی تم میں سے یہ (حرکت) کرے سو وہ سیدھی راہ سے بھٹک گیا ہےo

O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth, having driven out the Prophet and yourselves [only] because you believe in Allah, your Lord. If you have come out for jihad in My cause and seeking means to My approval, [take them not as friends]. You confide to them affection, but I am most knowing of what you have concealed and what you have declared. And whoever does it among you has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

— Transliteration
Wa-ith asarra annabiyyu ilabaAAdi azwajihi hadeethan falammanabbaat bihi waathharahu Allahu AAalayhiAAarrafa baAAdahu waaAArada AAan baAAdinfalamma nabbaaha bihi qalat man anbaaka hathaqala nabbaaniya alAAaleemu alkhabeer

اور جب نبئ (مکرّم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے اپنی ایک زوجہ سے ایک رازدارانہ بات ارشاد فرمائی، پھر جب وہ اُس (بات) کا ذکر کر بیٹھیں اور اللہ نے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر اسے ظاہر فرما دیا تو نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انہیں اس کا کچھ حصہ جِتا دیا اور کچھ حصہ (بتانے) سے چشم پوشی فرمائی، پھر جب نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے انہیں اِس کی خبر دے دی (کہ آپ راز اِفشاء کر بیٹھی ہیں) تو وہ بولیں: آپ کو یہ کس نے بتا دیا ہے؟ نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) نے فرمایا کہ مجھے بڑے علم والے بڑی آگاہی والے (رب) نے بتا دیا ہےo

And [remember] when the Prophet confided to one of his wives a statement; and when she informed [another] of it and Allah showed it to him, he made known part of it and ignored a part. And when he informed her about it, she said, "Who told you this?" He said, "I was informed by the Knowing, the Acquainted."
