Rabbana wajAAalnamuslimayni laka wamin thurriyyatina ommatanmuslimatan laka waarina manasikana watubAAalayna innaka anta attawwabu arraheem

کیا تم (اس وقت) حاضر تھے جب یعقوب (علیہ السلام) کو موت آئی، جب انہوں نے اپنے بیٹوں سے پوچھا: تم میرے (انتقال کے) بعد کس کی عبادت کرو گے؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: ہم آپ کے معبود اور آپ کے باپ دادا ابراہیم اور اسماعیل اور اسحٰق (علیھم السلام) کے معبود کی عبادت کریں گے جو معبودِ یکتا ہے، اور ہم (سب) اسی کے فرماں بردار رہیں گے

Or were you witnesses when death approached Jacob, when he said to his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We will worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac - one God. And we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

Fa-in hajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiyalillahi wamani ittabaAAani waqul lillatheena ootooalkitaba walommiyyeena aaslamtum fa-inaslamoo faqadi ihtadaw wa-in tawallaw fa-innama AAalaykaalbalaghu wallahu baseerun bilAAibad

(اے حبیب!) اگر پھر بھی آپ سے جھگڑا کریں تو فرما دیں کہ میں نے اور جس نے (بھی) میری پیروی کی اپنا روئے نیاز اﷲ کے حضور جھکا دیا ہے، اور آپ اہلِ کتاب اور اَن پڑھ لوگوں سے فرما دیں: کیا تم بھی اﷲ کے حضور جھکتے ہو (یعنی اسلام قبول کرتے ہو)؟ پھر اگر وہ فرمانبرداری اختیار کر لیں تو وہ حقیقتاً ہدایت پا گئے، اور اگر منہ پھیر لیں تو آپ کے ذمہ فقط حکم پہنچا دینا ہی ہے، اور اﷲ بندوں کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہےo

So if they argue with you, say, "I have submitted myself to Allah [in Islam], and [so have] those who follow me." And say to those who were given the Scripture and [to] the unlearned, "Have you submitted yourselves?" And if they submit [in Islam], they are rightly guided; but if they turn away - then upon you is only the [duty of] notification. And Allah is Seeing of [His] servants.

Awa lamma asabatkum museebatunqad asabtum mithlayha qultum anna hathaqul huwa min AAindi anfusikum inna Allaha AAalakulli shay-in qadeer

Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves." Indeed, Allah is over all things competent.
وَمَاۤ اَصَابَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ الۡتَقَى الۡجَمۡعٰنِ فَبِاِذۡنِ اللّٰهِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِيۡنَۙ

Wama asabakum yawma iltaqaaljamAAani fabi-ithni Allahi waliyaAAlamaalmu/mineen

Wakaayyin min nabiyyin qatalamaAAahu ribbiyyoona katheerun fama wahanoo lima asabahumfee sabeeli Allahi wama daAAufoo wamaistakanoo wallahu yuhibbu assabireen

And how many a prophet [fought and] with him fought many religious scholars. But they never lost assurance due to what afflicted them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or submit. And Allah loves the steadfast.

But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within themselves no discomfort from what you have judged and submit in [full, willing] submission.

And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend.

فرما دیجئے: کیا میں کسی دوسرے کو (عبادت کے لئے اپنا) دوست بنا لوں (اس) اﷲ کے سوا جو آسمانوں اور زمین کا پیدا کرنے والا ہے اور وہ (سب کو) کھلاتا ہے اور (خود اسے) کھلایا نہیں جاتا۔ فرما دیں: مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں (اس کے حضور) سب سے پہلا (سرجھکانے والا) مسلمان ہوجاؤں اور (یہ بھی فرمادیا گیا ہے کہ) تم مشرکوں میں سے ہرگز نہ ہوجانا

Say, "Is it other than Allah I should take as a protector, Creator of the heavens and the earth, while it is He who feeds and is not fed?" Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, I have been commanded to be the first [among you] who submit [to Allah] and [was commanded], 'Do not ever be of the polytheists.' "

Qul anadAAoo min dooni Allahi mala yanfaAAuna wala yadurrunawanuraddu AAala aAAqabina baAAda ithhadana Allahu kallathee istahwat-huashshayateenu fee al-ardi hayranalahu as-habun yadAAoonahu ila alhudai/tina qul inna huda Allahi huwa alhudawaomirna linuslima lirabbi alAAalameen

فرما دیجئے: کیا ہم اﷲ کے سوا ایسی چیز کی عبادت کریں جو ہمیں نہ (تو) نفع پہنچا سکے اور نہ (ہی) ہمیں نقصان دے سکے اور اس کے بعد کہ اﷲ نے ہمیں ہدایت دے دی ہم اس شخص کی طرح اپنے الٹے پاؤں پھر جائیں جسے زمین میں شیطانوں نے راہ بھلا کر درماندہ و حیرت زدہ کر دیا ہو جس کے ساتھی اسے سیدھی راہ کی طرف بلا رہے ہوں کہ ہمارے پاس آجا (مگر اسے کچھ سوجھتا نہ ہو)، فرما دیں کہ اﷲ کی ہدایت ہی (حقیقی) ہدایت ہے، اور (اسی لیے) ہمیں (یہ) حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ ہم تمام جہانوں کے رب کی فرمانبرداری کریں

Say, "Shall we invoke instead of Allah that which neither benefits us nor harms us and be turned back on our heels after Allah has guided us? [We would then be] like one whom the devils enticed [to wander] upon the earth confused, [while] he has companions inviting him to guidance, [calling], 'Come to us.' " Say, "Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance; and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.

Fa-in tawallaytum fama saaltukum minajrin in ajriya illa AAala Allahi waomirtuan akoona mina almuslimeen

And if you turn away [from my advice] then no payment have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allah, and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims."

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims."

And Allah has made for you, from that which He has created, shadows and has made for you from the mountains, shelters and has made for you garments which protect you from the heat and garments which protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit [to Him].

And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.

And for all religion We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice] that they may mention the name of Allah over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muhammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]

And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts humbly submit to it. And indeed is Allah the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path.

— Transliteration
Wajahidoo fee Allahi haqqajihadihi huwa ijtabakum wama jaAAalaAAalaykum fee addeeni min harajin millata abeekumibraheema huwa sammakumu almuslimeena min qabluwafee hatha liyakoona arrasoolu shaheedanAAalaykum watakoonoo shuhadaa AAala annasifaaqeemoo assalata waatoo azzakatawaAAtasimoo billahi huwa mawlakumfaniAAma almawla waniAAma annaseer

اور اﷲ (کی محبت و طاعت اور اس کے دین کی اشاعت و اقامت) میں جہاد کرو جیسا کہ اس کے جہاد کا حق ہے۔ اس نے تمہیں منتخب فرما لیا ہے اور اس نے تم پر دین میں کوئی تنگی نہیں رکھی۔ (یہی) تمہارے باپ ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کا دین ہے۔ اس (اﷲ) نے تمہارا نام مسلمان رکھا ہے، اس سے پہلے (کی کتابوں میں) بھی اور اس (قرآن) میں بھی تاکہ یہ رسولِ (آخر الزماں صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تم پر گواہ ہو جائیں اور تم بنی نوع انسان پر گواہ ہو جاؤ، پس (اس مرتبہ پر فائز رہنے کے لئے) تم نماز قائم کیا کرو اور زکوٰۃ ادا کیا کرو اور اﷲ (کے دامن) کو مضبوطی سے تھامے رکھو، وہی تمہارا مددگار (و کارساز) ہے، پس وہ کتنا اچھا کارساز (ہے) اور کتنا اچھا مددگار ہے

And strive for Allah with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. Allah named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakah and hold fast to Allah. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.

Qeela laha odkhulee assarhafalamma raat-hu hasibat-hu lujjatan wakashafat AAansaqayha qala innahu sarhunmumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtunafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameen

اس (ملکہ) سے کہا گیا: اس محل کے صحن میں داخل ہو جا (جس کے نیچے نیلگوں پانی کی لہریں چلتی تھیں)، پھر جب ملکہ نے اس (مزیّن بلوریں فرش) کو دیکھا تو اسے گہرے پانی کا تالاب سمجھا اور اس نے (پائینچے اٹھا کر) اپنی دونوں پنڈلیاں کھول دیں، سلیمان (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: یہ تو محل کا شیشوں جڑا صحن ہے، اس (ملکہ) نے عرض کیا: اے میرے پروردگار! (میں اسی طرح فریبِ نظر میں مبتلا تھی) بیشک میں نے اپنی جان پر ظلم کیا اور اب میں سلیمان (علیہ السلام) کی معیّت میں اس اللہ کی فرمانبردار ہو گئی ہوں جو تمام جہانوں کا رب ہے

She was told, "Enter the palace." But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, "Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass." She said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, Lord of the worlds."

Wala tujadiloo ahla alkitabiilla billatee hiya ahsanu illa allatheenathalamoo minhum waqooloo amanna billatheeonzila ilayna waonzila ilaykum wa-ilahunawa-ilahukum wahidun wanahnu lahu muslimoon

And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him."

قُلۡ اِنِّىۡ نُهِيۡتُ اَنۡ اَعۡبُدَ الَّذِيۡنَ تَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ لَمَّا جَآءَنِىَ الۡبَيِّنٰتُ مِنۡ رَّبِّىۡ وَاُمِرۡتُ اَنۡ اُسۡلِمَ لِرَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qul innee nuheetu an aAAbuda allatheenatadAAoona min dooni Allahi lamma jaaniyaalbayyinatu min rabbee waomirtu an oslima lirabbi alAAalameen

فرما دیجئے: مجھے منع کیا گیا ہے کہ میں اُن کی پرستش کروں جن بتوں کی تم اللہ کو چھوڑ کر پرستش کرتے ہو جبکہ میرے پاس میرے رب کی جانب سے واضح نشانیاں آچکی ہیں اور مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ تمام جہانوں کے پروردگار کی فرمانبرداری کروں

Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, I have been forbidden to worship those you call upon besides Allah once the clear proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds."

Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."

Wawassayna al-insanabiwalidayhi ihsanan hamalat-hu ommuhukurhan wawadaAAat-hu kurhan wahamluhu wafisaluhuthalathoona shahran hatta ithabalagha ashuddahu wabalagha arbaAAeena sanatan qala rabbiawziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen

اور ہم نے انسان کو اپنے والدین کے ساتھ نیک سلوک کرنے کاحکم فرمایا۔ اس کی ماں نے اس کو تکلیف سے (پیٹ میں) اٹھائے رکھا اور اسے تکلیف کے ساتھ جنا، اور اس کا (پیٹ میں) اٹھانا اور اس کا دودھ چھڑانا (یعنی زمانۂ حمل و رضاعت) تیس ماہ (پر مشتمل) ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنی جوانی کو پہنچ جاتا ہے اور (پھر) چالیس سال (کی پختہ عمر) کو پہنچتا ہے، تو کہتا ہے: اے میرے رب: مجھے توفیق دے کہ میں تیرے اس احسان کا شکر ادا کروں جو تو نے مجھ پر اور میرے والدین پر فرمایا ہے اور یہ کہ میں ایسے نیک اعمال کروں جن سے تو راضی ہو اور میرے لئے میری اولاد میں نیکی اور خیر رکھ دے۔ بیشک میں تیری طرف رجوع کرتا ہوں اور میں یقیناً فرمانبرداروں میں سے ہوںo

And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months. [He grows] until, when he reaches maturity and reaches [the age of] forty years, he says, "My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims."

آپ دیہاتیوں میں سے پیچھے رہ جانے والوں سے فرما دیں کہ تم عنقریب ایک سخت جنگ جو قوم (سے جہاد) کی طرف بلائے جاؤ گے تم ان سے جنگ کرتے رہو گے یا وہ مسلمان ہو جائیں گے، سو اگر تم حکم مان لوگے تو اﷲ تمہیں بہترین اجر عطا فرمائے گا۔ اور اگر تم رُوگردانی کرو گے جیسے تم نے پہلے رُوگردانی کی تھی تو وہ تمہیں دردناک عذاب میں مبتلا کر دے گاo

Say to those who remained behind of the bedouins, "You will be called to [face] a people of great military might; you may fight them, or they will submit. So if you obey, Allah will give you a good reward; but if you turn away as you turned away before, He will punish you with a painful punishment."

— Transliteration
Wa-in ta-ifatani minaalmu/mineena iqtataloo faaslihoo baynahumafa-in baghat ihdahuma AAala al-okhrafaqatiloo allatee tabghee hatta tafee-a ilaamri Allahi fa-in faat faaslihoobaynahuma bilAAadli waaqsitoo inna Allahayuhibbu almuqsiteen

اور اگر مسلمانوں کے دو گروہ آپس میں جنگ کریں تو اُن کے درمیان صلح کرا دیا کرو، پھر اگر ان میں سے ایک (گروہ) دوسرے پر زیادتی اور سرکشی کرے تو اس (گروہ) سے لڑو جو زیادتی کا مرتکب ہو رہا ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ اﷲ کے حکم کی طرف لوٹ آئے، پھر اگر وہ رجوع کر لے تو دونوں کے درمیان عدل کے ساتھ صلح کرا دو اور انصاف سے کام لو، بیشک اﷲ انصاف کرنے والوں کو بہت پسند فرماتا ہےo

And if two factions among the believers should fight, then make settlement between the two. But if one of them oppresses the other, then fight against the one that oppresses until it returns to the ordinance of Allah. And if it returns, then make settlement between them in justice and act justly. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

Waman athlamu mimmani iftaraAAala Allahi alkathiba wahuwa yudAAaila al-islami wallahu layahdee alqawma aththalimeen

And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah untruth while he is being invited to Islam. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
