ضُرِبَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ اَيۡنَ مَا ثُقِفُوۡۤا اِلَّا بِحَبۡلٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَحَبۡلٍ مِّنَ النَّاسِ وَبَآءُوۡ بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَضُرِبَتۡ عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡمَسۡكَنَةُ ؕ ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا يَكۡفُرُوۡنَ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَيَقۡتُلُوۡنَ الۡاَنۡۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيۡرِ حَقٍّؕ ذٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوا وَّكَانُوۡا يَعۡتَدُوۡنَ
— Transliteration
Duribat AAalayhimu aththillatuayna ma thuqifoo illa bihablin mina Allahiwahablin mina annasi wabaoo bighadabinmina Allahi waduribat AAalayhimu almaskanatu thalikabi-annahum kanoo yakfuroona bi-ayati Allahiwayaqtuloona al-anbiyaa bighayri haqqin thalikabima AAasaw wakanoo yaAAtadoon

وہ جہاں کہیں بھی پائے جائیں ان پر ذلّت مسلط کر دی گئی ہے سوائے اس کے کہ انہیں کہیں اللہ کے عہد سے یا لوگوں کے عہد سے (پناہ دے دی جائے) اور وہ اللہ کے غضب کے سزاوار ہوئے ہیں اور ان پر محتاجی مسلط کی گئی ہے، یہ اس لئے کہ وہ اللہ کی آیتوں کا انکار کرتے تھے اور انبیاء کو ناحق قتل کرتے تھے، کیونکہ وہ نافرمان ہو گئے تھے اور (سرکشی میں) حد سے بڑھ گئے تھےo

They have been put under humiliation [by Allah] wherever they are overtaken, except for a covenant from Allah and a rope from the Muslims. And they have drawn upon themselves anger from Allah and have been put under destitution. That is because they disbelieved in the verses of Allah and killed the prophets without right. That is because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.

— Transliteration
Wama kana limu/minin anyaqtula mu/minan illa khataan waman qatala mu/minankhataan fatahreeru raqabatin mu/minatin wadiyatunmusallamatun ila ahlihi illa an yassaddaqoofa-in kana min qawmin AAaduwwin lakum wahuwa mu/minun fatahreeruraqabatin mu/minatin wa-in kana min qawmin baynakumwabaynahum meethaqun fadiyatun musallamatun ilaahlihi watahreeru raqabatin mu/minatin faman lam yajid fasiyamushahrayni mutatabiAAayni tawbatan mina Allahi wakanaAllahu AAaleeman hakeema

اور کسی مسلمان کے لئے (جائز) نہیں کہ وہ کسی مسلمان کو قتل کر دے مگر (بغیر قصد) غلطی سے، اور جس نے کسی مسلمان کو نادانستہ قتل کر دیا تو (اس پر) ایک مسلمان غلام / باندی کا آزاد کرنا اور خون بہا (کا ادا کرنا) جو مقتول کے گھر والوں کے سپرد کیا جائے (لازم ہے) مگر یہ کہ وہ معاف کر دیں، پھر اگر وہ (مقتول) تمہاری دشمن قوم سے ہو اور وہ مومن (بھی) ہو تو (صرف) ایک غلام / باندی کا آزاد کرنا (ہی لازم) ہے اور اگر وہ (مقتول) اس قوم میں سے ہو کہ تمہارے اور ان کے درمیان (صلح کا) معاہدہ ہے تو خون بہا (بھی) جو اس کے گھر والوں کے سپرد کیا جائے اور ایک مسلمان غلام / باندی کا آزاد کرنا (بھی لازم) ہے۔ پھر جس شخص کو (غلام / باندی) میسر نہ ہو تو (اس پر) پے در پے دو مہینے کے روزے (لازم) ہیں۔ اللہ کی طرف سے (یہ اس کی) توبہ ہے، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑی حکمت والا ہے

And never is it for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. And whoever kills a believer by mistake - then the freeing of a believing slave and a compensation payment presented to the deceased's family [is required] unless they give [up their right as] charity. But if the deceased was from a people at war with you and he was a believer - then [only] the freeing of a believing slave; and if he was from a people with whom you have a treaty - then a compensation payment presented to his family and the freeing of a believing slave. And whoever does not find [one or cannot afford to buy one] - then [instead], a fast for two months consecutively, [seeking] acceptance of repentance from Allah. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

Inna allatheena amanoo wahajaroowajahadoo bi-amwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahiwallatheena awaw wanasaroo ola-ikabaAAduhum awliyao baAAdin wallatheenaamanoo walam yuhajiroo ma lakum min walayatihimmin shay-in hatta yuhajiroo wa-ini istansarookumfee addeeni faAAalaykumu annasru illaAAala qawmin baynakum wabaynahum meethaqun wallahubima taAAmaloona baseer

بیشک جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے (اللہ کے لئے) وطن چھوڑ دیئے اور اپنے مالوں اور اپنی جانوں سے اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کیا اور جن لوگوں نے (مہاجرین کو) جگہ دی اور (ان کی) مدد کی وہی لوگ ایک دوسرے کے حقیقی دوست ہیں، اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے (مگر) انہوں نے (اللہ کے لئے) گھر بار نہ چھوڑے تو تمہیں ان کی دوستی سے کوئی سروکار نہیں یہاں تک کہ وہ ہجرت کریں اور اگر وہ دین (کے معاملات) میں تم سے مدد چاہیں تو تم پر (ان کی) مدد کرنا واجب ہے مگر اس قوم کے مقابلہ میں (مدد نہ کرنا) کہ تمہارے اور ان کے درمیان (صلح و امن کا) معاہدہ ہو، اور اللہ ان کاموں کو جو تم کر رہے ہو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے

Indeed, those who have believed and emigrated and fought with their wealth and lives in the cause of Allah and those who gave shelter and aided - they are allies of one another. But those who believed and did not emigrate - for you there is no guardianship of them until they emigrate. And if they seek help of you for the religion, then you must help, except against a people between yourselves and whom is a treaty. And Allah is Seeing of what you do.

Baraatun mina Allahiwarasoolihi ila allatheena AAahadtum minaalmushrikeen

اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی طرف سے بے زاری (و دست برداری) کا اعلان ہے ان مشرک لوگوں کی طرف جن سے تم نے (صلح و امن کا) معاہدہ کیا تھا (اور وہ اپنے عہد پر قائم نہ رہے تھے)

[This is a declaration of] disassociation, from Allah and His Messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists.
فَسِيۡحُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ اَرۡبَعَةَ اَشۡهُرٍ وَّاعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّكُمۡ غَيۡرُ مُعۡجِزِى اللّٰهِۙ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُخۡزِى الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Faseehoo fee al-ardi arbaAAataashhurin waAAlamoo annakum ghayru muAAjizee Allahiwaanna Allaha mukhzee alkafireen

پس (اے مشرکو!) تم زمین میں چار ماہ (تک) گھوم پھر لو (اس مہلت کے اختتام پر تمہیں جنگ کا سامنا کرنا ہوگا) اور جان لو کہ تم اللہ کو ہرگز عاجز نہیں کر سکتے اور بیشک اللہ کافروں کو رسوا کرنے والا ہے

So travel freely, [O disbelievers], throughout the land [during] four months but know that you cannot cause failure to Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers.
وَاَذٰنٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرَسُوۡلِهٖۤ اِلَى النَّاسِ يَوۡمَ الۡحَجِّ الۡاَكۡبَرِ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ بَرِىۡۤءٌ مِّنَ الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَ ۙ وَرَسُوۡلُهٗؕ فَاِنۡ تُبۡتُمۡ فَهُوَ خَيۡرٌ لَّـكُمۡۚ وَاِنۡ تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ فَاعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّكُمۡ غَيۡرُ مُعۡجِزِى اللّٰهِؕ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيۡمٍۙ
— Transliteration
Waathanun mina Allahiwarasoolihi ila annasi yawma alhajjial-akbari anna Allaha baree-on mina almushrikeenawarasooluhu fa-in tubtum fahuwa khayrun lakum wa-in tawallaytumfaAAlamoo annakum ghayru muAAjizee Allahiwabashshiri allatheena kafaroo biAAathabin aleem

(یہ آیات) اللہ اور اس کے رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کی جانب سے تمام لوگوں کی طرف حجِ اکبر کے دن اعلانِ (عام) ہے کہ اللہ مشرکوں سے بے زار ہے اور اس کا رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) بھی (ان سے بری الذمّہ ہے)، پس (اے مشرکو!) اگر تم توبہ کر لو تو وہ تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہے اور اگر تم نے روگردانی کی تو جان لو کہ تم ہرگز اللہ کو عاجز نہ کر سکو گے، اور (اے حبیب!) آپ کافروں کو دردناک عذاب کی خبر سنا دیں

And [it is] an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater pilgrimage that Allah is disassociated from the disbelievers, and [so is] His Messenger. So if you repent, that is best for you; but if you turn away - then know that you will not cause failure to Allah. And give tidings to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment.
اِلَّا الَّذِيۡنَ عٰهَدتُّمۡ مِّنَ الۡمُشۡرِكِيۡنَ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَنۡقُصُوۡكُمۡ شَيْئًا وَّلَمۡ يُظَاهِرُوۡا عَلَيۡكُمۡ اَحَدًا فَاَتِمُّوۡۤا اِلَيۡهِمۡ عَهۡدَهُمۡ اِلٰى مُدَّتِهِمۡؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ يُحِبُّ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Illa allatheena AAahadtummina almushrikeena thumma lam yanqusookum shay-an walam yuthahirooAAalaykum ahadan faatimmoo ilayhim AAahdahum ilamuddatihim inna Allaha yuhibbu almuttaqeen

سوائے ان مشرکوں کے جن سے تم نے معاہدہ کیا تھا پھر انہوں نے تمہارے ساتھ (اپنے عہد کو پورا کرنے میں) کوئی کمی نہیں کی اور نہ تمہارے مقابلہ پر کسی کی مدد (یا پشت پناہی) کی سو تم ان کے عہد کو ان کی مقررہ مدت تک ان کے ساتھ پورا کرو، بیشک اللہ پرہیزگاروں کو پسند فرماتا ہے

Excepted are those with whom you made a treaty among the polytheists and then they have not been deficient toward you in anything or supported anyone against you; so complete for them their treaty until their term [has ended]. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous [who fear Him].

کیا تم ایسی قوم سے جنگ نہیں کرو گے جنہوں نے اپنی قََسمیں توڑ ڈالیں اور رسول (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کو جلاوطن کرنے کا ارادہ کیا حالانکہ پہلی مرتبہ انہوں نے تم سے (عہد شکنی اور جنگ کی) ابتداء کی، کیا تم ان سے ڈرتے ہو جبکہ اللہ زیادہ حقدار ہے کہ تم اس سے ڈرو بشرطیکہ تم مومن ہو

Would you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined to expel the Messenger, and they had begun [the attack upon] you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more right that you should fear Him, if you are [truly] believers.
قَاتِلُوۡهُمۡ يُعَذِّبۡهُمُ اللّٰهُ بِاَيۡدِيۡكُمۡ وَيُخۡزِهِمۡ وَيَنۡصُرۡكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَيَشۡفِ صُدُوۡرَ قَوۡمٍ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَۙ
— Transliteration
Qatiloohum yuAAaththibhumu Allahubi-aydeekum wayukhzihim wayansurkum AAalayhim wayashfi sudooraqawmin mu/mineen

تم ان سے جنگ کرو، اللہ تمہارے ہاتھوں انہیں عذاب دے گا اور انہیں رسوا کرے گا اور ان (کے مقابلہ) پر تمہاری مدد فرمائے گا اور ایمان والوں کے سینوں کو شفا بخشے گا

Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people

They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant of protection. And it is they who are the transgressors.

Wa-in nakathoo aymanahum min baAAdiAAahdihim wataAAanoo fee deenikum faqatilooa-immata alkufri innahum la aymana lahumlaAAallahum yantahoon

اور اگر وہ اپنے عہد کے بعد اپنی قَسمیں توڑ دیں اور تمہارے دین میں طعنہ زنی کریں تو تم (ان) کفر کے سرغنوں سے جنگ کرو بیشک ان کی قَسموں کا کوئی اعتبار نہیں تاکہ وہ (اپنی فتنہ پروری سے) باز آجائیں

And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; [fight them that] they might cease.
