يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِذَا تَدَايَنۡتُمۡ بِدَيۡنٍ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَاكۡتُبُوۡهُؕ وَلۡيَكۡتُب بَّيۡنَكُمۡ كَاتِبٌۢ بِالۡعَدۡلِ وَلَا يَاۡبَ كَاتِبٌ اَنۡ يَّكۡتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ اللّٰهُ فَلۡيَكۡتُبۡ ۚوَلۡيُمۡلِلِ الَّذِىۡ عَلَيۡهِ الۡحَـقُّ وَلۡيَتَّقِ اللّٰهَ رَبَّهٗ وَلَا يَبۡخَسۡ مِنۡهُ شَيْئًا ؕ فَاِنۡ كَانَ الَّذِىۡ عَلَيۡهِ الۡحَـقُّ سَفِيۡهًا اَوۡ ضَعِيۡفًا اَوۡ لَا يَسۡتَطِيۡعُ اَنۡ يُّمِلَّ هُوَ فَلۡيُمۡلِلۡ وَلِيُّهٗ بِالۡعَدۡلِؕ وَاسۡتَشۡهِدُوۡا شَهِيۡدَيۡنِ مِنۡ رِّجَالِكُمۡۚ فَاِنۡ لَّمۡ يَكُوۡنَا رَجُلَيۡنِ فَرَجُلٌ وَّامۡرَاَتٰنِ مِمَّنۡ تَرۡضَوۡنَ مِنَ الشُّهَدَآءِ اَنۡ تَضِلَّ اِحۡدٰٮهُمَا فَتُذَكِّرَ اِحۡدٰٮهُمَا الۡاُخۡرٰىؕ وَلَا يَاۡبَ الشُّهَدَآءُ اِذَا مَا دُعُوۡاؕ وَلَا تَسۡـَٔـمُوۡۤا اَنۡ تَكۡتُبُوۡهُ صَغِيۡرًا اَوۡ كَبِيۡرًا اِلٰٓى اَجَلِهٖؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ اَقۡسَطُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ وَاَقۡوَمُ لِلشَّهٰدَةِ وَاَدۡنىٰۤ اَلَّا تَرۡتَابُوۡٓاۚ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ تَكُوۡنَ تِجَارَةً حَاضِرَةً تُدِيۡرُوۡنَهَا بَيۡنَكُمۡ فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ اَلَّا تَكۡتُبُوۡهَاؕ وَاَشۡهِدُوۡۤا اِذَا تَبَايَعۡتُمۡؕ وَلَا يُضَآرَّ كَاتِبٌ وَّلَا شَهِيۡدٌ ؕ وَاِنۡ تَفۡعَلُوۡا فَاِنَّهٗ فُسُوۡقٌ ۢ بِكُمۡ ؕ وَاتَّقُوۡا اللّٰهَ ؕ وَيُعَلِّمُكُمُ اللّٰهُ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Ya ayyuha allatheena amanooitha tadayantum bidaynin ila ajalin musammanfaktuboohu walyaktub baynakum katibun bilAAadliwala ya/ba katibun an yaktuba kamaAAallamahu Allahu falyaktub walyumlili allatheeAAalayhi alhaqqu walyattaqi Allaha rabbahu walayabkhas minhu shay-an fa-in kana allathee AAalayhialhaqqu safeehan aw daAAeefan aw la yastateeAAuan yumilla huwa falyumlil waliyyuhu bilAAadli wastashhidooshaheedayni min rijalikum fa-in lam yakoonarajulayni farajulun wamraatani mimman tardawnamina ashshuhada-i an tadilla ihdahumafatuthakkira ihdahuma al-okhrawala ya/ba ashshuhadao itha maduAAoo wala tas-amoo an taktuboohu sagheeran awkabeeran ila ajalihi thalikum aqsatu AAindaAllahi waaqwamu lishshahadati waadnaalla tartaboo illa an takoona tijaratanhadiratan tudeeroonaha baynakum falaysa AAalaykumjunahun alla taktubooha waashhidoo ithatabayaAAtum wala yudarra katibun walashaheedun wa-in tafAAaloo fa-innahu fusooqun bikum wattaqooAllaha wayuAAallimukumu Allahu wallahubikulli shay-in AAaleem

اے ایمان والو! جب تم کسی مقررہ مدت تک کے لئے آپس میں قرض کا معاملہ کرو تو اسے لکھ لیا کرو، اور تمہارے درمیان جو لکھنے والا ہو اسے چاہئے کہ انصاف کے ساتھ لکھے اور لکھنے والا لکھنے سے انکار نہ کرے جیسا کہ اسے اﷲ نے لکھنا سکھایا ہے، پس وہ لکھ دے (یعنی شرع اور ملکی دستور کے مطابق وثیقہ نویسی کا حق پوری دیانت سے ادا کرے)، اور مضمون وہ شخص لکھوائے جس کے ذمہ حق (یعنی قرض) ہو اور اسے چاہئے کہ اﷲ سے ڈرے جو اس کا پروردگار ہے اور اس (زرِ قرض) میں سے (لکھواتے وقت) کچھ بھی کمی نہ کرے، پھر اگر وہ شخص جس کے ذمہ حق واجب ہوا ہے ناسمجھ یا ناتواں ہو یا خود مضمون لکھوانے کی صلاحیت نہ رکھتا ہو تو اس کے کارندے کو چاہئے کہ وہ انصاف کے ساتھ لکھوا دے، اور اپنے لوگوں میں سے دو مردوں کو گواہ بنا لو، پھر اگر دونوں مرد میسر نہ ہوں تو ایک مرد اور دو عورتیں ہوں (یہ) ان لوگوں میں سے ہوں جنہیں تم گواہی کے لئے پسند کرتے ہو (یعنی قابلِ اعتماد سمجھتے ہو) تاکہ ان دو میں سے ایک عورت بھول جائے تو اس ایک کو دوسری یاد دلا دے، اور گواہوں کو جب بھی (گواہی کے لئے) بلایا جائے وہ انکار نہ کریں، اور معاملہ چھوٹا ہو یا بڑا اسے اپنی میعاد تک لکھ رکھنے میں اکتایا نہ کرو، یہ تمہارا دستاویز تیار کر لینا اﷲ کے نزدیک زیادہ قرینِ انصاف ہے اور گواہی کے لئے مضبوط تر اور یہ اس کے بھی قریب تر ہے کہ تم شک میں مبتلا نہ ہو سوائے اس کے کہ دست بدست ایسی تجارت ہو جس کا لین دین تم آپس میں کرتے رہتے ہو تو تم پر اس کے نہ لکھنے کا کوئی گناہ نہیں، اور جب بھی آپس میں خرید و فروخت کرو تو گواہ بنا لیا کرو، اور نہ لکھنے والے کو نقصان پہنچایا جائے اور نہ گواہ کو، اور اگر تم نے ایسا کیا تو یہ تمہاری حکم شکنی ہوگی، اور اﷲ سے ڈرتے رہو، اور اﷲ تمہیں (معاملات کی) تعلیم دیتا ہے اور اﷲ ہر چیز کا خوب جاننے والا ہے

O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in justice. Let no scribe refuse to write as Allah has taught him. So let him write and let the one who has the obligation dictate. And let him fear Allah, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it. But if the one who has the obligation is of limited understanding or weak or unable to dictate himself, then let his guardian dictate in justice. And bring to witness two witnesses from among your men. And if there are not two men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept as witnesses - so that if one of the women errs, then the other can remind her. And let not the witnesses refuse when they are called upon. And do not be [too] weary to write it, whether it is small or large, for its [specified] term. That is more just in the sight of Allah and stronger as evidence and more likely to prevent doubt between you, except when it is an immediate transaction which you conduct among yourselves. For [then] there is no blame upon you if you do not write it. And take witnesses when you conclude a contract. Let no scribe be harmed or any witness. For if you do so, indeed, it is [grave] disobedience in you. And fear Allah. And Allah teaches you. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

— Transliteration
Walaqad nasarakumu Allahubibadrin waantum athillatun fattaqoo AllahalaAAallakum tashkuroon

اور اللہ نے بدر میں تمہاری مدد فرمائی حالانکہ تم (اس وقت) بالکل بے سرو سامان تھے پس اللہ سے ڈرا کرو تاکہ تم شکر گزار بن جاؤ

And already had Allah given you victory at [the battle of] Badr while you were few in number. Then fear Allah; perhaps you will be grateful.

اَلۡـٰٔـنَ خَفَّفَ اللّٰهُ عَنۡكُمۡ وَعَلِمَ اَنَّ فِيۡكُمۡ ضَعۡفًاؕ فَاِنۡ يَّكُنۡ مِّنۡكُمۡ مِّائَةٌ صَابِرَةٌ يَّغۡلِبُوۡا مِائَتَيۡنِۚ وَاِنۡ يَّكُنۡ مِّنۡكُمۡ اَلۡفٌ يَّغۡلِبُوۡۤا اَلۡفَيۡنِ بِاِذۡنِ اللّٰهِؕ وَاللّٰهُ مَعَ الصّٰبِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Al-ana khaffafa Allahu AAankumwaAAalima anna feekum daAAfan fa-in yakun minkum mi-atun sabiratunyaghliboo mi-atayni wa-in yakun minkum alfun yaghliboo alfaynibi-ithni Allahi wallahu maAAa assabireen

اب اللہ نے تم سے (اپنے حکم کا بوجھ) ہلکا کر دیا اسے معلوم ہے کہ تم میں (کسی قدر) کمزوری ہے سو (اب تخفیف کے بعد حکم یہ ہے کہ) اگر تم میں سے (ایک) سو (آدمی) ثابت قدم رہنے والے ہوں (تو) وہ دو سو (کفار) پر غالب آئیں گے اور اگر تم میں سے (ایک) ہزار ہوں تو وہ اللہ کے حکم سے دو ہزار (کافروں) پر غالب آئیں گے، اور اللہ صبر کرنے والوں کے ساتھ ہے (یہ مومنوں کے لئے ہدف ہے کہ میدانِ جہاد میں ان کے جذبۂ ایمانی کا اثر کم سے کم یہ ہونا چاہیئے)

Now, Allah has lightened [the hardship] for you, and He knows that among you is weakness. So if there are from you one hundred [who are] steadfast, they will overcome two hundred. And if there are among you a thousand, they will overcome two thousand by permission of Allah. And Allah is with the steadfast.

Allahu allathee khalaqakum mindaAAfin thumma jaAAala min baAAdi daAAfin quwwatanthumma jaAAala min baAAdi quwwatin daAAfan washaybatanyakhluqu ma yashao wahuwa alAAaleemu alqadeer

Waqala allatheena istudAAifoolillatheena istakbaroo bal makru allayli wannahariith ta/muroonana an nakfura billahiwanajAAala lahu andadan waasarroo annadamatalamma raawoo alAAathaba wajaAAalna al-aghlalafee aAAnaqi allatheena kafaroo hal yujzawna illama kanoo yaAAmaloon

پھر کمزور لوگ متکبرّوں سے کہیں گے: بلکہ (تمہارے) رات دن کے مَکر ہی نے (ہمیں روکا تھا) جب تم ہمیں حکم دیتے تھے کہ ہم اللہ سے کفر کریں اور ہم اس کے لئے شریک ٹھہرائیں، اور وہ (ایک دوسرے سے) ندامت چھپائیں گے جب وہ عذاب دیکھ لیں گے اور ہم کافروں کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈال دیں گے، اور انہیں اُن کے کئے کا ہی بدلہ دیا جائے گا

Those who were oppressed will say to those who were arrogant, "Rather, [it was your] conspiracy of night and day when you were ordering us to disbelieve in Allah and attribute to Him equals." But they will [all] confide regret when they see the punishment; and We will put shackles on the necks of those who disbelieved. Will they be recompensed except for what they used to do?
