وَاسۡتَبَقَا الۡبَابَ وَقَدَّتۡ قَمِيۡصَهٗ مِنۡ دُبُرٍ وَّاَلۡفَيَا سَيِّدَهَا لَدَا الۡبَابِؕ قَالَتۡ مَا جَزَآءُ مَنۡ اَرَادَ بِاَهۡلِكَ سُوۡۤءًا اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يُّسۡجَنَ اَوۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Wastabaqa albabawaqaddat qameesahu min duburin waalfaya sayyidahalada albabi qalat ma jazao manarada bi-ahlika soo-an illa an yusjana aw AAathabunaleem

اور دونوں دروازے کی طرف (آگے پیچھے) دوڑے اور اس (زلیخا) نے ان کا قمیض پیچھے سے پھاڑ ڈالا اور دونوں نے اس کے خاوند (عزیزِ مصر) کو دروازے کے قریب پا لیا وہ (فورًا) بول اٹھی کہ اس شخص کی سزا جو تمہاری بیوی کے ساتھ برائی کا ارادہ کرے اور کیا ہو سکتی ہے سوائے اس کے کہ وہ قید کر دیا جائے یا (اسے) درد ناک عذاب دیا جائے۔

And they both raced to the door, and she tore his shirt from the back, and they found her husband at the door. She said, "What is the recompense of one who intended evil for your wife but that he be imprisoned or a painful punishment?"
قَالَ هِىَ رَاوَدَتۡنِىۡ عَنۡ نَّـفۡسِىۡ وَشَهِدَ شَاهِدٌ مِّنۡ اَهۡلِهَاۚ اِنۡ كَانَ قَمِيۡصُهٗ قُدَّ مِنۡ قُبُلٍ فَصَدَقَتۡ وَهُوَ مِنَ الۡكٰذِبِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qala hiya rawadatnee AAannafsee washahida shahidun min ahliha in kanaqameesuhu qudda min qubulin fasadaqat wahuwa minaalkathibeen

یوسف (علیہ السلام) نے کہا: (نہیں بلکہ) اس نے خود مجھ سے مطلب براری کے لئے مجھے پھسلانا چاہا اور (اتنے میں خود) اس کے گھر والوں میں سے ایک گواہ نے (جو شیر خوار بچہ تھا) گواہی دی کہ اگر اس کا قمیض آگے سے پھٹا ہوا ہے تو یہ سچی ہے اور وہ جھوٹوں میں سے ہے

[Joseph] said, "It was she who sought to seduce me." And a witness from her family testified. "If his shirt is torn from the front, then she has told the truth, and he is of the liars.

فَلَمَّا سَمِعَتۡ بِمَكۡرِهِنَّ اَرۡسَلَتۡ اِلَيۡهِنَّ وَاَعۡتَدَتۡ لَهُنَّ مُتَّكَـاً وَّاٰتَتۡ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِّنۡهُنَّ سِكِّيۡنًا وَّقَالَتِ اخۡرُجۡ عَلَيۡهِنَّۚ فَلَمَّا رَاَيۡنَهٗۤ اَكۡبَرۡنَهٗ وَقَطَّعۡنَ اَيۡدِيَهُنَّ وَقُلۡنَ حَاشَ لِلّٰهِ مَا هٰذَا بَشَرًاؕ اِنۡ هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا مَلَكٌ كَرِيۡمٌ
— Transliteration
Falamma samiAAat bimakrihinna arsalatilayhinna waaAAtadat lahunna muttakaan waatat kulla wahidatinminhunna sikkeenan waqalati okhruj AAalayhinna falammaraaynahu akbarnahu waqattaAAna aydiyahunna waqulna hashalillahi ma hatha basharan in hathailla malakun kareem

پس جب اس (زلیخا) نے ان کی مکارانہ باتیں سنیں (تو) انہیں بلوا بھیجا اور ان کے لئے مجلس آراستہ کی (پھر ان کے سامنے پھل رکھ دیئے) اور ان میں سے ہر ایک کو ایک ایک چھری دے دی اور (یوسف علیہ السلام سے) درخواست کی کہ ذرا ان کے سامنے سے (ہوکر) نکل جاؤ (تاکہ انہیں بھی میری کیفیت کا سبب معلوم ہو جائے)، سو جب انہوں نے یوسف (علیہ السلام کے حسنِ زیبا) کو دیکھا تو اس (کے جلوۂ جمال) کی بڑائی کرنے لگیں اور وہ (مدہوشی کے عالم میں پھل کاٹنے کے بجائے) اپنے ہاتھ کاٹ بیٹھیں اور (دیکھ لینے کے بعد بے ساختہ) بول اٹھیں: اﷲ کی پناہ! یہ تو بشر نہیں ہے، یہ تو بس کوئی برگزیدہ فرشتہ (یعنی عالمِ بالا سے اترا ہوا نور کا پیکر) ہے

So when she heard of their scheming, she sent for them and prepared for them a banquet and gave each one of them a knife and said [to Joseph], "Come out before them." And when they saw him, they greatly admired him and cut their hands and said, "Perfect is Allah! This is not a man; this is none but a noble angel."
قَالَتۡ فَذٰلِكُنَّ الَّذِىۡ لُمۡتُنَّنِىۡ فِيۡهِؕ وَلَـقَدۡ رَاوَدتُّهٗ عَنۡ نَّـفۡسِهٖ فَاسۡتَعۡصَمَؕ وَلَٮِٕنۡ لَّمۡ يَفۡعَلۡ مَاۤ اٰمُرُهٗ لَـيُسۡجَنَنَّ وَلَيَكُوۡنًا مِّنَ الصّٰغِرِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Qalat fathalikunna allatheelumtunnanee feehi walaqad rawadtuhu AAan nafsihi fastAAsamawala-in lam yafAAal ma amuruhu layusjanannawalayakoonan mina assaghireen

(زلیخا کی تدبیر کامیاب ہوگئی تب) وہ بولی: یہی وہ (پیکرِ نور) ہے جس کے بارے میں تم مجھے ملامت کرتی تھیں اور بیشک میں نے ہی (اپنی خواہش کی شدت میں) اسے پھسلانے کی کوشش کی مگر وہ سراپا عصمت ہی رہا، اور اگر (اب بھی) اس نے وہ نہ کیا جو میں اسے کہتی ہوں تو وہ ضرور قید کیا جائے گا اور وہ یقینًا بے آبرو کیا جائے گا

She said, "That is the one about whom you blamed me. And I certainly sought to seduce him, but he firmly refused; and if he will not do what I order him, he will surely be imprisoned and will be of those debased."
