— Transliteration
Laqad samiAAa Allahu qawla allatheenaqaloo inna Allaha faqeerun wanahnu aghniyaonsanaktubu ma qaloo waqatlahumu al-anbiyaabighayri haqqin wanaqoolu thooqoo AAathabaalhareeq

بیشک اللہ نے ان لوگوں کی بات سن لی جو کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ محتاج ہے اور ہم غنی ہیں، اب ہم ان کی ساری باتیں اور ان کا انبیاءکو ناحق قتل کرنا (بھی) لکھ رکھیں گے، اور (روزِ قیامت) فرمائیں گے کہ (اب تم) جلا ڈالنے والے عذاب کا مزہ چکھو
— English
Allah has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed, Allah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.
ذٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ اَيۡدِيۡكُمۡ وَاَنَّ اللّٰهَ لَيۡسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلۡعَبِيۡدِۚ
— Transliteration
Thalika bima qaddamataydeekum waanna Allaha laysa bithallaminlilAAabeed

یہ ان اعمال کا بدلہ ہے جو تمہارے ہاتھ خود آگے بھیج چکے ہیں اور بیشک اللہ بندوں پر ظلم کرنے والا نہیں ہے

That is for what your hands have put forth and because Allah is not ever unjust to [His] servants."
الَّذِيۡنَ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَهِدَ اِلَيۡنَاۤ اَلَّا نُؤۡمِنَ لِرَسُوۡلٍ حَتّٰى يَاۡتِيَنَا بِقُرۡبَانٍ تَاۡكُلُهُ النَّارُؕ قُلۡ قَدۡ جَآءَكُمۡ رُسُلٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِىۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَبِالَّذِىۡ قُلۡتُمۡ فَلِمَ قَتَلۡتُمُوۡهُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Allatheena qaloo inna AllahaAAahida ilayna alla nu/mina lirasoolin hattaya/tiyana biqurbanin ta/kuluhu annaruqul qad jaakum rusulun min qablee bilbayyinatiwabillathee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kutum sadiqeen

جو لوگ (یعنی یہود حیلہ جوئی کے طور پر) یہ کہتے ہیں کہ اللہ نے ہمیں یہ حکم بھیجا تھا کہ ہم کسی پیغمبر پر ایمان نہ لائیں جب تک وہ (اپنی رسالت کے ثبوت میں) ایسی قربانی نہ لائے جسے آگ (آکر) کھا جائے، آپ (ان سے) فرما دیں: بیشک مجھ سے پہلے بہت سے رسول واضح نشانیاں لے کر آئے اور اس نشانی کے ساتھ بھی (آئے) جو تم کہہ رہے ہو تو (اس کے باوجود) تم نے انہیں شہید کیوں کیا اگر تم (اتنے ہی) سچے ہوo
— English
[They are] those who said, "Indeed, Allah has taken our promise not to believe any messenger until he brings us an offering which fire [from heaven] will consume." Say, "There have already come to you messengers before me with clear proofs and [even] that of which you speak. So why did you kill them, if you should be truthful?"
فَاِنۡ كَذَّبُوۡكَ فَقَدۡ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكَ جَآءُوۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالۡكِتٰبِ الۡمُنِيۡرِ
— Transliteration
Fa-in kaththabooka faqad kuththibarusulun min qablika jaoo bilbayyinati wazzuburiwalkitabi almuneer

پھر بھی اگر آپ کو جھٹلائیں تو (محبوب آپ رنجیدہ خاطر نہ ہوں) آپ سے پہلے بھی بہت سے رسولوں کو جھٹلایا گیا جو واضح نشانیاں (یعنی معجزات) اور صحیفے اور روشن کتاب لے کر آئے تھے

Then if they deny you, [O Muhammad] - so were messengers denied before you, who brought clear proofs and written ordinances and the enlightening Scripture.
كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ ذَآٮِٕقَةُ الۡمَوۡتِؕ وَاِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوۡنَ اُجُوۡرَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِؕ فَمَنۡ زُحۡزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَاُدۡخِلَ الۡجَـنَّةَ فَقَدۡ فَازَ ؕ وَمَا الۡحَيٰوةُ الدُّنۡيَاۤ اِلَّا مَتَاعُ الۡغُرُوۡرِ
— Transliteration
Kullu nafsin tha-iqatu almawtiwa-innama tuwaffawna ojoorakum yawma alqiyamatifaman zuhziha AAani annari waodkhilaaljannata faqad faza wama alhayatu addunyailla mataAAu alghuroor

Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion.

— Transliteration
Ith antum bilAAudwati addunyawahum bilAAudwati alquswa warrakbuasfala minkum walaw tawaAAadtum lakhtalaftum feealmeeAAadi walakin liyaqdiya Allahuamran kana mafAAoolan liyahlika man halaka AAan bayyinatinwayahya man hayya AAan bayyinatin wa-innaAllaha lasameeAAun AAaleem

جب تم (مدینہ کی جانب) وادی کے قریبی کنارے پر تھے اور وہ (کفّار دوسری جانب) دور والے کنارے پر تھے اور (تجارتی) قافلہ تم سے نیچے تھا، اور اگر تم آپس میں (جنگ کے لئے) کوئی وعدہ کر لیتے تو ضرور (اپنے) وعدہ سے مختلف (وقتوں میں) پہنچتے لیکن (اللہ نے تمہیں بغیر وعدہ ایک ہی وقت پر جمع فرما دیا) یہ اس لئے (ہوا) کہ اللہ اس کام کو پورا فرما دے جو ہو کر رہنے والا تھا تاکہ جس شخص کو مرنا ہے وہ حجت (تمام ہونے) سے مرے اور جسے جینا ہے وہ حجت (تمام ہونے) سے جئے (یعنی ہر کسی کے سامنے اسلام اور رسول برحق صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی صداقت پر حجت قائم ہو جائے)، اور بیشک اللہ خوب سننے والا جاننے والا ہے

[Remember] when you were on the near side of the valley, and they were on the farther side, and the caravan was lower [in position] than you. If you had made an appointment [to meet], you would have missed the appointment. But [it was] so that Allah might accomplish a matter already destined - that those who perished [through disbelief] would perish upon evidence and those who lived [in faith] would live upon evidence; and indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

يٰۤاَبَتِ اِنِّىۡۤ اَخَافُ اَنۡ يَّمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِّنَ الرَّحۡمٰنِ فَتَكُوۡنَ لِلشَّيۡطٰنِ وَلِيًّا
— Transliteration
Ya abati innee akhafu anyamassaka AAathabun mina arrahmanifatakoona lishshyatani waliyya

اے ابّا! بیشک میں اس بات سے ڈرتا ہوں کہ تمہیں (خدائے) رحمان کا عذاب پہنچے اور تم شیطان کے ساتھی بن جاؤ

O my father, indeed I fear that there will touch you a punishment from the Most Merciful so you would be to Satan a companion [in Hellfire]."
قَالَ اَرَاغِبٌ اَنۡتَ عَنۡ اٰلِهَتِىۡ يٰۤاِبۡرٰهِيۡمُۚ لَٮِٕنۡ لَّمۡ تَنۡتَهِ لَاَرۡجُمَنَّكَ وَاهۡجُرۡنِىۡ مَلِيًّا
— Transliteration
Qala araghibun anta AAan alihateeya ibraheemu la-in lam tantahi laarjumannaka wahjurneemaliyya

(آزر نے) کہا: اے ابراہیم! کیا تم میرے معبودوں سے روگرداں ہو؟ اگر واقعی تم (اس مخالفت سے) باز نہ آئے تو میں تمہیں ضرور سنگ سار کر دوں گا اور ایک طویل عرصہ کے لئے تم مجھ سے الگ ہوجاؤ

[His father] said, "Have you no desire for my gods, O Abraham? If you do not desist, I will surely stone you, so avoid me a prolonged time."
قَالَ سَلٰمٌ عَلَيۡكَۚ سَاَسۡتَغۡفِرُ لَـكَ رَبِّىۡؕ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ بِىۡ حَفِيًّا
— Transliteration
Qala salamun AAalaykasaastaghfiru laka rabbee innahu kana bee hafiyya

(ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے) کہا: (اچھا) تمہیں سلام، میں اب (بھی) اپنے رب سے تمہارے لئے بخشش مانگوں گا، بیشک وہ مجھ پر بہت مہربان ہے (شاید تمہیں ہدایت عطا فرما دے)

[Abraham] said, "Peace will be upon you. I will ask forgiveness for you of my Lord. Indeed, He is ever gracious to me.
وَاَعۡتَزِلُـكُمۡ وَمَا تَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ وَاَدۡعُوۡا رَبِّىۡۖ عَسٰٓى اَلَّاۤ اَكُوۡنَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّىۡ شَقِيًّا
— Transliteration
WaaAAtazilukum wama tadAAoona mindooni Allahi waadAAoo rabbee AAasa allaakoona biduAAa-i rabbee shaqiyya

اور میں تم (سب) سے اور ان (بتوں) سے جنہیں تم اللہ کے سوا پوجتے ہو کنارہ کش ہوتا ہوں اور اپنے رب کی عبادت میں (یک سُو ہو کر) مصروف ہوتا ہوں، امید ہے میں اپنے رب کی عبادت کے باعث محرومِ (کرم) نہ رہوں گا
— English
And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy."
فَلَمَّا اعۡتَزَلَهُمۡ وَمَا يَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِۙ وَهَبۡنَا لَهٗۤ اِسۡحٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوۡبَؕ وَكُلاًّ جَعَلۡنَا نَبِيًّا
— Transliteration
Falamma iAAtazalahum wamayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi wahabna lahu ishaqawayaAAqooba wakullan jaAAalna nabiyya

پھر جب ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) ان لوگوں سے اور ان (بتوں) سے جن کی وہ اﷲ کے سوا پرستش کرتے تھے (میل ملاپ چھوڑ کر) بالکل جدا ہو گئے (تو) ہم نے انہیں اسحاق (بیٹے) اور یعقوب (پوتے، علیھما السلام) سے نوازا، اور ہم نے ہر (دو) کو نبی بنایا

So when he had left them and those they worshipped other than Allah, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each [of them] We made a prophet.
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُمۡ مِّنۡ رَّحۡمَتِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَا لَهُمۡ لِسَانَ صِدۡقٍ عَلِيًّا
— Transliteration
Wawahabna lahum min rahmatinawajaAAalna lahum lisana sidqin AAaliyya

And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor.
وَاذۡكُرۡ فِىۡ الۡكِتٰبِ مُوۡسٰٓى اِنَّهٗ كَانَ مُخۡلَصًا وَّكَانَ رَسُوۡلاً نَّبِيًّا

Wathkur fee alkitabimoosa innahu kana mukhlasan wakanarasoolan nabiyya

اور (اس) کتاب میں موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کا ذکر کیجئے، بیشک وہ (نفس کی گرفت سے خلاصی پاکر) برگزیدہ ہو چکے تھے اور صاحبِ رسالت نبی تھے

And mention in the Book, Moses. Indeed, he was chosen, and he was a messenger and a prophet.
وَنَادَيۡنٰهُ مِنۡ جَانِبِ الطُّوۡرِ الۡاَيۡمَنِ وَقَرَّبۡنٰهُ نَجِيًّا
— Transliteration
Wanadaynahu min janibiattoori al-aymani waqarrabnahu najiyya

اور ہم نے انہیں (کوہِ) طور کی داہنی جانب سے ندا دی اور راز و نیاز کی باتیں کرنے کے لئے ہم نے انہیں قربتِ (خاص) سے نوازا

And We called him from the side of the mount at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].
وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهٗ مِنۡ رَّحۡمَتِنَاۤ اَخَاهُ هٰرُوۡنَ نَبِيًّا

Wawahabna lahu min rahmatinaakhahu haroona nabiyya

اور ہم نے اپنی رحمت سے ان کے بھائی ہارون (علیہ السلام) کو نبی بنا کر انہیں بخشا (تاکہ وہ ان کے کام میں معاون ہوں)

وَاذۡكُرۡ فِىۡ الۡـكِتٰبِ اِسۡمٰعِيۡلَ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ صَادِقَ الۡوَعۡدِ وَكَانَ رَسُوۡلاً نَّبِيًّاۚ
— Transliteration
Wathkur fee alkitabiismaAAeela innahu kana sadiqa alwaAAdi wakanarasoolan nabiyya

اور آپ (اس) کتاب میں اسماعیل (علیہ السلام) کا ذکر کریں، بیشک وہ وعدہ کے سچے تھے اور صاحبِ رسالت نبی تھے

And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.
وَكَانَ يَاۡمُرُ اَهۡلَهٗ بِالصَّلٰوةِ وَالزَّكٰوةِ وَكَانَ عِنۡدَ رَبِّهٖ مَرۡضِيًّا
— Transliteration
Wakana ya/muru ahlahu bissalatiwazzakati wakana AAinda rabbihi mardiyya

اور وہ اپنے گھر والوں کو نماز اور زکوٰۃ کا حکم دیتے تھے، اور وہ اپنے رب کے حضور مقام مرضیّہ پر (فائز) تھے (یعنی ان کا رب ان سے راضی تھا)

And he used to enjoin on his people prayer and zakah and was to his Lord pleasing.

Innahu man ya/ti rabbahu mujriman fa-innalahu jahannama la yamootu feeha wala yahya

بیشک جو شخص اپنے رب کے پاس مجرم بن کر آئے گا تو بیشک اس کے لئے جہنم ہے، (اور وہ ایسا عذاب ہے کہ) نہ وہ اس میں مر سکے گا اور نہ ہی زندہ رہے گا

Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal - indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live.

فَاسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهٗ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهٗ يَحۡيٰى وَاَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهٗ زَوۡجَهٗؕ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا يُسٰرِعُوۡنَ فِىۡ الۡخَيۡرٰتِ وَيَدۡعُوۡنَـنَا رَغَبًا وَّرَهَبًاؕ وَّكَانُوۡا لَنَا خٰشِعِيۡنَ
— Transliteration
Fastajabna lahu wawahabnalahu yahya waaslahna lahuzawjahu innahum kanoo yusariAAoona fee alkhayratiwayadAAoonana raghaban warahaban wakanoo lanakhashiAAeen

تو ہم نے ان کی دعا قبول فرما لی اور ہم نے انہیں یحیٰی (علیہ السلام) عطا فرمایا اور ان کی خاطر ان کی زوجہ کو (بھی) درست (قابلِ اولاد) بنا دیا۔ بیشک یہ (سب) نیکی کے کاموں (کی انجام دہی) میں جلدی کرتے تھے اور ہمیں شوق و رغبت اور خوف و خشیّت (کی کیفیتوں) کے ساتھ پکارا کرتے تھے، اور ہمارے حضور بڑے عجز و نیاز کے ساتھ گڑگڑاتے تھے

So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.
