According to search-discovered classical Islamic scholarship, Prophet Moses, or Musa (موسى), is the most frequently mentioned prophet in the Quran and a pivotal figure in Islamic theology. Tafsir literature, particularly the works of Ibn Kathir and Al-Tabari, synthesizes over 340 verses to present his comprehensive story. He was divinely chosen from birth, saved from the infanticide of Pharaoh, and commissioned by Allah at the burning bush to liberate the Children of Israel and call the tyrannical Pharaoh to worship the one true God. His mission was supported by nine manifest miracles, including his staff transforming into a serpent and the parting of the Red Sea. As a messenger of firm resolve (Ulu al-'Azm), he was entrusted with a divine scripture, the Tawrat (Torah), establishing a detailed legal and moral code.
